What a great HIDDEN JEWEL in Quincy Round-about by Fore River Bridge! Tucked away in the corner has the. BEST SEAFOOD I have had in a long time! To compare to Clam Box on Wollaston Beach this locale blows them out of the water! Truly freshly made and reasonable prices ! I had the Clam Belly Roll and it was so tasty and tender that I could not help but devour it in a couple of bites ! When I went there were plenty of indoor seating and no wait time My order was made right in front of me! Loved every BITE!

It doesn't get any fresher and better than this. A quaint little seafood restaurant that was the hidden gem We've been looking for this entire trip, the lobster stop came highly recommended by a couple locals who swore that it would be absolutely amazing and they were right. We walked in and immediately saw the tanks and menu board and knew this was the spot, the gentleman at the counter got our order moving quickly and shortly after taking a seat in their small dining area our soups were delivered to the table. A couple bowls of clam chowder (not pictured as it was immediately being enjoyed the moment it hit the table ) and a bowl of lobster bisque. My in-laws remarked that they loved the extra amount of clam in it and the bisque was thick creamy and had a healthy amount of lobster in it... might be the best I've had in quite a while. The misses got the clam strips and onion rings, which came piled high with this light but insanely flavorful breading on it (both items). The clams were fried to perfection as were the onions. She also opted for a shrimp taco which was a piled high slaw and crispy shrimp delight. I missed the photo op on this but there is a pic of it with the chips that go with the other rolls... The rest of us opted have the lobster rolls cold (I heard the hot with butter is something that is a must try), and they came packed with fresh lobster and wow was that just the most delicious thing I had this entire trip. I immediately wanted to get another for breakfast when we depart tomorrow (I also had those light and crispy onion rings). Our little yelper had the kids cheese burger and for a kid a double patty burger with fries is just an intimidating treat but she was up for the challenge. That was an excellent value and meal for a hungry kid. This place gets a 5star on food quality and quantity alone. Freshness, flavor and portions all earned this rating from me. Thank you lobster stop for a memorable last bite in New England!

Came to Massachusetts to visit family and it was only right to eat some seafood while we were on the East Coast! My mom found this place and so happy that she did. The lobster rolls had fresh lobster w/ a nice brioche bun. You can get the roll with lobster salad if that's your speed. The only recommendation I have for this roll is to request the tail. The roll was filled with the meat from the claws so it was a bit more chewy than I like. The fried clam strips and fries were fried to perfection! No complaints there. I'll have to go back next time I'm in Massachusetts to try something different on their large menu.

The Lobster Stop is a fish market that also serves cooked seafood. It has indoor and outdoor seating and is next to the Washington Street Bridge. Inside they have live lobster tanks. I noticed that they served lobster rolls here like many places in the area do but the prices were much lower. Here they sell one for $14 with chips and pickle or 2 with chips and pickle for $25. Most restaurants I saw sell one for about $32! So I ordered 2 at the counter and they were ready in less than 10 minutes. Served cool on hot dog size buns they were delicious. Who doesn't love lobster rolls? Who doesn't love them at this price? Yes, it was a very good tasting lunch that satisfied my lobster craving without disrespecting my pocket book. They have many other prepared seafood offerings here too. I saw several people buy live lobsters to take home and cook. This place is the definition of a neighborhood fish market and I'm sure that's why they are so popular.

Best prices in the area for legit fresh fried seafood. I can't speak on the lobster rolls, but my shrimp and scallop platter was great, very filling and colossal sized shrimp (larger than any spot I've tried); wifey had scallops, they were some tiny ones mixed in with big juicy pcs, was worth it as well. Worth a shot if you're craving seafood and don't want to blow the bank.

The owner was a little rude but his shop does a hell of a good job making good food. The place is small with a few outdoor seatings. 10/10

This is supposed to be. a lobster roll.

Horrible. This place may have been good in the day but is disgusting now. Ordered a lobster roll Got a mayonaise drenched bunch of mush.I saw a few tiny pieces of lobster. It looked like an over processed tuna salad. I took a small bite at my better judgement ad it tasted like bad fish. Must use old lobster they can't sell. Totally fraudulent advertising. Will goback tomorrow for a refund with this thing they call lobster. Go a mile up the road to the 99 restaurant for an awesome lobster roll. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE FOR A LOBSTER ROLL

Great spot in quincy for lobsters! Was looking for lobsters nearby and found this one. At first, when we arrived there were no lobsters. But, the staff let us know lobsters were coming soon and so we waited about 45 min until they arrived. They were well worth the wait!! We ordered 2 steamed lobsters, which came out pretty fast. The lobsters did have a lot of water come out when we cracked them, but that didnt take away from the taste! The seating of the area was not the best. The inside was very dim, so we wanted to sit outside on the nice sunny day, but the store is located right next to a giant bridge, so it got pretty loud with all the cars. Nonetheless, I would still come back here!

Good seafood at great prices! You order at the counter and they brought us our food. My husband and I each had the 3 way combo and shared a lobster roll. I wished there was more than just 3 pieces of whole belly clams in my combo though but I would come back!

This place is small, nothing fancy but food were great especially for the price. We love the lobster roll here. Taste pretty fresh. Parking lot is small.

Ask the Community - The Lobster Stop

Hi, I have been to the Lobster Stop many times but stopped going because the tables were all full when our food was ready. We want to give them another try. Are they crowded at 5 PM on a Saturday. I know crowds can vary but what have you folks seen?

I went there a couple weeks ago on a Saturday night before 6pm...and looks like I beat the rush. Two booths were open. 30mins later...all seats were taken already.

Our waitress Jess had our drinks going in no time and as some of you know dining with kids can be challenging and sometimes getting food in front them asap is important. She had her order in and moving asap and that chicken tender meal out asap. Little yelper said they were the "best ever"... we questioned that and I tried a small piece and yep they were fresh and some of the best we can recall in recent dining experiences. There were several bowls of the clam chowder around the table and everyone was in full agreement that it was fantastic. Rich flavor and a healthy amount of clam and potatoes in the each spoonful. The fish and chips, it was a healthy portion of fish, fries and the coleslaw. Well done fish and the tartar sauce was fantastic. The chicken dinner was a heaping mound of chicken bacon and mashed potatoes with a side of corn. It tasted as great as it looked. A fish Reuben? Yep. Again another treat for the tastebuds just like the shrimp tacos. I don't do 5 often but this place definitely deserves it. Freshness, flavor and service all were spot on. Highly recommend visiting off the hook.

Bay Pointe removes both claws from the lobster which I appreciate and puts the whole claw meat under the stuffing mix. On this particular day only 1 claw was found. When I inquired about the missing claw I was told it was cut up in the stuffing mix. First of all, I have been to this restaurant many times ordering this same dish. So, tell me why 1 claw meat would be cut up and not the other one. Once the explanation was given it was utterly bull. I've never had the claw meat cut up and mixed in with the stuffing and as far as I'm concerned it should never be an option to do that. If so, I probably would not order this dish anymore. I want to see my claws in it's entirety and not cut up. Bottom line lobsters have 2 claws not 1. Both should have been in the dish and basically it wasn't. This will not deter me from coming to this establishment, but please think about your response before providing an answer that doesn't make any sense. Met up with some good friends in Quincy and we're looking for a place to eat. Conveniently located by the Quincy Center stop, this place was great! We were seated quickly without a reservation (though clearly it can get popular, we showed up at 5:30 and by 6 the place was full of reserved parties!) and our server was very helpful. We got the fried calamari and the steak tartare as starters. While the calamari itself was crunchy and nicely lightly battered and fried, I would guesstimate that about 50% of the dish was actually calamari. The rest of the fried bits were carrot coins, lemon slices (with the seeds still in...) and what I think were pieces of poblano peppers. This honestly felt disappointing as the portion was quite small to start, and then for half of it to be miscellaneous fried veggies felt like it wasn't a great deal. The steak tartare was also an extremely tiny portion, with the plate heavily populated by arugula leaves and six tiny toasts. Not the most generous portions here unfortunately. I got the steak frites as my main. The steak itself was presently beautifully with a peppercorn sauce poured over it. However, I was looking for the salt shaker because the steak was quite underseasoned. While it looked like a good medium rare cook (how I ordered it) with a great looking sear, I had quite a bit of chew work to do getting through the gristly bits. The fatty side cap was a bit chewy and could have used some direct searing. The oysters were delicious! Not even a little bit of grit, with a very onion-heavy mignonette as an accompaniment. We didn't order much from the raw bar due to my friends' tastes but I feel like this would probably be the reason I come back another time with different people! I could have definitely been happier with the food here. But again don't sleep on the raw bar and if you're looking for a nice place to hang for an evening, overall great vibes here!
