I am sooo glad that I drove by a few days ago and seen this little hidden gem! The food is amazing! The staff are great! And the food portion sizes are ridiculously enormous! My wife got the brisket and sausage potato and fell in love on the very first bite. I got the shepherds pie and I just came too after awaking from my delicious potato coma. Read the overwhelmingly positive reviews of this food truck BBQ place and decided to pick up lunch on Father's Day. Called ahead to learn that they open at noon and at a different location than usual - now at the Firestone Car Care lot on Holzworth, just south of Louetta and across from AMC 10/adjacent to Home Depot. Had read online that lines/wait could be long and that good is liable to run out. Fortunately, since we got an early start, arrived to find just one person ahead of us. Owners were very welcoming/friendly. Their little daughter took our order on a tablet. Ordered a Veggie Potato and 2x Two-Meat Plates (moist brisket and garlic links, each) which came with two sides (ordered BBQ beans, 2 x potato salad, and corn). Tab came to $50, which is not bad these days. Portions were plentiful and the meats were juicy and tender - the BBQ sauce was not overly sweet; had a nice vinegary flavor to it and complimented the meats very well. The Potato was huge and very tasty - a happy medley of Cheddar cheese, Spinach and other veggies, with a yummy twice-baked taste. The BBQ Beans contained ground beef and had a nice kick of heat. Potato Salad and Corn too were yummy! The orders came with two slices each of regular white bread. Jalapeños in the photos are mine. Overall, the reviews are spot-on; one of the better BBQ food places in the area, by far. Run by a friendly family - service is efficient and you return with a nice smoky smell on yourself as you wait to have your order prepared! Love it! This food truck is appropriately name...the food is Oh' MAZING! While the ribs were the best I have ever tried, the veggie potato is perfectly delicious. The potato is a very generous size and could be split between two people. The ribs are tender and have the perfect smoke taste...no sauce needed! Honey I be looking for this truck to be open every day! The barbecue is The Best I've had in Houston and I've tried many places this is by far the BEST! The first time we just passed it and smelled bbq I turned around and got a loaded potato with sausage & beef and a lb. of brisket.... The second time I went I had the potato with sausage and brisket, the 3 meat plate with chicken, brisket wet (w/a lil fat),and ribs and a lb. of sausage never disappointed, the servings sizes are good, customer service especially from the little lady was absolutely awesome and the consistency of great food and service is GREAT!! Spent $40 on very FATTY brisket and ribs. Corn and beans were good. I tried to call them back and let them know I was dissatisfied, but they never answer the phone. I'm assuming they were closed that Sunday. The amount of fat on the brisket was ridiculous because out of 1 slice of brisket, half was fat. That was all of the slices. This new food truck is currently parking near the corner of Rhodes and 2920. I am a huge fan of 'que so I had to stop and give this a try. For me, barbecue is all about the meat, so this time around I got the four-meat plate to give it all a fair try. Sausage: They serve a firm smoked sausage with excellent flavor, very much enjoyed it. Ribs: A very generous portion of meaty ribs with a great smoke on them. Not falling-off-the-bone tender but ate very well. Chicken: A nice large dark quarter with very tasty skin and a good smoke through the meat. Not super moist but not dry either, a good in between. Brisket: I know, you're saying "what about the king of BBQ meats"? I would say the brisket hit both ends of the spectrum. I had some nice moist cuts with wonderful smoked flavor through the fat. Again not quite fork tender but definitely worth eating. I did get a piece of the bark that was too big and hard to be edible. So the theme of the meat would be great flavor, good but not great texture. I didn't go with classic sides--I had the corn and the broccoli rice casserole. Both were somewhat forgettable, loose corn and kind of middling gooey broccoli rice. I would try the classics next time. Closing on a high note--the sauce was absolutely amazing, some of the best I have ever had. The sauce complements all the meats perfectly, and turns them into wonderful sandwiches for leftovers. I got four generous portions of sauce, one for each meat, and I didn't use it all so I have a nice container of sauce for my home 'que. This could be bottled and sold. All in all very worthwhile and I wish them well. I'll try the potato next time. read more

Driven by this place a lot as I don't live that far away. Kicking myself now for not stopping earlier. First off, I just want to say how nice the family is that runs it. Actually stopped a few weeks ago on a Saturday evening. The owner was apologetic as he explained that they just had to close a little early due to selling out. It was late in the day on a weekend so not all that surprising but he went out of his way to apologize and still go over the menu with me. I promised I'd be back and made good today. He and his wife were just as nice today and it just feels good patronizing businesses where you can tell their heart and soul go into their work. Their pride and character are palpable and I enjoyed my short visit with them. Now for the food.....I ordered the Baconator baked potato. Wow....the size is amazing. I had contemplated buying some BBQ to go along with it, but glad I didn't as the potato itself was way more than I can eat in one sitting. It's rare to find a potato of this size cooked this perfectly all the way through. Every bite was like the first and it came with all the important fixins as well (shredded cheese, chives, sour cream, and bbq sauce). The bbq beef and bacon were all perfectly cooked and tasty as well. I can't wait for dinner so that I can enjoy the rest of this. Highly recommend and I cannot wait to go back and try some more of the menu....though it may be hard not to return to the Baconator. Highly, highly recommend this place! read more

All I can say is WOW! What a surprise. Driving around, no clue what to eat, saw the food truck at the gas station, waited at the red light and thankfully i turned around and tried this hidden gem. The moist brisket sandwich does not skimp on meat or flavor. Had no idea what I was getting myself into when I went with the suggestion of the sausage and brisket potato but boy oh boy am I glad I got it. I think it can serve 4 people by itself. The extra effort of mixing the potato with butter before hiding it under a mountain of chopped brisket and chopped sausage shows that this family is cooking with love. Now for the sauce, I'm not a sauce person, I know it's weird BUT this sauce had me wanting more and ranting about it to my husband. It's tangy, sweet, not too thick or thin, with maybe a bit of cinnamon at the end, not sure but I know it's a hit! read more

Sorry for no pictures but the smell was so good, we dug in before taking pictures - next time I promise. We had brisket loaded potato which was a 5+, bbq sauce is beyond words. Two meat plate, ribs & chicken, ribs were tender and huge but got a 4 just due to a little salty..... but the chicken made up with the deep smoky flavor all the way through 5+. The beans were absolutely great 5+ with the broccoli rice earning 3+/4 just due to a picky broccoli eater that only likes the crowns. Our next struggle is finding out how to keep piping hot to serve without drying anything out (we ate as is today) but ready to try a couple different things next time around. Can't believe it took so long to try this place out when we are literally 5 minutes away. If you are pacrastinating like us - stop it.... The first time we ordered my son picked it up and brought it home. When I open the big to go box I could not believe how big this potato was. It's filled the whole container. Not one of your half containers but one of the big boxes. I'm just sorry I forgot to take a picture of it. We got the chicken with spinach. We made six meals out of it It was so big. And it was the best I've ever eaten. Something the price is too high put when you take six meals out of $15 It's really cheap. The chicken was about inch and a half to 2 in thick on top. I don't think you will be disappointed when you try these potatoes. Or, any of the other food for that matter. A little advice, don't wait late because they do run out fast because it is that good. The only complaints I've ever heard is somebody thought the price was too high. Go figure. You may find cheaper but you can't find better, or as large. read more

It's the veggie potato for me. Nearly 12 hours later and I'm still full and outdone that it was THAT good. The ribs aren't fall off the bone tender but the sauce makes up for it. If you want to get your money's worth, eat here! This is my 2nd time ordering from them and they DO NOT disappoint! Both times I've ordered the 3 meat plate and again when I pick my order up it's not in some weak, flimsy ole styrofoam plate; No it's literally has to be put in an aluminum pan because they hook it up when it comes to the serving size! That's my plate there for only $22 ($23 after tax) and it comes with 2 slices of white bread and 2 sides! The amount of food they give is way more than any other brick and mortar bbq restaurant hands down. My wife and I will get 2 meals each off this. $5.50 a meal is pretty damn good. Not to mention the brisket, ribs, and sausage are great. They even gave me a piece of pork and it was good and juicy too. He said he was out of moist brisket - her only had some lean.. could've fooled me it was moist and good too! Oh and they don't hold back on hooking you up on some burnt ends either. I had some big pieces from both trips. My wife loves their sausage and she can be picky when it comes to that.
