Cheaper to make sirloin steak at home than to order it out!
    Gail B.

The meat here is "butcher shop" expensive. Gone are the bargain prices. Skirt steak is now $24.99 per pound. Rib Eye steak is $15.99 per pound. I might as well dine in a steakhouse, like Texas Roadhouse or LongHorn, where staff prepare the same meats with two sides included. So I did not buy any meat today. Instead, I bought some vegetables to roast on the grill this evening for dinner. They are still a bargain here.

Look at the tendents on every one of them

I've been going there for years. I bought chicken cutlets from them about a week ago. I want to make them tonight for dinner and all you see all the chicken tendons on every piece of chicken place is going down the shitter and this isn't the first time

Veggies in the meat farm? Yup!
    Josh G.

Call me sheltered, or perhaps misinformed, but my girlfriend and her family spent countless times cooking and making plenty of meaty meals, compliments of what they called "meat farms." This alone never came up as a coincidence to me, until a couple weeks ago when I was with her and we pulled into the parking lot of Giunta Meat Farms on Route 112. Suddenly, it hit me. I always see these markets being raved about by my Yelp kin and unbeknownst to me until then, I was about to get a chance to peruse one! I was gonna throw a "Hooray!" in there but I didn't want to overdo it. I mean in the end Giunta's is just a supermarket. Then again, it's got some real charm compared to many I know in my area. For one, the meat selection (well duh). Price and quality of choice was vast and the real kicker is the ability to buy a cut of meat and have it prepared any way you like by the butcher. You don't see that everyday. We landed on some sweet and spicy sausages (together in the same package) and moved along. Beyond the pork, beef, and poultry, there were some other in-house options that looked appetizing. The bakery, salads at the deli, and many other fridge-found foods had us intrigued. A fabulously-priced flatbread covered in peppers peeked our interest enough that we added it to our purchasing mix. Produce also had me pondering with some pepper choices not usually found at your run-of-the-mill market. We did hit a snag when thinking of buying avocados and finding the price close to outrageous, but that just goes to show what truly shines here. We're at a meat farm after all, if the red silo entrance outside wasn't a dead giveaway! A few days later we cooked the sausages and made the bread. The pork was fresh and juicy with a little kick from the spicy kind and a meaty flavor from the regular. That pepper bread didn't go over so well for my girlfriend (a little spicy actually), but spice is my middle name (I have many) and I loved the darn thing. Consider this just the beginning of meals for us that may be concocted using Giunta's as the main ingredient. Overall, I feel like I made a wonderful (and obvious) connection, that Giunta's and "Meat Farms" are one and same. It was a moment of excitement and rightfully so because GMF deserves some credit for knowing a thing or two about its meat. I'll be back in for more carnivorous purchasing soon enough.

Hey Long Island, meet Memphis and Texas!! Wow wow woohoo!! Had an incredible experience at Bobbique…read morelet me tell you! Listen, I love smokin BBQ and really enjoy putting in the time for those long cooks as a hobby. So heres my experience and how I came to love this place. Came in on a gorgeous day in May, the BBQ season knocking on the door. I BBQ year round but tis the season is what I'm getting at; and was just jiving for some good smoked BBQ. Thing is I didn't have the time to get a cook going since getting home from work late so we decided to give this well recommended spot a shot. Wow what a great choice and sooo happy we came here!! Some things were ordered were the St. Louis ribs, pulled pork, BBQ chicken, jumbo BBQ chicken wings...sides were collard greens, red potato salad and mac & cheese: and every single item was outstanding. All came with the staple corned bread. I wish could have ordered the whole menu, everything looked great but sort of "aimed in the middle" I suppose. The ribs were tender, with a perfect bite pull. Great smoke flavor..just was a real nice rib. The pulled pork was juicy, and the BBQ chicken and their jumbo wings were on point; crispy skin and juicy meat. The collard greens, potato salad and mac & cheese were great sides to complete but they have much more sides to choose from let me tell you. Had a really unique experience and one of my highlights of the visit was having the pleasure and opportunity to meet and take a quick tour with chef and owner Eric, who takes real pride in what he does. It's immediately clear the passion, dedication, and respect he has for the craft of true smoked BBQ. Whats important to understand is how difficult it is to master smoked BBQ. Authentic smoked BBQ is NOT fast food!! Brisket alone can take anywhere from 12-18 hours to cook properly, and unlike many other styles of cooking, mistakes cannot simply be fixed quickly. If pasta is overcooked, you make another batch. If a steak is undercooked, you throw it back on the grill. If a sauce is under seasoned you can adjust it..etc BBQ doesn't work like that! To use brisket again..If a brisket dries out after an hours long cook (mostly started overnight before the restaurant even opens) that entire piece of meat is basically gone. You cannot "undo" it. List goes on for everything else... Quality BBQ is hard to come by, especially outside places like Memphis and Texas. Real BBQ is one of the few forms of cooking where the chef is controlling a live fire, timing, airflow, smoke, temperature, and consistency all at the same time. You gotta appreciate this stuff! Ladies and gentlemen, Bobbique is one of those unique places that truly respects the craft. This place is firing on all cylinders! You will taste the experience, patience, and hard work in every bite. I 100% definitely recommend making this your go to for great BBQ. Absolutely worth the visit. I can't wait to come back to this spot!

Smoked brisket is amazing! Baked beans are great …read more We like the collard greens too . Waitress warned us there a little different then some places because they are sweet. Everything was delicious and the service was great. I honestly don't understand why this place doesn't get a higher rating. I've been to way worse places that had much higher reviews on yelp.

Listen, I'm just as surprised as you…read more I tend to be wary of very expensive restaurants on Long Island. Many of them charge city prices with mediocre fare, and truly, Chops was never on my list because of it. With that being said, a friend and I were looking for the most bang for our buck during restaurant week and since Chops was on the list, we figured, why not? Inside is dimly lit with red and black hues throughout. The staff was super kind (and honestly had jokes) throughout the night. For starters we ordered the baby lamb chops, I ordered the salmon and for dessert, the banana pudding. It did take a while for our food to arrive but I guess that's as expected with restaurant week! The lamb, buttery and salted well. A welcome surprise considering how meager it looked on the plate. The salmon itself, well cooked with a lovely pistachio crust. But my favorite dish of the night was that banana pudding. It was overwhelmingly packed with caramelized banana flavor and I loved it. My friend raved about her porkchop and cheesecake. For the amount that we paid, it was such a satisfying meal. With all that being said, if I had paid market price, I'm not sure I'd be quite as happy. But, overall, its a good, solid steakhouse to try out!
