This is my go-to spot for pho. I've yet to find another place closer to home that matches the quality this restaurant offers. Prices may have gone up slightly since my first visit, but overall they've remained pretty reasonable. Parking is located behind the building, and it is paid, so just keep that in mind. If you we want yo have a bad experience go to this restaurant We visited a Vietnamese restaurant called Pho Hut in Glendale, California, hoping to find an authentic local Vietnamese spot, especially since my husband and I love Vietnamese soups. We ordered the largest soups for ourselves and a friend and everything was ordered politely and respectfully.When the soups arrived, we were given only two very small slices of lime and part of another small piece, which was clearly not enough for three large bowls of soup. So we calmly asked for some extra lime. Instead of a normal response, the waiter, a man who always wears fake luxury brand clothing, brought two large plates filled with cut limes, far more than what we asked for or needed. What shocked us was not the amount, but his behavior. He aggressively pushed the plates toward the table, almost slamming them down, in a very rude and hostile way.We were all stunned. We looked at each other, confused, wondering what just happened and why he reacted like that. It was extremely uncomfortable and honestly a behavior I have never experienced anywhere else in my life. Neither my husband nor our friends had ever seen anything like it. We had done nothing disrespectful, said nothing rude, and simply made a normal request.I later asked another staff member, a female waitress, if everything was okay with him. She replied, "Don't mind him," which made it clear that this behavior is known there. That made the situation even more upsetting. We live in the United States, and basic customer service and respect should not be optional. We did not go there expecting free food. We went as paying customers, treated the staff politely, and even left a full tip despite the way we were treated, simply because we believe in proper manners and respect.Unfortunately, this was not a one time experience. When we went there again, the same waiter behaved in a similarly rude and disrespectful way. I believe he is an employee, but I truly do not know who hired him, what qualifications they saw in him, or whether he is a family member or even the owner. I honestly hope he is not the owner, because the way he treated us was unacceptable.There are many Vietnamese restaurants out there, and we have had wonderful experiences at other places where we were treated with kindness and respect. Poor service like this only hurts the restaurant in the long run. I hope that if the manager or owner reads this, they take this seriously and make sure no other customers have to go through such an unpleasant experience. This new location is on a busy street where even on Sundays you have to pay. We got there around 11:30ish and it wasn't too busy but there were a few patrons there. i wanted to find a new pho spot for myself and after reading the positive reviews i am so glad I decided to come and give this place a try! the ambiance is chill and comforting. i was able to sit at any seat i wanted, the music was calming.. not so loud, & the service was efficient. the gentleman who took my order was very nice. i ordered myself the pho chicken with vegetables. they also give you garnishes you can add in your pho as well. the pho was absolutely delicious and fulfilling. the chicken broth had some flavor before i added my own sauces. the chicken was good and their vegetables were fresh veggies. i like that the broccoli weren't in giant sizes but cut up into bite sizes. as for my drink, i tried their Thai tea and it was really good and creamy! i really liked this place and I'll most definitely be coming back the next time im craving pho! read more

The pho broth was on the lighter side compared to other places. I had to add stuff to it to bring it to life. Serving sizes were very generous and service was extremely fast. The place was clean. I'm a Pho lover and I'm really picky about where I go to have it. Pho Hut has been one of the spots I've been going to a couple of times because I feel like it tastes closest to authentic Pho when I'm not in the SGV area. The location itself is easy to find. There's plenty of paid parking lots in the area and street parking as well. The restaurant itself is pretty spacious and clean with lots of tables. Service is good too, no complaints there. The previous times I've been here the Pho is great and flavorful, comes out piping hot which is best. The last time I was here, I came right when they opened. I ordered the Pho Dac Biet and added Meatballs and my partner ordered the Oxtail Pho. I think the downside of all of this was that the pho broth wasn't super hot when we ate our food and the oxtail he ordered could have been cooked longer because it wasn't tender at all. Kind of frustrating when you pay for a large bowl of oxtail pho for over $20. He ended up not eating much of it. We also ordered Chicken wings. It was nice and crispy but totally lacked in flavor. The coffee was very strong, as expected of Vietnamese coffee, but theirs was especially strong during my visit. The pork in my sandwich was delicious, juicy, and my favorite part! The good: It's convenient to get to if you're in the area. And to be honest, convenience is kinda important for me. The so-so: Overall, the pho was just okay. The broth and noodles weren't terrible, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get pho here. The bad: There were a few things. The meat was all clumped together and it was difficult to tell what was what (I got different cuts of meat). The one server was hidden behind a recessed counter, so when you walk in, you aren't seen and won't get seated unless you walk through the restaurant to let them see you. Which, no big deal, but the restaurant was pretty empty when I was there, and still, aside from bringing my food, the server didn't really do anything. Didn't seat me, didn't add water to emptying cup, didn't bring my bill. Oh, they did give me a menu, so there was that. It felt like bare minimum service. They had a banh mi deal that was for to go orders only--I asked if I could add it to my bill and just take it to go. Server said no. Not sure why. I guess because it was only for completely to go orders, and I had eaten something at the restaurant? The server just said I would have to place a new order (that was to go) in order to get the deal. After a long day at Universal Studios, we decided to get some Pho before going back to the hotel in Glendale. Most of the pho restaurants in Chinatown close early except this one near our hotel open until 10PM. There's no parking on the street, only in the back and we do have to pay for parking, quite hard to find a space since it's dinner time. There's rear entrance so it's easier than going around to the front restaurant. The restaurant is simple and clean, 2 seating area divided by a wall, we got to sit in the back. The service is nice and attentive. The prices are as high as in the Bay Area but it's OK until the food came out. I ordered Pho with flank, tendon and brisket, my daughter likes tripes and steak, my wife ordered the special and my son ordered his favorite bo luc lac (shaken beef with rice). One thing I dislike VN restaurants is on a slow day, they try to save money by skimming the meats, flank beef were all broken pieces due to over cooked and cut too thin, these should be thrown away but they stuff it on my bowl. My daughter was shaking her head, she found 3 little string of tripes. I ordered the large bowl and there are only a few pieces of meat, broken flank and over cooked tendon. My wife special bowl somehow she had some meats. My son got away with shaken beef which is sweet and not to bad, but when I asked if you would come back here again for this, he said no. The pho broth is actually good, lots of veggies, everything is fine except the kitchen dispersing meat badly. To me, any restaurant that's skimming a few cents for meats should not be in business. Located off a busy intersection in Glendale, you can find public parking behind the restaurant for $1.50 an hour. There's also a back door entrance from the parking lot so you don't have to go all the way back to the front. I ordered one of my favorite go-to's from any Vietnamese restaurant, a vermicelli bowl with grilled pork, shredded carrots/cucumber, scallions, and egg rolls. Very generous amount of food packed into the bowl I had. I actually had my doubts about being able to finish it all! Food was delicious and priced very fair for what you get.
