The Pond is really stepping up the ice cream game. What dragged me in was of course the matcha and charcoal soft serve. The prices are the same as any other trendy soft serve spot, around to $4-$6. They have specialty cones for an extra up charge and they are also more than happy to offer samples. I tried the milk tea, good, a little on the plan side but I'm sure would be great with toppings, also tried the Thai tea, which was also great, just not in the mood for it, then lastly tried the ube, which was good, but tasted a bit different that the other Ube flavoring things that I've had in the past. The matcha originally drew me in so I decided to stick with that. The yelp check in gives you're a free waffle cone upgrade. The matcha soft serve was great, it was creamy and super flavorful, I choose rice crispys as a topping and it was a great add on. The soft serve is definitely enough to share. The store is right next to sharetea on Huntington Drive. It has a small parking lot in the back. As for the shop, it was cute and clean. There were some plushies and anime figurines on a shelf, and the store had a nice aesthetic. As for the ice cream, it came out to be about $8.30 for a single soft serve swirl cone. The ice cream was creamy and soft. However, the price was not justified through the flavor quality. The ube was very subtle, and it wasn't as aromatic as I anticipated it to be. The milk tea had a stronger flavor. Also, the waffle cone was very fragile and did not hold up against the ice cream, so it started leaking after a few bites. I tried a few, and I really wanted to like this place but I didn't like any of them. I am a huge sweet tooth! So if there's anything sweet, bring 'em my way! I was able to try the cocobae, as well as milk tea. I have to admit the milk tea soft serve does taste exactly like a boba milk tea drink-- but I'd prefer to drink it instead of eat it. The consistency of the milk tea soft serve was unexplainably weird for me. We ended up ordering cocobae (ube and something else) in a cup with (1) free topping of strawberry syrup $4.50, and a mint n chip with (1) free topping of coconut flakes $4.50. The presentation of the soft serves couldn't have gotten any cuter! There's a stick of pocky and gold fish cookie topping they put on and it's super cute! My issue was with the service we received. So glad we got to stop by The Pond Ice Cream. The server was SO SWEET and was patient as I decided what flavor to try. We ended up trying pumpkin ice cream with charcoal cone. This is a HUGE cone. we are so obsessed with the pumpkin flavor still, and this hits the spot. Also love that they can accommodate to lactose intolerant customers because this ice cream is DAIRY-FREE! The cone was good up until we got near the bottom and it became too soft and soggy. What do you do during a 115 degree heat wave in the SGV? Get ice cream. Drove over to this small, unassuming joint in Arcadia near Santa Anita after seeing the delicious looking flavors on their Instagram page. Between the three of us, one had vanilla ice cream rolled with oreo pieces and chocolate sprinkles. That was a hit. There was also a soft serve mixed swirl - half chocolate and half salted caramel in a charcoal cone. One minute the person with this cone was happy it felt so light during a heat wave, but ultimately was upset it was vegan and dairy free. I had the black (charcoal) dole whip soft serve swirl mixed with the soft serve watermelonade in a charcoal cone. It was so refreshing and delicious. I didn't miss the dairy since my flavors were both fruit based and better suited for soft serve icee style. I would keep in mind all the soft serve is dairy free vegan. The rolled ice cream is not. They have milkshakes. You get one free topping. Cones are $1.5 for soft serve. The rolled obviously has to be served in a cup. Right now there is a Yelp check in where you get one free cone. One thing to know about the cones is that the soft serve seems to stop right when you get to the cone, so you have an empty cone. That kind of is lame. Also the cones tend to have a hole in the bottom from the way they are wrapped in production, so the ice cream will melt down and onto you if you are sitting down, so beware. Otherwise, there was one girl working the entire place. She was friendly, but she was not the best ice cream roller to be sure. Also, there is parking out front or in a small lot behind them for Pond Ice Cream and a Boba place next door. Also, the flavors seem to change every season, supposedly, except for the black dole since it is so popular. I'd recommend it, at least for the black dole and the watermelonade. Really refreshing. Even though it was raining (where it never rains in Southern California), Tim met Alana and me at The Pond. Tim actually wanted to meet with Sathy. He didn't eat anything - which is unusual. So, he really wanted to see Sathy... We sat and waited without feeling rushed. There was a steady stream of customers in the small shop, but it wasn't crowded. Anyway, Alana and I shared a soft serve in a GREEN cone. Because it was the day before St. Patrick's Day, Alana asked if there was such a thing as a green cone - and there was! It was to be released the next day, but our cashier asked her manager if she could release it early to us... Yes!!! We got a green cone instead of the pink (Valentine's Day) or black one! What sits in the pond?? Not ice cream... A duck! There's a huge duck's face on the wall and one in their signage. Kind of like a hidden Mickey, but it's a hidden Duckie. The flavors for the day we went were Thai Tea, Milk Tea, Orange Cream, and Lychee. Only soft-serve is served here. There are 2 machines, so the first two & last two flavors can be swirled together. If you choose to have a different mix, they will put one ice cream flavor on top of the other rather than swirled together. You get one free topping with your ice cream. With Yelp Check-In, you get a free Char Cone Upgrade. The first time, I had the Lychee swirled on the bottom and the Milk Tea on top of a black cone. I asked for it reversed, but received it this way. Tastes the same, just not as photogenic. LOL! I shared a Lychee cone the second time I came here. I jokingly asked if they were going to do green cones for St. Patrick's Day and they said "Yes"! Then I asked if it would be possible to get one a day early. They made it happen! Both weren't bad but I was hoping to try the ube & lychee flavors that I've seen other people post. I'm guessing the matcha and milk tea are regular flavors and other two change. This place opened up recently and was featured for a Yelp Elite event! Unfortunately, I missed the event, but I finally got the chance to give them a try. The Pond is a pretty small shop and shares a parking lot with other restaurants in the area such as Sharetea. Since it was our first time, the friendly workers offered free samples of all the flavors. They have a small menu of flavors, so it was easy to decide on which flavors to choose. Ube ice cream flavor is the hottest thing to hit dessert scene and everyone seems to be trying to capitalize on it. Pond's ube doesn't even taste amazing, like traditional Filipino ube or taro does. Their Vietnamese coffee and milk tea were in the same situation as well. I did enjoy their lychee flavor soft-serve which I thought was really delicious. Love the presentation. I found the colorful pink swirl visually appealing and flavor of the lychee was very prominent. Downside to this luscious treat was the boring charcoal cone that I got with it. Making a splash in Arcadia, The Pond offers unique flavors of soft serve ice cream along with several topping choices served in a cup or charcoal waffle cone. Located on Duarte just down the street from the high school (and next to a soon-to-open Sharetea), the storefront is fairly decent-sized. There are several tables/chairs, some bar seating by the window, and a couch next to a faux shrubbery wall that is soon to be the backdrop of many ice cream pictures. All that's missing are some LED lights that spell out "The Pond". I can definitely see this being a hit with the Arcadia students, especially after a hot day. They currently have four flavors - ube, lychee, Vietnamese coffee, and milk tea. You can customize your dessert to be one flavored or two along with 1 free topping (sprinkles, fruity pebbles, fruit loops, nuts, coconut flakes, etc.). The charcoal waffle cone is an additional $1 - and you can add boba for an extra fifty cents. The ice cream is made by their own company "Pacific Ice Cream Company" (made in-house). The owner explained that he plans to roll out several new flavors in the months to come, all of which have been inspired by his personal travels or upbringing from when he was younger. He mentioned possibly having a salty egg yolk, durian, or white chocolate matcha, which all sound quite interesting. Since they're just opening, they currently have a Yelp check-in special for 50% off orders. I tried three of the flavors and thought milk tea was my favorite. Ube and lychee were both a little too sweet for my liking. I also heard Vietnamese coffee was pretty standard. Milk tea had enough muted sweetness that I could still taste the flavor yet not get tired of it because it was more neutral. With the addition of the Pocky stick and sprinkles, I thought there was the perfect amount of sweetness along with the charcoal waffle cone. Waffle cone was tasty and crunchy - and not too sweet, which I liked. Thought the overall dessert was well made and tasty. Super glad I got the milk tea because my sister thought her lychee and ube swirl got sweeter and sweeter the more she ate. Highly recommend ordering the charcoal waffle cone. For the extra $1, you get the crunchiness of the cone, giving the ice cream some more texture that you wouldn't get when it's just the soft serve by itself. All I can say is YAY! I don't have to drive all the way to Koreatown to get my soft serve/charcoal cone/pretty pic fix! Right when you open the door you get hit with the yummiest waffle smell, it's like the Keebler Elves are back there baking. What stood out to me, was all the flavors taste exactly like they are suppose to, no artificial fakeness. My favorite is the Viet coffee and lychee, pair these puppies together, trust me, the flavors balance eachother out. The Pond offers both soft serve ice cream and regular scooped ice cream. For the soft serve ice cream, they rotate flavors every month. During my visit, the flavors were dole whip, matcha, milk tea, and melon. I ended up getting a kid size milk tea soft serve in a charcoal cone. I initially liked the milk tea flavor but since it had a really strong taste, I had my fill about halfway through. I really liked the charcoal cone though! It had a subtle fortune cookie-like taste (as my friend described it). Pros: Charcoal cone is free when you check in on Yelp. They offer one free topping per order. And lastly, the portions are huge! Tried the black dole whip which was interesting! I thought it would taste a little different, but its really just dole whip. It was good though! I also tried the very berry. It was a bit sour for me. You also get one topping for free such as oreos and frosted flakes. The staff was so nice! He really took the time to explain the different flavors, put the toppings on the soft serve, and was very friendly. Came on a sunday night where there were a lot of free parking in the back. There was only one extrance and exit. It may be difficult when packed since there are other stores in this plaza. read more

Came here because I saw so many cute social media posts of their soft serves. Little did I know, it was "alright." Location: pretty hidden in Arcadia. It's next to Share Tea and a few blocks away from Honey Boba. Parking is pretty easy with a private lot. Street parking is acceptable too. Service: excellent! The workers are so sweet, friendly, and approachable. The worker was so sweet to offer us samples.. a part of me felt awful because the samples weren't that great & I felt obligated to buy something since the service was so stellar. Ice cream: it was alright. Nothing really special, besides the social media pictures. I felt like the ice cream were a little too sweet and creamy. Because this place is new, I'm sure there is room for improvement! The price was alright, more on the pricier side. Overall, I think this place has potential.... but not right now. There are a lot of better options (ie. Somisomi). Hopefully this place will improve soon. read more

Feeling like ice cream on a hot day my husband and I decided to try out The Pond. They serve mix of soft serve and scooped ice cream. I appreciate that they were very transparent that the scooped Ice cream was bought by the pint while the soft serve was made in house. With that being said, we decided to go with the soft serve. We were able to try all the flavors before purchasing. They had cocoube, V. Coffee, Milk tea and Mango green tea. The cocoube was surprisingly good. V. Coffee had good coffee flavor. A coffee lover's dream. Unfortunately I had tried the milk tea after the V coffee and thought it was a bit lack luster since the coffee flavor was so prominent. Though looking back combining the two in a swirl or half/half would make for a nice duet. Lastly the mango green tea really took me back and remind me of Sanrio bubble gum. As a bonus for us they are also dog friendly. We were able to bring our dogs in and sit down to enjoy our ice cream. read more

Came for the soft opening. Soft-served ice cream, specialize in asian pacific flavors. They had Vietnamese coffee, milk tea, ube, and lychee. Their flavors are seasonal, so they rotate occasionally. I ended up getting the ube & lychee swirls on a charcoal waffle cone. Pretty great combo. read more

A cute and cool little spot just to chill with your friends. Limited parking space behind the build and on the streets. The ice cream is very cliché. Not worth the hype. I believe they change flavors every month. The flavor I tried was the Thai tea. Ehhh!! It was ok. I couldn't try the charcoal cone. The cashier mentioned it was going to take 45 min. The cashier was really nice. Letting my friend and I try out all the flavors of the ice cream. Since there are only a few, it is easy to try it all. Their flavors change once every month I believe. I got dole whip and orange swirl. It was very good and a huge cone for just $5. read more
