These guys are pretty good. The scheduling is generally good; they give you a two-hour window and usually show up within it. If you are not there when they come for service, they just spray the outside of your house. At least once they came and left before I got home. I left work early to get home before the window of time when they told me they would come to spray. When I got home, there was a note saying that they had already come and sprayed outside but not inside (could not get in without me here.) I got really upset with them and phoned and they came back and sprayed indoors. The service I got did not smell bad, did not seem overdone. And it worked. No bugs! read more

I do not know who Bugmaster is. They have faxed me relentlessly in the past. It appears somehow they bought a list to market to without my knowledge. About 4 months, they faxed me constantly everyday. I called them about 30 times and asked them to stop. It did stop for awhile. Now in the last 4 days they have faxed me I counted 35 times. I keep calling them to ask them to stop and they tell me they do not know who is faxing me. It seems obvious a marketing company has bought some list and is soliciting to whoever will receive the fax. V. V. read more

We are a commercial client for about a year now and I have requested to know in advance when our scheduled date is - OR a call anytime that month prior to the schedule date would suffice, however, I have not been given that info as of yet, and it makes it a little hard to prepare. *Update* I reached out to the business as requested by Jessie. He did not respond on my first attempt. I emailed again, saying I was the review on Yelp and he asked that I contact him. He said there email was down but he would call for sure the next day. That was over a week ago. I have lived in Austin since 1977 - I stay local when I can. I won't pay for services I don't get. And, it takes more than a quick response Yelp to correct a problem. You actually have to follow up and do as you say. If I could remove one more star I would. m giving the 1 star review for the business practices of Bug Master. I have been a long time client; when I started with their service I was very upfront about my schedule and how important appointment times are. I was assured they could meet my requests; which were very simple...come at the time scheduled on Saturday. This almost never happened and each time I called in to talk to the office about it I was assured the problem would be resolved. The last call before my service this past Saturday came with promises from the service manager notes would be made on my account and there would be no confusion as to what the techs and office staff needed to do. They should schedule my service at a specific time and then be there at that time, very simple stuff. They couldn't get this accomplished. So, when I was contacted today with "I hear you wanted a call from a manager". I then asked if he reviewed my account to see what the ongoing issues were he said no but he would right then as we were on the phone. He went on to say there were no notes. I have talked and emailed the office and managers at least 6 times. I was assured the last time there would be no confusion and yet the manager that called said there were no note and "what was the problem"? I decided to give my money to a business that wanted it. Temple, TX - There were ants getting into my house through the windows and I knew they were making their home inside. I called Bug Master to arrange for an inspection. The Temple, TX Bug Master inspector agreed there were ants....carpenter. Plus, he showed me a piece of wood from the fence line and said there were termites. NO way.....termites need moisture and darkness and make little dirt tunnels. I called Terminex and their inspector said I had fire ants, not carpenter ants. Also, no termites. The apartment complex I live in uses bug master. I get a note on my door every month about routine extermination, but have never had an exterminator come by. Also, I was charged for a bed bug extermination, and they didn't inspect or treat the whole building. And they used chemicals and only did one treatment. It takes several chemical treatments to kill ALL bed bugs. Bug master is terrible, and doesn't do their job correctly and there are still signs of the bed bugs in my apartment. I had my own exterminator from another company come in and tell me how a bed bug extermination is suppose to be handled. The extermination was NOT done correctly, and I have to pay a lot of money and still have these bed bugs. Customer service was no help either. This company is a joke. read more

I have my cell phone all day with me but no call at all. I called customer service. She said the technician call me but I know they didn't tell me the truth . And I had my house ready since Monday. Bug Master has always taken care of us each time we've called. Most recently, with all of the bugs that we've had, they came out an additional two times at no cost to take are of the problem. They've always been professional and knowledgeable with where needed to be sprayed and addressed. Update from my review 3 years ago. We moved into a new house in a new subdivision and were inundated with pest control companies wanting our business. Some asked who we used and what we paid and said they would beat the price. Really? That's someone I would not want to use. We stayed with The Bug Master and our new technician is absolutely wonderful. He is respectful of our home and is as professional as one can be. And, their service WORKS! Do not hire them for rodent removal/control. Lots of great reviews about spraying for bugs, but none for rodent control. Showed extreme lack of expertise - we led and asked questions instead of them being experts that assess, provide custom recommendations, and then promptly take care of the problem until complete. Missed a lot of work bc they had to reschedule appointments 4 times in 5 days. Canceled contract after being fed up and found a great replacement who is extremely experienced and diligent. read more

The friendly and knowledgeable staff always have arrived when promised. My home was infested with critters just trying to find some water and a place to hang out. One had the audacity to crawl over my leg late one night. Unfortunately, I'm terrified of bugs and let out a scream that woke up the entire household. Time to spring into action ! Bug Master came highly recommended so I decided to give them a try. Am I glad I did. Branddon Gutierrez arrived at 10:00 when he promised. Next he took the time to listen to my concerns about the chemicals being used (I have pets) and to identify the problem areas. He explained the environmental and pet friendly solution he would be using. After he sprayed the perimeter of the house, he offered to administer an extra dose of solution in the areas where these critters liked to hang out and scare the daylights out of me. This may come as a surprise, but I feel I need to tell about my dealings with Bug Master. Awhile back I had purchased my first home in North Austin. I knew I needed a good pest control company and I wanted to give some local guys my business rather than a big chain. I found bug master. I gave them a call and they talked me into buying a contract. It was a little less expensive than the other guys so I did it. My first appointment the tech came to my house and sprayed my whole yard and my entire house. That was the first and last time that ever happend. The tech assigned to my area always called and let me know about what time they would be there. I always made arrangement to be there during that time period. The first appointment after the initial one, I stayed home from work so I could let them in to do a thorough job. Nobody ever knocked on my door. After waiting all day and never leaving the house I happend to walk outdoors and found a note on my door stating they had been there and nobody answered the door so they only sprayed my yard. Well... I was there all day and heard no knock at my door. I also had two large dogs that would have barked and alerted me that someone was in the yard. I never heard that either. So I thought to myself... its possible they may have knocked while I was in the restroom or something and I simply didnt hear them but still wondered why I hadnt heard the dogs barking at him in the yard but oh well. I figured I would just get the whole treatment the next go round, no big deal. Well my next appointment came and I did the same thing... waited at home all day and never heard anyone come to my door. Later I found the note on my door again stating they had been by, nobody answered the door so they only sprayed my yard. I began growing increasingly suspicious of this company and or atleast the tech assigned to my area, so the next appointment, I made sure I sat in the livingroom which is right next to the front door, the entire time slot he was supposed to show up. I waited and waited and looked out the window every so often to see if I could see anything. Well at one point, I looked out and I did see one of their trucks parked several doors down. I said to myself... good...Im finally gonna get them inside to spray. I waited and waited, thinking maybe the neighbors also had a service contract with them and they were first on the list and the tech would come to my house when he was done with theirs. Iooked out the window and I could see that the tech was still sitting in his truck eating lunch or something so I gave it a few more min. I went again to look out the window and the truck was gone from my street and the tech had apparently quietly came to my door and placed the sorry we missed you note on my door yet again. Well you can imagine how im feeling at this point. I called the office to explain to them what had been going on and a woman answered. I dont know if she was an owner or just an office manager. I told her the situation and she got very nasty with me, basically accusing me of lying. She said the tech had been to my home, that it was on his log and that she would NOT send him out again. As if I were trying to get something free from them. I just wanted my part of the contract fulfilled. I had already paid my money and only been actually treated once. The woman ended up hanging up the phone on me and hung up on me when I called her back. I never heard from Bug Master again nor was my contract ever fulfilled, nor was I offered a refund. I had gotten laid off from my job and was living on a very limited income and could not afford to persue legal action. If I can save one hard working consumer from suffering this experience with Bug Master than I feel I did the right thing. I have no idea if that tech is still employed with them or not but that man basically was extremely lazy and very dishonest. He apparently would drive to the area of his appointments...I guess to make it appear as if he was actually doing his job if someone had looked at his log or mileage on his truck, and he was sitting in his truck, never getting out and doing his job. Bug Master stood behind their tech and disregarded the customer. Im not the type to complain unless I have just plain had enough. I let it slide several times before I even contacted them which I guess is my fault. I should have complained the very first time. I have since built a new home and again find myself in need of a quality pest control company. I can assure you it will not be Bug Master of Austin. I will go to the larger companies who apparently have more integrity. read more

They then gave me a live number to use, stating they were open and were closed. They now have my private info. When I asked them to remove it, I was ensured they wouldn't use it. I called Bug Master and spoke with a very helpful young lady who I explained that I had a very bad flea problem. The young lady first listened to my problem then she transferred me to Jose an inspector who answered my questions he also set up a time to come out to inspect the same day. When he arrived he looked very professional and in a Bug Master uniform! He noticed I had some droppings in and around my shed So on top of the flea problem I had a rodent problem.
