I like all the food--the shrimp, in particular, are very fresh--but the wait time to get a table is very long.

The food and meat quality was amazing. And Kenny was very attentive and friendly. He made our experience great! We'll be back soon

Midweek boiling crab to help get me to Friday! Yes please! Came by and got a pound of shrimp head on and a pound of snow crab. This place always hits. Big fan of the whole shabang sauces. Servers here are always quick and polite. Bathroom is kind of small considering it's a restaurant that is literally always packed. If I could make one recommendation, this place NEEDS outside heaters. When I have ate outside here you feel the wind and if it's cold outside it makes for a brutal experience not faint for the weak! I'm sure the propane for the heaters wouldn't hurt the budget too bad and it'll possibly help with wait times. Most people prefer to eat inside leaving the patio empty later in the nights due to the weather. Just advice. Join the waitlist on yelp to reduce waiting in person! read more

I'm going to give them 2 stars because the server was eventually able to seat us indoors. The patio is not heated AT ALL. I will start by saying their app or whatever they use to estimate the table wait time was glitching today. It would bump me to 5, back to 7 and I ended up at 10 at one point. The girls in the front are so helpless. I asked to speak to a manager because at this point I've waited over 20 min of the estimated wait time. In the mean time my party and I were chillin ordering drinks as we wait. We were a party of 5, 2 elderly and a child included. We were very patient and the manager offered us no solution. I don't remember her name because I couldn't believe how incredibly rude she was. She was a young lady who offered me zero solutions other than to "not rely" on the link that they, the establishment sends me. Like. We just spend over $$ to WAIT. You couldn't offer us a table inside or even a drink while we wait? I even told her they were not being at all hospitable as they have been in the past. I'm so disappointed in this establishment. I am even more disappointed because I convinced my family to come here for my birthday. I will be taking my business to Woodland Hills moving forward. Whoever was the manager today, please have someone speak to her about customer service and hospitality. Ew. Just ew. My waitress and server though. 5 stars for the effort. Came on a Tuesday night and it was PACKED, so I definitely recommend joining the online waitlist ahead of time. Big space with indoor and outdoor seating. Jess, our server, was amazing! Super attentive, friendly, and made the experience even better. We ordered the 2 lb shrimp with the Whole Shabang sauce (mild), and it never disappoints. Pretty good and surprisingly for once no wait time!! This is for a Monday evening 6:30pm Group of 6 and we seated quickly. We ordered a couple bags of 1lb shrimp, sweet potatoes fries, lemon, pepper, fries, and fried shrimp plus a side of steamed white rice For flavor, I like to get the whole shabang which is all three of their flavors in one and for spice I get medium it's not too hot, but I give it a good 7 out of 10. This time around the 1 pound bag of shrimp was $18 and FYI it's not deveined so if you don't like to see the line of poop in your shrimp best to avoid now I like to order a side of steamed white rice to soak up all that extra sauce I also like to add lemon and the salt and pepper mix for some extra flavor. The fries we ordered were pretty crispy, and the shrimp batter was very light which made for some nice delicate fried shrimps. All in all you will get full and the price point is fair so put your bib on and dig in! read more

We've visited The Boiling Crab numerous times. The wait time can be extensive, especially on Weekends so be prepared to be there a while. This location offers outdoor seating as well as indoor dining, both are always packed. Indoor dining is a bit noisy but we prefer it. During our recent visit, our waitress let us know they now offer family combos! Finally!! The deals are pretty good so we opted to order 2 'Get Dirty' combos. Surprisingly, the food came out fairly quick. The first platter came out, looked amazing! Second platter came out, looked a little sad. Our waitress happened to be walking by and asked if everything was ok. I mentioned how the platters looked way different. One looked full while the other looked like it was missing shrimp. The waitress agreed and offered to have a manager stop by and look at the platters. When the manager came to the table, she asked what the issue was and I asked why the platters looked so different being that we had ordered the same thing. She tried saying one was a different combo, I reminded her that both were the same. The ONLY thing this manager found appropriate to say was that for every pound of shrimp on the tray, there were between 20-30 shrimp and the tray comes with 2 pounds. Ok.... Thanks?!? Clearly, I know what I ordered. I simply wanted to know why 2 orders of the SAME platter looked so different. Were larger shrimp used for one platter?? Did it maybe have extra shrimp? Is that something that happens often?? Who knows! At least now I know to expect between 20-30 shrimp per pound. I was NOT looking for a discount but I was hoping to receive a better answer. We usually love coming to The Boiling Crab for my oldest daughter's birthday, but this visit was disappointing. After a long day at Universal Studios Hollywood, we chose this location because it was the closest on a Saturday. Unfortunately, the food quality wasn't up to par. Our shrimp bags arrived, but some of the shrimp were undercooked, and a few pieces of corn were still cold on the inside. The service also fell short. Our waiter was mostly unavailable, didn't check in on our table, and we had to ask other staff for refills and items we never received. We understand it gets busy, but basic table check-ins would have made a big difference. The ambiance was okay, but overall this experience didn't meet our expectations. First timer (at this location)! Saturday lunch, arrived a little after they opened, no wait. Very clean, food came out pretty fast, great service from every single person we encountered. Andrea and the rest of the staff were very attentive, friendly, and communicated wonderfully. This location provided exceptional service to us. I'm very disappointed with the service I received today. I waited for three hours, only to be removed from the waiting list. To make matters worse, I then decided to order takeout, and it turns out I was given someone else's leftovers. Inside the bag, there was a half-bitten corn and a chewed-up potato. This experience was extremely disappointing and unacceptable. Apparently, according to the manager Alfredo, this was not leftover food. He claimed the corn looks like this when it's overcooked. However, the picture doesn't lie. Please don't come to me with that explanation. While he did try to offer credit and make things right, he would not admit that this appeared to be someone else's food and instead insisted it was simply overcooked. read more

Today was our first time at The Boiling Crab and it was Amazing. The food was so delicious and the staff were great. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. We were a large party of 12 and were accommodated quickly with a setup outside which I liked. The weather was great and the outdoor seating has view of the grove and people walking by. We had a bag with shrimp, sausage, corn, and all the sauces combined. That combo was delicious. In another bag we had 1 pound of King Crab (85 dollars per pound) just fyi the shrimp was (18 dollars a pound) and Snow crab, I believe that was 35 or 37 dollars a pound. Also had the plate of fried calamari and lemon pepper fries. The fries were super delicious! I love how the table cloth is paper and you just pile everything in the middle out of the way. Lastly our server was great and offered great insight on good menu items. My family and I will definitely be returning soon. Also we drove 2 hours to eat here and would do it again. But for my wife's bday, we decided to go to the one in Burbank since its closer to my house and hoping the wait wasn't too bad. We arrived at 5pm on a Saturday and it was packed. Fortunately, the host said the wait was only 20-30 min. We were seated fairly quick and ordered some snowcrab, dungenesscrab, shrimp, sausage, corn, potatoes, mussels, the whole shebang with the OG mild sauce. Everything was cooked to perfection but the sauce was the kicker. Not too spicy, not too sweet and not too salty. It was so good, I ordered a bowl of rice and mixed it with the sauce. I think I should have chose mild spicy level too, it seemed on the bland side to me. Service was great, parking is not fun at this location, got creative and parked at the near by mall. Prices are affordable for the sides like corn, potato etc but a little pricy on the proteins so prepare to spend some money. $$$ The lemon pepper fries were the MVP along with the corn. My best friend and I were around the neighborhood and were hungry. We looked through Yelp and decided to try this location out, as we usually stick to the Brookhurst location. It's located in an outdoor shopping center a few minutes walk away from the mall. Tons of restaurants and entertainment were here. It was later in the evening, around 8:30 or so, but there were still many people in the nice summer night. We put our name down and the staff said we should make the cutoff for seating. We walked around for a bit to check out what else was here, then came back and waited to be called. We were seriously tempted by the ice cream across the way - but we didn't give in. After roughly 20 minutes, we were called in and got seated. We opted to sit outside as it was a nice evening. Unfortunately, someone was smoking nearby (one of the other customers?) and made for a very unpleasant situation until they left. Service was fine, food was good and everything came out quickly. I love the boiling crab concept and I think this location is great. My friend and I joined the Yelp waitlist before arrival so we were seated immediately. Some locations don't do the waitlist so this was an awesome perk. I usually get the shrimp and some locations can be hit or miss when it comes to that - sometimes the shrimp tend to be overcooked. At this location, the shrimp was cooked to perfection! The service was also fantastic. Our server checked in several times during our meal and even volunteered to itemize our receipt, which was super kind. Parking in the lot was also relatively easy on a Thursday night. This is my coworkers go-to place when they want to go out in a big group and it's pretty good! We have been here twice and they are very accommodating and great for big groups! Been coming to boiling crab for years. Quality is way better than other locations so been coming to this one consistently. A few of the newer servers though just don't provide good service. Past 3 times get sat with the same server and just dont get checked on... go the entire meal without refills.
