What is this drink? (a) Whiskey, (b) Tea on the rocks, (c) Iced Black Tea or (d) Loquat Cold Brew.

Loquat is a brand new coffee tea shop located in a tiny strip plaza. They're located along Sunset blvd in Echo Park. They have coffee, tea, signature drink and pastries. In addition, they sell coffee bean bags, tumblers and coffee decanter. I have been eyeing them for a few months now since I always drive along Sunset blvd to get to work. The shopping plaza they're at is relatively new. I had a Cold Brew which is perfect on a bloody warm afternoon. And I liked it! It's refreshing and the large translucent block of ice in it makes its really cold. Atmosphere was chill. Prices were honestly competitive. Quality of drinks were fantastic. Staff/Barista were industrious and competent. Parking is horrible in the area. No indoor seats available but they do have outdoor seats. Overall, it's a nice addition to the coffee-tea scene in E c h o P a r k.

Another coffee shop in Silverlake. Silverlake has way too many coffee options, and I am not sure if I should be happy about it, all because I am so indecisive. Loquat isn't really new. I've been to the original location in Cypress Park, so I guess it is good to have one here if you like their coffee. Just to add, as I have mentioned many times in my review, I am not a coffee connoisseur. I know nothing about coffee, and I just love getting a drink as long as it is sweet and not so bitter. I got myself The Marble, which is basically just a matcha latte with cream, topped with crushed pistachio. It was decent, but I still cannot justify the price for a 3-sip drink nowadays. There is way too much ice, and they are not small. Will I come back? Nah. I have other options here that I think are better than Loquat. Situated in one of the newest plazas with New Balance, Xibei Dumplings, and Baggu, if you are in the mood for a drink, Loquat can be a quick stop to grab a drink and go. There are some tables and benches, but it is always packed.

Such a cute little spot for coffee in Silverlake. I heard this was their 2nd location and they picked the right spot for it. The location is kind of hidden, but has a nice outdoor spot to hang. If you have a dog, this is the best spot to grab a cup of joe with them. I love trying new coffee shops so Loquat came to mind when I heard they have unique flavors from their coffee beans. I was looking forward to their cold brew as it was described with the flavor of chocolate, apple, lemon and macadamia nut. Yum! Loved it. The staffs were very nice and helpful if you had any concerns or questions. They will guide you through. Parking? There are street parking or a small lot next door, though park at your own risk, I've seen cars parked all weirdly, where you cannot back up your car to leave. Coming back, yes!

What a great new addition to Silver Lake. I've been a longtime fan of Loquat in Cypress Park and have also followed their sister café Kumquat since the beginning, so I was really excited to see this expansion, and it absolutely delivers. Their coffee-making skills are next level. The attention to detail does not go unnoticed, from the quality of the beans to how well-crafted every drink is. You can tell they truly care about what they're serving. On top of that, the service is friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. The space itself is pretty small, so there isn't indoor seating, but there's plenty of outdoor seating available. It's set among other shops in this new area called Sunset Row, which gives it a really nice neighborhood vibe. One thing to keep in mind: parking can be tricky. It's street parking only and the area can get pretty congested depending on the day and time, so plan accordingly. Overall, high-quality beans, well-made drinks, and excellent service make this an easy favorite. I can definitely see this becoming another go-to spot.

This location of Loquat in Silver Lake is its second location. It's managed by the team of Kumquat Coffee. Their drinks have very unique flavor. We made the drive over from Long Beach because their IG showed a special drop for the weekend. They were serving a banana cream pie inspired drink with banana chunks, cinnamon, marscapone, and cocoa powder. It was a little like banana cream pie, a little like horchata, and a little like tiramisu. It was awesome and I hope they bring it back sometime, even though it didn't feature any of their coffee. I also got a drip coffee of their "panama santa maria", which was a lightly roasted, fruit-forward coffee from Panama. They did a great job of unlocking the naturally fruity and sweet flavors from the coffee bean, revealing tea-like qualities. I'd love to come back to try more of their brews. It also really makes me want to try the single origin, top-tier coffees that they offer at Kumquat. Their pastries here were also really good. We got a pancetta biscuit, which was fluffy and nicely salty and savory. Also got a flattened, caramelized croissant that was crispy, sweet, and still flakey. Would come back in a heartbeat if we were in the area.

First time trying this place and it didn't disappoint. I got the pistachio matcha. Flavor was perfect. And with the foam on top it gave it that extra perfect taste. The aesthetic and vibe inside was nice and minimalist. The cashier was nice and gave us recommendations. Obviously it's LA so parking can be bad. Just prepare with coins to pay for parking

This is the second location I've been to after recently trying their roastery Quat. Loquat is a nice minimalist vibes location. Seating is only outside in a small courtyard. Other than the Mascarpone latte and the matcha I'm not sure what else people get. The Mascarpone latte is excellent, not too sweet balance of chocolate and cream foam and espresso. I just wish there was a larger size as the latte is delicious. From Quat is where they get their beans. I picked up some beans to go. I would like to try Kumquat their other coffee location. Each different location has a different signature latte to try.

I've been wanting to check out Loquat for a while! So grateful that I finally got to! I ordered an iced flat white and it was good. I would go back if I were in the area! Staff was kind. Wait time was very good. It's a grab and go space but lots of seating outside!

Cute modern coffee shop in Silverlake. I've been to their other location in Cypress Park, but this location is much closer to me. There isn't much room inside, but plenty of benches and tables/chairs outside to enjoy your drink, company and sunshine. There is a private lot and street parking, but it can still be challenging because of the density of shops there. I was going to get a simple coffee, but the marscapone signature coffee drink caught my eye. I'm a bit over the einspanner drinks because they tend to be very sweet and more like desserts than coffee. My waistline is not happy about that. The guy taking my order, said it wasn't too sweet and was his favorite, so I ordered it. It was not a disappointment! What I liked was that it wasn't overly sweet and you could actually taste the coffee. The bittersweet cocoa nib topping adding a nice nutty textural element and cut the sweetness of the marscapone. I also picked up a bag of their Noel coffee, which is made up of a variety of Geisha beans. Geisha beans for $28? Say what? Can't wait to give them a try! The only thing I'm upset about is that Loquat is soclose to one of my other favorite coffee shops.

Loquat is the latest to the Silverlake neighborhood and whether they will survive in this eccentric coffee shop filled strip is all up to its menu and service. I've stopped by 3 times now since I live 3 blocks away and I think Loquat is a great addition to the neighborhood although I think a bit late to the game. The design of the shop is extremely detail oriented with wood and stainless accents all around with a nice warm orange glow, but with so many other shops around it what will distinguish this shop? And it's simple. Coffee purists. I got a geisha pour over recommended to me for its amazing fruit notes and the farm apparently being extremely reputable. The pour over was brewed to perfection and on par if not better than most shops in LA that offer a pour over. Notes of mixed berries, yay mango and Hawthorne. I gladly took my time to enjoy my pour over in one of their fancy glass cups. The selections here are vast and from what the barista told me they will be switching out their coffee offering seasonally with the farms. Baristas here have a strong and excellent knowledge in coffee and parings, and have very good advice for any coffee questions you may have! Extremely informative and professional in the best way without being pretentious. I also got their mascarpone drink which in my opinion is good but not on par to some other cream top drinks along Silverlake. It's almost exactly like tiramisu cheesecake which I'm not sure you would always want in the morning. Loquat is brewing something different and it's not for everyone but it's a great option Silverlake has now. Offering wide varieties of producer driven coffees to fun occasional drinks. Parking is available with a lot Nextdoor, very nice bathrooms located inside the plaza which is nice. If you want to try something different this place is the next spot to check out! Skip the creamtops and try some of their nicer espresso and filter offerings! I got recommended to get their violet espresso in my flat white by the barista and it's been my go to! Tastes like maraschino cherries and plums!

I like it here a lot because they tend to have a new bean every other week or so. They take the time and put the craft into coffee. Service is great and they help you with nay question. i dont mind waiting long for this place because it's worth it. If youre a coffee enthusiast and love single origin coffee this is the place for it.

Loquat Coffee is a cool little booth tucked away in a recently opened plaza. I tried the pistachio matcha and it was a great choice. The nutty flavor of the pistachio blended perfectly with the earthy greenness of the matcha. My drink came out in about 5 to 10 minutes which was pretty quick. The surrounding stores are fun to check out while you sip your drink.

Everything from napkins to drink caddies to straws to drink sleeves were self serve, which I appreciated. Not to mention the free stickers! The drinks were on the sweeter side, which is what I prefer, but not too sweet that it drowns out the matcha flavor. The double matcha was topped with a thick layer of sweet cream which balanced nicely with the slight matcha bitterness. The jasmine matcha, which was the seasonal drink, was very jasmine forward and garnished with flowers (I ended up spitting them out; had the texture of disintegrating paper straws). Otherwise, it was one of the better matchas I've had, especially because it didn't make me feel jittery. The vibe was quiet, clean, and minimalistic. The chairs looked straight out of a modern art museum. It's like musical chairs, but the loser still gets a chair, just one without back support. This is my first time visiting a matcha shop in LA, and the bar has been set very high!

However, the chairs were quite uncomfortable to sit in, and the Vanilla Latte was still pretty sweet even though I ordered it "less sweet." Still, the coffee tastes so good and the staff are so incredibly kind, so it's a really great coffee shop. P.S. A funny thing: They had dog treats in a jar. I immediately thought of my boss's absolutely super, incredibly cute dogs, so I asked for an empty cup and packed some treats to bring to the office for them today. But when I finished my coffee and was heading out, I totally forgot and accidentally threw the cup of treats away along with the empty coffee cups. OMG. (But seriously, all dogs and cats always absolutely love me. Hahaha. When I get to work, my boss's dogs come over wagging their tails and greeting me so excitedly--they are just so, so adorable. And as for cats, there's a stray that I've been feeding every single morning on my way to work for over 4-5 years now. She currently lives at the Buddhist temple I attend. Every day when I go, she follows me around everywhere. She absolutely loves it when I scratch her back with a brush, and when I'm done and try to leave, she taps my foot to tell me to scratch more!
