I went here yesterday after strolling around the mall and their menu grabbed my attention. I could've got something better, but thought Bubble Waffle must be as good as Deer Garden. It was nice seeing bunch of photos to help deciding what to eat. I ended up picking Hainanese Chicken Laksa( without hesitation) in flat rice noodles with iced tea. Iced tea was the first thing that came. It was so yummy and refreshing. Noodles took almost forever to come as the staff was too busy handling take put and dealing with complaints. Staff at least tried checking on me, but waiting wasn't worth my time. My dish had too much noodles less soup with gigantic pieces of chicken. Chicken was tender, but pretty bland. I thought it might have that Hainanese chicken flavour that is garlicky. The table next to me had an actual Hainanese Chicken with Rice which looked yummy. Deep fried squid looked yummy as well. I won't ever order noodle dish again and maybe get iced tea, bubble tea or bubble waffle instead. Soup wasn't too spicy, but it could use more flavours. Regardless of waiting 20 minutes of my food Laksa noodle was nothing special. Bland tasting chicken with tons of cabbages and carbs.

Looks like one of the newer locations for this HK style chain. My friend pointed out the Grand Opening sign. Parking is available along the W side of the City of Lougheed mall. Looks like they've torn down the large parkade next to the mall. The interior is pretty modern. The place is brand new after all. Staff were friendly and quick. Besides the regular menu, there was also a soup noodle combo form that looked quite a bit like the one from Deer Garden. The selection is noticeably less though for the custom menu, but the form also has a back side that has some preset combos. The bowl here is noticeably smaller than Deer Garden. Knock 1 star off. I tried a slice of my friend's roast duck. Super tender and delicious. Special mention. My friend and I also had the squid with cumin. To be honest this was a bit disappointing. The squid definitely wasn't fresh, and the sauce tasted like something out of a supermarket jug. It was also served in a small rectangular plastic tray. Basically it looked like something right off an in-flight meal. Basically this place seems to be hit and miss. The duck is 4 stars, my lamb laksa is 3 stars, and the squid with cumin is 2 stars.

Great combo deal! If you miss market food but don't want to go to the very busy night market, go to bubble waffle cafe instead! For $6 you get a whole potato twist and a cold drink. It tastes like a chip, the flavour I got was BBQ with a iced lemon tea, so refreshing! Follow me on IG: @foodiefishy

One of the best Hong Kong style restaurant in the Lougheed area. The restaurant owner came from Bubble waffle cafe at Aberdeen Centre in Richmond so standard for this restaurant is pretty high. The food is amazing, I have no complaints. Just a reminder that this is kinda like a fast food style restaurant, so expect to use plastic bowls and utensils. Price point is average, around $10-13 range. If you add $1 to your meal, you get a bubble waffle (original flavor) or waffle cake (with condense milk and peanut butter). It's an excellent deal that most other restaurants don't offer. Drinks are also included. The owner of this restaurant was also very friendly, he came over to our table and asked us about the experience. I definitely will be coming back here again.

Always got bubble waffles and drinks from other locations, but decided to try out a noodle combo for once! Very happy with my experience. Service: So friendly! Everyone was efficient, knowledgeable, and served with a smile. Ambience: Fun place to grab a quick bite with anyone; from a casual acquaintance, to any of your loved ones. Colourful appearance. Doesn't get loud even when busy! My Combo: - Mongolian Lamb Dry Noodles (stir fried w/ enoki mushrooms, broccoli, corn, and pepper sauce) - Hong Kong Coffee Milk Tea (choice of drink, comes with order) - Waffle Cake (additional $1, filled with peanut butter, condensed milk) All tasty, quick, filling for around $13 - $14!

    Oreo bubble waffle ($5ish)

My mom got hooked on the original bubble waffles here, and they've always been good. Today I switched it up and got the Oreo one for $5ish. It was just okay. If you tasted it without knowing what "flavour" it was, it wouldn't be obvious. I wouldn't bother getting the Oreo one again, but I'd for sure get the original!

This is my first time trying Haidilao, I was so impressed with the service. Food was fresh, we opted for unlimited meat, we had beef & lamb slices. There is an extra charge of the sauce bar, about $3 plus dollars. That includes dessert & their yummy congee as part of the sauce bar. There's even a show presentation on a popular Chinese mythology figure, The Monkey God. A thoroughly enjoyable meal. Service is prompt & good, our server Elvis was attentive & most helpful. Trying to reorder meat on their iPad was a bit challenging, there's too many options. We had Elvis helping us with the reordering. You are offered ice cream at the end of your meal too. Decor was cute, clean & inviting Fresh food, great service, paid parking in the mall parking.

Wait may be a bit long if you don't have a reservation (we made a reservation but came 30 minutes early and wanted to get in earlier), but they offer free snacks and drinks at the waiting area.

After that, we ordered from them again many, many times through the Fantuan app. The menu is simple. Basically rice and noodles, just as the name of the shop implies. They cook their food soooo well though! There's a deep "wok hei" flavor to their rice and noodles. They do also have a few other side dishes like gyoza and spring rolls which you can order, but basically we go to this place for the rice and noodles. This was the first time we actually dined in the restaurant instead of getting takeout. Highly recommend dining in! So good to eat the food fresh and hot. It's a great place to stop for a quicky, filling and tasty meal. You choose your base, then your protein, and then your level of spice. Pay at the counter, then sit down and they will bring the food out to you when it's ready. In our group we ordered some gyoza, chow mein, pad thai noodles and pad see ew noodles. I must have been hungrier than I realized, or else the food just tasted soooo good that I ended up eating my entire plate of noodles, when I really only needed about half the plate. The guy in front of me, Deng, looked at me with such envy as he cut in line. This place is incredibly popular! Every time I pass by, there's a long queue. Even on rainy days, people are willing to get soaked in the rain just to have a bowl of hot tonkotsu ramen. While you're queuing, the staff will hand out menus. The ordering system is similar to Ichiran Ramen; you can choose the noodle firmness, broth consistency, spiciness, green onions, oil level, and MSG amount . The basic ramen is only $13. I added a soft-boiled egg and pickled cabbage for $2 each. Although the pickled cabbage is really expensive , I can't help it, I'm a pickled cabbage addict! The pickled cabbage paired with the rich tonkotsu broth was refreshing. The broth was flavorful but not greasy, the noodles were chewy and springy, and the portion size was just right. Overall, it's incredibly good value for money; no wonder there's always a queue. After eating, you really get that "Ah~ this is the taste of happiness" feeling

I had the goma vegetarian and my brother the tonkatsu. We both had thicker noodles. However, one could not tell. The vegetarian was loaded with sesame seeds. Now i love those seeds but it was way too much for my liking. Too much seeds to chew on. They also do not put any vegetables on like Hawaii does. Everything is ala carte and that adds up. I simply chose the ramen version without all the add ons. The broth was yummy but again with the loaded seeds, it made it challenging to just drink the soup. I will say, Hawaii has by far better ramen, but this place was ok too. Pricey for for what you get though.
