The Brisket House

My to go place for brisket cravings. Brisket was nice and juicy. The service is always on point. There's usually not a lot of people that dine in you will see people pick up to go. It's a chill spot to go and have some good old Texas barbecue. On our way out, we saw Wayne the owner and the pit master. Such a nice outgoing guy.

I just recently started ordering from this place and let me just say, they definitely deliver. I LOVE their tasty food. I'm currently expecting so I asked for extra pickles and onions and they were so sweet to include way more than expected lol I will definitely be coming here more often. Their brownies and Sweet Tea are very good too

Being from Cali, it's hard to find really good bbq. Stopped here before heading to the airport and was cautiously optimistic based on Yelp reviews. Place was empty, uh oh. Ordered a 3 meat plate of St. Louis ribs, brisket and turkey with collard greens and baked beans. Wow, so delicious! I think the best bbq I've ever had. Especially loved the perfect tenderness of the ribs and not too smoky flavor. Everything was excellent. Hope one day I can return.

Oh wow, the food was delicious! The ribs were moist and tender. Baked beans were seasoned well with a tangy of sweetness of brown sugar. Fried okra was crispy with the right amount of crunchiness. Good meal for Memorial Day dinner for two. And servers were pleasant and efficient.

WELCOME HOME SON! Hey Howdy Hey!!! Are you looking for some great tasting BBQ today??? If so, then you must visit The Brisket House! When my son told me that he was coming home on leave from the Navy and that he wanted some good ol' Texas Down-South, Mouth-Watering, Lip-Smacking, Finger-Licking BBQ, I instantly thought of this place because it is all that and more! This is my second review on this establishment and I must say that I find it quite surprising that this place is not jumping with loads of customers whenever I visit. The BBQ here is full of delicious, savor-able, flavorful, and delectable goodness!!! My family and I truly enjoyed ourselves as we celebrated my son's return home while conversing, laughing, and getting fat-full of their appetizing and tantalizing BBQ. The brisket was tender, moist, and juicy. My son ordered the chopped beef sandwich combo with fries and it was loaded with chopped beef. They were very generous with it. The BBQ chicken, pulled pork, loaded baked potato, BBQ wings, and fried catfish were all equally delicious! This place does not miss a beat. The cornbread was huge and sweet like a piece of cake and the sides were splendid as well. The collard greens are full of flavor, the fried okra tastes like fresh okra and not frozen and is fried to perfection, the Mac and cheese is cheesy deliciousness done just right not watery and loose but a semi-thick cheesy sauce, the BBQ beans were flavorful but a little on the cold side, and the fries are seasoned well, not too salty but just right. So the only complaint from one of my family members is that her beans were served cold instead of hot and my daughter complained that her BBQ chicken was served cold as well. Other than those two small fumbles, everything was perfect! Oh and their BBQ sauce is absolutely delicious! However, I have to take away one star from my previous rating, because it's absolutely imperative that cooked foods are served at the correct temperatures to keep customers from getting sick. Service was great! Our main server was Raya and she was amazing. Her personality was cheerful, friendly, and welcoming! She took care of all of our needs and brought our food out to us with help from some of the other staff members. We were seated in their private party room area which was extremely spacious and clean! I highly recommend this establishment to anyone who is looking for some good 'ol Down-South Texas BBQ! You will not be disappointed! The prices are reasonable and they have a variety of food combinations and selections ranging from their 1-meat, 2-meat, and 3-meat plates, BBQ sandwich combos, kids meals, tailgate packages, desserts, sides, and more! Parking is plentiful and is located in the back of the restaurant.

The dining room is large and very clean. Prices were good. My family and I ordered several different means and sides. These brisket had a good smoke ring and nice lite flavor. Personally I like the sausage the best. My daughter thought the ribs had a really nice flavor and were tender. She also thought the fried okra was some of the best she had eaten. The collard greens were well flavored and not overly salty. Good texture. Definitely would eat here again.

Inside is large and spacious. No one was here hardly when I went. The food was okay. No options for sauce I was aware of. I wasn't a fan of the one that they gave me. The loaded potato looked great but tasted old. Overall it was just okay to me. It was overpriced and pretty basic.

Lunch is served! I was impressed with the customer service, they are on point. You take a seat and they bring you your plate. They do come back periodically to check on you and offer you jalapeños and stuff. The flavor is great! Just like my grandpa's bar-b-q, quality smoked and seasoned. It's worth the price. Unlimited fountain refills. Great big windows and TVs to watch sport games. They are across from North Oaks Forest.

This was the best meal I had my entire weekend! The place had ample parking. There was a solid staff cleaning, and the place was spotless. The front desk staff was helpful and patient with newbies, recommending menu items and accompaniments from the bar nearby. I had the chorizo breakfast taco and the pulled pork hash taco - I was delighted to find out that "hash" meant a delicious hash brown inside the taco. The egg was creamy and perfect inside a taco, the cheese was good, the meat was amazing. I don't think it's possible for me to be happier with roughly $9 in breakfast food. I will make it a point, even if it's not on my way, to visit Pit Room every time I'm in the Houston area going forward. It is a destination restaurant, in my opinion!

My wife and I had had a great experience at the Pit Room previously, so brought the rest of my family here to experience. I found the food to continue to be really good, especially the fatty brisket. Stopped by around 11 am, and there was still parking in the dedicated surface lot next to the building. The smell of bbq wasn't as prevalent as last time. Once walking in, you stand in line to first order your meat...which is immediately sliced in front of you. You then move further along to ask for your sides, including as many slices of plain white bread as you want. My daughter treated us this time, so didn't record prices, but thought it was reasonable. I liked the sliced brisket a lot, along with the side of elote corn and mac n cheese. The free toppings bar had the various pickled vegetables that really cut through the fattiness of the meat. Drinks were all self serve, with a water station and soda fountain. Probably ordered a bit less than expected for 4 people, but was happy that there were no left overs, and left not completely stuffed, since we had a long day ahead of us. By the time we left a little after noon, there was both a wait for tables and parking. We had come at the right time.

Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The pork ribs were the star of the show. So tender, fall off the bone deliciousness. Pair it with the hot sauce that they have on the side and it was chefs kiss! The best ribs I've ever had. The brisket on the other hand was a little dry and I wish it had more flavor, but the sauce made up for it. We also got the Mac n cheese with brisket on top. They really did not skimp out on the brisket. It was very delicious and the Mac n cheese was perfectly creamy and decadent. They also pickles, pickled jalapeño, and onions on the side which really cut the fat from the meat. The coleslaw that we got was okay though. Overall, it was a great experience. All the employees were nice and patient with us since it was our first time here and we had some questions. The vibes were definitely there. Will def stop by here if we ever go to Texas again!!

We came a little earlier and there was already a long line. I heard that if you order in advance, you can skip the line. While you wait, the employees walk around and you can order a drink. Which is nice if you're waiting a while and it gets hot. The employees were all very nice and ambiance is how you would expect a regular bbq restaurant to be. There are plenty of seating outside but limited inside. The seats are all first come first serve, so usually the inside seating runs out first. We ordered 1/2lb ribs, 1/2lb brisket, 1/2lb sausages, and some sides like Mac&cheese, beans, loaded potato, cobbler, etc. total was about $120 after tip. The food was very delicious and worth the drive. Although, I will say that it doesn't taste that much different from my other favorite bbq restaurants. I was still a great experience and very delicious. I highly recommend to try if you're in the area.

I've tried those deemed "the best," including Salt Lick in Driftwood and Killen's. So how did CorkScrew measure up? In addition to the beef rib, we tried the moist brisket, pulled pork, and sausage. We also tried several sides, including those recommended in the Michelin review: potato salad, mac and cheese, smokey beans, and coleslaw, and I picked up a peach cobbler, as well. The beef rib: STELLAR. This was outstanding with its flavorful bark and an impossibly tender texture that truly melts in your mouth, unlike any other beef rib I've ever had. Easily the very best beef rib, without a doubt. The brisket was delicious, as well: tender and flavorful. The sausage was nothing special... on par with sausage elsewhere, as was the pork. As for the sides, I've never been a fan of beans, but since the Michelin review specifically mentioned them, I gave them a try. I'm a fan! I would definitely order these again. Their smokiness is gently tamed by a touch of sweetness. The rest? Very average. The mac and cheese tasted like the stuff I had in my elementary school cafeteria - very un-special. The potato salad was salty and was missing any semblance of potato chunks. The texture was oddly like lumpy mashed potatoes. But the other surprise for me: the cobbler. This was simply and divinely perfect with crisp, sweet buttery crumble. A wonderful way to end a hearty meal. I'm so glad I ordered our food online for pickup. When I arrived at 1pm, the line was wrapped around the building. Pickup was very easy: I texted them when I arrived, and they replied when they were ready for me to go in and retrieve it. But even if there wasn't a line, I would never eat there: the restaurant is too divey for me: very rustic, picnic-like feel both inside and out, and it was uncomfortably warm and humid (again, inside and out.) The staff was very friendly and cheerful. Glad i tried it, and when i get a hankering for a good beef rib, this is definitely where I'll be getting it!

As for the brisket sandwich, I thought it was good in terms of the meat, however, I must say it reminded me of sloppy joes too much. If I had to choose, I prefer getting the brisket sliced over chopped. As for the coleslaw, it was fresh and not too overwhelming with the mayo, which I love. My partner said the brisket sandwich was okay, but we both agreed that the potato salad was fantastic! The potato salad was way better than the one at Pappas Barbecue. The taste of the pulled pork tacos was great, but it was honestly too wet and made the flour tortillas too soggy and there was way too much coleslaw on top. I feel like if Killen's is going to serve pulled pork tacos there needs to be three things done. 1. Serve the tacos with an option of corn tortillas because I feel corn tortillas would've worked better to give a great contrast/pairing with the sweetness of the pulled pork and sauce. 2. Serve the corn/flour tortillas on the side so that they don't get soggy and wet. 3. There are some things that just don't belong on a taco of any kind and that's coleslaw. My partner and I also tasted the banana pudding and to say it was divine is an understatement. What I really like about this pudding was that you could taste real bananas in this pudding and it had been mixed well all together. Our total was $80 after tipping, which is a little pricey for some of the items, but honestly I would definitely come back to Killen's Barbecue when I was in the mood for barbecue.
