Hotteok
Kim B.

I went with my boyfriend last night and the place seemed really busy so the wait was pretty long. With the long wait it was pretty worth it because it was my boyfriend's first time going to JinCook and he enjoyed his food and drink. I also enjoyed mine! He got beef bulgogi in a hot stone with cheese and egg. The cheese and egg was an add on for an extra couple of dollars but it made the food soooo much better! I ordered an Army Stew that I always order and it was filled with sausages, kimchi, ramen noodle, rice cakes, beans, bacon, and spam! It was so good with rice and since it was a rainy day yesterday, it was perfect. The place is clean and nice. It has a very cozy feeling. The banchan is yummy but they only serve a little at a time but I was able to ask for more and they were more than happy to give me some. We finished the night with two Hotteoks, and it was so good! It was warm, nutty, and it had a chocolate drizzle on top. The server made sure to ask us for any allergies when we ordered it which I really appreciated. It was a good dinner and we would definitely come back again!

Food: 4/5 Food was good. Looking back, I would have gone really spicy for the short ribs order. Side dishes were small but really tasty. Curry and pork ktsu were all delicious! Service: 3/5 Team is nice, a bit on the slow side. Not a big fan of having one Entree come out and the next entree talking 15 mins to show up. Ambiance: 4/5 Small but very nicely decorated. Love the style.

I love coming here! My girlfriend is Korean and loves this place as well saying it's very authentic! We usually stop by at least once a month I'd say! Food 5/5 I love their Galbi ribs and I also love getting the Galbi soup! Especially during cold weather or if I'm not feeling too well. Always hits the spot. Service 5/5 Servers are attentive and kind. No complaints at all. Ambiance 5/5 A nice smaller local spot. Nothing fancy. But clean and well maintained. A great quick spot to grab delicious lunch or dinner I love Jin cook. Will always keep going back

LA Galbi (Korean BBQ Rib)

We went kinda close to closing time (sorry!) but the staff was still accommodating. Food came out quick and hot. The galbi was tender and I liked that there wasn't much fat on it. Tteokbeokki was flavorful, not too spicy. We also had seollung tang which was good too. Only thing is they don't give extra banchan but still worth going for the food

Came here for dinner with my parents and had such a great experience!! They have three locations and we picked the one closest to our house. We ordered the Braised Beef Short Rib, Spicy Tofu Stew, Korean BBQ Short Rib, and Curry Katsu Pork!' The braised short rib was my favorite--super tender, flavorful, and served with vegetables that soaked up all the delicious broth. The carrots and pumpkins were so good!! The spicy tofu stew was rich and comforting with a nice kick! I have to say Korean spicy tofu stew has always been my comfort food haha Friendly service, generous portions, and a cozy atmosphere!!

The food here is excellent. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and the homemade kimchi was one of the best parts of the meal. Unfortunately, the service completely changed the experience. We arrived around 5:00 PM, 6/27/26, and were still enjoying our meal when one of the Asian female servers, who had limited English with heavy accent, came over, mentioned something about closing, and immediately handed us the check and left. We were confused because we were clearly still eating. We asked another server what was going on, and he explained they were closing out the lunch register to prepare for dinner service. I guess the restaurants have shift changes (?), but bringing customers the bill and asking us to pay while we're still in the middle of eating is not the right way to handle it. There has to be a better system that doesn't make guests feel rushed or as if they're being asked to leave. The food deserves 5 stars, but the service and the restaurant's register-closing process deserve 1 star. Great kitchen, disappointing customer experience.

The tofu stew, fried chicken and seafood pancake are all great dishes. Banchans are pretty good. I like to spiciness if you like spicy food. I ordered extra hot! My server was very attentive and nice. I like that they open late. Restaurants around this are usually close around 9 or 10pm. Cozy ambiance. The space is small so if you have a big group, then you should call for reservations if they take it.

Braised Beef Short Rib (Galbi-Jjim)

Don't really eat Korean food so I had to pop in. I got this braised beef concoction with cheese to go with it. We made the mistake of getting spicy. Anyway it was on the spicy side, but besides that you get the cheese, beef, veggies and rice and the combo of that was solid. Quality beef with veggies sautéed mixed with the cheese gives an extra little burst of flavor. Overall something different for me but I enjoyed and will return in colder weather. Braised Beef Short Rib Platter: 7.9

I came back to try the chicken cold noodles called chogye. I've never had chogye in my life and it was interesting and good. Do I prefer chogye to mool naengmyeon? No, but I don't hate chogye, it was a good overall experience. Much better than the chicken bibim naengmyeon I had last time.

I enjoy coming to this restaurant when I'm around Glendale - great taste and reliable quality. Take note of parking if you're coming for the first time. There are several public parking lots in the area, they tend to fill up on the weekends so you may have to navigate several before finding a spot. The restaurant itself is a charming spot. The decor is an homage to the Joseon era, I love the detail they put into each element right down to the paintings on the wall. It does stay busy on the weekends but I've never had to wait longer than 45 minutes for a small party. Food is also really good! I love the quality of their kimchi and other banchan. It's fresh, flavorful, and the perfect amount of spicy. Their food leans more classics/comfort and everything I've tried so far has been yummy. Tried the curries, hot stone bibimbap, Korean-style pancakes (e.g., kimchi), and stews. Everything is also quite clean which I appreciate. Will come again when I'm back in the area!

Sikhye

We stopped by Jin Cook on a Sunday afternoon for an early dinner, at around 5pm. It took less than 5 minutes to get a table but we did end up at a tiny 2 top. Lucky for us our table was against the bench wall so we were able to put stuff like the acrylic drink menu and napkin box on the seat, else we wouldn't have had enough room for our food items. I got the Garlic Suyuk (half order) and my partner got the Bulgogi Stone Plate. For beverages, I got the Sikhye while my partner went for the 5 berry flavored "Koreanade." Though there was only 2 of us at our table, it took a good 10 minutes before our drinks came out. Shortly after that, ONE of our dishes came out about and then about 5 to 10 min after that, our second dish came out. This was weird (to me) because there were only 2 of us. I kind of get this sort of happens with large parties--foods don't all arrive at the same time--but when there's only 2 of us? Anyway, the bulgogi was decent but it also tasted a little dry. The Suyuk I really liked its flavor and would have liked to have eaten with rice but it came with nothing but scallions (and the menu oddly didn't seem to list rice as a side for purchase). The Sikhye was pretty sweet but not as sweet as the 5-Berry Koreanade (which I thought was overly sugary). The banchan was limited to 4 dishes: kimchi, spinach, onions and radishes. The initial serving came with barely anything but perhaps this is so it's not wasted if not eaten? We got 1 refill on the "sides" and those servings came with a reasonable amount. As we ate, the waiting area filled up a LOT so this place would probably have a wait had we not come at an "off time." Overall, we enjoyed our meal and would come back in the future to try their other dishes. We do enjoy Korean food and have been hard pressed to find good Korean food in the area.

Bulgogi hot stone

We had a great experience at Jin Cook! We came later in the evening, around 8 PM, and even though it was packed, we only waited about 10 minutes for a table. We ordered three dishes to share. The spicy dumplings were the standout--they were absolutely delicious. The spicy chicken had great flavor but was a bit too spicy for our taste. The bulgogi stone pot was excellent, flavorful, and generously portioned--large enough for two people to share comfortably, and we even had leftovers to take home. Of course, at a Korean restaurant, the banchan (side dishes) can make or break the meal. Jin Cook's banchan was fresh, tasty, and complemented the main dishes perfectly. They were also very generous with refills--whenever we ran out of a side dish, they happily brought us more without hesitation, which we really appreciated. The friendly service, delicious food, generous portions, and excellent banchan made this a wonderful dining experience. Parking along Brand street could get crazy, restaurant size was about 12-14 tables, good spacing between table so you don't hear other convo, tv was on for World Cup, nice space very clean. We'll definitely be back!

Braised Beef Short Rib (Galbi-Jjim)

Love this spot for when we're craving braised short ribs but don't feel like driving far. IT ALWAYS HITS. They offer both spicy and non-spicy versions, and you can add cheese (which you absolutely should). It's perfect for 2-3 people, super tender, and literally falls off the bone every time. I've also tried their brisket hot stone and they're generous with the portion. The staff is always attentive and friendly, and the restaurant itself has a beautiful Korean-inspired design. It's consistently clean and just a really comfortable place to enjoy a good meal. Just a heads up: the line can get pretty long on weekends, but honestly, it's worth the wait!

Love the ambience of this place!

Need reservation for dine in?

no. walk ins are very welcome

Is the meat halal?

No it is not

I am allergic to nightshades (tomatoes, potatoes, eggplant, peppers including red pepper spices). Are there options here that would be safe for me to enjoy?

Honestly, if you have severe allergies, this is a bad place to go. Most things will have gochugaru, which is korean red pepper, and the majority of the dishes are spicy. The dishes not super spicy, like the katsu curry, may have potato in the curry,…

Do they have a parking lot?

They have metered parking on Brand.

Are they currently dine in?

Hello Gabriel, Yes we are open for dine in!…

Do you offer any vegan main courses?

They don't but you can make the stone Bimbimbop vegan by removing the kimchi and egg. You can substitute the kimchi for mushrooms.

Could you consider making kimbap for your takeout menu? And jajangmyeon. Please and thank you!

I also want jajanmeyong but I dont see it here. Let me know if u find in Glendale

Are they still open? No one answers the phone.

We've only done delivery recently, not sure about actual dining

Do they have vegan options?

Although some mention the ddubotki, it's actually NOT vegan because it comes with fish cakes. Make sure the japchae doesn't have meat because traditionally it has bulgogi... you can order the stone bimbimbop without kimchi (which is made with fish…

Do they have bibimbap?

No they do not. There is a picture of the menu.

This place is basic, nothing fancy and there's really no ambiance or special feelings associated with it - it's just an old-looking sit-down and serve establishment. What? Why does a plate of Chicken Teriyaki cost so much? And why $3 for a can of coke? I just cannot wrap my head around it. This isn't a fancy restaurant at all! In fact, it's as basic as it gets with no ambiance or warmth. I cannot recommend this place at all. The food was pretty poor and nowhere near on par with classy eats that try to reach that $$ figure. Montrose is certainly a place where there are people with money and no taste...looking for reasons to spend it willy-nilly. I thought I took a photo of the plate when I got home. Guess not. Avoid if you aren't made of money and prefer well-prepared meals, not quick, mushy fast-foodish stuff.
