    So delicious!

Absolutely incredible I was very surprised to even know that I had a really tasty Korean barbecue place right here in Glendale!! I'm so used to driving down to Alhambra or Koreatown for some tasty Korean barbecue and this place did not disappoint!! First of all our waiter, Elijah had incredible energy and kicked off one of the best dinners I've had in a long time and was an incredible server!! He recommended his top four and we instantly went with it, and it was spot on!! Throughout the night, he would come in and check on us and make sure that we were good but allowed us to have great conversation! We ordered the Bulgogi, steak, short rib, beef, belly, and so many more, and every single one seemed to have incredible flavor or some sort of garnish that went with it I'm so used to constantly dipping my meat in oil or salt and this is the first time that I have ever barely touched the side dish All the meat was incredibly delicious!! I would highly recommend this place and I'm definitely coming back!

I came for lunch and it was a great experience! It was a weekday so it wasn't busy but that's what I actually prefer-- usually kbbq places get busy and crowded on weekends, long waits, and service not the best. Anyways, everything we ordered came in correctly. Meats flavored well. Fresh crunchy flavorful salad - not soggy and drenched with dressing. Great service - brought the plates out quickly. No complaints!

We only ordered two meals, but the wait was very long. The rice had a hair in it--possibly from improper hygiene--and the place smelled unpleasant. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

    Metal shaving in meat.

Service was atrocious today. They kept forgetting our order and to top it off there was a shaving from a piece of metal in the meat. Never going back.

Gen Korean BBQ serves some great food and at a reasonable price, especially compared to others. At $31 for a weekend price, that's pretty incredible. You get about 30 choices and a bunch of appetizers included. Also comes with rice and salad. Standard Korean BBQ place where you cook your meats and eat. Be careful what you order, though, because if you can't finish it, you get charged $5 for wasting an item. Pretty standard at these places. The ball was really dropped with the service, though. As my wife and I were seated, we waited for a waiter, that never showed up. After about 20 minutes, we pulled a random waiter from another side and asked what the heck was happening. The dude, whose name was Ethan, was very kind and amazing. He took over and helped us with everything we needed. He was a great guy and deserves the recognition, and I hope he gets recognized for going above and beyond. However, apparently we had a girl waiter who was supposed to be our main waiter but instead avoided us and did not assist us. When she was confronted and was told that she basically ignored us and we were upset, her reaction was to look at us and say"I don't care," like she thought I did not see or hear her, but guess what, girly! I did! Needless to say, this obviously pissed me the F off, and I had to inform management of the issue. The manager apologized and corrected the issue and made sure we were taken care of. I don't like to be this crazy about these things, but sometimes you just have to in order to bring the attention of management to this behavior from people who clearly don't want to work. Aside from the issue that the manager did resolve, Ethan attended to us well and provided us with everything we needed, and our experience was great while we were attended by him. Safe to say he saved our experience, and management heard our concerns. Thanks to these people for stepping up and being great. Much appreciated.

I've never been to this Gen location but decided to give it in a try since I was shopping in the area. The server was friendly however forgot to bring out some of the sides until after asking a few times. I asked for smaller portions which the server assisted, with the exception of the Korean fried chicken. She mentioned that the portion was small however it wasn't that small and my party was not able to finish it. Other downsides were that the japchae was a little too salty and at times there were no employees around to assist with a grill change.

Ask the Community - Gen Korean BBQ House

Have they stopped using the Yelp wait list? I used it a month ago but didn't see it today when we went?

I've been checking and it's never there anymore which is a huge bummer, we honestly won't go if we have to wait around - I can't see the upside of getting rid of the yelp waitlist! BRING IT BACK!!

    Do they accept cash?

    Yes

Should I make a reservation for a weeknight'?

    Yes, that's always best!

Do they offer corn cheese at this location?

What time is your last call for weekend hours?

As of 12/16/2022, it depends on who is working the front counter and who your server is for the night. Sometimes, it's an hour before closing time and sometimes, provided that you are already seated at a table, they'll let you keep ordering meat… Read more

Is there no more lunch special anymore? I went with my partner at 1:30 and they charged us dinner pricing

As of 12/16/2022, for the AYCE option, it's a flat rate pricing of $28.99 plus tax per person (whch is basically $32 per person) regardless of time of day that you show up, whether noon time or late at night. The 'a la carte' menu didn't seem to… Read more

Can any of the sides or salad dressing be purchased?

As of 12/16/2022, if you go with the $28.99 AYCE option, sides & salad dressing are free. Just ask your server for more sides. If you go by the 'a la carte' menu, it'll be whatever the price they list it as on their menu. Every location's menu &… Read more

Can a party of 1 person eat or is it 2 minimum?

Party of 1 is always welcomed and sometimes needed.

Do you need to still show your vaccine card?

    No, not required anymore

You guys allow cats? Even thought if the cat stay in their backpack?

Legally you're only allowed to cook beef, pork, or chicken for protein. Cats are considered domestic animals.

We have a vegetarian in our group. Can the mushroom and vegetable option be cooked separate from the meet to accommodate them or is there any off menu option?

That's considered going above and beyond their normal job duties. Might want to include a 40% tip.

Do they accept home negative test?

Nope. Has to be CDC official card.

Is proof of Covid vaccination still required for dining in?

    No. That nightmare is over!

Hey saying I can just bring home negative test they want me to bring the actual test with me or how does this work if I use home test?

As of 12/16/2022, showing the physical, valid CDC proof of vaccination is no longer required for dining in.

How much per person on dinner?

It's on their website. Last time I went it was 26.99? I think. But it's one menu. No A B or C.

    Are vaccine cards required?

    Yes

Do I need reservations for 15 people?

I don't believe they take reservations. But that could also depend on location. They do have a Waitlist on Yelp.

Is there a time limit for dining?

    Yes it's a 90 minute time limit

What time is your lunch special over?

As of 12/16/2022, there are no lunch, dinner, and/or drink specials anymore. The menu doesn't note it, there were no banners or posters or table stands on-site indicating otherwise. It is either AYCE, which is a single, flat rate price of $28.99… Read more

Hi do you guys do reservations?

Outside there's many plants that make walking in very welcoming. The food may be for some people, but not for me. I ordered 6 on the menu which I expected to be extremely flavorful based on its appearance, but it tasted very plain to me. I did order a more simple item on the menu compared to others, so I guess I should have expected that. My family enjoyed theirs which is good. There are plenty of other options, but they are mostly spicy; however, the side dishes are amazing! The cost is a bit pricy, but if you like it, it's worth it. This was an overall pretty good experience, and would recommend; just make sure you're a fan of this kind of food.

My boyfriend and I decided to treat ourselves to Korean food for dinner and typically we would go to Jincook, but I wanted to try something different. I found K-Street on Yelp and wanted to give it a try. There's plenty of parking in a safe parking garage which is nice! We arrived to the restaurant at around 8pm? Upon walking in we saw that they have a B rating so my boyfriend was a bit weary of eating there. Upon walking in, it was completely empty-- understandable because it was a Wednesday night. The server was a super nice woman who gave us recommendations and explained things I needed clarification for. The restaurant was cute, had street signs for streets in Korea and a huge projector that screened music videos on the wall. I'm sure the place is usually poppin' on nights when it's busy! It was really quiet because we were the only ones there but the music was a nice addition to break the silence. My boyfriend ordered the Bulgogi Dolsot, which is bulgogi with rice in a hot stone. He said the bulgogi had great flavors and the crispy rice was his favorite! The bulgogi wasn't fatty or too tough, he loved that they didn't skimp on the meat. I ordered the Hot Pot Bulgogi, it was a soup with bulgogi, some rice cakes, and some noodles. It was served with rice, but I skipped on eating the rice. The soup to me was a bit too salty! It had great umami flavor and depth to the rich flavor but I needed lemon or vinegar to break up the saltiness. The bulgogi in the soup was nice and tender, I ate basically all of the bulgogi. The rice cakes were nice and chewy, and the noodles made it feel like a complete meal. Was it worth $22? Not to me, for what it was I think it should've been around $15. The also gave us complementary banchan, but it wasn't the best. I understand we were only two people and they were bottomless, but 4 small pieces of pickled radish and 2 bites of kimchi? I could've easily eaten 5 plates of each but I didn't want the server constantly coming back to bring us more. Again, we were the only ones there so I didn't want to feel like a burden. Would I come back here again? Unfortunately not. My first impression at K-Street wasn't the best and there are plenty Korean restaurants that I personally like!

As soon as we were seated, I asked if I could place our order while we waited for the rest of our party, since I already knew what we wanted. The server said no--we had to wait until everyone arrived. Fair enough. Our friends arrived about five minutes later, but it still took about 15 minutes before anyone came over to take our order. The restaurant is small, and there were only about three other tables with customers, all of which were already eating. Thirty minutes after ordering, we still hadn't received a single item. My friend suspected they were fulfilling online orders first, so I went up to ask how much longer it would be. The response: another 30 minutes. At that point, after already waiting 45 minutes, we decided to leave. If the kitchen was that backed up, why not let us know? Why refuse to take the order when I first asked? Or at least warn us that the wait would be over 45 minutes? The food is good, but not worth that level of disregard for customers who are physically sitting in the restaurant. My friend later told me she's had issues with their customer service in the past as well. This was very disappointing, and we'll be choosing other ramen places from now on. It really seems like they're understaffed for the amount of dine-in and online orders they're trying to handle. Another person in the kitchen might make a huge difference.
