Their cold brew was perfect and with the cafe de olla foam, delicious. The breakfast was fully loaded with a spicy salsa on the side. It was delicious but they are premade ahead of time so when reheated, the tortilla tends to be a bit crunchy. Next visit, I will for sure get some pan dulce.

The shop itself is cute and very small, definitely geared more toward carryout, although there are a couple of chairs where we sat and enjoyed our treats. The owner was working and couldn't have been nicer. She walked us through the different cupcakes, including the miniature versions, and you can tell she takes a lot of pride in what she makes. We each tried three cupcakes, and I also had a brookie (brownie x cookie), which was delicious. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. It's not inexpensive, but we thought the quality made it a good value. Six cupcakes plus the brookie came to just over $20. If you're in the Duarte/Monrovia area and looking for a great cupcake, something sweet, or a custom cake, Sweet Nothings is definitely worth checking out. We'll be back!

The Vanilla Latte came in a paper cup (a bit bummed out by not being able to take a more IG worthy picture of that), but it actually tasted really good! Same with the sausage links - it was probably one of the best tasting ones I've had for breakfast in a while. Aside from their wide selection of pastries and food options, their customer service was phenomenal. Every customer that walked through the door was greeted upon arrival and thanked on their way out. The restaurant was very clean and the cakes looked so beautiful behind the glass case. I had a pleasant experience today at Merengue Bakery & Cafe and can't wait to come back soon to try a slice of their chocolate cake!

The donut shop itself is small but thankfully they have plenty of parking in a shared lot with a few other businesses. Inside like any donut shop you order at the counter, pay and head out. It's small inside so they keep it moving. The husband and wife duo owners are lovely and efficient. Nice people and I love supporting a local business that has been able to last the test of time. New donuts and trendy donuts come and go but I'm happy people see this place for its worth and value the art that goes into making these donuts so consistent and delicious all of these years.
