I first fried up a few and added them to a small pot of marinara sauce. When we ate it, there were hard lumps of what I would call grizzle in the sausage. I figured I didn't let them cook down enough to render all of the fat so yesterday I fried up a bunch again and added then to a pot of sauce and let them cook down for a much longer time. Same result with the lumps of grizzle. Although the flavor was good I have come to the conclusion that once again another pork place is adding cuts into the sausage that don't belong there. I threw what I had left in the freezer into the garbage. Why is it that no one makes a good sausage without it having hard grizzle or bone fragments anymore? I can remember when I was young and my mother made sausage in the sauce this was never an issue. They were always easy to chew and delicious. Now you have to worry about breaking your teeth! I am sadly giving up on trying to find good Italian sausage. Since Swan Butcher closed in Bethpage, no one knows how to make it anymore. I am sorry to say we will not be back.

Hey Long Island, meet Memphis and Texas!! Wow wow woohoo!! Had an incredible experience at Bobbique…read morelet me tell you! Listen, I love smokin BBQ and really enjoy putting in the time for those long cooks as a hobby. So heres my experience and how I came to love this place. Came in on a gorgeous day in May, the BBQ season knocking on the door. I BBQ year round but tis the season is what I'm getting at; and was just jiving for some good smoked BBQ. Thing is I didn't have the time to get a cook going since getting home from work late so we decided to give this well recommended spot a shot. Wow what a great choice and sooo happy we came here!! Some things were ordered were the St. Louis ribs, pulled pork, BBQ chicken, jumbo BBQ chicken wings...sides were collard greens, red potato salad and mac & cheese: and every single item was outstanding. All came with the staple corned bread. I wish could have ordered the whole menu, everything looked great but sort of "aimed in the middle" I suppose. The ribs were tender, with a perfect bite pull. Great smoke flavor..just was a real nice rib. The pulled pork was juicy, and the BBQ chicken and their jumbo wings were on point; crispy skin and juicy meat. The collard greens, potato salad and mac & cheese were great sides to complete but they have much more sides to choose from let me tell you. Had a really unique experience and one of my highlights of the visit was having the pleasure and opportunity to meet and take a quick tour with chef and owner Eric, who takes real pride in what he does. It's immediately clear the passion, dedication, and respect he has for the craft of true smoked BBQ. Whats important to understand is how difficult it is to master smoked BBQ. Authentic smoked BBQ is NOT fast food!! Brisket alone can take anywhere from 12-18 hours to cook properly, and unlike many other styles of cooking, mistakes cannot simply be fixed quickly. If pasta is overcooked, you make another batch. If a steak is undercooked, you throw it back on the grill. If a sauce is under seasoned you can adjust it..etc BBQ doesn't work like that! To use brisket again..If a brisket dries out after an hours long cook (mostly started overnight before the restaurant even opens) that entire piece of meat is basically gone. You cannot "undo" it. List goes on for everything else... Quality BBQ is hard to come by, especially outside places like Memphis and Texas. Real BBQ is one of the few forms of cooking where the chef is controlling a live fire, timing, airflow, smoke, temperature, and consistency all at the same time. You gotta appreciate this stuff! Ladies and gentlemen, Bobbique is one of those unique places that truly respects the craft. This place is firing on all cylinders! You will taste the experience, patience, and hard work in every bite. I 100% definitely recommend making this your go to for great BBQ. Absolutely worth the visit. I can't wait to come back to this spot!

Everything was delicious and the service was great. I honestly don't understand why this place doesn't get a higher rating. I've been to way worse places that had much higher reviews on yelp.

Gone are the days of the Brickhouse brewery. Now you have a super classy joint that resides right in Patchogue. A place that, I'm reminded by my husband every time we drive through, use to not be so classy. My sister requested that we have her baby shower here because she was such a fan of the food. And she was right. The food is fresh and delicious and featured in a very well thought out menu. Julien was a pleasure to work with during the preparations. Allowing access to the space during not busy times to help us plan our decorations. Day of it was all hands on deck. Julien, Anna and our amazing bartender with the handlebar mustache exceeded our expectations. The food was incredible. My sister had the best time and that's all that matters. And I have the State Room to thank for it. Posting few pics of the rooms before the guests arrives so you have an idea of the space :)

Listen, I'm just as surprised as you…read more I tend to be wary of very expensive restaurants on Long Island. Many of them charge city prices with mediocre fare, and truly, Chops was never on my list because of it. With that being said, a friend and I were looking for the most bang for our buck during restaurant week and since Chops was on the list, we figured, why not? Inside is dimly lit with red and black hues throughout. The staff was super kind (and honestly had jokes) throughout the night. For starters we ordered the baby lamb chops, I ordered the salmon and for dessert, the banana pudding. It did take a while for our food to arrive but I guess that's as expected with restaurant week! The lamb, buttery and salted well. A welcome surprise considering how meager it looked on the plate. The salmon itself, well cooked with a lovely pistachio crust. But my favorite dish of the night was that banana pudding. It was overwhelmingly packed with caramelized banana flavor and I loved it. My friend raved about her porkchop and cheesecake. For the amount that we paid, it was such a satisfying meal. With all that being said, if I had paid market price, I'm not sure I'd be quite as happy. But, overall, its a good, solid steakhouse to try out!
