    Garlic Noodles

Shaking Crab is a local cajun restaurant known for their high quality and diverse seafood boil options. There's street parking nearby and it's located near the Thomas Crane Public Library. The place is clean and hygienic and a great spot for a casual dinner or seafood boil date. Our waiter was super nice and brought us utensils, gloves, aprons, and cleaning wipes after we were done. He also packed our leftovers to go for us and checked in on us to make sure we were doing okay after we let him know it was our first seafood boil. The Be Shellfish was a great option for 2 people - the seafood was cooked well. The mussels were fresh and seasoned well, the shrimp was easy to peel, and the corn and potatoes soaked up the cajun sauce nicely but the shellfish barely had any meat in them and were hard to open. The sides were flavorful and delicious - the garlic noodles were cooked well and were a good amount of spicy. It paired well with the boil. The toasted bread also was great - we placed an extra order since it was so fluffy and tasty. Overall, the price was worth the portion size and this was a great first seafood boil experience in Quincy.

The restaurant is located in a vibrant neighborhood in Quincy with plenty of restaurants. The staff gives you a bag that includes your utensils, gloves and an apron. I decided to pick a combo with Cajun sauce and kept it regular. The food is pretty pricey but it was delicious. I felt like the combo had a good amount of everything and the sauce was great to dip with! The garlic noodles was a nice surprise and I recommend it as a side. The time we went had limited drink options and I hope they will resolve that soon. It's next to the parking garage which is a plus.

This eatery never disappoints my family and I! We went lunch yesterday waiting on their inside bench at 3:55, because they open at 4 sharp. We were the only ones in there, but in a Friday afternoon we wanted to beat the rush there. Nina was amazing! We have never had a female waitstaff ever. Nina was so attentive and never over bearing. A perfect blend. We got got some appetizers and a basket of Catfish, which was triple delicious and so good we got one order, but we should have got 2 orders with waffle fries which were sliced thinner than we ever had elsewhere came with a dipping sauce of sweet chili tai . Yes that good! The main reason we came yesterday was for Tai Chili chicken wings omg so freaking good we did get two orders served with sweet chili tai sauce and a side of ranch sauce. Cooked perfectly and we couldn't get enough of them. We were full after this late lunch we took the leftover chicken home for lunch Saturday. Nina thank you for your great service. Can't wait to go back next Wednesday for all you can eat menu. It's on three days but I could only remember Wednesday. Yummy food

Ordered the jumbo box of deep ocean, barlic--- because my palate can't handle spicy =( Was not busy at 1830, Sunday. Made me a bit nervous that it wasn't busy. Service was excellent and helpful to the new people in our party. The food was served promptly and steaming hot. It was slightly pricier than I expected, but in no way would that stop me from going again!

I didn't want to come here. I wasnt impressed with all the idea - I'm usually disappointed when it comes to seafood spots. This place wasnt that bad. I initially wasnt happy about the price either, but I have somehow been here at least 6 times and I order take out cause I like to be fat at home. (8/17 Saturday hours says closes at 11pm. Came here last night and dude says they're closed. He said that the website says 11, but they stop seating 30min prior to 11. Look at the clock and it was 10:33p. He shrugs, offers to grab the manager to explain this to is. I told him not to bother. He also said that he was off the clock and ready to go.) I never have an issue with this place, service or food. Just a tip.

I just wanted to make an updated review just to show that this restaurant is consistent in what they do. They actually have new items on the menu and new specials as well! Every single time I've come here this summer, I would always end up ordering three dozen oysters just to share between two people (along with other food of course). The oysters have always tasted fresh and I have never ever eaten one that was dead or tasted sandy due to uncleanliness. As for the seafood, my go to is still crawfish or snow crab legs. New items on their menu that you should definitely try would be the soft shell crab, lobster quesadilla, and lobster tail burger. I HIGHLY recommend the lobster tail burger; it's a fair lobster tail paired with chipotle mayo. It's honestly a great way to have a burger with seafood. If you want to order the lobster quesadilla, make sure you order it when you eat in because it might get soggy if you do take out. A drink that I've been OBSESSED with would be Life's a Peach with strawberry puree. I know, sounds weird to add the strawberry, but I love it. End your meal with some beignets too!

My experience at other Shaking Crab locations was a bit hit and miss. I like the idea of doing Cajun boils of New England seafood: seafood boils are popular on the west coast, for example, the SF Bay Area and NE in my opinion has the best seafood, but somehow the boils I had at Shaking Crab weren't always satisfying, not sure if it is the content or the portion size. So for a pickup at this place, I thought I would start with chicken wings and garlic noodles which were recommended in the app. The wings were excellent - probably the best I had for quite a while, and the garlic noodles were decent too and in a large portion.

Barnacles on the crab legs and in the boil itself , everything was covered with small barnacles making everything in the bag crunchy.

Super unappetizing. BARNACLES ALL OVER THE CRAB LEGS AND INSIDE THE BOIL ITSELF. Couldn't even eat the food because of how crunchy everything was since it was full of barnacles that must've fell off the crab legs. Everything went to waste.

The Quincy location of Shaking Crab used to be my go to. I typically ordered via UberEats and enjoyed my experiences. However, I think there has been a recent change in management or service in the past year. I would order regularly and my last two experiences were not the same as I have had before The snow crab is significantly smaller in size and lacks flavor. The shrimp, I've ordered both the easy peel and head off shrimp before, come mushy and the head off shrimp wasn't cleaned well in this past order. The sauce (House Shaking Cajun) was my all time favorite but now it's a much thinner texture, different color and flavor. It's just not good or spicy anymore besides the overuse of Red Pepper flakes. Seafood is typically expensive. This order of crab legs and shrimp was over $50. However, the quality of this meal is far from a treat and no longer worth the expense. Maybe the other Shaking Crab locations have maintained their dignity but please save your money and avoid this Quincy location.

These were supposed to be sausages, but they are clearly hotdogs

Overall, the food was good. However, I asked for sausages to be added on,and after about the second bite, I realized it was not a sausage at all, but a hotdog. I called our waiter over and asked him and he said he was gonna go find out if it was really hotdog or sausage. He comes back and tells me that they ran out of sausage three days ago. I again asked, so this is hotdog right? He goes I don't know it was the last one and we already threw the package out so I couldn't check to see what it was.

I will start with this: Service is terrible, Garlic smell al over the place, Anything you order has already garlic sauce, Probably not my kitchen. But after this place I don't like garlic. Thank you anyway.

Well it was ok. Nothing to rave about. We had a party of 10 plus a baby. They wouldn't seat us till everyone in the party arrived. Then knowing we had a baby they never added a toddler seat. The server was taking our order from one side of the table so we had to scream over the table. The food is alright. The muscles were so weird. Gooey and weird. I've never had muscles like it. It's a ok experience but I've had better I'll pass the next time.

I am curious about this place and I want to know is it expensive?

It really depends on what you order. There are combo set and sets for people.

What are the prices like? If I got crab or crawfish and shrimp and corn?

Their menu is online. Ranging from $13+ plus add ons are extra, roughly $2+ depending on what you're getting.

The lady was so friendly, making sure we had enough spoons and cups of water. The chowder was thick and creamy with chunks of seafood. I am not usually fans of fried seafood. However, the fried shrimps and fried oysters here were so good that the batter didn't adulterate the freshness of the shrimps and oysters at all. Both were cooked to perfection without being dry. As I was watching the light snow flurries outside the windows, I was thinking to myself that I was lucky to still enjoy some fresh seafood here as the temperatures are dropping.

Met up with some good friends in Quincy and we're looking for a place to eat. Conveniently located by the Quincy Center stop, this place was great! We were seated quickly without a reservation (though clearly it can get popular, we showed up at 5:30 and by 6 the place was full of reserved parties!) and our server was very helpful. We got the fried calamari and the steak tartare as starters. While the calamari itself was crunchy and nicely lightly battered and fried, I would guesstimate that about 50% of the dish was actually calamari. The rest of the fried bits were carrot coins, lemon slices (with the seeds still in...) and what I think were pieces of poblano peppers. This honestly felt disappointing as the portion was quite small to start, and then for half of it to be miscellaneous fried veggies felt like it wasn't a great deal. The steak tartare was also an extremely tiny portion, with the plate heavily populated by arugula leaves and six tiny toasts. Not the most generous portions here unfortunately. I got the steak frites as my main. The steak itself was presently beautifully with a peppercorn sauce poured over it. However, I was looking for the salt shaker because the steak was quite underseasoned. While it looked like a good medium rare cook (how I ordered it) with a great looking sear, I had quite a bit of chew work to do getting through the gristly bits. The fatty side cap was a bit chewy and could have used some direct searing. The oysters were delicious! Not even a little bit of grit, with a very onion-heavy mignonette as an accompaniment. We didn't order much from the raw bar due to my friends' tastes but I feel like this would probably be the reason I come back another time with different people! I could have definitely been happier with the food here. But again don't sleep on the raw bar and if you're looking for a nice place to hang for an evening, overall great vibes here!
