I also love their jalapeño cheddar bagels & love love that they give you TWO cream cheese spreadables!! The coffee is decent, a less-over roasted version of Starbucks. However, the service at this location is especially poor. This morning, Conso at the inside register told me that they could not make my iced latte with a blend of nonfat and whole milk, that "it's one way or the other." What a bunch of crap, and such an easy modification to make as a barista. If a coffee shop does not carry 2% milk, then it should at least train its staff how to approximate the guest's request. Tried a new drink today, and I do not know who I pissed off when I asked (if the cup can be lined with caramel ) sorry fir the starbucks lingo; to which I was informed it has drizzle but I asked for extra caramel (I like extra sweet). First time sit down and enjoy my coffee here, it was pretty nice. Staffs are very nice and friendly, spacious area with clean and neat tables/chairs. There are outdoor sitting as well. I always try the new item when coming to a new coffee shop, I ordered the new Honey Oat Latte with light ice and 25% sweetness and I am very amazed. Placed an order through their app for a grande Caramel Ice Blended and it did not disappoint, It was as expected and very good. Gave me the caffeine boost I needed for the drive home! I go to this Coffee Bean maybe twice a month because it's 10 mins from my home, and although I really like the two types of ice blended drinks that I order, I find the inside staff to never be that friendly, including the "acting manager" once. I made a complaint to their online comments directly several times. I received an email response asking for the details and I responded, but nothing happened after that; no follow-up phone call, apology or possibly a gift card in the mail for receiving rude service multiple times. I love my city of Monrovia, and unfortunately, I think THIS establishment DOESN'T carry on the overall friendly and welcoming feeling that most of Monrovia exudes to people here. read more

If you want dirty looks and a bad attitude this is the place to come. 1 star for the service here. Very poor. Every time I come here I'm never greeted with a smile or a hello. It's the stereotypical genZ girls that just stare at you and act like you're an inconvenience. My drink was made wrong and I walked back up to the counter to ask for the correct topping and was ignored for 5 minutes while they just walked back and forth right in front of me when I finally flagged someone down she told me it would be a dollar charge. I said the drink was supposed to already come with it on top so there shouldn't be a charge. I worked at coffee bean back in the day and we would have all been written up if we acted like that at work. I've been coming to The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf for over a year now, so I feel comfortable that my review will reflect a pattern rather than any given good or bad day. As it happens, I am happy to report that I've only had positive experiences at this location. Food: I don't order food here, just drinks, so my review will focus on the beverages. The avocado toast does look good, so perhaps someday I'll try it. My whole family likes Coffee Bean, so we often buy 5 or 6 drinks at a time, and we come nearly every day, The drinks are always well-made and filled to the rim. Whether buying iced teas, ice-blended drinks, or black brewed coffee (my personal go-to drink), everything is always terrific. Another bonus to Coffee Bean is the option to purchase fresh ground coffee tailored to my brewing needs. We use a reusable K-cups at home, and the grind setting Coffee Bean uses is perfect. Service: The service is great. The baristas are always friendly and professional, and they point out when I have a coupon or other deal. I'm glad I don't have to remember to ask for deals, for if I did, I'd always forget. Drinks fly out quickly, and unlike some places that I won't mention by name, the cups are always clean. No sticky chocolate fingers at Coffee Bean! I have a habit of not mentioning staff by name in my reviews, but I do have several baristas at The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf whom I recognize and look forward to seeing. Ambiance: I normally go through the drive-thru, so there really isn't a lot in the way of ambience there, but I do on occasion go in to the store--usually when the drive-thru is packed. It's a Coffee Bean, so of course the inside of the store smells of the most delightful ground coffee, a major upside to me. There is plenty of seating (again, unlike other major coffee chains), and the store is always clean. Right now, it's summertime and quite warm, but the inside of the Coffee Bean is nice and cold, as though beckoning me to come and stay a while. Overall, this is a wonderful location with delicious drinks, friendly staff, and plenty of seating. I have been coming to this location for coffee. Love the smell of coffee bean's coffee. They recently remodeled, and there a lot more space and feel inside. I always order the dark chocolate latte, and this is my favorite drink. They were able to make this perfectly. This location is next to a gas station, and parking could be limited. However, there are more parking spaces in the back after they remodeled. Will continue to come back. read more

Use your APP COUPONS people they HATE when you do & let's not mention when you combine 2 coupons together god forbid we do LOL they get a heart attack. Coffee Bean has great tea and coffees. The service is always good and they are very accommodating. Easy access due to the drive thru window. The atmosphere is really nice and modern inside. Only thing I do not like is that their drive thru is shared with a gas station. If you go inside the coffee shop you can get blocked from the cars in the drive thru line. They do not have many parking spots. They need to add more variety of drinks too. Most of the drinks are the basic ones with only a few different ones. read more

I don't know what is going on with this store on the corner of Shamrock and Huntington, but lately the lobby is closed and there is no indication of that when ordering online through the app. So when you get there, you have to get in this long line of cars in the drive-through before receiving your online coffee order. This has made me late for an appointment once, as I time my Coffee pick-up pretty close to my appointments... when I pick it up in the lobby, this isn't an issue. ------------ to CBTL Corporate: I hope somebody from the CBTL corporate office reads this and fixes the problem. I have always been a fan of Coffee bean and Tea leaf. I prefer Coffee Bean because their roasts are less acidic than charbucks.I don't like bitter and burnt coffee. We decided to go to this location on a Saturday morning, no line. I guess most people where going through the drive thru. We ordered ice blended hazelnut coffee and my regular Cafe latte. Both drinks were made perfect. ( Even if they are supposed to be following a guide, some locations make it either too sweet or too bland.) So happy with our drinks. I order a tea from them and it tastes just like water so I've asked them to add liquid sugar cane every single time and every single time I add more because it tastes like water. I've sampled from 4 pumps all the way up to 12 pumps and it all tastes like water which is absolutely impossible unless they just aren't adding the pumps. If I ordered water and asked for 12 pumps of sugar cane I'd taste it so they clearly just don't add in what is requested. I've now gone to the extent of just buying my own liquid sugar cane to add in later which is absolutely ridiculous. read more

I love coffee shops with a drive-thru. Why? Because I'm always on the go! On days when I have a lot of errands, I need that coffee fix pronto! This establishment never has a crazy drive-thru line unlike other drive thru coffee houses. They have decent food options as well for a quick bite while on the road. I ordered the egg white wrap, which wasn't bad at all! The best part about ordering from Coffee Bean is the ice and powder mix! I'm a sucker for their ice. I could crunch on ice from Coffee Bean all day! It's kind of a stress reliever. The Cold Brew Coffee with a scoop of vanilla is so perfect to me. It gives me the right amount of sweetness tagged with a good caffeine kick! Personal tip: Don't forget to ask for a cup of water with extra ice to balance out that coffee! read more

Do not come to this location!!!! My husband ordered a drink without knowing that the ingredients contain whole milk. He is lactose intolerant. When he voiced this to the barista, he just brushed off the issue and said he couldn't do anything about that and closed the drive-thru window. So rude!
