I can't remember if this was a vanilla latte or caramel but either way, it was sufficient! I originally wanted their banana cream latte but they ran out of banana cream ): I like the space though! There's indoor and outdoor seating. There's wifi as well but it was down when I went.

French style brunch and cafe in KTown. The patio is lovely and great place for brunch or coffee. The lox bagel was perfect for brunch. The pasta and salad were also great. The service was great and the server was friendly. After brunch, we went to downstairs to H mart which was also perfect. Great location.

First timer! Friendly staff. Really cute shop with lots of seating both indoor and outdoor. Ordered the Vienna Latte and Banana Cream Latte. Both were very good.

Adorable hidden gem that I never knew existed despite having walked past here several times not to mention I've gone to this plaza on numerous occasions to for Korean desserts, groceries, and boba! It has the perfect elevation overlooking Western Ave with the Solar building directly across. It's in an urban setting but oddly feels very cozy. Ok, you probably want to know more about the food and drinks. Disclaimer: I only grabbed coffee here but the cold brew was PHENOMENAL. The menu said it's brewed for 18 hours. I believe that. I also believe you should stop by here if you're ever in the area.

Such a cute, clean, quiet patio for tipsy convos with $10 happy hour drinks

Hidden gem in ktown! I've been here for brunch & the weekend night happy hour and both were such a fun time. I loved their noodle salad & my friends really liked the fried rice. I love the cute outdoor patio vibe & how lowkey and intimate it is at night. Idk how they don't have more customers on weekend nights because they have happy hour drinks for $10, which is insane for LA. I loved this place so much I brought fiancé here to show him how great the happy hour menu is. My girlfriends and I met here on a Saturday night for a happy hour pregame before our next plans and it was such a vibe!! The workers are always super nice and quick with their service. Genuinely such a great little place. I want to gatekeep it but they deserve more hype.

I've always come here just for coffee, but this time I ordered food. The baguette was really fresh with a great texture. As always, I loved the modern interior and the clean, welcoming atmosphere. Also, all employees are super nice and kind!

When it comes to coffee, I have an overwhelming number of options. I do be living in Koreatown, after all. And I've been to many past versions(?) of cafés that took up this spot in the Madang mall... but only ever since it became Cafe Terrasse, I've returned three times, which intrigued me to finally leave a review. I think it's staying, which is good. I'm all for small businesses putting down roots and growing. A solid spot amid the Wilshire Western chaos. I like the airy interior and comfy chairs. It's nothing too grand, but it always seems to be blessed with natural lighting and soft music. And there's something healing about a cafe that's just comfortable enough, just bright enough, and just busy enough. I don't have a picture of it, because I'm always busy stuffing it in my mouth as soon as it comes out, but I adore their grilled cheese with tomato bisque. It's actually perfect for when you can't decide what you want for breakfast/brunch but need to put something in your stomach ASAP.

One of the best hang out spot and brunch spot in ktown! They got a beautiful interior design and outdoor sitting! Their food is also great and their shrimp pasta is a must order! Loved their service and kimchi fried rice too! They offer parking validation!

Café Terrasse in Ktown has a really unique charm. The interior immediately reminded me of Southeast Asian cafés with Korean influence; warm lighting, clean design, and bossa nova playing softly in the background. It's a great place to sit and chill; but if you're planning on staying a while with your laptop, just know they only have two outlets. I would imagine during finals week, this place gets packed and outlet access becomes almost impossible. Big shoutout to Sham; he answered the phone when we called ahead, and gave us standout service the entire visit. He knew the menu inside and out; gave really thoughtful recommendations with flavor notes and textures and even offered to validate our parking. You can tell he takes pride in the place and genuinely wants people to enjoy it, huge props to him. We tried the banana cream latte, which Sham said was one of their most popular. It lived up to the hype. First sip hits you with that classic banana flavor, almost like a candy note; but then the coffee comes through smoothly. The balance holds strong even after multiple sips; really flavorful and surprisingly well-crafted. We also got the hazelnut mocha cake, which comes as two mini slices. It was solid overall; moist and rich with a nice chocolate base; but the texture of the frosting felt more on the packaged side, and the mocha flavor was subtle. Not bad; just not as memorable as the drink. Parking's tricky, as usual in Ktown. You might be able to park in the H Mart side lot and get it validated; but it's still unclear if that's actually allowed. Just something to be aware of. Overall, Café Terrasse is worth checking out; especially for the drinks, atmosphere, and standout staff. Just maybe not the best choice if you're looking to camp out with a charger.

    Matcha latte with almond milk

Place was decent! Workers were really nice. As far as matcha go, I have tried better places but it is decent. It isn't one of those matcha drinks where it tastes all sugar and hardly any matcha. I do taste a bit of the earthiness of the matcha but it's subtle.

Came here with my sister mid-week for a little sister date of brunch and coffee and happened to find this cute little spot. It was early on Thursday so it's was easy to to get a table. This space is super cute and they have a great patio that is pet friendly. The service was friendly and prompt, but again it wasn't too busy at the time. The server also provided additional details, suggestions, and recommendations for coffee and food options. We ended up trying the banana cafe latte which was really tasty with subtle banana flavor, and not too sweet. The breakfast banh mi was a sleeper - with good flavors and textures, and the avocado toast was solid. Overall, it was a great experience, but I would have to come back when it's busier and see if anything changes.

    Yuzu Ade and Vienna Latte
    Therese G.

I stopped by Cafe Terrasse as I was in the plaza, and I had a great experience. Friendly staff, ample seating, and good drinks! Drinks: We had the yuzu ade and the Vienna latte. I appreciate that there is a dine-in option, as the drinks came in glass cups. The Vienna latte was not overly sweet, but it was hard to taste the coffee. I would not recommend this drink if you enjoy the taste of espresso, as it tasted more like milk. Regardless, it was very creamy, and the cream top was delicious. The yuzu ade was also great. The yuzu was very prominent, which I appreciated, and the carbonation was strong. Great refreshing drink when you need something light. Service/Ambiance: The location is great. It's located in the Madang Courtyard at a corner location, and there are other shops nearby. It's in a generally safe area, and there is security in the plaza. Additionally, there is ample indoor and outdoor seating. The workers were very nice. This is a good study spot, but there are not many outlets and more outside seating than inside seating. Parking is easy inside the garage and also validated for 2 hours at this store or any other store. Overall: When I'm shopping in the area and want a convenient drink, I would visit this shop to pick something up. They also have lots of food options, but I wasn't able to try any today. The drinks were good, but they didn't stand out to my friend or me compared to other places we've tried. However, I would come back to try and find a drink that I love since everything else about this place was 5-star worthy!

Had such a lovely brunch at Cafe Terrasse! The Banana Cream Latte was smooth and perfectly balanced, and the Dalgona Latte had the fluffiest foam ever. The Terrasse Banh Mi was fresh and flavorful, and the Cheese Kimchi Fried Rice was seriously addictive. We also loved the Avocado Toast and ended with the Taiyaki -- such a perfect sweet touch. Great vibes, cute space, and definitely a spot I'd come back to!

The sauce helped bring some juiciness back and balanced it out. The bluefin tuna bibimbap was pretty enjoyable. The tuna tasted fresh and the textures worked well together, but the dish could have used a little more seasoning to make the flavors pop. The perilla was a great touch though. It added a slightly minty flavor that complemented the tuna without taking over the dish. The beef short rib was easily the standout. PERFECTLY cooked, incredibly tender, and seasoned just right. The richness of the meat paired so well with the lettuce wraps that it almost feels like they should automatically come with the dish. Service was good and everything came out smoothly. The space is small, so you'll inevitably have your conversation interrupted by an alluring siren's call or some ceremonial rowers. This is a crucial part of the tiki experience for me. We decided to get a drink to celebrate Father's Day, only to strike out at the first two bars we tried--I guess a lot of places are closed at 9:30 on a Sunday. This is how we ended up at Thunderbolt, a buzzy bar in Echo Park, just far enough away that we'd never made our way over. I loved it immediately. Thunderbolt has the friendly, comfortable atmosphere of a neighborhood bar and the hip aesthetic and high-level cocktails of a millennial boozer destination. (Not that young people can't or shouldn't hang out here, but it seems especially geared toward people like us, who drank at Walker Inn a decade ago.) We ended up sitting next to a guy who regularly drives up from Palos Verdes. I guess the place gets pretty busy, but it was ideal on a Sunday night. Happening but not crowded, with just enough space at the bar for us to grab two seats together. The bartender was great, super helpful and welcoming. He also made excellent drinks. Thunderbolt is one of those bars with an encyclopedic illustrated book for a menu. Not a long menu, just a detailed one, with a lot of information available about each drink. We got a Liquid Picnic and a Barcelonnette--just one round to close out the weekend. Both were delicious. The Liquid Picnic was a smooth, savory gin martini made with London dry gin, tomato, citron, vermouth, rosemary, and black pepper. I learned from the book that it used clarified tomato water. (There was also further reading about the clarification process.) The Barcelonnette was a mezcal sour with Suze, passionfruit, and lime, the foam made without egg white through some geeky mixologist process. Thunderbolt is not our neighborhood bar, but we plan to go back when we can to check out the rest of the menu. It's a wonderful place, well worth a jaunt on the freeway.

It wasn't your typical corner haunt. There was an intentionality here that turned a simple evening out into a genuine education. The curation of spirits was nothing short of impressive, but what set the experience apart was the conversation. I arrived knowing the difference between a glass and a bottle, but left with a newfound appreciation for the nuances of rum, the craftsmanship behind a smooth whiskey, and the unexpected complexities hidden within a well-made vodka. Each pour came with a story, a history, and a level of expertise that transformed every sip into a lesson. The atmosphere was the perfect anchor for it all--utterly chill and devoid of the frantic, forced energy you find elsewhere. It was the kind of place where the music sits at just the right volume and the lighting invites you to actually linger. It was refreshing to find a spot that treats its craft with such respect while keeping the vibe completely grounded. I walked out feeling a little more cultured and a lot more relaxed. Consider this my official notice: I'll definitely be back.

From the moment you walk in, it feels like you've been transported somewhere else. Every room is thoughtfully designed, and the atmosphere is immersive and unlike anything we've experienced before. The storyteller was welcoming, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. I really enjoyed learning about the history of alcohol and the stories behind each tasting. The cocktails were definitely on the stronger side, but you could tell they were crafted with high-quality ingredients. Unfortunately, our experience was somewhat tainted by our hostess. She came across as impatient and unwelcoming, which set the tone early on. When we first entered, we were each handed a small glass of liquid, and then she immediately walked away without explaining what it was or what we were supposed to do with it. We assumed it was a welcome drink, so we all took a sip only to discover it was actually a palate cleanser. A little guidance would have gone a long way. The next room had a beautiful bayou-inspired setting. While the historical information was interesting, I found myself wishing the experience leaned more into the mystical or magical themes that the venue seems to promise. One thing worth mentioning is the restroom setup. I don't mind coed restrooms, but there was no signage explaining that the restroom is shared with two open stalls. Some guests may appreciate a heads-up, especially those who might feel uncomfortable or triggered by that arrangement. After the tastings, you're taken outside. A few of us stopped to use the restroom first, and when we returned, our friend had already left the table and all of our drinks had been cleared away. We were disappointed because we hadn't finished them. Our friend had been told she couldn't take the drinks with her, but when we returned we could take them outside. She was told that they'd be there when we got back. We were disappointed. The outdoor portion of the experience also felt a bit rushed. We barely had time to enjoy our drinks, let alone take photos of the beautiful space. The beignets at the end, however, were absolutely delicious and a highlight of the evening! Finally, we were escorted to the members-only bar, which was stunning. It gave off major Harry Potter vibes with its hidden, magical atmosphere. One of my friends was still finishing her drink on the patio since we couldn't legally walk on the sidewalk with it. Our hostess told us she'd come back for us but she never did. After waiting quite a while, another staff member happened to walk by and kindly helped us. Once inside, everything turned around again. The bartender was warm, friendly, and helped us choose drinks off the menu. I ordered the piña colada, and while it was much stronger and different from the traditional version I'm used to, it was absolutely delicious!!! Despite some service issues and inconsistent communication, I would still recommend Obscure. The concept is unique, the cocktails are excellent, and the venue is truly one of a kind. I'm hoping our hostess was simply having an off day, because with more attentive service, this experience could easily be five stars.
