Came here with my father for wine and cheese tasting. The service was great, the cheese and wine were delicious. The owner was very polite and conversational. My father usually doesn't get out much, so it was nice to go to a place where the service was smooth. I would love to have an event here. What a wonderful place! We enjoyed a cheese board and wine flights during our first visit. The pairings were excellent, the cheese board was beautifully prepared, and Paige was so friendly and knowledgeable about the wine and cheese. Great Place Paige and Jackie are the best knowledgeable on all the cheeses and even offer wine or beer to go with the cheese. They offer flights of 4 cheese for like $10 but allow you to sample cheeses till you find the 4 you want. Must try the devilish Pickles SO DAMN GOOD read more

You can tell that they care about what they serve and make an effort to buy stuff they know people will enjoy. They also have awesome beers on draft. Fun and tasty! Our first time at The Cheese Patch and it was a fun tasty time. (We used a Groupn) We had the cheese board for 2 with a flights of 2 whites and 2 reds. It was busy (right after the St. Pat's Parade) but the shop was calm, it even has a little Irish music playing. In the front of the shop you'll find stool and bars for noshing on the delish paninis they make. Also a counter to select craft beers on tap and cheeses. In the back is a seating area for the serious wine and cheese tastings...and all of the fun! Service was great. The cheese and fruit/nut cracker selection was spot on. The wine...meh. Could have been better but then we had a Groupon. We had a blast. Bought some add'l cheese and fig jam to take home. We'll be back! read more

If there was anyway possible to give zero stars I would. I'm still confused how it got 4.5 stars someone must have been paid to write these reviews. The prices are sky high for tiny bite sized platters. I'm sitting in this place right now. We've been here for an hour and we just got our meat plate. Ordered 2 cheese plates I'm still wondering if they're waiting for our cheese to get warm before they serve it... they didn't even give us a menu we found it and when we were telling the waitress what we wanted she said "I'll just meet you up at the counter. Cause we don't have a lot of the things on the menu"... update. We got our meat board ate it all. Then got one cheese board. Still waiting on the other one. She didn't even tell us what cheese is on the board it's a big guessing game. If you're really into cheese and don't mind going for a little drive. I HIGHLY recommend going to brew cheese in northport. The service here is absolutely terrible. And btw. Don't eat the crackers. The fake red headed lady that looks like she's got sunburn in the middle of March coughed on them. They have a suggestion box but I don't think I could fit this journal entry into the box.... we just finished our first cheese board and all our drinks. The group decided to ask for the check as soon as the next cheese board comes there's only 4 tables here. How could this service be so bad. read more

Went there last night with a Groupon for a tasting with 4 people. They said the tasting would have been $90 without the Groupon. I cannot imagine how they would charge that much for the tasting. You get the equivalent of one glass of wine each (its okay wine) and not a lot of much else. The cheese was good, but the tasting was sized for 2, not 4. Although there are many cheeses on the menu, you do not get to pick anything. It is brought to you, without any choices. There are no good breads or crackers. They bring you some crackers, but again, one kind, of their choice. Lastly, the place was empty, but the service was still not good. In summary, I would not go back and will be surprised if it is still there 12 months from now. read more

Don't buy the Groupon, and better yet, don't even bother going in. I will never return. Me and 5 of our friends bought the Groupon. First off we were told we need to make a reservation which is understandable BUT the Groupon did not say we needed a reservation. When we told them that they said it was added later on. About ten minutes later people left from the bar and the bar was empty but because we did not have a reservation we could not sit there. It remained empty until we left over an hour later. The gentleman was nice and explained we would have to wait a few minutes since we didn't have a reservation (again it was not on the Groupon). The gentleman brought out the wine and said the woman would bring out our cheese and explain it for the pairing. She brought it out and walked away. He again said she would be back to explain- no one ever came over to check up or even explained it. We basically guessed what kind of cheese we were eating. We wanted to order regular food and we never even had the chance so after we ended up going somewhere else to eat. We had two cheese platters - only one came with a knife. The other did not so we had to keep passing around the knife between 5 people or use our fingers to scoop cheese. This wouldn't have been a huge deal if we had a table, but we were split into two different locations. Finally we asked for the check and waited a significant amount of time before she came back over and said she can't give us our check until she redeems the other Groupon (right after she said that, another woman gave us the check --before it was redeemed). Once we got the check the tax was $11.75 which to our surprise was tax on the original price which would be around $90 not on the Groupon price- not to mention I've never been charged for tax when using a Groupon before. Overall this was the worst experience ever and we will never return. Also as we were leaving we saw another couple who were waiting an extremely long time. We ended up speaking to them and they had told us they had made a reservation and we're still waiting an extremely long time, and would be leaving in 3 minutes if they were not acknowledged. I'm patient and fine with waiting if the place is busy, but they didn't need to be rude (except for the gentleman who kept talking to us --but he had left before we were done), could have apologized for the poor service, and didn't need to make us feel back for not knowing we "needed" a reservation. The service was terrible and really put a damper on an otherwise fun night out. read more

Ugh, I am so jealous that my town doesn't have a cute ass cheese shop but instead we have two flipping olive oil stores (I'm looking at you Huntington). We came here because I was gifted a Groupon for my birthday and had decided to finally check this place out. My hubs and I called ahead just to make sure we could still use it (it was 100% expired) and they said no problem and we made reservation for 8 pm. We came in and were seated right away in to the back corner of the cafe which made for very romantic ambiance if you are into that sort of thing, if not the tables have cheese labels on them so that was cool too. She said she would be with us in a little bit while she got everything set up, I did not mind waiting because I understand that not only is she the owner but she is also the hostess/server/sommelier/ and cheese wizard. She poured the wine (2 reds and 2 whites) and then began to explain each of the 4 cheeses on the board and which wine compliments which cheese. The portions of cheese were perfect and i was left feeling pretty full after dinner (my husband did eat a hamburger afterwards but he is also the incredible hulk sooo...). The cheese was wonderful, Paige could not have been more knowledgeable about cheese or a more gracious host. I would recommend this to any of my cheese snob friends and i will totally be back, so much more cheese to try! read more

We should have gone to Yelp first -- because the hours of operation listing is INCORRECT on the actual "The Cheese Patch" website, but correct on Yelp. We bought a Groupon and drove all the way to Patchogue specifically to try this place -- out only to find it is closed on Mondays. I have been coming to the Cheese Patch pretty much since they opened and it is amazing!! Paige is awesome and so knowledgeable with all the cheeses and what wines and beers go with what. Was greeted with "do you have a reservation?" Told her no and asked if it was a problem and she said "no". After waiting 20 minutes, wasn't offered a menu or even if we wanted a drink... there were 2 waitress. One tending to those at the bar area (wish we would have sat there) and one for 4 tables of people. We were COMPLETELY IGNORED!! The waitress was only helping one table (4 persons) who kept yelling "get us meat" and she brought them a meat plate... "get us beer" she escorted one BEHIND the counter to show him what beer was available... after 20 minutes WE LEFT!!!!! I NEVER expected to be COMPLETELY IGNORED!! We have been there before and the service was impeccable.. this time ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED!! To be honest... I do not think I will be back!!! There are many more places in Patchogue to go.. with better service!! Real estate on Main Street is VERY VALUABLE!!! Keep ignoring your patrons and someone else will have a thriving business where the Cheese Patch once stood. read more

What can I say? I simply love this place. The people, atmosphere, and of course the cheese!! Think I've tried every cheese on the menu at this point as well as a couple of paninis and wine tastings. Also love the craft beers and ciders. I would have my wedding reception here if I could. I may name my first born Kunik, or maybe cambazola. The icing on the cake is the newly installed bar and live music on Saturday nights. Plus they host community events from time to time. read more

I was so excited to try yet another fun and funky place on the Main Street of Patchogue, and from the reviews I was convinced this was a great place to suggest my friends and I go! Looking forward to the wine pairing with the cheese and possibly the fondue, we were looking for something light and "appetizery"! The place was nearly empty except for a table of 5, we were sat at the table nearest them, which had they cleared the empty table from previous guests we could have been somewhere the waitress wasn't on top of all of us. We waited a good 20 minutes after being sat, no menus no explanations, no pre drink suggestions, nothing. Since this was our first time I thought "well maybe she is getting it together, altho she hadn't asked what we were interested in after she say us, but I was willing to wait it out" The first thing she said to us "well I am the only one here, as you can see the owner has left me and I have no idea where she is" SHe said this to the other table and to us once more after she delivered our wine and cheese, made us feel very uncomfortable. TACKY! DO not run down your boss! Then the cheese and wine samples came out, in about another 10 minutes. The presentation of the wines with the cheeses was nice and the wine, cheese (she selected) , the fig jam, the toasted almonds, all great!! (Very small portions, considering it was the tray for 4, and there were only 3 of us, I was expecting more than a few ounces!) But then we never saw her again, I had to get up to get additional cheese knives, crackers and the 3rd time I went to look for her, she had disappeared as well...still no water. Finally after thinking the fondue would have been nice to try, we gave up, asked for our ticket (while she was clearing tables, yet to ask us how things tasted, would we care for anything else) I was embarrassed that I was the one to pick this place, it could have been a cool experience but it left me thinking some cheese from Guintas and a bottle of White Zin would have been more fun! read more
