Foo foo dish
Nicole W.

I saw an IG post which enticed us to come because my daughter wanted to try foo foo. We arrived about bit after 7pm and were seated immediately. There were a few other tables of people and others started coming in shortly thereafter. Inside is decorated nicely - cool, chill atmosphere. We were given menus and looked them over to decide what we wanted. There was one server at the time we were seated, but two more started afterwards when more people arrived. We got the beef patty, chicken patty, and Nigerian meat pie to share between the 4 of us. My son loved the beef patty and daughter loved the chicken patty. The Nigerian meat pie was good but not our favorite of the three. I had the curry chicken, hubby & son got shawarma, and my daughter got the foo foo dish. I loved my curry chicken with spinach and jolloff rice - very flavorful. Hubby & son enjoyed their shawarma. My daughter didn't exactly love the foo foo though. She did taste some of our food and enjoyed it better than hers. Overall, good food. I really wanted oxtail but didn't want to spend the $40 for the dish. I'm sure it's great though and may try on another visit.

this place is so beautiful and the music is amazing. the Jollaf was a little undercooked thats why they get a 4 but everything else was amazing! the Jerk chicken, sauce, peas and ruce, cabbage , spinach and oxtails. not pictured were the plantains and those were so amazing!!

Met a friend here on a Sunday evening. We had no reservations so we took a chance. When you walk in the decor is very nice. It was no one there so our waitress let us pick our own seats. There were tables with nice chairs and booths. We chose a table. I will say our waitress was very truthful if we asked a question about food or drink preferences. I got the jerk chicken with sides and my friend got the fried chicken. Everything was good just wish the jerk chicken had a little bit more flavor. Also wish they were not out of jollof rice

We've driven past here several times and wanted to give this place a try. Service was good, but dishes were overly priced. We thought it would be mean to just walk out, so we decided to stay and give if a shot. My fried chicken was crispy but had no flavor on the inside. I was disappointed. We, unfortunately, won't be back.

Beef Suya

Everything was delicious. The jerk chicken is so moist and falls off the bone. Beef Suya is great, just needs more spicy. Oxtails were fantastic and the cabbage is amazing. Nigerian meat pie was amazing too. Beautiful location and service was great. Will be back.

Oxtails, fried rice and cabbage.

My first time ordering on door dash and I will never order again. This plate cost $50. I ordered oxtails and this is what I was given! Please save yourself some time

Delicious!! I ordered the jerk chicken with cabbage and rice. The chicken was flavorful, well spiced, and fell off the bone! I highly recommend this place!!

Puff Puffs (4 to an order)

This was our second time visiting. We ordered almost the same as before (jerk chicken, jollof rice, Jamaican meat pie, veggies & puff puffs). This time though we ordered our food to-go. The taste was consistent to our first visit and the portion sizes were decent although the veggies (cabbage for me and spinach for my wife could have been a bit more generous). We were also disappointed we had to split the meat pie when the online photo showed two. During our previous visit the owner mentioned they were planning to add a few Cuban dishes to the menu to address the confusion over the name. We did not notice anything Cuban was added but did still see the banner hanging outside that says Nigerian and Jamaican food. We assume that means they are going to live with the controversy. Overall, still a somewhat pricier meal. Probably more of a "dining experience" than lunch or dinner option. If you do go enjoy your food on-site to partake of the ambiance, hospitality and culture.

Food and atmosphere were great! Afro beats music and vibrant decor are very welcoming. The owner came to our table and greeted our group of 8 and we had a very attentive waitress. My chicken curry fell off the bone, the puff puff was perfectly sweet and crisp on the outside and o loved the spinach and plantains. If you're a ginger fan, try the pineapple ginger drink! So good! Can't wait to come back. I can definitely see myself hosting an event or party here that's larger than our small baby shower dinner.

Great ambiance and amazing food. I had the jerk chicken with cabbage and jollof rice. Service was fast and outstanding! Will be back.

Catfish & fries, Jerk chicken with rice and peas

The ambiance and decor of this place is nice. My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this place and our stomachs were prepared to feast. I ordered the catfish and fries and I was excited about it because I've been wanting some good catfish and you can't go wrong with fries. I was wrong. Exactly how the plate looks in the picture is exactly how it was left. I tried the catfish by itself and it was very bland, no flavor whatsoever. I tried the fish with ketchup and some sort of sauce they had, that made it no better. The catfish was fried really well and looked good the fries were bland as well. I had my boyfriend try it and he didn't care for it either. I'd give the catfish plate a 2/10. My boyfriend had the Jerk Chicken, he said it was okay but it didn't taste authentic not much flavor there either. He ate more than I did. When one of the girls asked how was the food. I proceeded to give her my honest feedback, she went and got the gentleman who may or may not be the owner. I told him feed back regarding the food and he tells me "it's just your tastebuds". Then proceeded to talk about a ladies night. That honestly rubbed me the wrong way a little bit, I am huge on customer service and customer retention, he wasn't rude or anything I just didn't care for the response like my tastebuds are lying to me. I dislike wasting money on food so needless to say I more than likely won't be back. However I do hope this business prospers and maybe it was just an off day I'm not sure but I wish the staff and owners well

Smokey flavored vinegar, pickle juice with a dash of barbecue sauce they call jerk sauce
Leslie H.

So I love eating out, but it just disturbs me. I literally paid $25 for these baby pieces of chicken. They can't even cover the whole palm of my hand, some dried rice and peas a scoop of cabbage and a jerk sauce that taste like water down hot sauce with a smoky flavor. they say sometime we can be our own worst enemies and yes, I was my own worst enemy today because I should've known better ...but seriously I literally paid $25 for a bowl of food like there is nothing on this plate like I could have went to Olive Garden or the taste of the islands Jamaican place and got a plate of food A FULL PLATE for half of this price. I have more rice on my plate than anything I mean was this Chicken cut from a baby that wasn't grown enough yet is these like baby chickens it's dry and Cold. I Definitely will not be going back.. and this not even jerk sauce I don't know what this is. This is some kind of smoky flavor taste like vinegar in it or something or pickle juice hot sauce with a pinch of barbecue sauce in it or something. I appreciate the hospitality when I came inside nice team but I literally wasted $25

Aloha, Tiki Tuesday! What a fun way to spend a Tuesday evening! The tropical cocktails helped us…read morefeel as though we were transported to the islands. They were not only beautifully crafted but absolutely delicious--each sip had us dreaming of swaying palm trees, ocean breezes, and a Hawaiian getaway. We loved both the Mai Tais and the Beachy Bookkeeper! We decided to share a few appetizers. The Meatballs al Forno was my favorite...packed with flavor and perfect for enjoying with friends over drinks. The Heirloom Tomato Burrata was okay however, the tomatoes didn't seem ripe and were hard and chewy. The Lobster in a Jar was tasty - on the pricey side if you ask me though... One of my favorite things about this spot is the ambiance. The lighting is low (and by low I am flat out dark where you almost can't see your hand in front of your face), creating a dark, cozy, and intimate atmosphere that makes it easy to relax and unwind after a long day. Whether you're catching up with friends, enjoying a date night, or simply looking for a place to escape for a few hours, the vibe here is spot on. The service was fantastic as well. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed, which only added to the experience. Tiki Tuesday has officially become one of my favorite weekly traditions. Great drinks, delicious appetizers, wonderful service, and a cozy atmosphere--what more could you ask for? I'll definitely be back next Tuesday for another little island escape. Where's my grass skirt and coconut bra??? Mahalo for a great evening!

We got our drinks as we were almost finished with appetizers. Drinks are overpriced. Here's a picture of a $20 old-fashioned before I had a sip. We had reservations but there was no major crowd at 5:30. The place is contemporary, white tiles, brass finishes. Fully stocked bar. Nice big windows. Started with a Rail District cocktail that was really good. Finished with a Last Word which had a strong licorice flavor (not my fav) but the cherry at the bottom was great! We split the SPREADABLE WHIPPED LEMON BASIL GOAT CHEESE. Loved this. But note to the Chef or food prep - the toast crackers had so many holes in the bread, there was NO surface for the spreadable. Pieces of toast were basically outer crust and the inner area of bread had 90% giant holes. It was comical. Whoever plated this should have been more selective. My wife had the Salmon and I had the steak. The steak had a large pad of delicious blue cheese and butter on top of it, that slowly melted over the steak and potatoes. That was special. Endive salad was pretty dry, very little dressing. So I mixed it in with the potatoes and cheese/butter.

I say approximately because we live about a 10 minute drive and we left our home about 6:20, but I digress. Upon our arrival we were seated and provided with water and menus. The business was not that crowded at this time and several tables had already been served or had their respective drinks. At 6:40 when we had no additional contact with the wait staff that seated us or any other staff. There were two bartenders and to table wait staff. The bartenders were making drinks while the wait staff appeared to be behind the counter and occasionally seating newer customers. At 6:40 my wife was ready to leave, I told her I would give them to 7:00, at 6:59 our waitress came back to our table, the first time since she sat us. She took our drink order as well as our dinner order. At approximately 7:05 I saw the bartender making our drinks and place them at the end of the bar. During this time I believe that our wait staff was preparing one of our food items while the second wait staff was serving some customers in her are or taking orders. At 7:12 I went to the end of the bar to get our drinks but there was no glass for the wine as the bartender poured it out in a small carafe. So I left them at the bar. Mat 7:15 our waitress came staff got a wind glass and poured the carafe of wine into the glass at the bar and then brought the drinks to us. Approximately 7:25 our meals arrived. Again, the food was good.

A one-day difference, especially for a family celebration, could have easily been handled with a little kindness or flexibility, but instead we were met with rigid policies and zero customer appreciation. The food was ok, but customer service and how management treats families matter just as much. What should have been a special birthday outing turned into a frustrating and disappointing experience because of how uncompromising the manager was. It felt more like they cared about technicalities than creating good customer experiences. Sadly, this lack of consideration left a bad impression, and we won't be returning. BIG mistake. The service was horribly slow. Our server even let us know that rolls were "backed up" and would "take a while". The food is ALL average to not great.
