I came here with a friend after dinner to get some dessert. There was no line, so we were able to try some samples and order right away. I tried the lychee and matcha soft serve flavors, and ended up getting the matcha flavor. Those flavors were good, the lychee and matcha were pungent. But the texture of the soft serve wasn't my favorite. The texture wasn't my favorite, it was more of an icy texture as oppose to a creamy silky texture which I would have preferred. I usually like the Oreo topping on my soft serve since it gives it a crunch, but it just didn't taste that good after a few bites. This soft serve was also a bit pricey, it was around $7 for the soft serve and topping, which was a bit disappointing since it wasn't that great. My friend also got their crunchy nut ice cream and didn't like it. I wish I liked this place more since they have Asian flavors but unfortunately it wasn't my favorite. I don't know how to describe it honestly. The charcoal is citrusy flavored. We got it with a waffle cone that was already leaking in the bottom when the employee handed it to us. Hence why my significant other has napkins on the bottom of the cone. (See photo below) The charcoal is like it's almost as if they put the mixed fruity flavor in the machine but mixed with charcoal powder. The blue cookie. Where is the cookie? WHERE. IS. IT?! Again, another water based almost icy "soft served" that's not soft what so ever. I got it with the bubble waffle and Frosted Flakes as the topping. Did I mention that both the charcoal "soft served" with waffle cone and blue cookie "soft served" with a bubble waffle and Frosted Flakes topping was $21 (we tipped also to help support small businesses but sheesh) as much as I love dessert we didn't finish either of these so called treats because it just wasn't good or what others would say, "it wasn't the vibe." Cute little shop for the indoor decor, there are benches and tables/chairs. Great for friends and family to hang out. Staffs are friendly and patiently introducing the menu to us. Visited this place on a Saturday evening it wasn't too busy, we were assisted promptly and the service was friendly. So far so good. Unfortunately, this might have been a case of reality vs expectations. The description on yelp says, "rolled ice cream and soft serve with seasonal flavors." Updating my review from previous. I have made a view visits back since my 1st review. Fortunately, my experiences improved. I have tried their soft serves and drinks (cappuccino and lattes) and were quite satisfied. The lattes and cappuccinos were smooth and not overwhelming. Their soft serves have good flavor and were milky + not too sweet. I also tried their pistachio ice cream - it was a bit sweeter than I'd like, but the flavor was good and the chunks of pistachio added a nice crunch to it. I like that they rotate flavors every so often. Still not quite 5 stars because the service is always a bit lacking in my opinion. Service is always on the slower side and they frequently need me to repeat my order 2-3 times, which is a bit annoying. Either I can't speak properly or they have hearing problems lol. I paid $6.75 for a scoop of vanilla and lemon sorbet. I had to wait 20 MINUTES for one scoop of vanilla and some ice cream on the side the slightly resembled a squished slather of lemon sorbet. The ratio of vanilla to lemon sorbet was 5 to 1. The vanilla took up 90 percent of the cup. When the server put down the cup, her face expressed that she had fought a difficult battle while scooping ice cream. She practically slammed the cup down with a dramatic sigh. In other ice cream shops, the server either points to where the spoons are, or give you a spoon. This server didn't even look at me. I had to find the spoons myself. It was not sweet and definitely captured that matcha flavor which I thoroughly enjoyed. They have soft serve, rolled ice cream, and scooped ice cream. Only downside is they only offered 3 soft serve flavors, but great as they had 6 rolled flavors and 6 scooped flavors. Wouldn't recommend the scoops as they were super tiny. Saw someone order a single scoop and it looked like the portion size was for a toddler. My husband tried the affogato which was not good. Scoops were so tiny and espresso shots were super strong, possibly burnt. There was no balance and it really should come in a drinkable cup considering the type of dessert. Cute little shop with a very small parking lot hidden behind the row of stores (around 8 spots in total, if I recall correctly). The theme continuity throughout the store had me cracking up the whole time. For some reason, the past hype surrounding rolled ice cream has quite literally been wiped off the face of Southern California. I've never been the biggest ice cream fan, but I love the texture of rolled ice cream. I was originally excited to try out this store, since I saw a few Asian flavors offered (ex. matcha) on past menu photos. Once I actually arrived, the only flavors listed on the menu for rolled ice cream were vanilla and chocolate. Server was accommodating and added strawberries to mash into the vanilla. Ended up eating the strawberry rolled ice cream with 3 free toppings (mango, strawberry and mochi). The list of toppings offered was extensive. I really enjoyed the simple cute decors at this ice cream spot. Yelp check in gives a free coke upgrade meaning you can get something like the charcoal cone for free! I tried the milk tea soft serve which was actually really on point to how milk tea tastes. Also tried the dark pineapple which was pretty much just pineapple but black colored. Flavor wise this place hit the spot. The different cone flavors is pretty awesome too, definitely try out the charcoal cone. I will say the price here is a bit more on the pricey side for ice cream, it's like $8 for soft serve and a cone upgrade but it is located in Arcadia. Please update your website. We came today and there were very few flavors of ice cream. I ended up getting the "matcha" ice cream. It was too pale green matcha, not tasting like matcha at all, more of milk. It was not creamy, it was falling off the cone maybe that's why it was served upside down in a cup. I ordered IndoMie noodles for my son and i was charged $6 for it with no toppings. She cooked it and served in a bowl. I think it's freaking overpriced!! The ice cream was tasteless, the website and yelp reviews were outdated. Misleading. We will never come back here again. Much better, close down your shop! I was so excited to try this place from the reviews on Yelp but I was disappointed overall. Maybe it was just what I ordered? Parking: small lot in back or 24 minute street parking. Yes 24 minutes, very specific I ordered 2 scoops, strawberries & cream and chocolate mint (or something). The ice cream itself is very whipped and airy-- not my cup of tea. There was a large frozen strawberry that was in the middle of the cup so I had to wait for it to melt in order to break it down. Rarely am I ever catfished by a menu item... My mom, brother, and I came here last week because we were craving something sweet on a hot day. I was eyeing the soft serve section of the menu, cookie dough in particular because I love cookie dough. Usually, cookie dough flavors are a kind of cream color, but here at Pond Ice Cream, it was bright blue! It should be named Cookie Monster, or my brother suggested Smurf. It was sweet, inside hollow (photos attached) made my lips and tongue blue, and tasted more like cotton candy than cookie dough. I believe the price was $6.50. My mom and brother each got rolled ice cream, priced $9, but is a large serving. My mom got ube, and my brother got chocolate. Both were delicious but so big and sweet they couldn't finish the whole cup. Service: nice friendly blonde young lady. She gave us a breakdown of the whole menu after we told her it was our first time. She was patient with us when we were choosing what to order. Not sure if the place is hiring, but she looked a bit lonely since we went during not-so-busy hours. The rolled ice creams also took some time because it was just her. I would also add that there are mostly high tables inside, and the chairs are almost as high as the tables themselves which were a bit uncomfortable. There are menus posted, but it would definitely be nicer if there were oicture of product more prominently displayed to show the types of desserts offerred. The pricing is higher than what I would expect for what we got. Four scoops around half the size of a baseball each totalled to $18+ (cup container). I got the ube rolled ice cream with frosted flakes, coconut crunch and mochi. It came out to $13.75! I have never tried rolled ice cream before so I wanted to just have it at least once. The ice cream was pretty good but nothing mind blowing. Adding the coconut crunch and frosted flakes really helped give it some texture. I have tried this place a few times, but I don't think I will go back. The ice cream flavors are disappointing, ranging from mediocre to awful. The last time I went, I ordered the chocolate rolled ice cream, but I had to ask to switch to vanilla because the chocolate was so bitter and sour that it seemed spoiled. For such low quality ice cream, I have to say it is also way too expensive. The service was also poor, with most of the staff having a clueless and indifferent attitude.
