I was pleasantly surprised. The brisket is very tasty. I ordered a combination of lean and moist. I would definitely eat here again.

CORKSCREW BBQ is Houston's Michelin star restaurant! It is about 30 minutes drive north of Houston,…read morewhich isn't super bad. They are only open Wednesday-Saturday 11AM-4PM. We came a little earlier and there was already a long line. I heard that if you order in advance, you can skip the line. While you wait, the employees walk around and you can order a drink. Which is nice if you're waiting a while and it gets hot. The employees were all very nice and ambiance is how you would expect a regular bbq restaurant to be. There are plenty of seating outside but limited inside. The seats are all first come first serve, so usually the inside seating runs out first. We ordered 1/2lb ribs, 1/2lb brisket, 1/2lb sausages, and some sides like Mac&cheese, beans, loaded potato, cobbler, etc. total was about $120 after tip. The food was very delicious and worth the drive. Although, I will say that it doesn't taste that much different from my other favorite bbq restaurants. I was still a great experience and very delicious. I highly recommend to try if you're in the area.

Since they were awarded their Michelin star, I've been wanting to try CorkScrew... in particular,…read moretheir beef rib. Beef ribs are my go to bbq protein, and not many places have them. I've tried those deemed "the best," including Salt Lick in Driftwood and Killen's. So how did CorkScrew measure up? In addition to the beef rib, we tried the moist brisket, pulled pork, and sausage. We also tried several sides, including those recommended in the Michelin review: potato salad, mac and cheese, smokey beans, and coleslaw, and I picked up a peach cobbler, as well. The beef rib: STELLAR. This was outstanding with its flavorful bark and an impossibly tender texture that truly melts in your mouth, unlike any other beef rib I've ever had. Easily the very best beef rib, without a doubt. The brisket was delicious, as well: tender and flavorful. The sausage was nothing special... on par with sausage elsewhere, as was the pork. As for the sides, I've never been a fan of beans, but since the Michelin review specifically mentioned them, I gave them a try. I'm a fan! I would definitely order these again. Their smokiness is gently tamed by a touch of sweetness. The rest? Very average. The mac and cheese tasted like the stuff I had in my elementary school cafeteria - very un-special. The potato salad was salty and was missing any semblance of potato chunks. The texture was oddly like lumpy mashed potatoes. But the other surprise for me: the cobbler. This was simply and divinely perfect with crisp, sweet buttery crumble. A wonderful way to end a hearty meal. I'm so glad I ordered our food online for pickup. When I arrived at 1pm, the line was wrapped around the building. Pickup was very easy: I texted them when I arrived, and they replied when they were ready for me to go in and retrieve it. But even if there wasn't a line, I would never eat there: the restaurant is too divey for me: very rustic, picnic-like feel both inside and out, and it was uncomfortably warm and humid (again, inside and out.) The staff was very friendly and cheerful. Glad i tried it, and when i get a hankering for a good beef rib, this is definitely where I'll be getting it!

Great value for time/money I stopped in at 3rd coast BBQ on a Thursday at lunchtime. There was a little parking, but not a massive amount. There was almost no line at all when we got there - I think we waited for about 10 min & waited another 10 for our food. The food itself was really good! They had a large menu & I thought the prices were very reasonable. For 3 meats and 3 sides it was about $50. We got two ribs, brisket (mixed) and the cheddar and jalapeño sausage links. Everything was pretty yummy. I thought the brisket was nice and tender while still having some great flavor. Both the fatty and lean brisket were pretty good. The ribs were super tender and the flavor was smoky and sweet. The sausage links were decent. I will say the food wasn't quote corkscrew level, but was still pretty solid. The ambiance here was really great. I liked the outdoor patio vibe & really homey feel. I liked the tin roof (it rained while we were there & I loved the sound!) & there was plenty of seating. Overall, great experience. Especially with a short wait and decent prices - you get pretty solid BBQ. I'll be back here for sure

Get over here. Some interesting items on the menu...all great…read more Really good brisket, much better than most. I'd prefer a little more pepper on the bark. But tender and flavorful. The pork ribs are EXCELLENT. Meaty, moist, tender and perfectly seasoned. Also tried the boudin, overall iI liked it, i would have preferred a little less cheese but its a winner. Full of brisket and sausage its pretty damn good. The jalapeño sausage is a great, perfect grind size and coarseness. Sides are above average. For me hands down the cajun potato salad is the best I tried today. My dining partner raved about the collard greens and coleslaw. The smoked beans are delicious and the mac and cheese is pretty good too. The staff is cheerful and helpful as well.

Called ahead to learn that they open at noon and at a different location than usual - now at the Firestone Car Care lot on Holzworth, just south of Louetta and across from AMC 10/adjacent to Home Depot. Had read online that lines/wait could be long and that good is liable to run out. Fortunately, since we got an early start, arrived to find just one person ahead of us. Owners were very welcoming/friendly. Their little daughter took our order on a tablet. Ordered a Veggie Potato and 2x Two-Meat Plates (moist brisket and garlic links, each) which came with two sides (ordered BBQ beans, 2 x potato salad, and corn). Tab came to $50, which is not bad these days. Portions were plentiful and the meats were juicy and tender - the BBQ sauce was not overly sweet; had a nice vinegary flavor to it and complimented the meats very well. The Potato was huge and very tasty - a happy medley of Cheddar cheese, Spinach and other veggies, with a yummy twice-baked taste. The BBQ Beans contained ground beef and had a nice kick of heat. Potato Salad and Corn too were yummy! The orders came with two slices each of regular white bread. Jalapeños in the photos are mine. Overall, the reviews are spot-on; one of the better BBQ food places in the area, by far. Run by a friendly family - service is efficient and you return with a nice smoky smell on yourself as you wait to have your order prepared! Love it! Please support a community establishment in these tough times - you won't be disappointed!

Continuing our tour of Texas BBQ on the sacred Texas Monthly Top 50 BBQ list, our latest stop…read morebrought us to Rosemeyer Bar-B-Q in Spring. An equally impressive accolade is their name on the 2025 Michelin Guide. One more cool fact while I'm at it, they do all this working out of a trailer parked on the side of the highway! My BBQ homies and I arrived about an hour early to make sure we get everything we wanted to try as this place does sell out quick. Pro tips, bring your own seats and in our case, an umbrella for those quick spring shower. We came prepared with a cooler of adult beverages, but come to find out, we didn't even need it. This awesome place provides a huge cooler full of free beer while you wait! In the Texas sun, this is much appreciated. Right outside the trailer is where the magic happens in their huge offset and rotisserie smokers. The guys working have no issues if you want to take a closer look. Right before they opened up shop, they came around with a huge tray of brisket to sample. This got me even more excited to try the food. The staff working here were super friendly like at almost every other BBQ spot we have visited. Between everyone in our group, I think we did a pretty good job of getting almost everything on the menu minus the sandwiches or specialty items like loaded mac or brisket quesadillas. Four of us decided to go with their 'Lil Bit of Everythang!' platter which serves 5-7 people. Well it fed four of us very comfortably with leftovers to take home. This platter literally came with almost everything. We got 1/2 a pound each of brisket, pulled pork, pork ribs, pork belly burnt ends, and a chicken half, plus 2 links of sausage, and 1 link of boudin and 4 sides. They give you a number and wait patiently. Your only options to eat are taking your food to go or set up shop on one of their few picnic tables. No sitting until you eat and I noticed people respect that rule and it does allow for everyone to eat comfortably. I really liked everything we tried. The brisket was tender and it had a nice bark on it which had just the right amount of seasoning. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and delicious. The pork belly burnt ends were phenomenal and one of my favorite bites. I don't know what they glazed with, but it delicious. It had a sweet and savory taste to it. Chicken is something I usually skip on, but since it was on the platter I got to try it. It was good. It was nice and juicy and full of flavor. One thing I really judge a place on is their sausage. Rosemeyer does it right! I loved the sausage here. It was packed nice and tight and had a great snap to it. We tried both the mild and jalapeno cheese and both were good. The boudin was also very good. Comparable to some of the stuff I've tried in Louisiana. They have six side offerings of which we got 5. We tried charro beans, dill potato salad, mac & cheese, and two unique items like fideo and mama's green gumbo. I personally loved all their sides. I would get all of them again. The one everyone in our group was iffy about was the green gumbo. It was full of beans which threw everyone off, but I loved the flavor profile of this. I would come back for a tub of that and put it over some rice and call it a meal. To finish off the feast, I had to get the bread pudding. If it's on a menu, odds are I am going to get it. I am so glad we did because the bread pudding here was out of this world good. Probably one of the better bread puddings I have ever had. It came out warm and maintained it's heat. They also added these tasty candied pecans that was a perfect compliment to the custardy bread concoction. A scoop of vanilla ice cream would have been gold on top. Speaking of ice cream, they are supposed to have some amazing homemade ice cream here and the flavors rotate. How many BBQ dudes do you know that do that? We were full, but I will try it next time. Overall, Rosemeyer has moved to my top 5. This place was so so good. It's far from where I live but still very drivable when the craving hits. I will most definitely be back.

And don't even get me started on the homemade ice cream--it's SO good and the perfect way to finish your meal. Everyone there is super friendly and helpful, and they keep you updated on what's available, which I really appreciated. The only thing that could use some work is the mac and cheese. It wasn't bad, just didn't stand out compared to how great everything else was. It's on the side of the road but the area is very clean and has limited parking, but honestly, it's worth it. If you're looking for really good BBQ, I definitely recommend checking this place out!

They put it in a to go box, probably because they didn't think I'd finish it and they were right. Lol The brisket was excellent. The restaurant and restrooms were clean. The only slight complaint I have is that the music was a tinge loud but I was sitting in a corner. However, from the lackluster flavors, poor marbling of the beat, and lack of air conditioning in HOUSTON, I was left feeling quite disappointed. The main star of any Barbecue joint should be the meats that have been meticulously worked on for many hours. When the star of the show are the sides, you have a problem. The baked beans, mac and cheese, collared greens, and Brussels sprouts are delicious, as expected. The brisket was absolutely dried to the point where I couldn't tell if I was wiping my mouth with a napkin or the brisket. Yes, I ordered it fatty. The ribs were terribly marbled. If one bite was a dry portion of the rib, the other bite was an entire glob of fat. Perhaps that's how ribs are sometimes, but my experiences with many other Barbecue joints in Houston were not so much that. Take your hard-earned money and try some of the local mama/papa joints Houston has to offer.
