I used Stride for at least a year, then tried four other companies serving Round Rock: J&M Services, Aptive Environmental, Pest Management Corp, and TrulyNolen. There's a lot of variety in this industry: different specialties, business models, and company cultures. Sometimes it's more corporate, sometimes it's two guys and two trucks in business. Stride treated the interior and exterior. Stride's professionalism, communication, punctuality, and reliability were all excellent. I liked in particular that their office staff not only communicated with me via text (convenient), but I also gave them my partner's name and number up-front, asking them to be aware of/involve her. And, whether it was one office staffer's good memory, or a good system of notation, it worked out, because they never eventually "forgot" that she was a factor in our account. It exceeded my expectations that after at least a year, they still remained aware of and included a person with whom they seldom-if-ever actually communicated, because that's what I asked for. When rescheduling happened, it came from me, not them, and they always kept their appointments. Stride is in the "met & exceeded expectations" bracket. read more

This was our first experience having to hire a company to do pest control. We rent and have moved more times than we can count but our landlords have always handled the pest control stuff until now. Heard such great things about this company so we gave them a go! Jason Chatham was our tech and he was awesome!! I had a million questions for him regarding bugs because I'm scared of them even though I let them all outside instead of killing them in our home. This might just be one of those smaller Austin businesses that you know is destined to become a lot bigger. Kind of the same thought I had when I visited a taco truck ages ago with a weird name - Torchy's. I've had other pest control services, but these guys are different. Over the years, I've had all sorts of requests including things like I don't want to be a regular customer, or I see this weird insect can you come check it out, or I hear something in the attic. Each time, they will try their very best to accommodate me. It's amazing! The other and probably more important part is their level of service isn't limited to the person who sells you the service, or the scheduling person, or the person who comes out to do the work. It's weird, it's like every single person has the same level of service, courtesy, punctuality, and a desire to make sure they serve to your satisfaction. For whatever reasons this year a couple of roaches and spiders grew balls and decided to enter my humble abode. I was like "oh Hell no you didn't". I ain't got no time or tolerance for these types of critters. After a quick search on Yelp I found these guys and was impressed with all the five star reviews. I requested a quote and got a quick response. It was less than two hours. I was happy with the pricing so we planned a date and time for the treatment. Stride came out as scheduled and did a very good job both inside and out. Their service includes free treatment if problems continue. I can tell you I have not seen anymore spiders or roaches, but, I have had a new visitor. A scorpion. Yep. I have lived in Austin over twenty years and I've never seen a scorpion until this year. I got up for work one morning and flipped on the kitchen light and there that sucker was right by my foot!! Woke my ass up for sure. I called Stride back and they wasted no time scheduling a re-treatment at no charge. Daniel showed up as scheduled and went over what his plan was for the treatment. Apparently there's special treatment for scorpions. Anyhoot after he finished he pointed out that I have some decorative rocks a bit close to my home and that scorpions like to live there so he gave that area a little special attention. Thanks Daniel. We just moved into our new home, and after researching the different company options, we selected Stride Pest Control. We signed up for their quarterly maintenance program, which included an immediate treatment of the inside and outside of our house, plus a one month revisit to finish off any other critters that hadn't hatched yet. I highly recommend Stride. The tech, Ramone, literally got a ladder and climbed onto my upstairs back patio from the outside and knocked down a nest, which does not need to be part of their practice. They are always great about letting me know when they will be there and they will rearrange their schedule if I want to let them inside on that visit. Also, they will come out anytime you need in addition to the regular quarterly visits for no extra charge so if I ever see a bug and run screaming they'll be out there the next day. These guys are great. Preventative services seem to work well since we haven't had any major problems. They are always willing to come by and help with an issue that pops up (wasps nest, birds nests, ants) and are available within a couple days at most. Like most people, I assumed I could handle the pests around my home myself, so I did my best spraying the mud dauber nests and dumping poison on the fire ants. When I discovered termites in a mulch pile near the house, though, I knew I needed professional help. I spent about a week reading reviews before I contacted Stride, and Tyson and his team have exceeded my expectations from my very first email. They were quick with the estimate as well as the work, and the electronic contracts made it easy to review what was included at my own pace. At first, I resisted the sales pitch for recurring yearly service, but when I discovered new fire ant mounds in the backyard a few months later, I realized how much easier my life would be if I just gave in and let someone else handle them. He found a tech that could come out same day, as I had a newborn and a fairly troublesome ant problem. We ended up having a small miscommunication about the tech's arrival time, but he was really great in contacting me to fix it.
