This is my first time here as my friend and I came. The food was really good and the atmosphere is so nice. Come and try for yourself.

Let's me start off with the ambiance of this place is a 10 out of 10. Very welcoming and the decor is sleek & modern. Customer Service is truly amazing... The owner is very accommodating to making this right! Now, with that being said we ordered a variety of food and cocktails in which this is where I was highly disappointed Food I'm give it a 3 out of 10 and cocktails 0 out of 0. The place needs a mixologist seriously, for the cost of the drinks you would be highly disappointed. Best two things on the menu I would say is the cabbage and the oxtails in which are highly overpriced. Would I return probably not, but hey I suggest try them at your own risk. African-Jamaican fusion that's fresh, flavorful, and legit. The vibes are chill, the decor is cute, and the owner is an angel. He let my friends throw me a surprise baby shower here . I went all in with the Afro-Caribbean platter: jollof rice, rice & peas, curry chicken, jerk chicken, and cabbage. Plus it came with this tasty little curried potato + carrot situation. *Chef's kiss* Chicken fell off the bone! Both rices were flavorful, and the cabbage was cooked just right. Washed it all down with a Jamaican pineapple soda (so good) and also grabbed a chicken patty because why not? No regrets. I hate driving. I complain the whole time. I saw an IG post which enticed us to come because my daughter wanted to try foo foo. We arrived about bit after 7pm and were seated immediately. There were a few other tables of people and others started coming in shortly thereafter. Inside is decorated nicely - cool, chill atmosphere. We were given menus and looked them over to decide what we wanted. There was one server at the time we were seated, but two more started afterwards when more people arrived. We got the beef patty, chicken patty,and Nigerian meat pie to share between the 4 of us. My son loved the beef patty and daughter loved the chicken patty. The Nigerian meat pie was good but not our favorite of the three. I had the curry chicken, hubby & son got shawarma, and my daughter got the foo foo dish. I loved my curry chicken with spinach and jolloff rice - very flavorful. Hubby & son enjoyed their shawarma. My daughter didn't exactly love the foo foo though. She did taste some of our food and enjoyed it better than hers. Overall, good food. I really wanted oxtail but didn't want to spend the $40 for the dish. Met a friend here on a Sunday evening. We had no reservations so we took a chance. When you walk in the decor is very nice. It was no one there so our waitress let us pick our own seats. There were tables with nice chairs and booths. We chose a table. I will say our waitress was very truthful if we asked a question about food or drink preferences. I got the jerk chicken with sides and my friend got the fried chicken. Everything was good just wish the jerk chicken had a little bit more flavor. Tried going here twice. First time I walked it wasn't busy no on acknowledged me after a few minutes I walked out. Second time I walked in server glanced at me and looked away. Eventually she came and pointed at table. No greeting no nothing like I she couldn't be bothered. I gave her the benefit of the doubt. Waited for the menus she dropped it off I asked if they had oxtails. She said yes and walked off. After waiting a while with no follow up no water I got fed up and left. First time visiting tonight! We originally came in thinking it was Cuban food, but as soon as we walked in, the vibe and decor gave us full Jamaican energy. We're always open to trying something new, so we went for it -- and we're so glad we did. We ordered the oxtail dish and the fried chicken meal. Both were juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. This was our second time visiting. We ordered almost the same as before (jerk chicken, jollof rice, Jamaican meat pie, veggies & puff puffs). This time though we ordered our food to-go. The taste was consistent to our first visit and the portion sizes were decent although the veggies (cabbage for me and spinach for my wife could have been a bit more generous). We were also disappointed we had to split the meat pie when the online photo showed two. During our previous visit the owner mentioned they were planning to add a few Cuban dishes to the menu to address the confusion over the name. We did not notice anything Cuban was added but did still see the banner hanging outside that says Nigerian and Jamaican food. We assume that means they are going to live with the controversy. Overall, still a somewhat pricier meal. Probably more of a "dining experience" than lunch or dinner option. If you do go enjoy your food on-site to partake of the ambiance, hospitality and culture. read more

Food and atmosphere were great! Afro beats music and vibrant decor are very welcoming. The owner came to our table and greeted our group of 8 and we had a very attentive waitress. My chicken curry fell off the bone, the puff puff was perfectly sweet and crisp on the outside and o loved the spinach and plantains. If you're a ginger fan, try the pineapple ginger drink! So good! I normally don't like to write such a review but between the taste and the cost of food I wouldn't recommend this anyone. I ordered the Nigerian beef special, 3 small pieces beef. Jollof rice and cabbage. The cabbage was full of salt. But the meat, the sauce and jollof rice was so spicy it barely editable. I should have sent it back. Not to mention the prices...$30 for those ridiculously small portions, I shouldn't have known the food was going to be nasty when I saw the couple leave with all that food still on their place. Came to Cubana Grille with my whole family -- and there were a lot of us! We ordered jerk chicken, oxtail, spinach, cabbage, curry goat, white rice, pepper soup, tilapia, grilled fish, and even the kids meals -- and everything was delicious. The flavors were on point, and the portions were solid. Even though they seemed a little short-staffed, the service didn't skip a beat. The ambiance and decor of this place is nice. My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this place and our stomachs were prepared to feast. I ordered the catfish and fries and I was excited about it because I've been wanting some good catfish and you can't go wrong with fries. I was wrong. Exactly how the plate looks in the picture is exactly how it was left. I tried the catfish by itself and it was very bland, no flavor whatsoever. I tried the fish with ketchup and some sort of sauce they had, that made it no better. The catfish was fried really well and looked good the fries were bland as well. I had my boyfriend try it and he didn't care for it either. I'd give the catfish plate a 2/10. My boyfriend had the Jerk Chicken, he said it was okay but it didn't taste authentic not much flavor there either. He ate more than I did. When one of the girls asked how was the food. I proceeded to give her my honest feedback, she went and got the gentleman who may or may not be the owner. I told him feed back regarding the food and he tells me "it's just your tastebuds". Then proceeded to talk about a ladies night. That honestly rubbed me the wrong way a little bit, I am huge on customer service and customer retention, he wasn't rude or anything I just didn't care for the response like my tastebuds are lying to me. I dislike wasting money on food so needless to say I more than likely won't be back. So I love eating out, but it just disturbs me. I literally paid $25 for these baby pieces of chicken. They can't even cover the whole palm of my hand, some dried rice and peas a scoop of cabbage and a jerk sauce that taste like water down hot sauce with a smoky flavor. they say sometime we can be our own worst enemies and yes, I was my own worst enemy today because I should've known better ...but seriously I literally paid $25 for a bowl of food like there is nothing on this plate like I could have went to Olive Garden or the taste of the islands Jamaican place and got a plate of food A FULL PLATE for half of this price. I have more rice on my plate than anything I mean was this Chicken cut from a baby that wasn't grown enough yet is these like baby chickens it's dry and Cold. I Definitely will not be going back.. and this not even jerk sauce I don't know what this is. This is some kind of smoky flavor taste like vinegar in it or something or pickle juice hot sauce with a pinch of barbecue sauce in it or something. My son and I came here yesterday evening, and were welcomed when we first walked in. The owner and the cook asked how the food was, and let me just say the food was amazing we had peppered soup with goat meat, jollof rice and oxtails. Food was generally good but the jerk chicken tasted as it had been sitting. Two people each ordered a beef patty which was served on one plate (each should have been on their own plate). Prices of the food seemed high for what you received. Service was horrible. The waitress was more interested in her phone than waiting on tables. The place was not busy. There was 1 party of two there at the same-time we were. We all asked for water - brought out 2 glasses and had to keep reminding her that 2 others wanted water. Waited for food, was received but had to wait for silverware - waitress acted as if she was put out. Waitress did not come back to see if there was anything else we needed. My Nigerian American family and I tried Cubans Grill today Saturday at 5pm. Total bill $81.13. The food was not prepared well at all. The meat pie was mostly dough. So much so that you could not taste the meat or flavors. The Jollof rice, goat meat, and cabbage were all under cooked. The jerk chicken sauce tasted like watered down bar b q sauce. When we arrived we were the only customers initially, we were not greeted. However when a Caucasian couple walked they were greeted with "Welcome in" and smiles. The waitress never came to our table to ask if we needed anything additional and once we received the check she did not say a word- like have a good evening or anything else. I'm giving it a 2 star only because the music that was playing was nice. However the food and service deserve zero stars. The tip that we leave is- They must do better in order to keep customers. We ordered our food and the rice in both our dishes was slightly undercooked/dry. The curry I ordered, I honestly question if it was freshly made as the taste and texture reminded me of the Japanese curry blocks you can buy at the grocery store. I was very interested in trying Nigerian food for the first time! We heard good things about Cubana Grille, but my family and I experienced bad service. The food took forever to come out of the kitchen, and was super spicy and inedible. Not to mention everything was so salty! After ordering 2 dishes and 2 kids meals, the entire bill was $100, which is outrageous for the quantity. Definitely will not be returning here. read more
