As the world changes and our supermarkets ever continue to evolve with inflation, food regulations and everything else in between, Giunta's has said true to form for as long as they've been on Long Island. If anything, this is my favorite of their locations. It always felt closest to a C*town which what I grew up with on Cross Bay Blvd. The prices are a tiny bit higher but the quality is better. The produce is where it's at. Wait...no the bread. Whenever I stop here to pick up bread on my way to the Fam, it's always warm. Always! You're going to get the good stuff here too; Queso fresco, sofritas and more. Like I mentioned before, their bakery is legit. Finally, I remember when they were a little further north on 112 and a tiny little supermarket. Since they moved to this bigger lot, they have been pretty stocked. Please don't leave this lot, ever, Giunta! Pro tip: their deli section is fire, and there you find prepackaged Panera bread, soups. I've been shopping at Gianuta since it reopened thier store nearer to Rt 27. Over the past 2 weeks I bought baked goods that were stale and produce that went bad in 4 days. The produce was refrigerated and kept as I usually do but the parsley and celery were usless 4 days after I purchased them. I think the produce has always been been questionable as far as its ripness but I'm a careful shopper and thought I checked the conditions of the vegetables I purchased. Would NOT recommend this establishment because of the way they treat their customers I recently was shopping in their Patchogue location with my husband We were followed by 2 security men the entire time.. Then I go to.check out and the cashier tells me Rudely to put my bags on the counter then asks if he could go thru them ... I felt so violated and like I was,being treated like a criminal It was a very Unsettling & upsetting experience.. The meat here is "butcher shop" expensive. Gone are the bargain prices. Skirt steak is now $24.99 per pound. Rib Eye steak is $15.99 per pound. I might as well dine in a steakhouse, like Texas Roadhouse or LongHorn, where staff prepare the same meats with two sides included. So I did not buy any meat today. Going back as far as the 1990s I'd been occasionally hitting the old location of Giunta's Meat Farm a little further north on Route 112. I found their meats superior to other area markets (well, not counting custom butcher shops that I can't afford to use regularly). And their produce had far greater variety and was just as fresh, if not fresher, than those other markets. I did not tend to buy much beyond meat & produce. With the stores move to just north of Sunrise Highway, they are just as convenient for me as any other store. And I still rate their meat, deli, and produce departments (or ). Although they did not take over all the space that had been a Pathmark, the store was much enlarged. It has now become my primary store for grocery shopping. I do occasionally use others for some variety that Meat Farm's size prevents them carrying. And so far. Just like I just said in a review of the local Target: the employees have all been friendly, courteous, and helpful. My only complaint is several of them don't speak English well... but I'll look at that from the perspective of my ability in Spanish is horrible! read more

Here we go again! 1st If you want cold cuts it's never less than 30 minutes before you grab your number and finish your order. 2nd If the deli person shows you the slice to confirm that it's the thickness you want, go play the lotto because it's your lucky day! 3rd We notices that the roast beef was at the end and too well done for our liking so we asked them to please open a new boars head package. Rather than make the customer happy, they said "They're all the same!" and refused to open a new roast beef where it's cut in the middle and more rare than at the very end. Lazy! Lazy! Call me sheltered, or perhaps misinformed, but my girlfriend and her family spent countless times cooking and making plenty of meaty meals, compliments of what they called "meat farms." This alone never came up as a coincidence to me, until a couple weeks ago when I was with her and we pulled into the parking lot of Giunta Meat Farms on Route 112. Suddenly, it hit me. I always see these markets being raved about by my Yelp kin and unbeknownst to me until then, I was about to get a chance to peruse one! I was gonna throw a "Hooray!" in there but I didn't want to overdo it. I mean in the end Giunta's is just a supermarket. Then again, it's got some real charm compared to many I know in my area. For one, the meat selection (well duh). Price and quality of choice was vast and the real kicker is the ability to buy a cut of meat and have it prepared any way you like by the butcher. You don't see that everyday. We landed on some sweet and spicy sausages (together in the same package) and moved along. Beyond the pork, beef, and poultry, there were some other in-house options that looked appetizing. The bakery, salads at the deli, and many other fridge-found foods had us intrigued. A fabulously-priced flatbread covered in peppers peeked our interest enough that we added it to our purchasing mix. Produce also had me pondering with some pepper choices not usually found at your run-of-the-mill market. We did hit a snag when thinking of buying avocados and finding the price close to outrageous, but that just goes to show what truly shines here. We're at a meat farm after all, if the red silo entrance outside wasn't a dead giveaway! A few days later we cooked the sausages and made the bread. The pork was fresh and juicy with a little kick from the spicy kind and a meaty flavor from the regular. That pepper bread didn't go over so well for my girlfriend (a little spicy actually), but spice is my middle name (I have many) and I loved the darn thing. Consider this just the beginning of meals for us that may be concocted using Giunta's as the main ingredient. Overall, I feel like I made a wonderful (and obvious) connection, that Giunta's and "Meat Farms" are one and same. It was a moment of excitement and rightfully so because GMF deserves some credit for knowing a thing or two about its meat. I'll be back in for more carnivorous purchasing soon enough. read more

My mother and I went to the Giunta's Meat Market in Medford, Long Island on July 27, 2024. Among other items we bought some bologna. The slices not only got me very sick, it got my dog sick too. Days later when I brought the plastic bag of bologna back, the manager refused to give me the $6.78, claiming the money had to be put back on my mother's. I showed him the receipt and tainted product to no avail. After a brief argument, I told him where he could stuff the bologna and left. I will never go back! read more

Their Italian bread is consistently fresh and usually still hot. The prices are always affordable. So this is a great last minute place to get some eggs and milk. They have a descent selection of items but not as big as other supermarkets so if you are looking for something particular.. this is not the place. That's why Im giving the 4 stars Alright, now for the positives. The bakery.. Holy mother of Bread. Fresh, crispy, yummy aisles of carbs and fresh made Italian cakes and desserts. Oh and did I mention the cheese ? Yummy variety of cheese. There is also something about the fruit and veggies here. I enjoy it a lot more here than most other super markets. This is a Market for meats, cheeses, Fruits and Vegetables. The fruit and Vegetables are piled high. The meat department has a wide variety. The deli counter is great. Fresh mozzarella is just as good as an Italian pork store. They made a line of their own Italian sauces as well as pasta. I've always enjoyed Meat Farms rotisserie chicken-so flavorful. But the store in Medford just had that 'old Pathmark' feeling. So they moved to the 'old Pathmark' location in Patchogue. I was extremely impressed. The fresh produce had me smizing-smiling with my eyes-you know with the mask & all. I love the abundance of different fruits & veggies to choose from. Prices are competitive. But freshness goes a long way. The staff are very nice. Management please keep up the good work. A happy team, keeps happy customers. I bought the seafood salad they make there. I have bought it many times. This time it had a funny taste. So I brought it back and was interrogated by a obvious non customer experience night (boy) Spanish speaking about me like I don't t understand. Lolol manager. Just because I didn't have my receipt. He asked when where how keeping there for nearly a half hour. Needless to say I walk away with no credit no refund and will never go back. This is the absolutely, bar-none cheapest spot for Boar's Head cold cuts. They also have an enormous produce department, with two caveats: little to no organic produce and while quite cheap, much of it is very ripe and ready-to-eat, immediately. Also, they sell packaged "soup" or "marrow" bones, which my dogs LOVE! Consistently excellent guest service, full of Italian and Spanish foods. Great produce department, always fresh (also, sometimes has some lower quality stuff shrink-wrapped on styrofoam for cheap, and is great for the juicer). Fresh herbs and stuff the chain supermarkets don't offer (huge bunches of cilantro, mint & basil). Varied italian specialties and fine selection of giant cans of olive oils, canned goods, cheeses, and smoked meats. On-site butcher, bakery, deli department and seafood that always looks pretty fresh. It packs out, so I avoid prime-time shopping. I recently had a craving for a good steak to cook on the grill so I went to my local supermarkets to purchase some. I live in the Shirley area and went to Stop and Shop, King Kullen, and Lidl. All were very disappointing with the high prices and inferior selections with all their meats. So I drove to the new Giunta's Meat Farms in Medford and instantly knew this would be my one stop shopping Supermarket.All products are less expensive than the others. It is very clean, great selections and great prices! For the extra 5-7 minute drive I usually took it is well worth it. I did find my $8.99 per pound beautiful shell steaks and they came out tender and juicy hot off the grill melt in your mouth delicious! That was always the problem with the local stores I mentioned- the meat is overpriced and tough to chew not to mention they are never consistent with their selections. Small carts and small Isles will require you to move around at least ten people there on one shopping trip. This is one of three Giuntas I know of around with a good location for BBQ Shopping, there is a beer distributor and liquor store right next door. It seems discounts come from volume of products the sell in good vegetable and fruit selections. You do need to be a bit of an expert to make your choices though, as some of these have spots or under ripe. This Is not bad for a real cook who likes to spend the time pricing specifics based on when you will be cooking and using the ingredients. IT leads to the old school of market values and choice which is not present in larger chains who sell petri dish indoor grown greens. Prices on Meats are great, and you can ask them for specific cuts with some advance. Another element here is the different breed of shopper which stems from old or vintage Long Island characters knowledgeable of the roads before they were expanded. Many people shopping here are seniors who have found their way for years. read more

Great place to pick up on veggies and fruits for a reasonable price. Don't expect anything organic as it is an economy place but good value. I go there for getting some obscure vegetables that no one else carries like habenero peppers usually in summer but rarely see it in Winter. if you are into South/Central American or West African Cuisine, they have the West African Yam ('White Name') from time to time. I love shopping here and now you can shop from home. This location always has full stock of what you need and fresh meats, produce and deli meats are fresh too all the time. I do my big shopping here. They are pretty competitive in their prices. You can see that they work hard to keep this store fully stocked, food fresh and clean. Even during Covid. My husband loves coming here also. He loves to go early in the morning. He goes to the nice deli counter and then picks up whatever things we need. I also have a friend that drives there from 3 towns over and she lives by so many stores but she chooses this one because of how great this place is. Great variety of produce at fair prices. Although no Organics. The cold cut counter has a massive selection of Boars ahead products at great prices. The Staff is super nice , but mega slow. I also grabbed couple of steaks, sausage and chicken which all looks great. Again, I wish they would carry more organic,grain fed meats. I shop here every week for my meat and produce. Unless you come at really off hours, it is always crowded. Sometimes the clientele can be interesting, but thats what you get for somewhere that is cheaply priced. Chicken is usually priced at $1.99 per lb, which they will cut and trim for free. Good selection of beef, pork, and varieties of sausage. The produce is cheap, but as mentioned in a previous review, can spoil quickly so choose carefully. Deli meats are usually cheaper than supermarket, but the deli staff is hit and miss. Some clueless, some rude, and some good ones. Good luck. There is always plenty of registers open and you dont have to wait long to get checked out. Parking lot is always packed and can be dicey getting around because of the volume. read more

There were 4 people working behind the counter, two of the 4 were cleaning not helping any customers. I was next and now there is a line formed and the person who I thought was going to help me stopped, to go clean. Now there's only one person slicing and he is moving slow and stopping to chit chat with the other guy not helping.
