My husband however, ordered the beef jollof rice lunch special. We went during lunch and there was absolutely no one in there. I guess I overlooked that as my sign to eat the food that I had just bought from the grocery store instead. Anyway, the lady at the counter was nice. It took our takeout 20-30 minutes to get to us. When I say I have never been so disappointed to eat African food, is an understatement. My container was filled with tons of fries, but less than the recommended palm size of chicken. The chicken had absolutely no flavor, that I had to dip it in the ketchup just to consume it. My husband let me taste his jollof rice and plantains. The jollof rice was not good either. The best thing was the plantains. I'm glad we avoided getting the bigger portions which would have costed us around $50, because they also have a policy that says they don't give refunds just because you don't like it. I don't think we will be going back, but at least we tried to support a local business.

It directs to an article about this restaurant on D Magazine website. Not sure why the owner has not noticed and corrected that yet. If there is no website then Google should not show it at all. It is just confusing to customers. Second, their restaurant menu is not up to date. Majority of the items under "Les Grillades," "A La Braise," and "Sauces" were not available. We were told by the server that they used to make it in the past but not anymore. If not anymore, again, why the menu is not up to date? Why wasting customer's time? There is a picture of a full grilled chicken with coleslaw on Google. When asked for it, we were told it is a "Pepper Chicken" that is only available during the day time and we also have to order in advance. We didn't see this item on the menu and not sure how customers will know about this item and when to order. Pure carelessness from the owner! For the food, we ordered "Meat Pie," "Benachin," and "Afra/Dibi" chicken. Meat pie was good but little expensive in my opinion. Afra/Dibi chicken was good as well and also came up with a decent portion. What I didn't like about it is that it only came with a bunch of onions and nothing else. No sides at all which I thought was little bizarre specially for the price they are charging. I did not like Benachin! Small portion, expensive, and tasted just okay. It was just a boiled meat with some rice and vegetable curry. Vegetable curry was good but rest of the dish was just okay. I don't recommend this dish. Their customer service was iffy. We were not checked upon in a timely manner. There was a short hair African American lady and her customer service was good. There was another African American lady and she definitely needs training on her customer service and attitude. She would barely come to the table and hardly answer any questions or try to help. Rest of the time I saw her behind the counter spending time on her phone! This restaurant only has bottled water and they charge for it. I may or may not come back to this restaurant in the future.

When we first got in, it was fairly busy, I thought it was a sit down restaurant, not takeout. No worries we can just take our food to go (we drove here from Addison). It was about 2:30 when we ordered. The prices seemed a bit high ($30 for a small sized entree with no sides). But that's fine, nobody forced us to dine here. My friend and I ordered a ram suya and a goat suya and my other friend ordered a beef suya and a wrap. We go and wait on the couch. It was quite hot and we started to sweat, waiting for our food. 25 minutes passed and we see other people receiving their food, no worries, I understand some dishes take longer than others to come out. However after 45 minutes we were getting fed up. Mind you my friend and I were the only asians in the store (the other friend was Nigerian), and seeing people who ordered way ahead of us get their food and leaving, it was quite agitating. Finally my friend (Nigerian friend) gets one of his dishes, but that's it. Finally after another 2-3 minutes, the cashier comes to us and tells my friend (the Nigerian one) that they ran out of an ingredient and would give it to him for free without the missing ingredient and he agreed but she completely ignores me and my other friend (both asian). The three of us get pretty upset at this point and I tell my friend to ask them how longer it will be. He goes and asks her and she says one of the dishes (goat suya) is ready but the other one was an ADDITIONAL 10-15 minutes... she offered a small sample of the beef suya to us three to share while we waited (mind you this is now 50 minutes) We decided to get a refund for the other dish and just take the one that's ready and leave. Incredibly rude and horrendous service! At least if yall are taking a bit longer, let me know, and if yall are out of an ingredient, please say that. Also, why were my friend and I (the asian ones) completely ignored while all of the other patrons at least were offered a refund or notified of shortages of ingredients. Even my Nigerian friend who was clearly with us was notified but I was completely ignored. Not gonna imply anything but actions speak louder than words. Finally when we got back home, the meat seemed low quality, about 75% of it was vegetables. The flavor was delicious but not $30 worth and definitely not with the service they offer. Maybe they were having a bad day, but I will never come back here again and would advise others not to patron this business either.
