The quality was excellent then, and on something of a whim on a recent visit to Quincy, I stopped in for a fish and chips lunch. The quality is just as good as I remembered, and at a surprisingly reasonable price given the catapulting of prices industry-wide. I joked with the counter staff about the length between visits, and they joked about about not letting it go forty more years -- they might not be around that long! While I certainly won't be, well into my sixties, I sure hope Burke's will.

With a craving for some seafood, we decided to pop in for a late lunch. The whole Burke's team was friendly and welcoming upon our arrival. We asked for recommendations and made some quick selections before the kitchen closes for the day. We opted for the shrimp lunch, oyster dinner, and a seafood chowder. The chowder came out first. The lady was so friendly, making sure we had enough spoons and cups of water. The chowder was thick and creamy with chunks of seafood. I am not usually fans of fried seafood. However, the fried shrimps and fried oysters here were so good that the batter didn't adulterate the freshness of the shrimps and oysters at all. Both were cooked to perfection without being dry. As I was watching the light snow flurries outside the windows, I was thinking to myself that I was lucky to still enjoy some fresh seafood here as the temperatures are dropping.

Formerly known as The Townshend, this Quincy local restaurant is the best place for exceptional service, fantastic food, creative cocktails and am Ambiance that will sure impress any date. This might be my 3rd or 5th review because why not! When you find a place that you love you brag about it. For starters we shared their fried pickles with their homemade ranch dressing. We also love their stuffed dates. For entrees, I had their Salmon which is always cooked to perfection. My husband's had their Steak Frites which he enjoyed very much. Dessert is always a tough choice since all of them are excellent but this time we went with their brownie sundae. After plenty of glasses of wine and some dirty martinis let's just say we didn't want to leave but it was getting late. If you have never been to Dotty's or their other restaurants I highly recommend checking them out! Cheers

"All of the staff members had a Dotty in their family", said our server. Dotty became the right name for the restaurant. And the pulled it off. You look at tasteful decor, period light fixtures and a vibe that feels like home. The food was fantastic and I highly recommend the Thai Curry Cod. Dotty's is hard to find from the street as it's tucked into a corner. You have to pass five guys to get there but it's totally worth it. Can't say enough good things about Dotty's. We'll be coming back!

We didn't want to head back home without having lunch with our daughter on our last day in Boston…read more As she's exploring areas near her home and venturing into neighboring towns, Quincy, MA caught her attention- a coastal escape from Boston's bustle. With Quincy Bay just across the street, the residential side of town has a charming seaside vibe. It actually reminded us a bit of City Island in NY. Quincy offers that same coastal charm- but on a much grander and less chaotic scale. Quincy, MA has its fair share of seafood joints. One spot we actually went to down the road serve lobster rolls with mayo. In our family, it's buttered or bust. Because let's be real, that's the only right way to roll. If you're a pescatarian, The Clam Box is your paradise. From broiled seafood to crispy fried options, I think they have raw clams (no oysters) and of course buttery lobster rolls (they've got the mayo version too), this place has it all. Clam B. isn't fancy by any means- but what it lacks in style, it makes up for it in seafood options. We knew exactly what we wanted from the start: 3 buttered lobster rolls, 3 waters to quench our thirst, 1 crab cake, and a large order of fried oysters. Everything hit the spot nicely. Though the lobster rolls could've used a touch more butter and the bread felt more like a thick slice of bread than the classic split-top roll. All it really needed was a proper hot dog bun to hold all that delicious meat in place. Service seemed fine. And at just a little over $180, Clam B. isn't exactly cheap for a no-frills joint, but the lobster quality and portions seriously justify the price- especially if seafood is your love language.

Not happy about my experience with this place today. I decided I wanted some fried clams, and…read morerather than go to two of the mainstays in the area, The Clam Box or Tony's Clam Shop, I figured I'd give this place a shot. So I go to their website and they have a large order of clams listed at $31.95, and I'm really in the mood for a big plate of clams so I say "what the heck" and order the large. When I arrive to pick up the order, there's a paper sign hanging by the register listing the prices for clams, and suddenly I find out the price I saw on the website was $8.00 dollars! less than what they were actually going to change me, $40.00. Since I have a sense of honor, and didn't want to just walk out without paying for my order, I paid for my takeout and left. Once I got home and opened my order I could see that it in no way resembled what you would expect is $40 worth of clams, I Get clams all the time at The Clam Box and Tony's for prices much lower than this and the amount I was looking at simply didn't justify that ridiculous $40 bill. Now there are other seafood takeout restaurant out there (such as Fred's for example) that allow their prices for clams and scallops to fluctuate with the market. And ALL of them list "Market Price" in the price area of those items on their website. Fish & Chips might show a set price but clams and scallops have "Market Price". Other shops like The Clam Box and Tony's list a fixed price for their clams and scallops on their website, and they HONOR that listed price. Adam's Fish Market does neither of these things, and I can guarantee they will never be seeing another order from me.
