So far, so good. First off, read your contract - monthly plan with quarterly services. I was confused at first, but it makes sense. There are other companies that don't make you sign a contract, but it comes out more expensive and more like a sales pitch every visit. It's nice that the techs come out as often as needed. Great customer service and professionalism from the techs I've met with first 2 visits. Pet and child friendly repellent. We have insane carpenter/fire ants. The overall rating of this business is five stars. I decided to scan through the over 160 reviews and discovered that most of them were written by people with less than 20 reviews to their name. I tend to dismiss those reviews since they don't really have much skin in the Yelp game. There were just two elite reviews and that was a red flag to me as well. Nonetheless, I decided to give this company a chance and got a same day appointment to rid us of our carpenter ant issue. We've had carpenter ants running up and down our garage exterior for a long time and in the last few days we've had flying ants show up in our living room. It was time to bring in the pros. One thing you need to be aware of is that you can schedule an appointment for this service, but like most pest control companies, they will insist on a quarterly service agreement on top of the initial service. Our initial service cost was $134 which included a $75 discount that came with a $53 monthly payment for each quarterly visit. That comes to over $700 a year ( not including termite issue) for the basic service which does not apply to fire ants. Since I accepted the discounted initial service I had to sign up for a years worth of service before I had the option to cancel. That's something you need to keep in mind because that's a lot of money just to snuff out a few ants. The one and done service doesn't really pay the bills, it's the subscription service that drives the business. My same day appointment was scheduled between noon and three, they ( tech +trainee) showed up shortly after two. I let the tech know about the ant issue and we walked around the perimeter of the property while he swept away wasp nests. Inside he sprayed some powder in the upstairs attic while looking for any possible rodent infestation. The tech did spot some termite activity at the corner of the garage. After spraying the perimeter and infected areas with poison, he then treated the yard with ant bait that looked like Andro. We decided against spraying chemicals indoors due to sensitivities. The discovery of termites greatly added to the bill as pictured below. I'll go ahead and get the termite service and the quarterly check up during the contract period. I thought I would include all the bills and pertinent information so that you can get some idea of what you might experience. One thing that did catch me off guard was that after they left, I received a brief survey which then led me to a tip screen for the tech. It's not that he didn't deserve a tip, it was just the first time I had seen this form of online solicitation. Overall great experience with knowledgeable and friendly techs, not real happy about being funneled into a monthly payment plan for quarterly visits, but we'll see where that leads. It was quick and easy to transition our pest control to Stride Pest Control this summer. They were able to send someone out within a few days. As Justin was wrapping up, I remembered we had a hornet's nest growing underneath a lawn table and he said it was no problem to quickly remove it before he left. I am extremely disappointed with this pest control company's business practices and customer service. When the sales representative came for marketing, he clearly explained that this was a 1-year contract. He took my signature on his iPad and verbally explained the terms, so I trusted his explanation and did not carefully read the fine print. I was never informed that the contract would automatically continue beyond one year. After the one-year period ended, the company continued charging my credit card without any notice, email, or phone call. When I contacted them after two months of these charges, they told me there was a 30-day notice period required to cancel. I immediately informed them that I did not want to continue the service and requested a refund for the charges taken after the contract period. They said they would cancel the service but refused to refund the money, even though the charges were made without my consent or proper communication. The way this was explained to me was very unprofessional and dismissive. It was honestly very upsetting. This company is very friendly and convincing when they are trying to sell their service, but when customers have issues, their attitude completely changes. I felt misled, unheard, and treated unfairly. I would strongly advise others to be very careful, read every condition in detail, and not rely solely on verbal explanations. read more

I own a condo and our current pest control service for the exterior perimeter does not do wasp nest removal or spray for wasp. I have neighbors who started using Stride Pest control to control wasp nests and treat the interior of their condos. When I asked Bill Bob about wasp control services and pointed to wasp nests in the eaves of my two-story condo, he not only provided me information he took care of the wasp removal for me. I thought to myself, now this is a company I believe should be handling all of our pest control services for our entire community. When I called to a request a quote, I spoke to Michael. We've been happy customers of Stride since June 2018 and can safely say that Stride is a top pest control service in the Austin area. Our favorite part is you can shoot them a quick text with a picture of the problem, and they'll schedule an appointment, all over text! We pay for the regular treatments, but if critters start popping up between the service, they'll come out and re-treat (usually for free) - we cannot recommend Stride enough, if you're on the fence and reading this right now, you won't make the wrong decision to go with Stride. All of the technicians have been stellar, but specifically I wanted to mention Burton - he has come to our house on multiple occasions and is always very polite, informative and thorough. Burton always goes the extra mile to check everything out around the house before he leaves, beyond the areas we've mentioned, and always chats with me on his way out to let me know what was applied, how it was applied, and any follow up steps (an engineer's dream). I was all set to go with this company on a new service plan only to learn after talking to the sales rep that there is a cancellation clause in their 'contract' requiring customers to pay the remaining 60% of any 'contract' window. This was not communicated to me during my initial call to learn how Stride offers it's services. This should have been communicated up front and it was not. I would have declined either way and continued searching for another company. I have been an ABC customer for many years and while I had some issues with them recently I was never required to enter into a 'contract' with a cancellation clause. read more

So far so good....I had never used an extermination company before but after talking to some of the neighbors I decided to give it a shot...And after talking to Tyson and I wanna say Michael ( sorry if I'm wrong ) there was no turning back..Excellent communication and explained "in detail" what the benefits were and the things I could do on my own if I didn't want to go with a professional exterminator; but that MY results would definitely not be as good. I'm usually a DIY guy when it comes to pest control. I spray around the house every 6 months and set up baits with the first sign of potential pests. This combined with being clean in general has worked for year... until a sudden surge of ants last fall. The ants came suddenly in force. Normal baits (like Terro) held them off for a couple of days but they didn't stop the invasion like before. Within a few days, they were all over the kitchen and began invading the carpets in the living room as well. That's when I called Stride who took care of the issue swiftly. Rhett came to service our house on short notice. I asked a lot of technical questions and he was able to answer of them in great details. He sprayed inside the house and set down a lot of liquid baits. The baits were set up so inconspicuously that I wasn't worried even though we had a toddler running around the house. I noticed its effect instantly and within a few days, all the ants were gone, even if I left food bits on the floor on purpose. But that's not the only service that their package came with. In addition, Rhett also sprayed the whole exterior of the house, the weep holes, removed any potential wasp nests, applied Bifen granules on the lawn as well as heavy duty fire ant baits. Sure their price is above average but given the quality and quantity of their service, I say it's well worth it! Lastly, we actually used Stride a second time half a year later when our crushed granite backyard patio got infested with a swarm of seasonal bugs. I communicated with the owner Tyson this time and everything about our communication was professional. He went the length to help me identify the bugs and serviced our backyard patio free of charge. Needless of say, we're 100% satisfied with Stride's service. Neither of the issue has resurfaced since their service and even if they do, we know who to contact. read more

Owning a house on a green belt has consequences! I used Stride for at least a year, then tried four other companies serving Round Rock: J&M Services, Aptive Environmental, Pest Management Corp, and TrulyNolen. There's a lot of variety in this industry: different specialties, business models, and company cultures. Sometimes it's more corporate, sometimes it's two guys and two trucks in business. Stride treated the interior and exterior. Stride's professionalism, communication, punctuality, and reliability were all excellent. I liked in particular that their office staff not only communicated with me via text (convenient), but I also gave them my partner's name and number up-front, asking them to be aware of/involve her. And, whether it was one office staffer's good memory, or a good system of notation, it worked out, because they never eventually "forgot" that she was a factor in our account. It exceeded my expectations that after at least a year, they still remained aware of and included a person with whom they seldom-if-ever actually communicated, because that's what I asked for. When rescheduling happened, it came from me, not them, and they always kept their appointments. Stride is in the "met & exceeded expectations" bracket. read more
