The BBQ is ok for the area. You're not going to get the rich peppery bark you see in Texas BBQ Monthly Magazine. They're not not out here trying to win awards. But if you need a BBQ plate before you get back to work, they sure come through. I did need BBQ sauce to bring out the flavor of the meats. Brisket - moist and tender, but on the bland side. Smoked chicken - moist and tender, good smoke flavor, but bland. Mashed potato - cafeteria style. Mac n cheese - I wouldnt know. They forgot to put it in. Banana pudding - pretty basic but palatable. Peach cobbler - decent, much better than the banana pudding, especially when it was warm. Lemon pepper Wings - pretty standard. Boiled shrimp - probably the best thing I ate. I told them I wanted very spicy and the guy told the back to make the spice level ass burning lol. Wasn't ass burning, but the one thing well seasoned. This was such a nice find for my mom and I. She is always craving BBQ. She ordered a brisket plate with fried pickles and fries. I ordered some spicy garlic wings. This was such a good combo for us and we didn't feel guilty since we shared it! The service was really good. There was a really sweet young man at the counter during lunch. We got our food within about 10-15 minutes. The place is clean and has decent turn out for lunch. The brisket was sooooo good! Wow, we really enjoyed it! Passed this place several times and stopped by finally based on a recommendation from a neighbor. We ordered a chicken baked potato, a pulled pork baked potato, and a rib plate. The food took a while to come out and wasn't served altogether. The ribs were very chewy, full of fat, and lacked seasoning. The pulled pork potato lacked seasoning altogether and had a sprinkle of bacon (which was an extra charge). The chicken had nice flavor but was not deboned with care as we had to pull out bones and fat from the meat. Giving two stars for the pricing but you get what you pay for. I pass RackShack BBQ every day on the way home from work and never bothered to turn in until last week for lunch. I'm glad I did because my "Chow Down" baked potato was great! I had it with Pulled Pork and the meat was juicy and the potato was big and filling. Price may be a concern for whoever's reading this review. I've been to BBQ places that offer a one-meat baked potato for less than Rackshack. But I've also eaten places that have charged me more! I guess that depends on you. Ok folks let me first say I'm not a 'die hard' fan of BBQ (I know and Houston is filled with BBQ locations). My coworkers has been raving about this place and I finally decided to give it a try Thursday for lunch. It's a neighborhood-feel of an eatery, there was plenty of seating and the menu is posted on a board as you walk in. I had looked at the menu prior to arriving, so I was definitely ordering the chopped beef baked potato, which I ordered, but then noticed they had wings (variety of flavors), and fried okra so I had to try these, and let me tell you how happy I was that I did so! The baked potato was huge, covered in mounds of chopped beef that it literally looked like a pile of chopped beef. I poured their bbq sauce on the potato and it tasted amazingly good! The beef was moist, potato was cooked perfectly and they did not skimp on the meat, cheese, butter or sour cream! I left off the chives as I'm not a fan. I only ate maybe 4 fork full before I proceeded to the fried okra, and a little insight about me, I'm a snoot about my fried okra. The fried okra here had to be the best I've ever had! The batter was coated just right, seasoned with salt and pepper, simple yet so good!! I couldn't stop popping them in my mouth but forced myself to because I wanted to try the mango habanero wings. Heat wise, it could've been spicier, but they were crispy and still very good. The staff that took our orders at the counter was very nice and they brought the food to our table. I rarely write negative reviews but I have to this time. Some coworkers and I went to Rackshack BBQ & Wings on 7/9/2019. The service was fine. We all got plates of bbq. I had the two meat plate which consisted of brisket, ribs, mac and cheese, and okra. The ribs were good. Not juicy but they were fall off the bone tender. My brisket was dry. Like really dry. Sauce helped a little but the sandwich I made was pretty meh. It was stale white bread, dry brisket, and okay sauce. The okra was incredible. Like really good. The mac and cheese was fine. What ruined it for me was that 5 minutes after eating my first rib I saw a roach scurry across the bench I was sitting on. I prayed for it to leave but it didn't. It got closer and closer. I tried to ignore it even more. A coworker then mentioned I had better do something so I took a napkin and killed it. It wasn't a tree roach with wings we all know and love in Houston. It was a smaller kind and it didn't even seem to fear humans. I am going to sound like a baby but it was hard for me to enjoy my food after that. We live in Houston, and I know how it is... Houston has roaches. I even read the reviews about small roaches now being at this restaurant and I chose to ignore them. I wish I had not. read more

I went to this restaurant Aug. 6. for lunch. Simply trying to enjoy my lunch and was harassed by by cashier AND THE OWNER. The owner is EXTREMELY DISRESPECTFUL, RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL to his customers. After paying for all my family and I food and drinks. They accused us of stealing a fountain drink. In which I DID NOT! They had no sense of understanding, comprehension or reasoning. We asked for a cup of ice for the bottled drink (Sprite) that we purchased because the drink was not cold enough. The place was hot, not pleasant and all around RIDICULOUS!!! After all was said, The owner stated he didn't care how much money I just spent at his restaurant. i guess he felt the right to talk to me like I was stupid. Then went hid in the back and never came back out after he talked all his trash!!! The little cashier had to get all the smoke but technically he was the one who started all the crap. 3 strikes...your OUT. We've been going here for a long time. They even catered my 40th birthday party last year. We stopped ordering the wings on Friday because they never come out right. When we decided to give them another chance my husband ordered wings and they weren't cooked all the way...he ended up food poisoned. So I talked him into giving them 1 more try. I ordered the wing about 8:20 pm. I get there at 8:35 to the drive thru, after I paid the gentleman asked me to pull up to the front and he would bring it out. I waited for 25 mins. Now they are turning the lights off in the restaurant. I called to make sure they didn't forget my order. Only reason I saw someone is because they messed up someone's order and he was at the door waiting. When they brought his stuff, I asked if they had my order. He went in to check and came back out and read my order back to me. I confirmed and he apologized and said he would be back with it. I reminded him that I didn't want any old chicken . I asked for fresh and Xtra crispy. I waited another 15-20 mins while they sat and ate their food. When my food came out it STILL WASN'T RIGHT. It was fresh but everything else was all wrong. I had all drums, half cooked and not crispy at all. Since they were closed, I meant to make it back up there the next day to show them exactly what I was served. Unfortunately I had to go to work that night. All that to say I stay about 3 mins from this place but I will NOT be back. Through all of the garlic hot (we get garlic hot PARMESAN), the orders of cerely and carrots (we get NOTHING), and the xtra crispy (wings are half done)you guys just lost weekly customers. read more

Hmmm what can I say about this place. Well I sent my daughter to pickup a order of crawfish. When she came back I open the package which didn't look like 2 pounds but more like 1. They seemed to be filled with some kind of oil coating. The taste was not good at it just tasted like they were boiled in lemon juice and vinegar. NO favor at all. I would not recommend this place for crawfish at all.. Stick to bbq and wings which I have not tasted and behind this I will not even waste the time to explore.
