The good: I absolutely love the food here. There is so much flavor. The food always comes out hot and fresh and prepared well. You will not be disappointed in the food. The menu is simple so I have been able to try almost everything without any regrets. The restaurant is clean and and the decor is fun. They offer standard fountain drinks and bottled beers as well. The bad: Don't let the displayed restaurant hours fool you. Despite stating that they close at 8:30 they will NOT seat you after 7:30. Togo orders are accepted until 7:55. The frustrating part is that most people have to find these details out the hard way, which is after they have made the journey to the restaurant. I just wish their restaurant hours were clearer. Also, some of staff members are not as courteous as others. Conclusion: Definitely try it out. Just be mindful of the hours I mentioned. This place has fell off! First of all they've changed names soo many times! When it was boiling POT that's when it was at its best. We went this past Sunday and first off everything was sooo over priced! Then they brought the seafood out and it tasted TERRIBLE! I'm from Louisiana so I know what it's suppose to taste like and it was terrible! They just dump a whole bunch of seasoning and sauce all over the food but the inside taste like garbage. I was in the area, actually next door at the beauty supply store and decided to stop in. I was also craving some good ole Southern/Cajun food. I walked in shortly after peak lunch hours but the restaurant wasn't crowded. There were a handful of people dining in. I perused the menu and decided on gumbo and garlic parmesan chicken wings. I was pretty excited to try this food. It took about a 15-20 minutes wait before the food was ready. I had ordered to go. Once I got to the car and opened my wings to see how they looked, I was highly disappointed. The wings seemed freezer burned and not appetizing at all. They were dry and sprinkled with grated parmesan cheese. Ugh!! I was expecting a nice glaze of garlic parmesan sauce. I decided to try one and it tasted just like it looked. So disappointing!! I waited until I got home to look at the gumbo. That was even worse!! The consistency of the gumbo roux was like the consistency of etoufee. It was thick and flour-y. No ma'am!! No sir!! This was not gumbo!! I tried eating it but I could eat about two spoonfuls and was done!! My dog was stalking me while I tried to enjoy this meal so I gave him a carrot that was in the box with the wings. Even he didn't eat the dang carrot. Wth?! I guess he didn't approve. This place gets 1 stars, and that's being generous--for both the food and the service. I visited with my kids, and as someone from New Orleans, I honestly wasn't expecting much. Still, after speaking with the owner (or who I assume was the owner) and hearing her claim she was from New Orleans and "understood" what we'd expect, I decided to stay for my son, who loves crawfish. Right away, I could tell she wasn't from New Orleans--if you know, you know. The streets and places she mentioned? No authentic New Orleanian would reference those tourist traps. Fast forward to the crawfish. It was nothing like New Orleans crawfish--absolutely horrible. I have no idea what sauce they used, but it was completely wrong. My face said it all. She later came to the table and admitted she's not actually from New Orleans, throwing out some excuse about how hard it is to find crawfish here. At this point, I was beyond frustrated. Why not just be honest from the start instead of lying to make a sale? The guy at the front asked how the food was, and I told him straight up: it was horrible. He admitted the crawfish were frozen (which I had already figured). The only decent thing was the catfish, which I'd give a solid 7/10, but even that wasn't enough to save the experience. The fact that she knowingly lied about being from New Orleans while serving subpar food speaks volumes about this place. If you're from Louisiana and know what real crawfish should taste like, do yourself a favor and avoid this spot at all costs. read more

This place is now called Cajun Boil Spot. I was greeted and attended to immediately when I walked in. This place is a very chill environment for a hangout and have a few drinks. The workers were very nice. Overall the food was not the best. I ordered the jalapeño poppers and it had a very plain taste to it and it was filled with LOTS of cream cheese. I ordered the shrimp broil bag and it was absolutely tasteless with no hence of flavor to it whatsoever. I've had better seafood boil elsewhere. Personally I wouldn't recommend this place for a boil, possibly get the fried food but what I had wasn't filling nor satisfying. I don't know how I have never reviewed this place... it's THE BEST SEAFOOD... EVER!! Yes, it is more on the expensive side, but the food is worth every Penny! I got the king crab and crawfish bag. Long story short, if you are ordering a pick up, check your order before you leave. They will trick you and give you a wrong order or they will miss an item and they won't refund it. Basically will scam you. If u have time, here is the story :) I placed an order for a pick up on 7/18/2020 at 6:41 pm . In which, we specifically instructed them not to have any sausage ( or pork) in any part of our order as we don't eat pork. We picked it up around 7:30 pm as we live about 40 min away. Took it back all the way home to open it and found out that we are missing 3 meals/baskets. And one of the meals has sausage in it. I called them back right away around 8:30 pm and explained to them what happen. Instead of admitting their mistake they tried everything they can to get out of it. 1-They started by saying they will check the camera to make sure I didn't take it. Although I was shocked from this request ( basically calling me a lair indirectly), I said ok go ahead and do it. Gave them my contact number and waited a little but no one called me back . 2-I called back around 9:00pm. they are like, all what we can is to give u a 10% discount in your next order. I insisted on a refund. Then they asked me to get the item back to give me the refund. I'm like that's a missing part how will I get it back . I can only get back the pork containing item. 3-Then they asked to see for the receipt in person to do the refund in cash ( I paid with CC). I told them I live 40 min away and to come back is an inconvenient. That should be done remotely as I paid with CC over the phone so the refund should be the same way. They had the receipt number and the order number . Again they tried to do all what they can not to give the refund and at that point it wasn't a money issue. It was someone trying to take advantage of me and I wasn't going to allow this. So I told them I will come tomorrow with the receipt and with the pork containing item to get the refund. 4- When I went the next day, they spook to the owner and he instructed them not to give a refund because I didn't call within 3 hours within placing the order. I showed them the time stamp on the receipt and she checked her caller ID and found out that I called within an hour. Then she told me that the owner told her not to issue a refund and she can't do anything. I'm not sure if the business is going down or struggle for money but that's not an excuse. We all are trying to help the business/ restaurants that we used to love during this difficult time. That's why we kept ordering pick up orders. But this isn't an excuse to scam people and refuse to refund them knowing that you made a mistake. That's basically stealing . Getting people money and don't provide the items or the services that you promised is stealing. For sure I will fight it with Better Business Bureau and even civil court. I won't let them go with it but just wanted everyone to be carful :) read more

Great spot for crawfish. I ordered to go and enjoyed huge crawfish, swimming in a garlicky, spicy sauce with delicious andouille sausage. While it was really heavy on the garlic (I don't usually do well with garlic), it was probably the best tasting crawfish I've ever had. My son had chicken tender with fries and they were good, too. They even poked a bunch of holes in the to-go container so the fries were still crispy when we got home!!! A definite keeper! read more

I give this place a 3 stars not because I thought it was horrible or something, I just felt that I had better at other places is all. This place was really packed when I came one evening but the wait wasnt too long to get a table. I am not sure if they were understaffed for the amount of people in the resturant but for sure it did take a while to get drinks, refills, food, and order too. The server was nice and friendly and very helpful though whenever she could come around to help us. We ordered a bunch of food and ended up getting a medium spice level because we had kids at our table that could not handel spicy. It was definitely not spicy at all but spicy for the kids which was funny. I think it would havw tasted better if I ordered it pretty spicy. The shrimp was pretty good and everything was easy to peel and eat. The crawfish was small even though it is supposed to be crawfish season. Over all it is not a bad place to go to but I felt that I had better. My favorites here though had to be the fried food. We heard so much about this place when my dad came back from Dallas so we had to go. The atmosphere is super casual and a little dive-y but pretty clean. We had a few pounds of the seafood boil and a bag of crawfish as well. Started with hush puppies as appetizers and they were a tad sweet but they were also gone from the table in seconds. The fries were good as well. Not everyone could handle spice at our table so we ordered mild and hot. And hot was clearly the way to go. It was packed with flavor and the snow crab was super fresh that day. I was shocked bc Dallas is inland and I've lived near the ocean my entire life so I'm familiar with how difficult it is to get quality seafood even when you're closer to the sea. My brother, who does not eat seafood, ordered buffalo wings & said they were pretty good. The server that we had was impressive. First things first i would give this place a 5 stars, because the food is amazing the seasoning is incomparable to anywhere else that servers cajun seafood in the dallas metroplex but the service is below sub par. On my occasions i have drove over to this establishment before closing, and they will say that they're closed. Online it says that they close at 9pm I have been there at 7pm before and they've told me that they're closed is the rudest way possible. This is not a one time thing this has happened many times over the years. The food is amazing so i can over look the early closing and rude service for amazing food. This is a tough one. The fried catfish was perfect but this place is called The BOILING Spot. The shrimp bag was awful; Over cooked in tomato sauce. The gumbo was heavy on the corn starch but tasty. The service was atrocious! Waitress with attitude seats us and it goes downhill from there. Grandkid orders a Shirley Temple, waitress snaps, "We don't have that." Okay, but was the surliness necessary? Everyone orders and literally 2 minutes later my daughter wants to change her order from a shrimp bag to a shrimp and snow crab bag, but too late. The waitress has the bag in her hand. It arrived before the drinks or appetizer. I am not exaggerating the 2 minutes. My wine was forgotten but did come with a reminder and a straw. The fried pickles were crazy breaded, much too much breading. But, the chicken wings were a hit. During my most recent visit, they sat us at a table with floors un-swept and the napkins were dirty from the previous customers who sat there. The crab legs did not taste as fresh, the corn & potatoes are over cooked and completely soaked in the sauce the last time I was here so I asked for my potatoes and corn to be cooked separate. It's been a while since I've been here. Last time I was here they had a different name. The atmosphere has definitely changed. More lively and upbeat but the food has not. Still very good and worth the drive! But the service!! Our waiter was Hampton and he was by far the best waiter I have ever had anywhere. Very attentive (the restaurant was extremely crowded) and extremely respectful. An absolute pleasure. Not sure if this is the same boiling pot chains as the one that closed down in Dallas, but this place just opened this week. This is a Korean-owned seafood restaurant that is very similar to boiling crab in term of food and ambiance. We started off with the Cajun fries. It was really crispy just how I like it, but it has a little bit too much cayenne pepper for my liking and not spicy. My niece and nephew loved it though. They went to town with it. They didn't have any crawfish at the time, so I got the clams in chef's original flavor with minced garlic and butter. It was $10/lb. which is comparable to other seafood places. The clams were the same quality as BC so that's good. The flavor was not as good as BC though. It was pretty salty. Without saying anything to them, the owner brought out a bag with 3 potatoes. He said the clams were made too salty, so I should try the new sauce with potatoes. I don't like potatoes, but thanks for realizing it. The sauce was indeed on point. It was really good, I wished he made the clams correctly. He should just give me a new batch of clam in the first place. This place is located across from Hmart, same corner as Fiesta. They are very new and have some work to sort out. I really liked the sauce when it was made properly. I see a lot of potential. Totally will come back for crawfish and give an update. Good luck BP!!. I have eaten here once inside, without any issues, but I prefer to get down and dirty with my shrimp at home in private:) I love spice. I love heat. I love this place. As an avid fan of the Boiling Crab in Dallas, I no longer live near there and I need my fix. Thus, I first found The Boiling Pot through restaurant.com. It's exactly the same. If you like super spicy, go spicy. I wouldn't go extra spicy right off; start at medium (my preference; it's spicy like burn your lips a little, but not "snot dripping" spicy; that'd be "spicy" level here) and work your way up. Just a suggestion. I've seen many a person crying and snotty because of going too high here. I stick with shrimp here. The crawfish are good, so are the crab legs, but my personal favorite are the head on shrimp. They are good sized, nice and plump like me, and just cooked perfectly. The sauce is thick and garlic laden; if any character from Twilight shows up, they're dead. So if you don't like garlic, don't come here. It's amazingly perfect in the spicy sauce. It's a messy meal, yes, but worth it. I wouldn't recommend this as a first date place unless you are cool with them seeing you in this state, but otherwise...get in here and eat! read more

It only took one visit..but Im hooked!! That spicy sauce that delightfully drenched our shrimp and king crab legs was soooo divine. The hush puppies and fried shrimp were just as delicious, especially when dipped in that spicy sauce. We took our food order to go, so be prepared..you'll need plenty of plastic bags, brown paper, and gloves..and a bib. Enjoy!! Btw..the customer service was friendly and efficient, but beware, we placed our order 30-45mins in advance. I am very glad to be an avid yelper because I ordered the snow crab legs as advised and they were magnificent!!! We had to order a second round! The sweet juicy crab meat with the spicy sauce, perfection! I must say though, the crawfish when we went (mid Feb) were not that great. They were extremely small and with very little tail meat. I would go back and try again during peak season. Their service during lunch was also a bit slow since they only had two people working, but our waitress was friendly despite the fact we ran out of beer a few times... My suggestion to make this place better would to be BYOB instead of providing such a limited selection of beers (and pre-bottled cocktails, bleh!)
