Genuinely had the best time here! I LOVE Korean food, and I love trying new restaurants. We ordered the chicken curry katsu, garlic suyuk, spicy beef soondubu, steamed dumplings, and rose tteokboki. Everything was delicious, but my favorite has the to be the rose tteokboki. It was flavorful and sooo creamy! I went with three of my friends, and we were so full and happy with our order. The restaurant, while on the smaller side, had a cozy atmosphere and great lighting. The staff were also super friendly and accommodating. This is definitely a place I'll come back to! We had a great experience at Jin Cook! We came later in the evening, around 8 PM, and even though it was packed, we only waited about 10 minutes for a table. We ordered three dishes to share. The spicy dumplings were the standout--they were absolutely delicious. The spicy chicken had great flavor but was a bit too spicy for our taste. The bulgogi stone pot was excellent, flavorful, and generously portioned--large enough for two people to share comfortably, and we even had leftovers to take home. Of course, at a Korean restaurant, the banchan (side dishes) can make or break the meal. Jin Cook's banchan was fresh, tasty, and complemented the main dishes perfectly. They were also very generous with refills--whenever we ran out of a side dish, they happily brought us more without hesitation, which we really appreciated. The friendly service, delicious food, generous portions, and excellent banchan made this a wonderful dining experience. Parking along Brand street could get crazy, restaurant size was about 12-14 tables, good spacing between table so you don't hear other convo, tv was on for World Cup, nice space very clean. The food here is excellent. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and the homemade kimchi was one of the best parts of the meal. Unfortunately, the service completely changed the experience. We arrived around 5:00 PM, 6/27/26, and were still enjoying our meal when one of the Asian female servers, who had limited English with heavy accent, came over, mentioned something about closing, and immediately handed us the check and left. We were confused because we were clearly still eating. We asked another server what was going on, and he explained they were closing out the lunch register to prepare for dinner service. I guess the restaurants have shift changes (?), but bringing customers the bill and asking us to pay while we're still in the middle of eating is not the right way to handle it. There has to be a better system that doesn't make guests feel rushed or as if they're being asked to leave. I enjoy coming to this restaurant when I'm around Glendale - great taste and reliable quality. Take note of parking if you're coming for the first time. There are several public parking lots in the area, they tend to fill up on the weekends so you may have to navigate several before finding a spot. The restaurant itself is a charming spot. The decor is an homage to the Joseon era, I love the detail they put into each element right down to the paintings on the wall. It does stay busy on the weekends but I've never had to wait longer than 45 minutes for a small party. Food is also really good! I love the quality of their kimchi and other banchan. It's fresh, flavorful, and the perfect amount of spicy. Their food leans more classics/comfort and everything I've tried so far has been yummy. This Korean casual dining spot creates a cozy atmosphere with its rustic decor and assorted menu, from tofu soup to hot stone pot. The starting complimentary appetizers came with spinach, radish, cabbage, and kimchi. Kimchi was milder in the vinegar flavor with adequate taste. We ordered the bulgogi hot stone pot, kimchi pancake, and tofu soup. The bulgogi stone pot tasted flat. While I still enjoyed it, I think I would've appreciated a stronger marinade. I also ordered it with cheese, when given the options a fried egg is probably best. The kimchi pancake was crisp and paired with a sesame chili oil sauce. The sauce didn't seem to enhance the flavors of the pancake, but I solely enjoyed it. The tofu soup broth was cozy and the spice and flavor was mild. We stopped by Jin Cook on a Sunday afternoon for an early dinner, at around 5pm. It took less than 5 minutes to get a table but we did end up at a tiny 2 top. Lucky for us our table was against the bench wall so we were able to put stuff like the acrylic drink menu and napkin box on the seat, else we wouldn't have had enough room for our food items. I got the Garlic Suyuk (half order) and my partner got the Bulgogi Stone Plate. For beverages, I got the Sikhye while my partner went for the 5 berry flavored "Koreanade." Though there was only 2 of us at our table, it took a good 10 minutes before our drinks came out. Shortly after that, ONE of our dishes came out about and then about 5 to 10 min after that, our second dish came out. This was weird (to me) because there were only 2 of us. I kind of get this sort of happens with large parties--foods don't all arrive at the same time--but when there's only 2 of us? Anyway, the bulgogi was decent but it also tasted a little dry. The Suyuk I really liked its flavor and would have liked to have eaten with rice but it came with nothing but scallions (and the menu oddly didn't seem to list rice as a side for purchase). The Sikhye was pretty sweet but not as sweet as the 5-Berry Koreanade (which I thought was overly sugary). The banchan was limited to 4 dishes: kimchi, spinach, onions and radishes. The initial serving came with barely anything but perhaps this is so it's not wasted if not eaten? We got 1 refill on the "sides" and those servings came with a reasonable amount. As we ate, the waiting area filled up a LOT so this place would probably have a wait had we not come at an "off time." Overall, we enjoyed our meal and would come back in the future to try their other dishes. We do enjoy Korean food and have been hard pressed to find good Korean food in the area. read more

Love this spot for when we're craving braised short ribs but don't feel like driving far. IT ALWAYS HITS. They offer both spicy and non-spicy versions, and you can add cheese (which you absolutely should). It's perfect for 2-3 people, super tender, and literally falls off the bone every time. I've also tried their brisket hot stone and they're generous with the portion. The staff is always attentive and friendly, and the restaurant itself has a beautiful Korean-inspired design. Jin Cook is a solid spot to satisfy those Korean food cravings. On this visit, I had their Kalbitang which had a modest portion of beef and noodles though a good bowl of rice. Side dishes can be refilled, and their kimchi specifically is one of my favorites. (Good sides = good meal) One of my friends had their Chicken Katsu Curry, and it was a good thick sauce with some thin slices of chicken. At first, it looked plentiful, but once you dig your spoon in, you'll realize the dish really isn't that deep. Outside of food, service was present until we received our food - then absent. However, the darker brown interior here makes the eating experience more enjoyable. My favorite is the contrast with lighting especially for food pictures. It's also very pricey for the portions given so keep that in mind. We visited on Wednesday for dinner and there were several open tables. The staff were very nice and quick to serve us and the restaurant was clean and quiet. We ordered the bulgogi stone pot and sulungtang (beef soup). The sulungtang came already seasoned so that was surprising as it's usually served without the added salt. I find it hard to want to eat in this area because paying for parking is extremely unappealing to me and the food is already expensive. We parked in the back lot behind the goodwill and paid around $4.50 for 2 hours. Parking on the street can get more expensive than that. Dare I say the best galbi-jim in town?! There's a bit of a wait on weekend nights but it's definitely worth it. Service is amazing and the food is delicious. The menu has a good amount of options and I recommend going with the best sellers. Their galbi-jim (braised beef short rib) is perfect for 2-3 people and it comes with potatoes, rice cakes, pumpkin, carrots, onions, and green onions with two bowls of rice. For two people we had plenty of leftovers. The meat is tender and falls off the bone. I've been to Sun Nong Dan and sometimes I feel like it's a bit too salty for me but Jin Cook's marinade was just right. We went with the level two spicy and next time I think I'll go with level three spicy since I love spicy. We also got some highballs and those were pretty good value. I'll be back to try the spicy tofu stew and chicken katsu! They also have jalapeno bulgogi poppers which sounds pretty interesting. Visited Jin Cook in Glendale today for some authentic korean soul food. Upon entering the store we noticed all the authentic decor at the entrance. The restaurant had a good amount of tables and we were seated immediately. Shortly after it began to fill up and it was a full house. My friends and I ordered the braised beef short ribs (galbi jjim), seafood pancake, chicken noodle soup (kal guk soo), steamed dumplings and brisket hot stone. The braised short rib was tender and fall off the bone. The onions, rice cake, pumpkin and potato were soft and soaked up all the sauce that it came with giving us a punch of flavor with every bite. Would recommend eating it with rice to not waste any sauce. The cheese was evenly distributed on top and torched at the table. The seafood pancake had crispy edges and chunks of seafood in every bite. The steamed dumplings were pretty standard with the pork filling. I liked how thin the wrapper was and meat was flavorful. The chicken noodle soup was perfect for the chilly day we had. It was nice and warm which helped warm up our stomach before the meal. The noodles were nice and chewy while chicken was shredded and soft. The brisket hot stone reminded us of a gyudon. The meat was flavorful and the garnishes it came with gave it plenty of texture and depth. The staff was attentive and came around to check in on us. They refilled our waters and brought us more of the banchan. The sides included kimchi, radish, spinach and pickled onions which accompanied the meal well. It paired nicely with the chives and garlic sauce. Great portion size too. Sweet potato cheese curry katsu (5/5): This was sweet potato puree with cheese stuffed in a pork katsu. It was served with rice and curry in a hot stone. This is definitely a must try. The cheese wasn't too overpowering and the katsu paired well with the curry. The potato made everything creamy and gave a good texture balance with the katsu. Army stew (4/5): It included instant ramen noodles, rice cakes, sausage, spam, ham, kimchi, and cheese. It could've been more spicy. Everything was yummy! I would definitely come back. There is a large menu so it'll suite groups well. Portions were great. We informed her yes at your Santa Monica location and we weren't aware you had a location in Glendale so we thought we'd try your location out. We ordered our favorites, Rose Tteokbokki, Brisket Hot Stone and Bulgogi Hot Stone. They were all steaming hot and delicious. The servings are always plentiful. The meals are all flavorful. Rose Tteokbokki has just the right amount of spice. Brisket Hot Stone, the beef was so tender. Bulgogi beef was also good as it wasn't over marinated.
