The spice level is on a more intense scale. I love food that sears the tongue, and I gotta say, between hot and x-hot, hot is perfectly comfortable and tasty enough for me. The restaurant itself is nothing special. It's in a shopping strip and has several big screen tv's preset to ESPN and other relevant games to watch. Thirsty Thursday advertisements are all over the walls ($3 beers). There is a bar in an awkward part of the restaurant that has only ever had up to 3 people at a time from what I've seen. I was craving for some crawfish and I was pleasantly surprised that it was close to my house! It is one of those hidden gem places and also one of the best kept secrets when looking for a place to have crawfish. (Now that I'm writing this review, it'll probably won't be a secret anymore). I ordered Cajun fries to start, and got 3 lbs of crawfish to share along with some clams and a few corn cobs. Every bite was delicious and it fit my ideal of a great crawfish. I just didn't think that with all that sauce, it would be a pretty messy feast. Next time, I'm gonna have to order the crawfish with the potatoes and maybe add a few king crab legs or lobsters. After trying out all the crawfish joints in the DFW area, we came across this little joint. Upon arrival, the place was decently packed, but did not correlate to the wait time. After being seated we ordered a few pounds of crawfish and some popcorn shrimp. The food took a little longer to come out, but that's understandable. The crawfish was alright, not the best I've had. Same goes for the popcorn shrimp. Overall, the prices were a little higher than many other places. The wait is the worst part. After finishing our meal, we had to wait and hunt down our waitress. I've frequented several seafood feast extravaganza joints in the DFW area and Boiling Pots delivers the most flavorful, juicy and down-right tasty seafood options around. I find myself day-dreaming about the snow crab legs and clams almost weekly. I usually get mine "HOT" but have, at times, ordered "Extra HOT" - which i believe they put ghost pepper in. The latter tends to be a little too hot and the former just not quite enough kick for me personally, but regardless, is fantastic in flavor and definitely worth ordering and devouring. I have ended up liking the food here so much that I have had to scale back my trips. For one, I surely don't want to kill a good thing and two, it can be on the pricey side. That's why now I use Boiling Pots as a personally reward for a hard week worth of work and if I can make it on a Saturday afternoon, then by all means, I'm most likely heading over there. While I had an unpleasant experience with one particular server that was for some odd reason very opinionated, the service has always been a casual delight and the servers will get you what you need and are very attentive upon your arrival. They also know when to stay back and let you enjoy your "bag-o-awesomeness" and watch the games on one of the many TVs they have on the walls. The ambiance is very comfortable and they even have a private room with its own TV if you wish to host any parties or get-togethers. As for suggestions on what to order... I have found the following to be the all-stars of their menu: Snow Crab Combo Clams Cajun Fries Bucket o' Beer - Shiner (order during Happy Hour, of course!) One of the better "seafood boil" places in the dfw area. I've come several times over the past few years. The price is on point with the type of food you are getting as well (roughly 20 dollars a person). They have buckets of beer (no liquor or bar). There is a private room in the back for parties, etc. The boil mix they cook things in is fantastic. Wear your "eating clothes" as this place is a tad messy. I tend to always slob something on myself even with a bib. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is exceptionally casual. What keeps this places from being a five star is the staff. It's hit or miss whether you get a competent server. Their hiring policy seems to be stoned teenagers. I came once every two weeks (estimate) for about 3 months, and saw a different group each time. Personal recommendations would be the shrimp and snow crab. They always come out fantastic. Crawfish season has arrived! I have been to this place before awhile back and it was just as delicious as I remembered. The crawfish was perfectly cooked and the seasoning was finger licking good. Right now the crawfish are perfect size, not too big not too small. As far as the seasoning goes, I'm a spicy food addict so I get the extra hot which is probably way to spicy for the average human but it was just perfect to me. I would suggest the medium or hot seasoning for people who aren't used to eating fire like I am. I also got some snow crab which came with a lot more than I anticipated. Other than the yummy food the service was just as great, we had Zack and he was super attentive and sweet. First of all, the service is really terrible here. We came at 2 pm on a weekday; there was plenty of open tables since it was passed lunch time, but the server asked us to wait at the door(?) We waited 10 mins without knowing why; then, after we got seated (had to ask the person at the counter), no one came to the table until another 10 mins later. Our waitress was nice, but was a little bit forgetful. We'd asked her for an extra pair of gloves, but we never got them (had to ask another waiter for them later). Other than that, she was pretty decent. The food, however, wasn't as decent. While it wasn't gut wrenching, it could've been a lot better, specifically the sauce, which tasted very bitter.
