Great entertainment and music when I visited.. TERRIBLE customer service. Like from the start they rubbed me and my family off the wrong way with an over all sense of "i don't want you here". It was also my birthday but didn't bother to mention it from the vibe we were getting. They were quick to let us know right as we were sitting we have an hour and a half max seating time ? yet brought out our picture of sangria almost 30 minutes in and and messed up all of our orders.. wasn't even worth it for us to order another picture..so there went their hour and a half turn around.. on top of that they reheated my chicken upon correcting my order which lead to it being dried out and chewy like beef jerky.. anyway this place has so much potential but needs to revamp their staff and restaurant culture. read more

I'm writing this review 2 months from when I ate there and I don't normally write reviews but had to for this one because the experience was memorable in the worst way. The food and drinks are the only reason I gave The Cuban 2 stars over 1. Had reservations for a party of 8 as a birthday dinner. Waited about 45min after being seated for the waiter to come by and get our drink order, we actually had to go up and ask if someone was coming by to help us. After our drink and food order was taken we waited another 30-40min before we decided to go up again and ask where our drinks were. The food and drinks then came shortly after by different wait staff. The original waiter then came by and we were missing a few drinks and he then pointed his finger at one of our guests and scolded her saying she didn't order a drink when she did with a different waiter because he was missing the whole time. You'd think we'd get at least decent service because we had a larger group but because they automatically included 20% tip on the bill they probably felt they didn't need to earn that 20%. The sad thing is that it wasn't even busy due to covid restrictions. read more

Very nice place to eat, drink and dance,I love the music. I was making it my weekend place until October 11. it was abut 9 of us in a group including my niece. we where having a good time and 2 of the girls that were with us left the drinks alone, one in the counter by us which was almost full the other drink was on an empty table by the dance floor where they were dancing when they went to get the drinks it was gone the waiter had taken it. The drinks had barely been touched, we approached the manager Allan Sancho and explained to him what happened, we figured that he out of courtesy would replace the drinks or at least one drink after explaining to him, he didn't even budge. I asked him if he preferred to loose customers over $8 and he basically said yes, he said he can't replace a drink to everyone who says they lost a drink, which is understandable but in our case the drinks where had barely been touched and he has seen us there before or at least he has seen me. If that's the case he should instruct the personal not to take drinks befor asking anyone around. One time I was there and they took my drink when i told the bartender she apologized and replaced it, that's the kind of service they should teach everyone else. the same group have gone there before, we even took my son there for his birthday in September. It was a very disappointing experience. Now if we go back again, we have to baby sit our drinks it shouldn't be so. read more

Came here with party of 7 for a friend's birthday. Busy Saturday evening. Returned my margarita (they pre make them in batches) for a freshly made one. Have to say, I returned a quesadilla, one of the 4 pieces was completely empty. Then the entire time you are trying to have a nice evening out, they have the people waiting for tables being called over the speakers. Loud, the music stops, Jeff party of 5 Jeff party of 5.... My husband, who is Cuban, and I have been eagerly awaiting the opening of this restaurant but were sadly disappointed when we finally went there for dinner last night. We were seated in an out-of-the way spot across from the restrooms, but that's not the problem. The problem is that it seemed we were forgotten once we were seated. We waited quite a long time for a waiter to appear. When he finally did, he was apologetic, stating that he was busy with a large birthday party. (Not a good excuse for first-time customers.) Our drinks did not arrive until we were well into our meal. We ordered sangria, however, and it was perfect. We requested additional chips to go with our as yet unfinished guacamole, but they didn't arrive until the end of our meal. I must say that the food was delicious, beautifully presented and perfectly spiced. It appeared that our waiter realized we were annoyed by his spotty attention and comped us another guacamole to go with the chips we got at the end of our meal, although that didn't totally appease us. We will return to The Cuban. We enjoyed the atmosphere, and the tasty food. We hope that the service will be better during our next visit. read more

Very disappointing. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because the food tasted ok. When the food finally came out it wasn't hot. The service was terrible. We went for a birthday celebration. The desserts came out in drips and drabs. The ice cream was melted. We ordered frozen margaritas. They weren't frozen. We sent them back. I was looking forward to going. We love Margarita's Cafe which are the same owners. The managers were not nice. I would not go back. read more

Went here with my best friend for her birthday and everything started ok as far as the staff being friendly in the beginning, but that would soon change. They came out with cake which we did not order and they also poured a shot in her mouth. It's always a nice touch by a restaurant to bring over a slice of cake for someone's birthday. However when it came to check time, things really went of the rails. They charged $10 for the slice of cake & on top of that they charged us for an extra 2 side dishes that were never ordered. The initial question we had was for the cake, I have never been charged for a slice of cake brought to the table for a birthday ever at any restaurant so that was a shock. When questioned the waiter continued to say that it's the way things are here and that's what they do. Meaning what? That they bring extra items to the table and then charge for them? It took 3x to get check right after multiple times arguing which was highly unnecessary. Mistakes happen, but placing 2 extra items on the bill and then a third item which is comped anywhere else on the planet is unacceptable. Then to be met with attitude and condescending tone when we questioned the bill is embarrassing service. The food here was actually quite good, but based off of this exchange there is zero chance of ever going back. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. This place has no respect for the town of Patchogue or the residents of New Village. There music is obnoxiously loud 5 nights a weeks you can't even hear yourself think. They also set off the fire alarms at least once a month causing the tenants above the restaurant to have to evacuate at all hours of the night. They should have some respect and consideration for the people of Patchogue that keep them in business and consider how much noise they make and how much they set off the fire alarms. Just walked in to try "The Cuban" for the first time and was ignored by the hostess who acknowledge 2 other people that came after us! When I asked the hostess if I was invisible, she told me if I'm not happy I can go elsewhere!! I planned a surprise birthday dinner for my boyfriends birthday and The General Manager Kim was amazing from the first email of planning it up until we left the restaurant. We had our own section, amazing servers great food and the dancers were great and active with the audience. I even got grabbed to dance on stage with them lol. Everyone loved their food and there wasn't anything negative about my experience. The servers and Kim herself came around several of times although it was a busy Saturday during the holidays just to make sure we were okay. I'm so happy with how everything went and they will definitely be getting our business again. THANK YOU!!!!! read more

Music was great. But imagine ordering a mojito and getting a Capri sun like sugary drink. I want an $11 dollar mojito with actual rum in it and not just the club soda, mint leaves, and lime. We took our Mother there on 5/5/19 for her birthday thinking what a great time we would have. We waited for our drink for over a half hour and finally received half way through dinner. Then when they came one margarita did not have salt. They asked who had that one without salt when we responded nobody-the runner asked if we wanted him to bring salt to the table. Really? Forgot our guacamole, weird considering they asked like 5 questions about what we wanted in it. The Cuban was horrible! Never had water refilled. Of all days you would think they would be on their "A" game. I would never go back and discourage anyone from going there. Learn how to run your business, what a shame! We went mid-week about 6pm. Slight crowd, but plenty of tables, and we got right in. It's snug inside, with the tables fairly close together, but not uncomfortably so. Mojita's are $3 on Wednesday, were very fresh and minty. We kept it simple with empanadas and paella. Both were delicious. Split lobster tail, shrimp and scallops in the paella, it was easily among the best I've had. The service was professional and attentive. We had no complaints at all, and will definitely be going back. read more

I couldnt wait to try here last friday by seeing all the hype on social media. The decor is beautiful, def Cuban vibe for sure. We walked in (party of 3) 1 hour wait, no problem sat at the bar ordered 4 drinks closed tab... $54??? Rent must be astronomical. I ordered pomegranate margarita BY FAR WORST DRINK I'VE EVER HAD. I didnt even finish half of it and my stomach was hurting me. I then ordered a Pinot Noir, the bartender (wish I got her name) said "oh its in the basement so we cant get it". OK I understand this place is incredibly busy, but how do you say that?? Pinot is like the number one wine that SHOULD be at the bar in general, but ok thats fine. We then had gotten sat for dinner, I had ordered quesadillas as my entree (bland as anything), my husband ordered a Cuban Sandwich (he said he didnt like it at all), and my friend had ordered avacado salad. Waiter had come to the table and I ordered a sangria. The sangria is definatly bottled sangria (carlo rossi to be exact). Long story short, we should of went to Swell Taco or Del Fuego. My Husband and I tried this place for the first time on 7/28. The food and drinks were excellent! The atmosphere was great! We sat in the bar area at a high top table where we were able to talk but still hear the live music. All staff were attentive, but have to give a shout out to the bartender Jonathan ! Went for Sunday brunch very yummy! Kids loved it too. A little mishap with the bill- charged for drink and bacon that was supposed to come with the kids breakfast, was corrected but after 2nd time of pointing it out, maybe waiter was new. I have come to this place many times and the atmosphere fascinates me, but our waitress ruined this experience completely, her name was Jessica. First time here. Mediocre food. Service was awful. Only one chance to make a first impression. Waitress disappeared halfway through meal. Manager said nothing to us. We waited three hours on a Saturday for a table. After three hours, they led us to a table, told us we wouldn't fit, then sat a different group there and made us wait longer! Finally split us into two tables not near each other. When it came time to pay, couldn't find our server for- no joke- a full hour after we finished eating. Even got up to go find her.
