Artsy coffee shop with good drinks and a solid spot to work/study from! Walking-in, I loved the artsy vibe from the tiger rug to the records along the wall. They even had a CD player with CD's to listen to! They have two floors with lots of outlets and wifi. The seats are uncomfortable for seating for long periods of time though. For drinks, I got their signature Guinness Butterscotch Cream Latte and it was delicious! I loved the butterscotch cream top. The espresso was nicely strong and mixed with the cream, it was yummy. It was at a good size for $7.50 which was better compared to nearby coffee shops who had smaller portions at higher prices. Parking is street parking. Service was great and the baristas seemed nice. I'm unsure if they have a bathroom. I would definitely come back and add this to my rotation of coffee shops. The pastries looked good and I also want to try their other drinks!
ondo is a lively, down-to-earth cafe that serves a solid menu of caffeinated drinks, from americanos to matcha/hojicha lattes. i ordered the saigon de leche, which is their take on the spanish latte. it contained double espresso, sweetened condensed milk, organic saigon cinnamon, and oat milk (as a milk substitute for an additional $1). it was delicious and not too sweet! receiving my order and finding seating was very quick when i visited on friday in the late afternoon. if you need to work with an outlet, note down the wifi information at the order counter, make your way up to the loft, and take a seat in one of the blue barstools. notice the legs of the barstools are protected by socks shaped like cat paws for a quick laugh. i LOVE that ondo shows real personality rather than a copy-paste of a highly curated pinterest board. an episode of scooby doo cartoon is projected onto the wall behind the counter. a print of a soey milk paintings hangs in the gender-neutral restroom on the ground floor. aesthetically, the 2nd floor is a bit of a departure from the 1st floor. midcentury modern furniture, eclectic magazines, art books, literal coffee books, and CDs from early 2000s that seem to come from someone's personal collection are on display. if you appreciate good coffee, good energy from friendly baristas who like to occassionally sing along to the music playing, and eclectic artwork you would commonly find at gallery nucleus, definitely give this cafe a visit! metered parking is suuuuuper easy.

The service was okay they were patient but not the friendliest. It's a small location however they do seem to have an upstairs to hang out which is unique and cool. Parking was okay pretty packed area. Overall I think there are some better coffee shops out In this area.
If you don't know, I'm all about the true medium roast that's clean and not classic leaning. I am not a real big fan of the bold "strong" profile of classic roast. However, even though my Cortado was their house blend for espresso and it was pretty dark, it didn't leave a disgusting film on my palette. I definitely would have appreciated a cappuccino more with this profile but that's me. The ham and cheese wasn't real flaky and more breast, but again it's about preference. I will not ding a business based upon my own personal preferences because there's a lot of people who like classic profiles in coffee and a breast croissant. The vibe and service here are great. The employees friendly and knowledgeable. Great little coffee shop for the neighborhood.
the coffee is solid. the japanese iced coffee is smooth and not too bitter. spanish latte is also pretty good! extremely friendly staff!! you can tell they genuinely enjoy working there, which created such a warm friendly environment, and they treat every customer with care and patience. a lady came in right at closing (not realizing they closed early today), but they still happily took her order. the cafe is decorated by many unique, artsy, and vintage items, which makes it very charming. upstairs they have a collection of artbooks and magazines for you to peruse. there is plenty of seating downstairs and upstairs, with free unlimited wifi which makes it a good spot to work/study at. music is quite loud (they were playing mostly pop hits) so that's something to consider if you prefer a quiet spot. there is metered parking (6 hrs max) right outside the cafe
I think the drink name is callled Blue'min Milk Tea. The blue comes from butterfly pea leaves so it didn't add much flavor. But it had a strong jasmine taste (the "min" part of the name) which I liked. However, I would also just get a jasmine milk tea from a boba shop. I don't remember what pastry I got but it was just fine, nothing standout.

They've done a great job using with the open space/high ceilings and 2nd floor area. Got the Mt. Hoji drink, delicious. Wild that all their speciality drinks are only iced though, I guess hot drinks are not cool anymore? - signed, A Millennial struggling to stay on trend. Music is good (mostly R&B), wifi works, staff is pretty diverse racially (not just the stereotypical LA barista, you know what I mean), there's some power outlets, great spot to work and see all the hip LA kids and what they're up to.

The place is small but even so, it feels like they really made the best of the space. There are a few tables for single or parties of two. There's also stairs that lead to another floor of seating. Most of the patrons there are on laptops working or keeping to themselves mostly. Service was the same; everyone is just so productive here! The menu is straightforward with coffee and tea drink options. They also had pastry options available. I ordered an iced latte, whole milk. The latte was subtle, silky, and smooth. I think this would be a good option for a second coffee of the day. Where it's midday and you just need a little something, but not too strong. Really enjoyed this local spot and will come back again.
Holy cow. Flavor flavor flavor. I literally don't even like coffee that much but this is a flavor explosion. Creamy but not heavy. The coffee really comes through. It's deep and earthy. Sensational.

Stopped in for a cortado and thought it was decent overall, but not quite where I expected it to be. The drink looked decent and the texture held up. The crema and foam stayed intact throughout the drink. For context, I do drink bright coffees regularly and generally prefer light roasts and washed beans, so I'm usually pretty comfortable with higher-acidity profiles. That said, the crema had a slightly dry, matte appearance rather than the glossy, silky look I usually associate with a really well-executed cortado. Flavor-wise, it had more of a sour taste. I don't mind bright coffees, but this one tasted a bit sour, and I wasn't entirely sure whether it was an intentional characteristic of the coffee or a sign that it needed more balance. It could have used a little more sweetness to round everything out. The body was solid, but the flavor never really came together for me. My biggest issue was that nobody behind the bar could tell me what beans were being served for my cortado or provide any tasting notes. At a specialty coffee shop, I'd expect at least some basic information about the coffee, especially when customers are trying to learn more about what they're drinking. However the girl at the register was very nice. Not a bad drink overall but I did expect more.
Excellent café in East Hollywood. I had work related meetings nearby and glad to stumble upon this one. The hojicha was excellent!

Such a great coffee shop, especially if you're around LACC!! The atmosphere is cozy, quiet, and perfect for studying or getting some work done. They even offer a student discount which is a really nice bonus. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers and create a great vibe. One of my favorite details was that my latte was served in a real ceramic cup instead of a paper cup . It might seem like a small thing, but it makes the whole coffee experience so much better. Ondo Coffee has a few outdoor tables, several seats along a cozy banquette inside, and additional seating up on a balcony. The espresso was good, though the presentation was the highlight. It arrived in an adorable mini mug on a wooden tray served with a side of sparkling water that wasn't overly carbonated, which I appreciated. The café was perfectly air-conned, making it a welcome escape from the LA summer heat. It feels like a great spot to settle in with a book, unwind for a while, and I'll definitely be back to try a different coffee drink next time. read more

8/28/2025 Came here on a Monday afternoon, so it wasn't busy. PEACH ROYALE (SEASONAL) (Organic black peach tea, cane sugar, organic oat milk, cold steeped for 18 hours) Mellowed black tea with that fruity peach flavor. The oat milk brings that extra creaminess and with fruity black peach tea. Surprisingly delicious! I do not like oat milk, but since it was steeped with the black peach tea, I could not substitute it. GUINNESS BUTTERSCOTCH CREAM LATTE (House-made Guinness butterscotch, sweetened milk base, espresso, whipped cream top) Surprisingly good flavors! At first sip it tasted like tiramisu. But as I mixed it, I can taste the Guinness with the coffee. It tasted like that buttery caramel toffee flavor. It tasted complex. There was some textures in the cream like chocolate specks. Everything was creamy and it felt like a good dessert drink. CHAMOE SPARKLER (House made Korean golden melon cheong and sparkling water) It did taste like the Korean melon. You do get small bits of the Korean melon throughout the drink. It was much sweeter than desired. Korean melon is usually mild in sweetness. The tonic did bring that extra bubbly mouthfeel with each sip. Personally, I did not love this drink nor was it unique. Very one note. AMBIANCE / SEATS Strangely, the pictures came out too nicely on Yelp and on Google reviews. In person, everything looked old and grungy. Also, muuuuch smaller than what I've seen in pictures. There are tables and seats indoors and outdoors, but still it's not a place you can comfortably sit with your laptop and study or work. CUSTOMER SERVICE Not super friendly nor welcoming, but no attitude. They just did their job and that's it. PARKING Metered street parking only. Luckily, I parked right across Ondo, so I didn't mind. Plus I put in less than a dollar. Not a whole lot of parking. Very limited area and limited in parking. My overall experience was good. I enjoyed their drinks to return in the future. read more
We don't live in the area but I found Ondo Coffee after looking for a coffee shop not far from Griffith Park. They normally have an upstairs seating area but it was closed at the time we visited. Ambiance here was cute and minimal. Service was friendly and efficient. After ordering, our drinks were served quickly. I quite liked the matcha here and would be back if I lived closer. Someone recommended Ondo to me as one of LA's top coffee spots and I can see why! The pour over had floral notes and smelled like caramel, and the ceramics it's served in are very cute! There's a lot of space for studying, although the WiFi was having a moment while I was there. It's about half a mile from Vermont / Santa Monica so also very accessible by transit. read more

Thanks to Yelp for allowing me to come across this cute lil whole in the wall. Known for their Guinness Butterscotch Cream latte, ofc I had to give it a try. It delivered sweet buttery, creamy and slightly bitter flavors. If you're into the sweetness of a latte, this will be for you. They top it off with cinnamon for a woody mild kick. The space is rather small and they offer some seating within their upper level mezzanine. Perfect spot for a quick pick me up. read more

Writing this review 2 weeks late after my visit and I still would strongly recommend this coffee shop for coffee enthusiasts! It has a great pour overs with frequent rotation of new beans to try. I can't quite remember the name of the one I had but it was amazing. I love coffee with a distinct unique identity and it gave me exactly what I was looking for. I wish I could give a more thorough description of the cup for my hardcore coffee enthusiasts out there but I'm still learning my tasting notes, so you'll just have to trust me on this one. I had my drink in their dine in cups which included a pretty looking server with a matching tasting cup so you can slowly pour and enjoy your coffee. The shop is a little small with the main area feeling a little cramped but there's a small upper level with some more seating. The vibes felt chill and inviting with many people getting work done while enjoying their drinks. My sister who I was with ordered the Guinness Butterscotch Cream Latte but it didn't really suit our tastes. However, it doesn't make this place less worth visiting. I will definitely be coming here again to try out more drinks! read more
I tried Ondo Coffee on a whim several months back, and I'm happy I visited! I appreciated the friendly service and the employee's attentiveness as he answered menu questions. I ended up sitting in the downstairs area near the ordering counter but noticed there's an upstairs level too. I ordered the Guinness Butterscotch Cream Latte; while I was worried it may be overly sweet, I though the balance between the espresso, Guinness butterscotch, milk, and whipped cream was spot-on. read more

Came here on a sun and got street parking pretty quickly! It's a nice quaint spot to grab coffee and chat with friends. The staff is friendly and coffee is solid. I got the Saigon de Leche which was more on the sweeter side for a latte, but I still enjoyed it as the coffee flavor still pulled through. read more

I came on a Thursday morning at 10am. Very friendly service and ask what the barista suggested. A fall spice latte with oat milk. There is paid parking outside, but I do t know if it's strictly enforced or not. I seemed to be the only one to pay! Lul!! Walking inside, you get the feeling that these people know their coffee! It felt comfortable and not pretentious! It seemed to be very busy but the baristas made the time with each customer that I saw spent with quality. Liam was the barista and they were completely nice and had a great suggestion of the fall spice latte!! Thank you Liam! When I am in the area again, I plan to come back here!! read more
Ondo Coffee is by far one of the hippest and coolest coffee shops I have visited in a while! This specialty coffee shop located in East Hollywood is tucked away in a neighborhood nearby the LACC. There is no parking lot but there is a lot of street parking options all around. Inside, they have a cozy and cool ambiance with some retro Japanese vibes. They have an upstairs and downstairs area in the shop with about 4-5 tables for seating downstairs and additional seating upstairs. For their menu, they have a great selection of different specialty drinks to choose from. Wifey and I decided to try the Strawberry Matcha Latte and the Mt. Hoji. Both drinks were some of the best drinks we have tried in a while with great depth of flavors! Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience grabbing drinks and hanging out here. They definitely have one of the cooler coffee shop setups that I have had the chance to experience. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. The taste of their Earl Grey Latte was interesting, in a good way. I thought it might've been a little bit on the milky side, but nothing over the top.The ambiance of the place is very modern and hipster to me. They have a great wall selection of beans to purchase and a second story level where you can study and work in. Prices seem a little high for coffee, but then again they're are not making you a standard cup of coffee. I would certainly go back to order a different drink. read more
If you're into quality and specialty coffee, Ondo Coffee is a must visit. I've had some unique single origin coffees from there. While Ondo doesn't roast their own coffee, they serve specialty and estate coffee from other roasters. Not all coffees are alike. Coffee flavor comes from coffee plant species & variety, location, harvesting, processing and roasting. They do serve the creme del a creme of coffee.. Geisha coffee which is a bit more floral, tea like with fruit notes. One unique coffee that I had recently from here from Columbia, a pink bourbon variety was processed with hops. Very unique flavor that had notes of that of an IPA and nectarines. Great cafe to try if you're into specialty coffees. Ondo is tucked away in East Hollywood behind LACC/Braille Institute. We found this coffee and tea gem via a friends coffee focused discord and finally made the trip to LA to check it out. They have such unique drinks and the staff and owner are very friendly and helpful. This was probably one of the best strawberry matcha lattes I've ever had. Not too sweet, very strong matcha, and the strawberry puree was well balanced - expertly incorporated instead of leaving awkward chunks of strawberry at the bottom. It felt like a cohesive drink instead of three separate pieces. read more
