The Cheesesteak Shop is a bit harder to find but it's on the side of Crumbl Cookies and EriksDeliCafe, facing Milpitas Blvd. The center is on the corner of Calaveras and Milpitas Blvd. Restaurant was clean. Friendly staff with a smile. I ordered a Motown, which is with mushrooms. I requested grilled onions and sweet peppers on the side. Also, they offer lots of other reiterations of a cheesesteak sandwich such as: pizza, shredded pork, barbecue, vegetarian, even chicken if you do not prefer beef. So there's something for everyone. Vegetarians can enjoy the vegetarian version along with the sides of onion rings, steak fries, tater tots, sweet potato fries, and they even have salads. The half size sandwich consisted of thin, tender beef, grilled onions, sweet peppers with American cheese. Upon unwrapping the meat amount poked out of the soft bread. The bread was soggy on the inside in the best way. Personally I love sandwiches (includimg burgers) that are moistened with natural au jus (beef juices :) Tater tots were plentiful but a bit over salted. just like fries, try to eat when it's fresh from the fryer. Since it was over salted, I'll ask for no or light salt next timd. The quality of the meat in the sandwich was average (couldn't really taste the bacon) but it was too oily as well. The hot peppers that I customized with definitely had a kick so there's a plus there. I'd break this place down into pros and cons but thankfully the pros outweigh the cons in a good way. Pros: This location looks like it was remodeled and that's a plus. Taste-wise, the classic Philly cheesesteak is simple and satisfying, packed with meat and cheese. The King of Philly and Motown Philly have even more meat, and you can add onions, peppers and mushrooms. (Motown Philly is with mushrooms) taste wise, While it's not quite the same as an actual Philly cheesesteak in Philly, it definitely hits the spot. They also have solid deals. My wife and I usually go for the dinner for two, which includes a large sandwich, fries and two drinks. It's a good value and saves some money. The only good thing about the meal is the steak fries, which is sadly better than the cheesesteak. If you're just going out to eat and filtering out what's premium, then this is a place to go. My Daughter (27 y/o) My Mother in Law (66 y/o) and My grandson (10 y/o) went there to place an order on 2/10 and KEVIN an employee used vulgar words to them as he wanted to park right out front of his Job. I also called in and spoke with RANI the store manager to make the complaint because My grandson was so upset over this and hearing this man call his Mom and Great grandmother the B word Stupid B and B's that is something no child should ever witness! Then Rani when I spoke with him, started with defending him and saying he would never and that that employee wax there I don't see how telling me he is there would make me feel any better! I then said so are you telling me, if it did not happen why were the cops called out why did the security guard come over to see what was going on due to the outside occurrence and why was it that well into the evening when I called to speak with my grandson was he upset as he had tried to call me while I was at work and he wanted to talk to me! I also said why is it that 24 hours and several attempts to call and complain what was I a liar! He then at some point with no indication passed the phone to KEVIN and that in itself is rude to put someone on the phone and not tell me! Either way we all know that someone that can act like that in the very front of his job tells me that that is his character and that this isn't the first time! This Rani and Kevin both need better training and Kevin needs anger management as he surely got so bothered over a parking spot and for a parking area that is already busy with the surrounding businesses that are in that area! EITHER WAY this is not how any one should act but especially while at his place of business. Rani obviously cannot be a Manager as he allows staff to just do as they please! This is very disturbing and the disrespect is very evident. It starts from the top and clearly this place needs better management and staff that respect their paying customers and their Job as it's a representation of their selves!! There was a lot of space for a line since the tables were lined around the walls of the restaurant. There were two people behind the counter so I thought our food would come out slow, but it came out quick! My dad and I both got half orders which were $8/each. It comes with tomato, lettuce, and mayo, and I love my veggies so this was the only sandwich for me. The smell was HEAVENLY and the bite was even better! The bread has a nice crunch to it while also being soft enough to get a good bite without cutting the roof of your mouth. If you enjoy parting with a big chunk of your hard-earned money while having rude, lazy staff openly talk shit, you've come to the right place! I walked in at 8:20, FORTY minutes before closing and ordered $70 worth of food plus tip, and immediately regretted it! Absolutely the shittiest, most bizarre experience I've ever had ordering food and I've seen a lot. Kevin (somehow the manager I gather, which is wild), took my order and asked, "To go?" in a way that implied a suggestion more than a question. It was forty minutes before 9pm, it's getting cold outside, we're hungry, and I live a ways away, so I replied, "For here, if that's okay." I saw a blatant flash of annoyance wash over his face. As soon as Kevin turned around to walk over to the grill, I hear him popping off at the mouth complaining to his equally disgusting co-worker about my order and how he's so sick of leaving late, all clearly within sight and earshot. I couldn't believe the level of rudeness on display; I was truly taken aback. If I had ordered five minutes before closing, maybe his tantrum would be understandable (although still in very bad taste), but forty is plenty of time so this asinine behavior was totally uncalled for. My poor family was made to feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome by his bitching that they immediately went outside. I opted to wait inside so I could hear my order when it was called. I'm also not going to be bullied and immediately run out by a couple lazy, miserable crybabies that want to close up early and go home. Reading the reviews, this is not something new for this crew as others have complained about it. If that wasn't bad enough, his sidekick, a girl even more unpleasant than Kevin (not sure how that's even possible), saw me standing near the counter and must have known I overheard everything. Instead of being embarrassed and apologetic like any normal person would be, she snidely asked if I needed anything while giving me side eye. I said, "No, I'm just waiting for my sandwiches." Of course she couldn't just leave it at that. She snaps, "Didn't you just order?!" then scoffs and rolls her eyes. I have NEVER seen such outwardly disgusting behavior by people in the service industry. I returned our trays immediately, and we finished our food outside 15 minutes before closing so poor Kevin and his lovely assistant wouldn't have to put in one more second of work on our behalf. Had I not been with my sons, I would have been tempted to really go off, but I was trying to behave like an adult and raise kids with manners, which clearly was not done in the case of the staff here. Now, the best (and funniest) part was this old timer who slowly and casually ate inside the entire time while reading his newspaper. He was there before I ordered and was still there after we were done. I watched the entire thing from outside while laughing, knowing those morons were fuming that this guy was still in the shop after 8:30. Kevin started glaring at him at 8:45, but the old timer had his back to him, so that was ineffective. At 8:50, he still wasn't done, so Kevin spoke to him which I couldn't make out, but I assume was something along the lines of hurry the hell up. The old timer waved him off, then continued taking his time. He stayed seated until 9pm on the dot by my watch, then slowly folded up his paper and made his way to the door. It's probably wishful thinking, but I'd like to imagine he overheard the way I was treated and wanted to teach those two losers a lesson by staying seated until the very last minute. If you run a restaurant or eatery, expect customers until your posted closing time, then expect to stay a little after that to clean. If you don't like leaving after 9pm, here's a couple novel ideas - close earlier, or don't work in the food industry at all! My family worked in the food service industry and didn't expect to leave until at least one hour after closing. However, they would expect to lose their jobs if they ever treated a customer so poorly. What a twisted, bizarre twilight zone episode of shitty customer service where we're treated as annoying inconveniences instead of valued customers. Never coming back to this shithole. The last customer still left at 9pm on the dot despite your nasty attitudes and attempts to get everyone out, plus you managed to piss off a couple long time loyal customers. Good for you! My son in law is from Philly and has thanked his lucky stars that he stumbled across this place. He says it is spot on and reminds him of home. He and my daughter recently blessed me with my first grandchild. So on Friday's we try to visit before making the long trek home. So since we are visiting I always either have dinner delivered or pick something up on the way. This time my daughter and I wanted Banh Mi and my husband and SIL wanted cheesesteak sandwiches. So we submitted an order via Grub Hub whilst I went and picked up our banh mi's. Grub hub royally messed up and knowingly dropped off our order at a totally different building. My daughter lives in an apartment complex. I received a text stating the driver had to leave and left the order at a doorstep clear across the other side of the complex.
