I'm ashamed it took me so long to discover Crust! I love sourdough and all things bread, and Crust delivers on the most important part: fresh, amazing bread and HUGE sandwiches. It's become a go-to for me. I usually order one of their signature sandwiches (#10 is my go-to), but when I'm feeling bougie, I'll splurge on the meatball sub, which is close to $20. Both are great, but I do wish the portions were more consistent. Some days the meatball sub feels worth every penny, with meatballs for days, and other days it's a little sparse. Same goes for the signature sandwiches. Sometimes they're THICK, sometimes they're a little easier to bite into. Still, I keep coming back! My biggest wish is that they'd sell their bread separately because I'd absolutely take a loaf home. I'd also LOVE a half-sandwich option, maybe with chips/cookie, and a drink as a combo. The sandwiches are huge, and I can rarely finish one in a sitting. Great for leftovers if you're heading home, but less convenient when you're out and about. Another gripe - their pickle spears are not crunchy. Personal preference and I'm thankful they at least provide pickles and peppers, but I was a bit disappointed after everything else was great. Still overall 5-stars cause I'm always happy to come back. Mostly just personal preference notes. Going with friends is a fun way to mix and match. Pairing a cold sandwich with a warm one is a win-win! They also have salads that look pretty good, although as a bread lover, I can't say I've ever chosen one over a sandwich. Plenty of drink options too. Lunch can get busy with all the nearby office workers, and there are lots of online orders, but the line moves quickly and service is fast. Inside there are a few seats, chill vibes (unless it's lunch time then you get the hustle and bustle of people). Being a certified Crustie (patent pending), I continue to stand by the notion that CRUST is one of the best sandwiches out there...period. I recently made my way out to their Milpitas location. This spot is like the OG one that originally opened its doors way back in 2019. Knowing this, it was really cool to be able to dine at the location where all the magic first started. When I arrived for lunch, there was literally a line 20 deep. Amazingly, the line moved at a brisk pace and before I knew it I was already at the register. Having tried nearly every sandwich on their menu already, I noticed one that was new to me...the beef brisket. Given this, I went for this one instantly. When it came out, I just have one word to describe it...WOW. The super tender, flavorful meat was simply amazing. Coupled with their signature, perfectly toasted sourdough, and seriously WOW! First time coming to this location! Loved the Santa Clara and Los Gatos spots. Also first time doing takeout. Ordering was a bit difficult with the staff. Couldn't really understand what questions were being asked so there was a bit of back and forth. I did enjoy the amount of indoor and outdoor seating this spot had! Lots of parking in the plaza. Stopped by California sourdough but it was closed on a Saturday so this was our next option for sandwiches. It did not disappoint. Parking is plentiful and seating is limitless. Location is very well lit up and clean. Double cheese Hot Pastrami Sandwich: 5/5, they had a sign outside promoting this new sandwich and I will say - this needs to go on their permanent menu. The shop itself is pretty simple: Order at the counter, dine in or outside of the restaurant, or take things to go. They slice their meats and cheeses in-house, and they have some vegan option on the menu as well. We ordered a Hot Pastrami and choco coco cookie to split. While I believe in a 1:1 sandwich-diner ratio, one sandwich can be enough for 2 people. Both items were great- the bread was soft and crunchy, the meat was fatty and salty, and the cookie wasn't overly sweet and almost had a cookie-dough like thing going for it. It's been a while since I had a crust sandwich. I've always enjoy their sandwiches and I've continued to enjoy them. I love the Milpitas location. It's clean and the service is amazing! But their sandwiches are a story of their own. I can't describe how delicious they are. I ordered the Genoa salami sandwich with everything and my goodness, I finished every bite. It tasted how it tasted last time I had it, delicious! Again everything is made fresh and they are quick! Their meat is spot on and I love how they have a machine to cut them right there in person. And I am a huge fan for the shredded lettuce. If you haven't already, just get their lemon cookie. Your meal simply isn't complete without it. Definitely a must try if you have not been here. Stopped by around 11:30am on a Monday and they were decently busy. I was able to place my order quickly after reviewing their hot and cold sandwich options. I opted for their turkey and salami cold sandwich with a chocolate chip cookie on the side (total was a little over $16 before tip). My sandwich was ready within 5 minutes and since I had heard the girl next to me ask for their spicy house sauce on the side, I requested some too. The sandwich itself had pretty average ingredients, but the fresh sourdough completely changed the game. It was nice and soft with a chewy crust and I really liked that it wasn't overly sour. Saw the great reviews on Yelp and placed a lunch order through DoorDash. Starting off with the good - really tasty sourdough bread and fast delivery! CRUST finished making my sandwich within 15min for my DoorDash driver to pick up. I ordered the popular spicy Turkey sandwich and the spicy house sauce is delicious. My partner ordered the Premier Sandwich. Now the..."could improve". The value wasn't there for me. Our meat ratio was pretty low. I've attached a photo comparison of our Premier Sandwich that had a few thin slices of protein, which was VERY different from the DoorDash photos. Our sandwiches probably had 25% the amount of meat that was shown on photos online :( At $13.50 a sandwich on the app, I didn't feel like my order was worth it. My buddy been telling me about this place and I happened to be by there so I picked up a few sandwiches. Came home with two Italians and the new hot pastrami. The hot pastrami was a biggie and it came in a box. It was a few dollars more than the other sandwiches at around $18 but it was a lot of food, I had to eat half and then half again later. Each time I was so full I had to rethink my life choices while waiting to digest the meal so be warned; you will get full. This location got really packed after I came in at around 11:50am but they knocked out the sandwiches pretty quick, not a long wait at all. It's a nice clean store tucked away among businesses. Best sandwich place ever! I promise you will never have a better sourdough sandwhich. For the price, the sandwiches are double the size that you would get somewhere else. All of the meat tasted very fresh too and was delicious! They also have the most incredible cookies, including lemon, macadamia nut, and chocolate chip. The service was incredible with the workers being attentive and very nice. The owner is the sweetest man and was talking to my mom and I the entire time we were there.
