I didn't like that you had to order with a QR code and got weird options not correlating with the hard copy menu but luckily we were able to order with our server. We got fish hot pot with lamb, curry beef brisket (Deer Garden is still the best for that), and gyoza. My friend treated and said the bathroom was really dirty, so minus one star for that. The posted hours for Bubble World Coquitlam say they are open until 12:00am, but they clearly don't honour that closing time. We arrived at 11:46pm to order two bubble teas and were told they don't serve them after 11:45pm, even though the restaurant is advertised as open until midnight. This is the second time we've come shortly before closing and been refused service, so it's obviously not a one‑off misunderstanding. If you stop serving bubble tea at 11:45pm, then your hours should say you close at 11:45pm, not 12:00am. I will never return to this establishment, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone expecting late‑night service. If "Bubble World" is the name of your restaurant and you claim to be open until midnight, you should serve customers until midnight instead of cutting off orders early and starting to shut down before trading hours are actually over. read more

We came here for a quick snack after going to the Korean Spa. The bubble tea is really yummy... I like the passion fruit green tea with less ice, half sugar and rainbow jelly. We had some pork and cabbage dumplings that were delicious and definitely tasted homemade. The condensed milk toast was soft fluffy and sweet, exactly as it should be. The location was clean and cute with lots of searing and a really friendly staff. Only disappointment was there were no bubble waffles, which we were really craving, but everything we had was yummy regardless and we were happy we stopped there to refuel after our spa day. read more

We love this little jem. The first time it opened a few years ago, with all the hype and crowd, we weren't too impressed and so we wrote it off, but we thought we should give it one more try so we did. To our surprise, we found that they also do the pepper chicken nuggets which was excellent. Then they have the pineapple prawns, they call shrimps instead. That's our favorite. Then they have the pork chops on fried rice, excellent. Their fish on fried rice was also to our taste, that was a surprise too. Lucky we went back. Their dishes were not small and their prices were reasonable, a couple of dollars lower than others. Besides, the restaurant is only a block away from where we live! I took 2 stars off because staff weren't attentive. My bf and I waited 20 mins for them to take our order. We both ordered the salt and pepper chicken nugget rice platter and two drinks. I got mine first but his came after 10 mins and they didn't give him his drink until 15 mins after into his meal. We had to wait around again and stick our hand up in the air hoping one of the servers would notice us to get a to go container. The food and drink was good. After seeing the other reviews maybe I lucked out and came on a good day. This is the view for their afternoon Tea special that happens between 130 to 430 on weekdays. I ordered deep fried squid tails with a side of noodles for $10.50 and my friend ordered a veggie hot pot for $12. During the afternoon tea special you get a bubble tea with each order for free and you can add pearl for $.50. this is a very good deal as a bbt will run you $5 during regular hours! The deep fried squid was well done the batter was light. The noodles on the side werevbouncy. The hot pot though nothing to write home about Was warm and satisfying. The milk tea w pearl was full of tea flavour, not overly sweet (ordered half sweet) and pearls had the perfect chew. I'll definitely make this one of my regular spots for a late lunch. read more

I wish I could tell you how the food was. I went in to the restaurant to eat before work. I ordered food and a white chocolate oreo slush, with light pearls. That, I can say was pretty good. After sitting and waiting for 35 minutes, I finally asked if the food would be much longer, I need to leave for work. One of the two women working went to look into my order and try and find the other woman who took the order. I told her, if I was forgotten about, I just need to go, I don't have time to wait again. She rang in the drink (I only ordered because I was going to eat) and that was that. No acknowledgement of the mistake or saying hey, I'm gonna take a buck off your seven dollar drink. Nothing. People make mistakes, I totally understand that. I was more frustrated that nothing at all was said to validate that I could justifying upset. I said thank you and left. Bubble World used to be my partner and I's go-to place when we both couldn't decide on a restaurant to eat at--we always knew we could rely on our staple orders to fulfill and satisfy our needs. However, our most recent visit to Bubble World will unfortunately be our last, at least at this location. The restaurant wasn't busy at all, there were five other families seated but they had already been served and were eating/enjoying their meals. We were given menus, told to take a seat at a table and that a waitress would be with us shortly. We waited 20 minutes. No one came by our table. We always set our menus down so that they hang slightly off the side of the table to indicate that we are ready to order no matter where we go out to eat. This was ignored multiple times. We made eye contact with the waitress but we were ignored. An older couple entered the restaurant and were helped to a table next to us, their orders were taken right away. The waitress came back towards our table and we finally thought we were going to be able to order our food however she started to clean the empty tables around us. I would give 3.5 stars. Great customer service. Great interior design. They have a wide variety of food and drinks on the menus. We ordered beef noodles in soup and a kimchi hot pot. They were delicious, but there were only four or five small pieces of beef. We would not mind the restaurant charged us a bit more but we could get more beef. The kimchi hot pot was better than the beef noodles in soup. There were lots of veggies, meat and fish balls, a couple frozen prawns, tofu and a bowl of rice. The hot pot had a lot of cooked food inside but it was supposed to have a small fire or flame at the bottom of the pot. There was none. Some frozen prawns or shrimps are good, but these two I had at Bubble World in Coquitlam was bad that I had to spit it out. The hot or cold drinks here have a big portion. We ordered a bubble tea drink and asked a server to split the drink into two small cups. It was great that they could do it for us. We asked for the drink to go. When a server brought the drink to us, she emphasized that we were not allowed to drink it in the restaurant. It must be outside the restaurant. They were very strict on drinks for take out. We had an "okay" experience at this bubble tea place. There are not too many Taiwanese restaurants in Coquitlam. This is a bigger and better one though. The food was OK. Price is decent, but awful service. Arrived at ~1600. Ordered the food and food came in 15 min. 5 min after the food arrived, the waiters already asking to pay the bill because they were switching shift. OK, fair enough. Paid the bill in cash as they don't take cridit card, and waiter got us the change. After another 5 min, the waiter came again and asked to take away the change because the shift change. Seriously? If you guys can't figure out how to divide the tips, it's not the customer's fault. Feel sorry for the next shift people as they cleaned our table and did not get any penny from the tip. read more

Noodles with the perfect amount of chew and bounce, super flavourful and balanced beef broth, the brisket for my preference, could've been more tender but was tasty also. When bubble tea was first introduced to Vancouver around15+ years ago, there was the Bubble World restaurant on Kingsway near Metrotown. It was the go-to place for bubble tea that was more than powdered drinks and included an aray of selections that included tea. This was before the age of "what percentage of ice and sugar do you want" and before there was anything other than pearls and coconut jelly. Heck - this was before coconut jelly! So basically, if you go back to the beginning of time.. there was Bubble World and Bubble World was gooooood. It's the place you go to at midnight for your late night snackings and the place every high schooler wanted to hang out at. Now forward 15+ years later into 2019, Bubble World has become pretty much of a staple around town. It's not the best nor is it the worst. This Coquitlam Centre restaurant has been open for around 2 years now and it's our go-to place for a cheap individual hot pot (~$13-14) and drinks. It's not fancy shmancy like what you would find elsewhere at a hot pot specialized restaurant but it'll do for Coquitlam. There's around 4-5 different soup selections (my personal favourite is the tofu vegetable hot pot and my husband loves the spicy hot pot) and then you choose your protein (beef, pork, or lamb - sorry vegetarians!). Another hidden gem at this Bubble World for me is their topical fruit tea. It's pretty much Bubble World's version of the ever so popular Yifang fruit tea but made with a water base. For $5.50 - it'll do! The water base actually works in favor when I'm here at night and don't want any caffeine in me. Another favourite of mine is their Taiwanese fried chicken nuggets which I combo with a side noodle. If you're a student or have the time around 2pm to 4pm on Mondays to Thursday for a meal, they also have a happy hour menu. The waitresses/waiters can be blunt but their service has always been impeccable and fast. When the service is slow it's usually because they're understaffed that day or extremely busy. In fact, I've always only found their workers to be extremely hard working. You'll always find them rushing to finished tables to clean up as fast as they can so that the next patrons can sit down or multitasking 3 ways. I'm not saying everything is perfect at Bubble World though. Everyone has different tastes and we definitely went through a lot of trial and error before we found what works for us. There are dishes that just aren't that great or gave little for the value we paid (ie. spicy Taiwanese beef noodle) or days where we couldn't flag down a waiter or they forgot our order altogether (that happened once). But over the years we found what we like and we always come back for more. read more

This is the 3rd time I've been to a Bubble World and this is the better of all 3 experiences. I like that this is so close to my home. It's just off of Lougheed, across the street from Coquitlam Centre and one of the new skytrain stops and there's plenty of parking. We came in for a very late lunch (4'sh) on a Wednesday and was very surprised at how many people were snacking or even lunching. The hostess and the wait staff were very polite and friendly as we were sat in a very comfortable booth. It has a casual, young Asian vibe to the place. The music was a bit loud for me...but then again I'm getting old! I ordered the Black Pepper beef with Noodles and a Taro ice cream slushie with pearls. I was so surprised when I received my piping hot noodle dish in less than 5 minutes! I'm gonna be honest here as I didn't expect to eat a very good dish here but my noodles were not greasy and had a hint of smokiness that made me want to eat more. There was plenty of thinly sliced beef marinated in the sauce. It also had lots of gai lan (chinese broccoli) to add texture and goodness to the dish. The plentiful sauce was spicy and packed a lot of flavour. My bubble tea was served in a giant "stein" and was a very thick, creamy and sweet treat and a great foil for my spicy noodle dish. Both servings were generous and quite tasty. The chicken has an overload of fried garlic, no complaints, just make sure you're not headed to a function or seeing friends! This Bubble World in Coquitlam is newly opened and it used to be Sui Sha Ya. I had been wanting to try this new location to see what all the hype was about since it opened but they're not open for lunch -- only dinner from 6pm onwards. So we went here around 7pm last night and it was full! Had to wait around 15 minutes to get a table for 2 but it wasn't too bad. It'd probably be even crazier on the weekend though. I ordered the Beef Noodle in Soup. It was pretty good. Nice flavour of the broth and I liked the Chinese pickled mustard greens that they put in it (although it may not be for everyone). The noodles were fresh too and had good consistency. My only complaint is that the beef wasn't tender enough. It was kind of tough and bits of it would get stuck in my teeth.. lol. Otherwise, it wasn't bad and it's something I would order again. NW got the Taiwanese Salt & Pepper Chicken Nuggets with Noodle Soup. He said the soup was slightly salty and the chicken was a bit dry but it had good flavour and it was pretty decent overall. We both ordered bubble tea to go along with our meals as well. The glasses don't look very big but they actually hold quite a bit! The drink was what filled me up. Their portion sizes aren't that big so I'd suggest getting a drink to go along with it. They have quite a large selection of flavours and even toppings. Instead of the typical pearls, I opted for their Rainbow Jelly and NW got the pudding. The Rainbow Jelly was just meh for me. They were all different colours but I didn't taste any difference between them--they were all just sweet and it seemed just like food colouring to me. Maybe I'll stick with the pearls next time. :P Overall, not too shabby considering they've just recently opened. The food wasn't amazing by any means but I'm glad there's a new Taiwanese restaurant around the area that's not too pricy and I can see myself coming back multiple times since they have a good variety of menu items. The Coquitlam bubble world location has recently just opened. Their parking area is not too friendly as it is too small. The service here was attentive which was a nice change for bubble tea places. Food was also good as well and served relatively fast. There seems like there's a lot more staff here compared to their Kingsway and guildford location. read more

Their noodles and dumplings are alright. Their hot pot? Fewer good things to say about it. We ordered hot pot because we've seen others having it and the presentation looked nice. The soup turned out to be quite bland and they really skimped on the meat. I think I'll just stick to the Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot next door for my hot pot fix... I'll still come back to Bubble World, but it will mainly be for the bubble tea which needs improvement too (if you order it with pearls). Love Bubble World ever since long ago. I always order the combo meals and always appreciated the different side dishes it comes with even though you don't know what they will be. This location based on food is good. The deep fried squid although needs to be fried and rested more the last time I was in it was a bit on the chewy side... I figured cause it was so busy that they have rushed it which is ok I still ate it and it tasted the same anyway. This location although can be busy. For those who come here not so often you would probably be irritated or impatient at service but mind you I think most of the time the place is understaffed, the servers do try their best to attend to you and get things flowing. I generally enjoy coming to bubble world, I often go to Metrowtown location. I work in this area, one lunch time I thought of coming in and checking it out. It was pretty empty. New modern looking restaurant. The server was friendly. The food was meh. I ordered a spicy chicken cutlet, made it into a combo. Not worth it. The chicken dish was nothing special. Looked good but lacked flavour. I was hungry so I ate it. I kept biting into big chunks of garlic and peppers, which you would think could add flavour but it wasn't cooked with the cutlet just added on tops. The breading of the chicken and chicken itself was the bland. Don't bother making it into a combo, waste of $2.50. Came with a small bowl of rice, a pickled salad, and a weird soupy tomato egg thingy. I hated both of it. Ok hate is a strong word, I disliked it! I most likely wont come back to this location. I get take out here every Saturday for my workplace and typically it's fine and uneventful. We typically get 2-3 food items and about 4-5 bubble teas. The food is great, we've yet to find something on the menu that wasn't good. The drinks are the same - anything ending in ice cream slush is really good. Not too sweet, but full of flavour. The times there are issues though, such as forgetting items on your take out order, the response you get is random. If you get Cindy? who I believe is one of the managers there, she handles it like a champ. She would apologize, ask you if it's okay for you to come back and pick it up, and gives you an extra bag of salt/pepper nuggets (which are so good!) without even asking for it. Great response and I felt okay with just thinking that it was a mistake, no problem - they acknowledged it. But today, I got Vivien. I had ordered over the phone, and added another few items with a follow-up call after. I picked up the food, and the last item was missing despite it being on my receipt. She apologized about the inconvenience. That's great, but she immediately followed it with "maybe next time please order together". Sorry, but if it's on the receipt, that wasn't the issue. They did not even know what was missing on the receipt and when I said what was missing, she took out the food that wasn't missing from the bag that she was about to give me. This time, all I could think about was how I just wasted 40 minutes driving back and forth twice, how my food was cold and my bubble tea wasn't a slush anymore. They were all very good for take out. The fried food was less crispy but it is really hard to keep take out food crispy so I wouldn't blame them! I went to the restaurant to grab a bubble tea to go at 11:45. When I got there, the open sign was on. I waited in line for a couple of minutes while the other customers were served. During the wait, I noticed a worker turn off the open sign. As the customers in front of me stepped aside, another worker approached the front desk and informed me that they were closed. I told her that they weren't closed when I arrived. She just shrugged her shoulders. I am particularly bothered because I felt a sense of racism. All the other customers that were waiting for their to go orders were Asian. I felt like as soon as it was the white guys turn, they decided no more orders could be taken. I am very disappointed and regret I came for lunch. It serves Taiwanease style meals and drinks. It seems a popular place for young people. However both quality and quantity of food are fallen short. With the price I paid, I expected to see much better and more. I am sure there are better Taiwanease food somewhere else. First the bubble tea menu (unless you are a bubble tea enthusiast like me) was a little confusing, the actual bubble tea was very good but with a name like bubble world I was expecting fantastic beyond belief, so I was a bit let down. THE FOOD was so good, we especially loved any of the noodle dishes (udon etc). The gyoza was fine but when compared to the other dishes it felt less wow. Overall they r consistent in flavour and usually pretty good when i call in my take out order. Nice they have food like the new west location. Definitely my go-to place for bubbletea, their plain milk tea is the best! Only 4 stars cuz limited parking, sometimes service isn't great and usually the heat is cranked up in there.
