I bought the matcha latte after trying the Handles matcha. I'm not a two drink person. That's how much I enjoyed the former. The sweet cream complemented the matcha, which was smooth. The vibes are quite nice, which makes it a good study/writing spot. Service was speedy, and I appreciated the baristas' advice this afternoon.
Yes, yes, yes!! To their housemade Cherry Latte! Cherry is one of my favorite fruits, and I haven't come across many coffee shops that incorporate it into their drinks and be able to execute the flavors. But Handles has delivered. Their expresso is bold and I love the cherry chunks you get with sips. They offer a minimalist interior with seating and a bold red color to match.
I've seen this coffee shop on tik tok a lot. I was in the area and decided to give it a try. I was bummed they didn't have the option for sugar free syrups. I got a vanilla almond milk latte. I would rate it 7/10. I think the portion control is wild lol. This is how my coffee was served...probably won't be going back. Not much interaction with baristas either.
I have been here many times before when it was still Camel. Heard it switched to Handles, but have not given it a try since. Decided to try it out yesterday. It wasn't as busy as before. The coffee quality went down. The cream top was somewhat the same, but the coffee itself changed. It had become more watery and had a bit of a sour taste to it. Just AINt the same...sad. Service was not the same. Not as great as before.
Came in on a Saturday morning right after they opened, and there were already so many people there, a great sign. We've been eyeing this spot for a while, and it's quickly becoming our new go to coffee shop in the neighborhood. The service was incredibly friendly and welcoming. There were only two people working, but everything moved smoothly and at a great pace. The aroma of fresh coffee filled the air the moment we walked in, adding to the cozy atmosphere. The space itself is charming, with both comfortable indoor seating and a great outdoor patio area. The couple in front of us recommended the Handles coffee, and it looked delicious, so that's definitely on my list for the next visit. So happy to have a new local coffee spot in the rotation. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu.

Finally got a chance to try this spot. I think the hype has definitely slowed down and there isn't such a big line at all times. The place is small with a few seating options so most people take it to go and the line goes by quickly. Seating also isn't very comfortable so I wouldn't recommend it for long stays or working. The staff is very friendly and seem to enjoy answering all your questions and making sure they make a drink you like. The menu is straightforward with the usual coffee menu but they do have a bit of specialties. We opted for an iced Vanilla Matcha and an iced Silver Lake Latte. -Vanilla Matcha: Great. Not overly sweet (how I like it). Balanced. Not too milky. A great matcha. -Silver Lake Latte: (espresso, milk, chocolate, orange). Another great option. This was too orange-y for me at the start, but the more you drank it, the more it made sense and it made for a bit of a refreshing latte. At the end there is an infused slice of orange waiting for you. It was a little treat. I would get this again. Also the drinks are smaller than the usual shops here in LA. It's not a problem, but I was sad that my drink was done after a few sips.
I came here for a morning coffee fix and was recommended to give them a try. Street metered parking is available, I didn't have trouble finding a parking spot right next to the shop and it was Sunday, so parking is free. I got the Silver Lake Latte ($6.25), which includes espresso, milk, chocolate, and orange. It was a tasty drink mix and I enjoyed it. I would come back to give more of their drinks a try!
Same owner as Camel, but rebranded itself just recently. It was our first time coming in and I love it. The green building really stands out and interior inside is hip and chic. There's also a second floor where you can sit down and relax or just study. The music playlist is chill and baristas are friendly. We ordered their signature Camel Coffee and the Camel Latte, both a 5/5. The cream on the coffee was foamy and creamy. The coffee was strong too to start off our morning. The Camel latte was delicious, I really like that hint of orange flavor, really adds a nice kick and sweetness. It was different and creative for sure. The flavor profile was on point. Wish they open a spot in OC because it was such a drive getting here. Still though, I recommend this spot to any coffee lovers out there. Would come back again! Mahalo!
10/10 matcha! I tend to get the regular matcha latte, but I recommend the Handles matcha too. Love that they use agave as their sweetener. The matcha is strong but not bitter. It's super hip and trendy--there's usually a line out the door especially on weekends. Service is quick though so don't let the line scare you. There are a few stools downstairs for seating and an intimate area upstairs with a few tables. Personally I don't like to work here because the tables are short and it's hard to get anything done. Great place to chat with friends though. Parking is metered on the main street or free in the neighborhood. Definitely read the signs though because it's permit only during certain hours. Check out their second location on Sunset in WeHo too!
What a cool coffee shop to come upon in the area! Their drinks are solid, you can tell the take great pride in making high quality tasting drinks (doesn't taste like a chan at all!). So yes, the line may get long, but don't fret as it moves quickly and it will be worth the wait. The upstairs is really cool too! There's a cool selfie camera to take some pics for you, there's a few seating areas with chairs and tables to get work done. It's the perfect ambiance for productivity, while being around some noise. I got a lot done and it was perfect with my yummy drink!
One of my go-to matcha spots in LA! The quality of the matcha is impeccable - you can actually taste it but it's not too bitter. And you can see it in the color of the drinks. Also 5/5 service always, everyone is so kind. The handles matcha and handles coffee are the perfect small little sweet treats made with sweet cream on top (vegan cream avail). Both phenomenal. I personally love the regular matcha latte (it comes unsweetened). The vanilla is really good too. **My ONLY comment is that the vanilla is never mixed in! It sits at the bottom and you have to mix it yourself with a straw but it never gets fully dispersed so the first few sips are always very vanilla heavy. That's my request plz & thank u Handles
Handles is such a staple for me, with delicious matcha and coffee. They also have yummy pastries if you need a snack. The ambiance is so aesthetic, and the second floor has a cute receipt paper instant photo printer! The Handles matcha is one of my favorites in terms of flavor, but it is a bit on the smaller side. I'm not a huge fan of the matcha latte though, it came out pretty grainy for me both times I tried it. The baristas are so kind and they work super hard to serve the often large group that I come in with, haha. I love Handles and I'll be back again and again! read more
They ruined it. This was literally the best coffee place in LA, completely unmatched. I'm not sure of the details but they switched to "handles" from their old brand. At first, it didn't bother me too much as long as they didn't change the coffee. I even spoke to the owner about it, and he assured me that they weren't going to change anything. They changed up the decor in the building which didn't really bother me at first. Lo and behold, after about a month or so, every single drink on the menu was altered slightly and renamed. At first, I was excited because the drinks were a little bit bigger. But it turns out the drinks were just watered down l, not to mention the quality and the experience. This place used to be S-tier but now it's mid at best. And it's a damned shame too. read more

Stopped by to try their Handled Coffee (flat white w/ cream) and it was delicious iced. Definitely a small cup, but the perfect pick me up. There's tables upstairs and a few outside. Parking was not great at this Los Feliz location, but there's some street parking on the side. read more

WHEN: Sun @12:30pm I came here to get some work done but it seems to be not a great place to do that. Upstairs, while the area may appear cozy, the low tables stools make it impossible to work. Sure you can go downstairs and try to work at the counter, but it's along a narrow path near the restroom. I was hoping they would have a simple house drip coffee, but it seems you have to know exactly what you want, and this was the case where I should have taken my time instead of rushing to get an order just because the barista was ready for me. I can see how those who are very specific to how they want their coffee and love customization would like it here. So the closest thing to a simple coffee was: ICED AMERICANO - $4.75 I think this was 2 shots of espresso with water. It was fine. Too bad the seating is so limited here so while I don't think this place is a good to work at, it's still a decent place to hang out and catch up with a friend over coffee. read more
Small, cozy spot with a cool atmosphere. They didn't have any breakfast options the morning we visited, but the location makes up for it. Right across from the Vista Theatre, soaking in nostalgic, old-school Hollywood vibes. They also have a really cool vintage speaker setup and were spinning vinyl records, which added a lot to the overall experience. read more
Came to Handles to try their Handles Coffee, but I was told they had been out of their vegan cream for about 2 months. (Bummer) So I ordered their Silver Lake Latte which is their version of an iced orange mocha. I ordered mine with almond milk and it went really well with the chocolate and the orange. FYI: I was told their chocolate syrup is vegan. All in all I waited about 30 minutes for this coffee. There were maybe two people in front of me out the door when I arrived. Parking: easy to find paid street parking down Sunset Blvd if you don't mind a short walk. read more
Updated review for one of our go-to coffee shops! They have rebranded as Handles but the service, quality and ambience has remained the same - great as it's always been! We usually get their handles coffee or handles matcha, but enjoy their matcha latte & silver lake latte as well. They recently opened their second location in WeHo, on the sunset strip, with the most aesthetic coffee shop decor. I love that they do collabs with other shops in the area too like their most recent one with Jacquemus. Also, their WeHo latte is a must try if you're in that area! read more
Stopped by this coffee shop for the first time today, and am very glad I did. I got a handles coffee with oat milk and my partner got a handles matcha with oat milk. The drinks are small as they are flat white inspired drinks but well made with high quality matcha and nicely pulled espresso shots. The sweet cream on each drink was also nice. Dairy alternatives cost extra here, but they are modestly priced at 75 cents. Overall, handles is a good quality, and cute coffee shop in silver lake. I'm sure I'll be back. read more

Really solid coffee, a little too sweet but that's expected with specialty lattes. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The location leaves something to be desired as it's in the middle of a huge intersection so if you're walking from public transit it's a lot of waiting at crosswalks. Inside is very open and cute as well. read more
I had such. great experience here. The interior is super well-designed/thought out and gives 1970's-I absolutely loved the vintage lamp in the front. The cashier was sweet and gave me recommendation to get the Handle's coffee. I told him I wanted it vegan and he recommended oat milk and vegan cold foam. The coffee was absolutely amazing and I can't wait to come back. read more
This coffee is no longer called Camel. It's called Handles. A marketing branding strategy due to one of the two owners went Splitsville (not in a most amicable way). However, they offer the same coffee menu items, good service and expensive prices. Overall, it's still one of the finest South Korean Coffee in LA. read more

I can see what the hype is alll about! Came here for the first time with two friends that had been here before. I was excited because all they kept saying is that it was the best coffee they've ever had etc etc. I'm like you know what let's see what it's all about. And DAYUM! They were right. I went with the favorite which is their Handles coffee. It was definitely worth every dollar (i didn't pay) but i wish there was a bigger size! Also i like how they gave directions "sip don't mix" i wanted to mix it so bad but glad i didn't lol I'll definitely return when im in the area. Very clean spot and staff were friendly! read more

The late Camel Coffee turned Handles Coffee is still solid and Korean American owned. Love how punchy their signature espresso and matcha w/ cream tops are, with such a small pour containing great flavor and caffeine content! The espresso paired well with a little macaron cookie (forgot the name), as it was strong and needed something sweet to cut it. The matcha was beautiful and perfect and could enjoy that any day on its own! That and being in Silver Lake on a holiday weekend with LA celebrities like Maude Apatow ordering the same drinks in line with me just makes it a full experience. I do miss the classic brown stone wall and matching high-ceiling interior to go with the Camel Coffee brand, but they seem to be doing the same things right here. I'm not sure what happened, as the interior is a bit empty and stripped naked as things are gone from the brand move I'm assuming, it does seem it lost a little bit of its "magic" and pure passion for making this place great and memorable. Now, it's just living in a shadow of what shortly-was, but still delivering the best they can... It's still a nice pick-me-up when you're in the mood. The (always) negative? The extra charge for switching to oat milk in such a small 6oz. (?) drink, because it's so little and some people really can't drink dairy. (Edit: The owner Joshua was actually nice enough to reply with his gratitude, and clarified the once 8-oz drinks are now 10-oz!) read more
the silver lake latte is a MUST TRY. the balance between the chocolate and orange citrus is insanely perfect. i haven't had a good specialty latte like that ina while. service is great! the staff was super informative when they gave their recommendations while catering to my taste :) space is small yet spacious! the upstairs is a seating area but i didn't check it out so that's another reason for me to come back read more

Probably the smallest cups you will ever get from a coffee shop. They double cup them because the serving size is so lackluster. Really good coffee and matcha but we finished our drinks on the way to the car and went to another cafe. read more
Parking can be a little challenging in this area but definitely worth it. Love the inside of this spot with tons of cool vintage decor. Ordered the handles matcha as well as the handles coffee. Both are flat whites plus a sweet cream top. Service is great and very friendly workers. Drinks are really good and high quality, but knocking off a star for the disappointing portion size. read more

Okay but let's talk about the camel coffee... my friend ordered a camel coffee and had me try and I'll definitely be getting it next time! The flavor is so rich and perfect. I opted for the matcha since I wanted lower caffeine it had a great color and the kouign aman, which was one of the best I've tried in a while. Service was quick and nice despite the long line. I love the whole aesthetic and interior design of the cafe, even their merch is cool read more

Cute interior with genuinely great coffee and excellent service. It's dog friendly, which is always a plus. The drinks lean a bit sweeter, but they're well made. I didn't like the americano, so I think this place really depends on what you order. The specialty coffees are where it shines. Sitting upstairs has a really nice cafe vibe and makes it a great spot to hang out. From the first time I went to Camel, I've been thinking about it. After our first visit, my bestie texted me and said, "yo that coffee was so good" - couldn't get it off our minds! We've been back several times since now and still loving it. Camel is a very popular Korean chain and this is its FIRST U.S. location right in Silver Lake! All my friends have been rejoicing. It's worth mentioning, that they've been open a year now and you will still encounter a line on weekend mornings. It's a popular place and in my opinion, the hype is worth it. The design is so sleek and though it might be from Korea, very LA chic. The outdoor patio along the sidewalk is very cute, you can eat in the shadow of Quintin Tarentino's place across the street. Inside, the hidden balcony seating with a birds eye view of all going on below you? Simplistic beauty perfection. The signature coffee is tiny and delicious, made with a double espresso shot, milk and topped with their special Camel brand cream. Must get every time I stop in. This is a Korean shop and as such, they even have misugaru! Everything we've ever had here from the drinks to the pastries have been good. Don't skip their special "le tigre" pastry which looks like a madeleine, made with hazelnut butter and caramelized sugar. I just feel like I get a little cooler when I step into this shop - hahaha! It's somehow so quintessential Los Angeles while representing South Korean flavors and Korean American vibes. I love it, Imma regular now! read more

I understand they're new, but is there a certain time and day when there isn't a line out the door? I want to try it during their slower peak times (if they have one!)
They're extremely new, so it will be a long time until there is a slower peak time during their open hours. I would just get up early and line up slightly before opening time. Probably the best chance for minimizing wait time.
