If you're looking for cool vibes and a full-on sensory trip, check out Gong Gan. Warning: coming here may send you into a mild hallucination from all the funky aesthetic decor and wildly creative menu designs Literally every drink comes out looking exactly like the illustrations on the menu. I ordered the Matchest, their ceremonial matcha topped with matcha cream, while my friend got the meringue affogato purely for the vibes. The bright blue drink instantly reminded me of the Smurfs -- so cute (sorry Gen-Zers, you probably won't get the reference lol). This is definitely one of those fun spots to hang out, yap with your friends, and take a million photos. The drinks are rich and definitely on the sweeter side, so I probably wouldn't come all the time, but for a little dopamine boost and a quirky café experience, it's absolutely worth checking out.

Corn latte

Butter latte (butterscotch) - lovely butterscotch flavor cream top. Sweet, but not sugary, so probably good even if you like things less sweet to begin with, like me! Corn Cream Latte - nice corn cream top. This tastes like cereal milk. Of you've ever had Magpie's corn cereal soft serve, it's reminiscent. Sunday morning cartoons in a cup also a very nice sweetness level! They have a pretty nice looking *all-day* brunch menu, so I'd come back to try that some time. Their waffle/French toast desserts also look pretty and decadent. This space is pretty big, interesting chairs, good sized tables, spaced out so you don't feel too close to other people. The light is nice in here, and there is plenty of natural light from the big front windows. The AC is strong. Bless. A pleasure on a hot day. They have two clean and functional restrooms. Service was personal, informative and quick!

Found this spot on a whim we were right next door and it did not disappoint. Decor was very whimsical and fun. We only tried their drinks can't say much about their food. Corn Cream -best corn latte I've had, creamy and not too sweet. Strong corn flavor shines through the espresso. Bits of dehydrated corn kernels added just the right amount of texture. Matchaest -matcha was just right and creamy. Solid matcha latte. Black Sesame Latte -opted to add espresso shot, coffee wasn't as strong as I'd like it to be. This drink might be better without the coffee added. Not the best I've had but not bad.

We were only able to stop by for some drinks this time, but we're definitely going to come back for the food and dessert. The inside of Gong Gan is decorated like a giant cute, kitschy gift shop. I was obsessed with the blue furry lamp and the giant disco bean. Even the restrooms were decorated very well! We ordered the Black Sesame Latte, Gong Gan Latte, Corn Cream, and Butter Latte. I was most excited to try the Black Sesame Latte and the Corn Cream, but I actually ended up loving the Butter Latte the most! Don't get me wrong - all the drinks here are absolutely amazing. But my favorite drinks of the day were the Butter Latte and the Black Sesame Latte. You could definitely taste the butter in the Butter Latte, and you could definitely taste the black sesame in the Black Sesame Latte. Unfortunately I couldn't really taste the corn flavor in the Corn Cream Latte. I can't wait to come back to try the food here!

Food/drinks: 3.5 Service: 3 Ambiance: 3.5 I specifically drove out to check out Gong Gan because I had heard good things, saw great reviews, and thought it looked really neat. I was especially curious to try the affogato. It is located in a small strip mall type area with limited parking, but they do provide reserved parking for their patrons which is listed on their website. I was lucky enough to find street parking and it was just a short walk over. I came on a Saturday evening and it was actually pretty quiet with just a few patrons inside and outside. Upon entering, it looked exactly like the photos on Yelp. Very artsy, but it did not wow me as much as I expected. The lady at the front greeted me, but service was just OK and not overly friendly. It was toward the end of the night, so maybe she was just tired. We ended up ordering a strawberry latte, the matcha affogato, and the pig bar croffle. We grabbed a seat and everything came out within a few minutes. The drinks were very pretty and aesthetic. I especially loved the layers of the strawberry latte and the matcha affogato looked beautiful as well. Unfortunately, the taste did not quite match the presentation. The strawberry latte just did not impress me, and the matcha affogato, while visually stunning, was just OK. The croffle, however, was the highlight for me. It was warm, gooey, and everything you would want in a warm dessert paired with something cold. I enjoyed that the most. Overall, I did enjoy checking this place out, but I would not go out of my way to come back. I would give it a strong 3.5 stars.

Matchaest and Gosu Ade

Am I the last one to hear about Cilantro-ade??? Yes you heard it right...a cilantro refresher. Imagine an iced limeade with fresh mint and hint of cilantro herb. Of course can't forget the decorative bunch of cilantro leaves that's soaked into the refresher. Don't be afraid, the cilantro isn't overpowering but it gives a perfect amount of herbal aroma. Highly highly recommend trying it. Soooooo delicious. They also have an assortment of matchas. Tried the matchest which has a creamy and buttery foam top. Very good. This cafe also serves brunch options including Croffles and French toast with various toppings you can choose from. Believe this is a Korean owned business so of course they'll have Korean breakfast choices. Tried the kimchee fried rice with a an egg sunny side up. Pretty good. Wish they added a little more kimchee to it (but I am Korean so I do enjoy a heavier kimchee flavoring). Overall cute and cozy cafe that brings you many breakfast and brunch options for you and all of your friends to choose from. A myriad of matchas, coffees, and refresher choices. Love this place and will definitely be coming back again.

Strawberry Latte

Great spot to hang out over snacks and drinks with very thoughtful interior decoration. Went here with friends in the morning to start the day and catch up. Limited street parking for the place, but it wasn't so bad as we went early in the morning. Interior has cozy vibes with nice tiny flourishes peppered throughout. The tasteful styling is present in the menu too! Very cute. Ambiance is great for a leisurely chit chat. Staff was great with recommendations and friendly. It took a while for everything to come out with only one person working in the morning, but each item looked like a lot of effort was put into it. Lots of table seating inside and a little amount of seating outside. I got a Strawberry Latte to start. Very creamy with rich strawberry flavor at the bottom. It definitely was more cream than anything else and ended up being very light in terms of actual drink to drink. I ordered a Gong Gan Latte in addition to it. The Latte is great with again, more cream and nice coffee flavor. One of my friends correctly noted that a lot of drinks here include some form of cream (visually appealing, but not great if you're not a cream fan). I had a Strawberry French Toast as a bite and it's best to be shared: the condensed milk sweetness was a lot, especially with sweet drinks. Nice spot! The prices are a little pricey if you're trying to just get a caffeine fix, but worth it for the visual flair and fun and effort put into entire experience.

Came here several times and this place is still super solid! One of the best Korean Coffee places in the area! Staff and service is incredibly friendly and helpful, and the concept and ambiance of the cafe itself is very unique and fitting for silverlake! Drinks are always solid and to die for! Parking of course is the hassle, but nevertheless a great cafe to hop to!

Corn Cream, Meringue Affogato

Spent my Valentine's Day at one of the coziest, most aesthetic café spots in LA Yelp reviewers always rave about the chill vibe, cute presentation, and creative menu -- and I get it now. What I ordered: Two Cream Corns -- unexpectedly SO good. Creamy, savory, lowkey addictive. Meringue Affogato -- sweet, airy, and that espresso pour? chef's kiss Perfect for a Valentine's date, Galentine's catch-up, or a solo self-love treat

Enjoying my honey coffee

Omg! This adorable café sits on Sunset and serves delicious bakery items, savory lunch/dinner entrees and one of a kind, specialty drinks and coffees. Like, why would you ever degrade your taste buds to a chain coffee shop when you can delight in Gong Gan. I popped my cherry with the Corn Cream coffee with extra espresso shot. Smooth finish, espresso left no bitter or burnt aftertaste, flavor profile was off the chain! I was beyond impressed. Reminded me of the coffee lollipops from See's Candies. I felt my body wake up! Today, I ordered the Honey coffee with oatmilk. Again, expertly crafted. Absolutely F'ing DELICIOUS. There are vibrant cinnamon notes through out. My mouth climaxed multiple times. Still enjoying my beverage..Trying not to down it all so I can savor the moment. My son ordered the cilantro drink and loved it so much, went and grabbed another. It was very refreshing. He also got the mango drink. I finished that one for him. Yes, I will be getting that in the near future. Don't sleep on this spot. I certainly will not. Enjoy!

Great vibes and decor! The sorbet and coffee was delicius. The cilantro drink was also fun.

Cilantro Lemonade

Tried the Matcha affogato, Matcha croffle, and cilantro lemonade here. I honestly didn't think I was going to like the cilantro lemonade at first, but after a couple sips it was actually super refreshing and surprisingly good. The Matcha affogato was definitely my favorite, really good flavor and something I'd order again. I wasn't a huge fan of the Matcha croffle since it didn't have a lot of flavor to me personally, but overall I still enjoyed my visit. I'd recommend Gong Gan to anyone wanting to try a unique and interesting lemonade!

This place is SO SO SO cute! They were so thoughtful and intentional with all the details including the décor, the furniture, and just overall the vibe, everything feels curated and perfect . The chairs were all unique and funky which made it so fun just to sit there, look around, and soak in the atmosphere. The menu is also really creative and unlike anything I've seen before absolutely adorable. All of the coffee we tried was great. I tasted my friends' drinks and they were delicious. I got the corn coffee and it was good but I'll just say to be careful with the cornbread on top it's a little dry and very chokeable lol. But the foam was very good One downside was that there was an item on the menu I really wanted to order but it was no longer available which was disappointing but I understand. I ended up getting the tuna toast instead and I personally wouldn't recommend it. it was basically straight tuna on very toasted bread, almost too toasted. I think even a little arugula or avocado on top would have made a big difference. For $10 I expected a lil more and it did come on a very small plate so it felt a bit underwhelming. My friend got the breakfast sandwich and that was really good and so were the potatoes. Overall, Gong Gan is a beautiful and thoughtfully designed space with good coffee and an amazing aesthetic. With just a few improvements to some of the food items and it could be truly perfect.

We didn't have reservations, but we were able to grab a table inside at around 5:30pm on a Saturday. This place was busy. I really liked the Hamachi Crudo. That was so good, but there's only 4 slices for about $21. It's dressed in a ponzu yuzu sauce. It was so good that we ended up pouring the left over sauce on to our Tuna Tostada. Both items were fresh and I could not taste any fishiness. We also ordered the Mushroom Risotto and Cacio e Pepe. I thought the risotto was good, but the rice was definitely undercooked. I would have said something, but we didn't have much time left. The pasta reminded me of Mac n Cheese. I thought it was way too salty and didn't really do it for me. Kind of disappointed in the mains, but the 2 apps were really good.
