Baskin Robbins in Monrovia is located in the downtown district, in the same shopping mall as Vons and Noodle St. There's about 3 other ice cream shops nearby but you get better rewards through their rewards program. Convenient location for me since it's near the kiddo's school. It's a great little shop to hop in and get some ice cream treats for afternoon snack or anytime. Been here multiple times and usually doesn't get too crowded. There is ample parking in a shared lot with many other stores. They have special items here that I don't really see in other BR stores. They have a Dubai chocolate ice cream bar! The one thing I also like is their mini ice cream cakes which are about 10$ each and technically serves one person but you could cut it up and have maybe 8-10 small mini slices if everyone's on the health conscious side. read more

This is a pretty spacious store so easy for social distancing. I ordered a banana split. If you download the Baskin Robbins app you will find various deals. One for this month was a banana split for $5. Pretty good! Due to COVID restrictions you have to get it to-go. The person who helped me made sure my ice cream did not get ruined haha....he sealed the container with lots of tape! What a beautiful creation when I opened the container. Writing this more so as an observation. And having read through most of the latest reviews I think it's accurate to say there is a customer service issue. I don't understand working at a family- friendly business, such as serving ice cream, which is by design a sprinkle of joy in people's day and not hiring people who exude joy themselves. More times than not, we are not greeted at all when we walk in and the person behind the counter never once smiles or makes eye contact. They ask what we would like and serve the ice cream as if we are burdening them and bothering whatever it is that they wish they were doin instead. The only other words spoken is when they turn the tip screen around and ask to finish paying. I have to request my receipt and I still say thank you with a smile to not even receive a thank you in return or a smile in return. I just don't get what is going on and why this "service" so consistent. Must be management. read more

He is a shift supervisor who is beyond unwelcoming. As my family walked in, we went in ungreeted. He almost didn't acknowledge us. We had 5 orders, and each seemed to take up too much of his "busy" time. As a family establishment, one would think that the employees promote welcoming behavior. When coming to this location, if Kevin isn't working, don't order a milkshake. Almost every time my family orders a milk shake ($7 each so it's not cheap) the employee will roll their eyes or just walk away and start slamming the blender. There have been several occasions where they dint even fill the cup or the shake is spilling all over the sides. Before you think this is a one off situation, we have been coming here weekly, sometimes twice a week to get my kids shakes. This isn't someone having a bad day, this is the consistency of the staff not wanting to make the shakes. I cannot believe how upset these employees get when you order something on the menu. My husband, our little girl dog and I came here yesterday after 7:30 pm, since we were in the mood for ice cream in this crazy heat wave. We ended up ordering: Single Scoop, $3.29, after tax- My husband opted to get a scoop of pistachio. I did not get a chance to have any but my husband and our little girl seemed to like it (please see my photo). I saw that there were actual pistachio nuts in the ice cream which is nice for an added texture and crunch. You have the option of getting this in a cup or in a cone, with no extra charge for a cone (extra charge for a waffle cone). Kids Single Scoop, $3.09 after tax-I wanted something small and decided upon strawberry. The kid size really was a good portion for me, although the small single scoop is a little larger if you prefer a bit more ice cream to indulge your sweet tooth. My ice cream was creamy and I liked that there were pieces of frozen strawberries in the ice cream. ------------------------ (Total= $6.38 after tax) Please note that butterscotch flavor (Scoops Ahoy USS Butterscotch Slime) is a special flavor right now, because of Netflix's Stranger Things show (great show by the way). The fat kid in me rediscovered Baskin Robbins ice cream, so I've been a somewhat steady customer of BR for almost a year now, especially because BR carries green tea ice cream. I've had both good and bad experiences at this location, but the good outweighs the bad (it tends to depend on who is working that day). I appreciate this spot because it's a convenient walk from anywhere in Old Town Monrovia and a good place to grab dessert should you already had dinner next door at Blaze Pizza or Noodle St. The last few visits were some of my better ones: 1) Because the green tea ice cream was back in stock (it was temporarily gone for parts of the summer) and peppermint ice cream season (for December) is going on. 2) Because of Ruby and David. So far of all the employees I've encountered, they've been the friendliest and most helpful. Hope to continuously catch them during their shifts. If you end up a frequent customer like me, make sure you sign up for their rewards program app. Coupons for things like $1 off a freshly packed container of ice cream, buy one get one 99 cent cones, and $3 off ice cream cakes are loaded on the app fairly regularly. I'm not sure about you guys, but I've yet been to a Baskin Robbins where their fridges are FULL of delicious ice cream cakes! Each and every one I've been to have only a few cakes leftover and you're forced to purchase the remaining cakes. Another thing I've noticed is-- each Baskin Robbins I've been to has a Yelp Check-in Offer. Usually it is buy one get one free, but the employees are never aware of these deals! They always treat me as if I've made it up and they have to call in their manager/ boss to double check if it's real. I think Baskin Robbins need to make their employees aware of these check in deals, so I won't have to keep patiently waiting for them to get off the phone with their manager/ boss. I purchased a cookies and cream ice cream cake for my cousin's 14th birthday party. It fed well over 20 people and I paid ~$38 for the ice cream cake. I also utilized the BOGO deal for some ice cream cones. I would definitely come back to this location. On 7/17/17, I found out late in the afternoon it was National Ice Cream Day. So we got in our car and came here. The place is like any other standard size BR location. A giant freezer in the front stored prepackaged cartons & cakes. Prices have gone up since I last went to any BR, but then again, I paid more at those trendy hipster joints. 1 scoop is at 3.99 & 2 scoops for 4.79. We got 4 different flavors: Watermelon: red w black dots, light refreshing and more like a sorbet. Birthday cake: full of color and little cake pieces. Not bad but seen them in markets Pineapple coconut: still common, but reminds me of vacations, so I liked it Snickers: also in markets, but hey ... there are Snicker pieces in there. Service was great. The girl, I think Jackie helped us and was very pleasant. The other staff members kept busy helping customers and wiped down tables. There's nothing wrong with this BR, it's just the flavors were underwhelming and not very original & I feel like they can be found in stores.
