Some even stop by just to say hi. This HK style cafe that has great service and comfort HK style food in the area. They also have breakfast for under $10 with eggs, protein, french toast and a bowl of noodles. Being used to the options in Burnaby and Vancouver, I'm giving this place 4 stars as it's one of the better ones in the City center of Coqitilam. Definitely not as fancy as Copa or Deer Garden, but the staff are personable and the food is decent at a good price point.

Best place for congee or any type of HK style breakfast. Prices are fair and the specials give you a whole lot of bang for your buck. Lunch and Dinner: MISS. When I test out a new chinese restaurant, I usually order the tomato and eggs on rice because it's a staple (I grew up in China) for me. It was extremely disappointing and a little gloopy? The tomatoes were overcooked and mushy and the eggs were blended into the sauce which made the texture thick in a bad way. Couldn't finish it and tomato and eggs on rice is one of my favorite dishes so I was pretty heartbroken. Overall, they definitely specialize in HK/Canto style dishes which they do extremely well but everything else is meh.

The hot and sour soup was excessively sour, the fried rice cakes was too sweet and the Dan Dan noodles was excessively salty. The buns (Xiao Long Bao and san ji Bao) were okay but the wrapping was on the thick side. Furthermore, the ingredients don't taste fresh and dishes such as the Dan Dan noodles are missing key ingredients like cucumbers and carrots. Service is good, and there are robots as well. Price is cheap, but the taste is just not good.

We decided to try Legend House again and order different items. It's still more expensive than our…read moreother Chinese restos but at least they're open later. For the good news: very generous portion of the thick and flavourful Sweet Corn & Chicken Soup; the wonderful surprise of biting into the dumplings and getting both the authentic taste of the pork filling and the burst of the well seasoned broth Shanghai "Xiao Long Bao" Soup Dumplings; the properly cooked with the right amount of garlic and spice Salt & Pepper Squid and; the ever reliable FR "Yang-Zhou" Style. Unfortunately, we didn't fare so well with the rest of our meal. I've always wanted to try the Dan-Dan Noodles and I even opted for the Blade-Sheared Noodles. The noodles were overdone and so soft and slimy. It also didn't help that the extremely oily peanut sauce tasted like melted store-bought peanut butter with a smattering of minced pork. It wasn't even spicy as described. We also ordered the ironically dry and plain Green Onion Beef with Black Pepper Sauce. Not sure if the sauce spilled or evaporated but the container was devoid of any liquid. If it wasn't for the wonderful baos, my revised rating would have been 2 stars. If we ever go back to Legend House, it's probably just for the dim sums otherwise I'll pass.

If you haven't had Taiwanese style chicken nuggets, you're missing out on life! Side dishes were just ok but I can't expect much since they're just sides. Ordered the honey milk tea with grass jelly and I'd say they do it just the way I like it. You can really taste that honey throughout the milk tea. Looking back as previous reviews regarding service, I can tell they've improved a lot on that front. Our server checked on us a couple times and was very friendly. This on a Friday night btw. It's definitely one of my top go to places for salty peppery chicken nuggets and honey milk tea. Would have given it 5 stars but you can get the same thing at bubble world for about $5 less.

We ordered a hot and sour soup and the egg rolls with green onions. the taste of the soup was alright but it had some interesting ingredients which are not usually part of the authentic hot and sour soup (such as cabbage and daikon). The egg rolls were alright as well but the egg needed more seasoning as it was very bland. The stars are mainly for the shaved ice. there were very nice selection of toppings for the shaved ice. We chose taro, grass jelly, condensed milk and mixed beans. I would recommend this restaurant for the desserts but not the food..

The beef noodle is really good and authentic. I love the chewiness of the noodle, the beef cut is tender and not too fatty. The soup is rich and aromatic, but not over salty like many other stores. I even drank most of the soup, and it didn't leave me thirsty. The tea is quite tasty but the peach flavor is a bit artificial, plus I find it too expensive, as they charge $7 for that. There's no bubble or coconut jelly, and is not like they use fruit puree for the tea like A Bento. I do look forward to go and try other dishes, as their bento, chicken nuggets and oyster pancakes seem appealing. Price is reasonable as well, if I am in the area, I'll definitely be back.

The inside has a total of 13 seats. Order and pay when you walk in. Menu is short with appetizers, eight entrees and bubble tea. - Beef noodle soup ($14.00) - broth was well rounded. Beef tender yet meaty. Wanted more pickled mustard. Good portion of noodles but wanted a firmer bite. - Dong po pork ($15.00) - all the side dishes were solid. Pork belly was decent but fatty and oily. Liked the lightly pickled cucumber. Rong Rong had some simple, comforting Taiwanese dishes. 3.5 stars.
