I was not expecting much, and this place exceeded my expectations with not only a large variety of options for almost any diet but some unique flavors I haven't seen before in onigiri or musubi. I visited near end of day, so options were limited. I was glad to taste that even though these were not necessarily fresh from earlier in the day it was still a really enjoyable flavor experience and very well made with no crumbling making it easy to eat on the go. If you're seeking onigiri or musubi, or even just a quick bite that is small but filling, I definitely recommend a stop in! There is also some unassuming seating available, if you want to just sit and enjoy vs take for the road or save for later.

I have been here twice now and each time try the rice balls. We got 5 rice balls this time. We placed the order online for pickup and it was ready when we got there. Overall inside had Air conditioning, not the best, but there is not too much seating inside so not expecting people to stay too long, its okay as we got it togo. The 5 rice balls we got were, Tuna, Crab meat, Spicy pork, Beef and Tamago Yaki. Overall the Tuna and Crab meat were excellent. Great flavor, while not overwhelmingly strong. The spicy pork and beef were mediocre, they did give alot of meat on both but i felt that the spice was overpowering the rice. The Tamago was super bland with little to no flavoring. I put some of the extra spicy pork/beef on the tamago and was way better. Will come back to try out the other options.

Gam tu bop is a takeout restaurant with a focus on rice balls. They are around $3.50-5, very affordable lunch option in Glendale area. The turnaround for an order is very fast as well. I've never waited more than 10 minutes. Food: my favorite is the Tamago yaki which it so soft and tasty 5/5. The spicy tuna hand roll is yummy as well 5/5. The baked salmon rice ball is always perfectly cooked 5/5.

I can't believe I did not know about this place sooner. The rice balls are something I have been looking for since my trip to Japan and this place hits the spot. Each rice ball is between $3-$4 dollars. My favorite was the salmon but you could not go wrong with any of them. No place to sit inside but you can order online. Will definitely be back to try the other flavors.

Reasonably price onigiri in my town? Yes please! This place is a hidden gem and I'm so glad I was introduced to it. I've now been here three times in the last two months, it's that good. I recommend the tofu, the salmon, the tuna and the kimchi. And I always get a misubi for the next morning. Plus it comes with a seaweed wrap on the side. If you're in the area, you have to try this place! Just a heads up, there's no indoor seating. It's takeaway only.

I have bought here consistently for the last 3 years ordering the two same things the tamago yaki and tofu rice balls, they are my guilty pleasure my comfort food my everything. Brought my friend here for the first time after hyping it up for MONTHS gushing over how this is my favorite place. to my disappointment and horror the only two things I love here have been turned into COLD hand rolls. No flavor , barely any rice , cold dry , you can't taste it at all I'm heartbroken The service is also terrible, To make things worse as rolls are grab and go food and I watched as the cashier took our order , and then stood around for fifteen minutes before grabbing them from the fridge and putting them in a bag. No sense of urgency or getting orders out. Waited fifteen minutes for something I could have opened the door for and grabbed myself even . I used to come here order in person and get my order within a handful of minutes and that was with balls that needed to be prepped, what is going on ???? Service ??? What happened ?? disappointed is an understatement. It's been fun. Goodbye Gam Tu Bop .

It's a small little shop that is take away only, no indoor dining. There are couple chairs for the waiting area. The service was quick and the guy taking the order was very nice. I tried the beef, kimchi, and tuna rice balls. The order came out hot and super fresh with a side of seaweed that you can use it as a wrap/holder of the rice balls so they don't fall apart as easily. They were all pretty flavorful and yummy but I wish the beef and the kimchi rice balls were a bit less sweet. The tuna rice ball was canned tuna with mayo. It's a nice place to grab a quick bite!

It's super clean but without feeling steril. When we sat down, we noticed a nice woman with her mom who was celebrating her 95th birthday and we sat next to them. They were both very sweet and mentioned the items they got and how good everything was. We basically mirrored their dishes and were not disappointed by our choices. Generally, when you're at a Thai restaurant, you can't go wrong when you take advantage of suggestions given to you by two beautiful Thai people. We started off with an appetizer called "Gold Rush" which are 6 crispy, yet chewy wontons that are cooked until golden and then the dipping sauce was a tangy soy vinaigrette which I initially wished had not been taken away with our plates when we were done but any concern I had was soon forgotten when the other dishes came out because everything was so well seasoned that I never once thought, "I wish I still had some of that dipping sauce". We ordered the Laab Chicken which I always crave because so many Thai restaurants don't serve it. But Spice Season offers it and that might have been my favorite dish. I always order it without the rice powder because I don't like the powdery ground rice. I think it's a distraction from everything else in the dish. Our server didn't blink an eye when I asked that it not be included. Next, we ordered the Pad Thai. It was delicious. The noodles are thinner rice noodles (like angel hair) than what I have typically experienced (more like the size of linguini) but I loved the dish overall, would not change a thing and will definitely order it again. Blazing Basil Beef was the next dish that came out. The beef was super tender that night but it did not heat up well the next day. It got tough, even though I heated it up using a very low microwave power setting. This was in no way a reflection on how they cooked this dish because it was perfect when it came out. I will try the Heaven Scent next time or Spice Season Steak in lieu of Blazing Basil but that is not to say I would never order it again - far from it - but we are excited to try other dishes as I have noted further below. Rounded everything out with the Pineapple Fried Rice which I crave just as much as Laab but I'm usually nervous to try it because so many times the rice doesn't have any flavor, or not enough pineapple juice but not the case here! It was delicious! D'oh! I forgot to mention the Matcha Cheesecake which was heavenly. It took me several days to finish that off and unlike the Blazing Basil, it held up fantastically in the fridge for the next few days which is how long it took me to finish it off. Honestly, everything we tried was incredibly fresh, bursting with different flavors and cooked the way we enjoy our Thai food. We were not rushed, and the person who took our order said that we had ordered plenty of food which I appreciated - we do tend to over-order but that's because we eat the leftovers but I thought it was nice that she gave me the "that's probably enough" sign. Last thing I will mention just to help others on the spicy scale, we love our Thai food spicy. I read some reviews where people said the food was not spicy enough. We told our server that we like spicy and that we would leave it up to her - she said that everything would be a 4 out of 5 on the spice scale and while it was perfect for me, my husband thought it was just a tad too spicy but I think he's just out of practice. ;) We will probably go with 3 out of 5 next time, unless I'm alone. Then I would go back to 4 on the spice scale! I'm excited to try the Papaya Salad, Lime Steak Salad, Tom-Yum Fried Rice, Heaven Scent, and Lemongrass Soup. They definitely have a wide variety of food offerings, including things I've never heard of or seen. Something for everyone!

Although her tone already made me uncomfortable, I still politely followed up and asked whether it was made with coconut milk or regular milk. She then replied, "Right, it's coconut milk." Food allergy questions are never "stupid questions," and I believe most customers would appreciate a restaurant where servers can answer them with basic patience and professionalism instead of attitude.
