Nice, quiet little place (at least for breakfast/brunch hours). We ordered the caprese omelette with a side of refried beans and the smoked salmon Benedict. Both were good meals, nothing special but cooked well and came out hot. The refried beans tasted fresh and were definitely solid! Prices weren't too high for the food as well. I really loved the attentive service and comfy/homey environment inside. We will have to come again!

Great food, friendly staff, clean dining room, and decent pricing. Large portions are awesome!

The food was great and so was the service Mireya was our server and she was very sweet from the second we walked in the door. We got the Charcuterie board to share and it was perfect for two people everything on there was perfect. Was looking for something new and local to Oceanside and here it is!

Was in the area and never been to the breakfast Mug. I definitely will be back. I ordered the eggs Benedict with cooked spinach instead of the English muffin. Met the owner and was very cool. Come check them out!

First time here , figured we would try it since we were in the area . Walked in and it's fairly a basic setup . Nothing interesting about the dinning area , it did appear clean and tidy . The good : Service was decent , the server was friendly but looked like there was only one server on hand so drinks took a little bit to get . Now on to the bad : Drinks came out , I suggest you don't order the Chai brûlée .. it looked much better than it tastes and I usually love Chai drinks . The other drink the caramel one was better but no wow factor there either. Received hash browns , eggs, bacon and Nutella French toast . The only thing hot was the eggs. The Nutella French toast did not taste fresh . It was more like the frozen French toast you buy at the store , and for the amount it costs, I could do better at home . The ugly : my hash browns had a hair in them, and not just on top, like really meshed into them . I didn't even take a bite , at this point after one bite of egg and one bite of French toast and hairy hash browns we were ready to leave . The server was the best part of this restaurant, he apologized and only charged us for our drinks . Super nice , yes I left him a tip for his service , definitely not for the food . Tip to our server : your a good server , you should change jobs where the taste of food reflects your efforts . We will not be back and I do not recommend this place to eat . It's one thing for pictures and food to look yummy , it's super disappointing when the food that looks yummy is actually quite not .

Staff are personable. Good selection on local draft beers…read more Their wings are actually phenomenal - great size and seasoning the price is unbeatable on their specials Mondays and Thursdays I believe. Unfortunately the rest of the food is extremely steeply priced. Nothing wrong with the food per say but the $21 burger is small and lacking for the price. Same thing with their $15 hot dog. Good. Just small and overpriced. I'd suggest they have food specials every day to keep steady customers. I.E maybe a $10 burger special Wednesdays, 3 tacos for $10 Tuesday's etc. Thursday nights are really fun with line dancing and country Emma. The karaoke and trivia nights during the week skew older and are kind of a "unique" vibe at times. Have yet to come during the weekend but will soon I'm sure

We eventually made it here after failed attempts elsewhere to find a place offering the NFL Ticket…read more Junkyard does have it. The place is very well decorated/interior designed. It's really cool. And cozy. We sat at a high-top table away from the bar. We usually sit at bars, but that's ok. Got there late. TV's are everywhere. Not a problem finding a tv with our game on it. Our server was perfection. I think her name was Kelly but can't swear to it. Very attentive and very nice. Good looking, woman, too. The food was good. I ordered the wings. I don't like wing drumettes, especially the really large ones. I prefer the wing tips. Wing drumettes are supposed to be small. The whole idea is that you eat many of them like you would a snack or appetizer, not one or two really big ones where you get full, like a KFC wing. But the wing tips were normal sized. And they were flavored well and cooked properly. We also ordered the nachos. While I appreciate the thought, no thanks. Sports bar nachos should be sports-ish. I mean, melted cheddar or nacho cheese smothering yellow corn chips and chili or ground beef, and beans and jalapenos. The nachos at Junkyard are boutique, like something women would eat at The Henry or Viggilucci's. The Junkyard has a sort of rough and tough motif, you know, steampunk/biker/mechanic/car enthusiast. The nachos should reflect that theme. Other than that, we will definitely be back. OH!..one more nuance. The back corner tv's are blocked by this huge "Junkyard" sign over the pool table. Hope those tv's weren't the expensive ones. Maybe raise or lower that sign. My view in photo.

I promise you it's really that good, please try both. Our cocktails were PERFECTLY made. The staff was on it, I mean you can tell they work as a team. Different ppl checking on us (but not in an overbearing way) clearing plates, making sure the food was to our satisfaction. Always filling waters. Very friendly. I haven't had this good of a restaurant experience in years. Idk if we just got lucky or this is how it always is here since today was our first visit, but we will definitely be back and hopefully capture this magic again lol Ambiance was ok, the other patrons were a little loud but I expect that on a Sunday late at night. We came here Labor Day weekend to celebrate my brother's birthday…read more My dad had called ahead to reserve a table since it was 6 adults and 2 toddlers. We were seated right away. We started with some appetizers - my favorite was the crispy brussel sprouts and cauliflower. Everything was perfectly roasted and there was a great kick with the habanero jam feta. The fly basket was pretty good, but keep in mind that the portion size is small - 3 of each of the hush puppies, fried shrimp, and fried green tomatoes. My husband ordered one of the specials which was a short rib pot pie - one of our favorite dishes of the night. The short rib was so tender and the dish was rich but in the perfect way. I ordered the tri tip sando. It was loaded up with meat and grilled peppers and onions. I upgraded my fries to truffle fries and those were really flavorful! My mom ordered the cioppino. She was a little disappointed by how many mussels there were in the dish - she had been hoping for more fish and shrimp. She said the flavor was good though. For dessert, we did opt to try the beignets. Honestly I could have done without them. They weren't as light and fluffy as they could've been. Overall, it was a good experience with great accommodations for our toddlers and great service.

Yard House is a solid option when you're looking for a place with something for everyone,…read moreespecially if you're meeting up with a larger group or want somewhere to watch a game. That said, our experience at this location has been a bit more hit-or-miss than at the Yard House in Costa Mesa, where we used to go several times a month. The food is generally good, but not consistently great. The Cobb salad with added protein is a great choice if you want a large, filling salad, and the portions overall are decent for the price. They're also very accommodating with dietary modifications and will make many substitutions without charging extra, which is a big plus. Unfortunately, the steaks have been disappointing for the price point. A $35+ steak should be properly seasoned, and that hasn't always been our experience. Side dishes can also be hit-or-miss, particularly the vegetables, which sometimes arrive undercooked or underseasoned. Happy hour is one of the biggest reasons to visit. The daytime happy hour, with half-off many appetizers, is hard to beat and offers some excellent value. The beer selection is also consistently good. Unfortunately, the cocktails are another story. In our experience, the mixed drinks are incredibly weak, the shots are tiny, and the wine pours are underwhelming for the price. We've had much better experiences with wine value at the Irvine and Costa Mesa locations. If you're coming for drinks, I'd stick with beer. Lots of options on tap. As for the atmosphere, it's a good place to catch a game, but expect some noise depending on the time of day and what's playing. The spacious booths are great for groups, and the menu has enough variety that most people should find something they like. The outdoor patio is also a nice option, and I believe it may be dog-friendly. A few practical tips: parking at the mall can be a real headache, and the restaurant is usually busy, so wait times vary. Fortunately, you can join the waitlist ahead of time, which can help make the experience a little easier. Overall, Yard House Carlsbad is a good, dependable choice, but it hasn't impressed us as much as other locations. Between the generous portions, accommodating staff, variety of menu options, and excellent daytime happy hour, there's plenty to like, though. Just manage your expectations when it comes to the steaks, sides, and cocktails, and you'll probably have a good experience.

The calamari pieces seemed a little small, and a few portions felt light, but the poke nachos were better than usual. The chicken tortilla soup was right on point even for our picky 13-year-old. My wife had tacos, and I had mine with rice and beans. The rice tasted stale, which may have been because it was late in the evening, but the Korean chicken taco was my favorite. Our 8-year-old enjoyed the pre-cut sirloin steak with fruit. The truffle fries were a standout, packed with flavor and probably the most enjoyable dish at the table. For drinks, the pumpkin-spiced ale was the winner. My wife enjoyed two watermelon margaritas, each served with one large ice cube. The Lions and Panthers game on TV brought in a small crowd, so service was a bit slower, but the staff stayed attentive and on point. We've been here a dozen times, and tonight's food and service were excellent. A great family dinner and a standard worth coming back for.

The service has usually been good, which makes today's experience especially disappointing. I came in with a party of 10, and from the moment we arrived, our waitress was incredibly rude and had an attitude toward every single one of us for no apparent reason. Throughout the entire meal, her behavior continued. At one point, I politely asked for something to accompany my meal, and she told her manager that I had yelled at her. I never raised my voice. After I questioned a few items on my bill, she became even more rude toward both me and my party. What disappointed me just as much was the manager's response. Rather than approaching us to hear our concerns or understand our side of the situation, she immediately began defending the waitress and explaining how upset the waitress was because of how we had supposedly treated her. The manager also justified the waitress's behavior by explaining that she was stretched thin due to low staffing, as if being understaffed were a reasonable excuse for treating paying customers disrespectfully. Not once did she ask us about our experience or give us an opportunity to explain what had happened. After this experience, I will not be returning or recommending this establishment to others. There are plenty of places to spend your money where you can expect to be treated with basic courtesy and respect.
