I was anticipating this spot because of the reviews and a co worker recommended it to me saying this place is bussin. If you ordered chicken teriyaki with rice and noodles you expect it to come with the veggies. No wonder the chow mein tasted bland the chicken was over cooked and dry. I also ordered an extra large but wow that ain't no extra large to me. I thought I was tripping I went to see their menu and post on yelp chow mein comes with veggies lol not mine I guess. I only give 1 star to that spicy sauce but other than that this place deserves no stars. Stop the cap with the 5 star reviews. Service was mid thank you for not doing your customers right. My family and I frequently bought take-out from this restaurant since I was in middle school! Such a great hole in the wall, small and local business. Staff are kind and oftentimes only 1-2 there throughout the day. It's comfort food that tastes yum and is affordable. Definitely worth the try. The chow mein was completely tasteless, so I'm glad I skipped that on my Galbi plate. I got all rice, the galbi meat and sauce. The teriyaki here is that really thick super sweet kind. Not my favorite, but if that's your jam, this may be the place for you. The meat was kind of all over the place - some pieces tough, some delightfully tender, none easy to remove from the bone. I enjoy the fattiness of this cut, so that was a plus for me. My partner got the Bulgogi plate and was pretty unhappy with all of it, since the noodles were flavorless and overcooked, and the meat was also tough and unappetizing. Service was perfectly nice for a fast food sort of joint. They answered our questions and accommodated my request for all rice without any issues. The space is not a very inviting place to eat. It's a little loud and very cramped, like sitting in a hallway, so take your food to go! There is a nice park just east down Maple with tables to enjoy, so I recommend that. read more

My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for years! This is a great small-business that takes care of their customers and has great quality food. A perfect lunch meal with the huge portions that are provided. Take note that orders take about 15 minutes to prepare because food is cooked to order, best to call in advance. The staff is very friendly and while the place is a little small, sitting by yourself or with another will not be a problem. Best place to get a Teriyaki bowl! I always order the #12 which is the kbbq bulgogi plate. It comes mixed in with chow mein. Also a side of rice and kimchi! I grew up in Glendale and my wife actually introduce me to Mitzee Cafe ( which I believe is the original owners name ) for the last 20 plus years the the food does not chance flavor or presentation. Whomever takes care of you whether it's your Chef ( AKA your Cook ) or someone else it's always the same treatment, pleasant and welcoming. It's a small place so the ambient it's very cozy. My all time favorite it's the chicken teriyaki plate, I can't tell you enough to be very careful with their hot sauce. I love spicy but this hot sauce it's a different level so be ready if you dare please DO IT! We leave in Downtown LA now and we always make little trips to go get Mitzee, your Chef has been there as long as I know this place he never changes and always remembers long time and repeated customers. This is a great hole in the wall joint! I never knew it was even in Glendale until I looked for teriyaki chicken one day. The prices were definitely great for the quantity of food that you get. My only tidbit is that there's a lot of teriyaki sauce that's dowsed in the chicken and beef. They have two different sizes. One is a regular and the other one is a large. The regular is huge and overfilled So I can't even imagine how the large will look. I think next time they go here, I'll ask for the teriyaki sauce on the side because it was even in my noodles so my whole plate was sweet overall.
