Edamame Dumpling

Checked out this amazing Asian fusion restaurant for happy hour and it did not disappoint! Everything on the happy hour menu is only $8 and it includes rolls and fun bites! The dumplings were especially good and I will definitely be back to try their full menu!!

The Blue Elephant is a beautiful space--smaller downstairs, larger upstairs (split staircase without an elevator). A portion of the upstairs is divided by sliding steel/glass doors, which looks like it'd work for a semi-private event. Service was great--our server helped with a drink suggestion and relaying some food allergies to the chef and staff. I enjoyed a lovely Pineapple Basil No-jito (pineapple puree, thai basil, yuzu ginger syrup, soda). For our starters, we shared: - Seaweed (sesame seeds); and - Main Line sushi roll (spicy tuna, scallions, avocado, tempura crunch, eel sauce): a solid sushi roll, no notes! Mains: - Tom Yum Koong (shrimp, squid ink creste di gallo pasta, lemongrass, galangal, bird eye chili, cilantro, kaffir lime dust): a beautiful plate with wonderful flavor; - Drunken Noodles (wok stir-fried wide nodles, eggs, bell peppers, spicy thai basil chili with tofu): so pleased to learn the chef is Thai--this plate was perfectly balanced with salt, fat, acid, and heat; - Poke Bowl (sushi rice, scallions, edamame, shiitake mushrooms, cucumber, jalapeno, fried shallots, spicy aioli, eel sauce with tuna); - Branzino (edamame puree, sauteed garlic spinach, wild mushrooms, tom kha beurre blanc, kaffir lime dust). Would definitely return if out that way again!

Had an incredible time at The Blue Elephant. I've been trying to explore more places in the burbs and heard great things. They delivered well. From the food to the ambiance to the service. All excellent. It's a large menu with various flavor profiles. Tons of options for everyone's taste. We ran the gambit. Massaman dish was hardy, tender, flavorful and delicious. I can't stop thinking about the sai ua gnocchi sardi. Very unique dish blending a handful of cultures. It really works and I want more. Truffle fries are addicting and the sushi stole the show. Fusions usually aren't my favorite but this is by far the best combination I've had. The restaurant itself was dope. Elephant themes everywhere. Dramatic stairs to the upstairs dining room. I loved the feel. Our waitress was awesome. Helpful, funny, and personal. All things that are the mark of a great spot. Looking forward to coming back and eating my way through the menu.

Was looking for a last minute resy and snagged a spot for lunch with girls at Blue Elephant. From the atmosphere, wonderful and quick service to the delicious and comforting food - it was a hit and I am definitely looking to return with my husband when we are in the area. Everything we ordered from the mocktails, apps and dishes, it was all spot on. My pork belly ramen had the perfect amount of umami, texture and variation to leave me craving another bowl. Give this place a try when you're in Wayne!

I ordered takeout for a treat as I was in Wayne for something else. The app had said it would be an hour, but the guy in front of the house made sure the kitchen knew I was there and he found me a comfortable place to wait. I did like the elephants decorating the place. Both items had a nice presentation within the containers. My avocado salad was very fresh. The crudo wasn't my favorite as I don't like tart or vinegar and the liquid it was sitting in tended in that direction.

Had a really good experience here. Good service and food, and we were kindly given a complementary dessert because we were dining for our anniversary. We ordered the pork gyoza and spicy tuna roll for apps. Both were good flavor. For an entree, I did the teriyaki eggplant which was amazing. Cooked perfectly, loved the sauce, and the green beans were some of the best I've ever had. Husband got the crab fried rice which was very good. The restaurant itself is very beautiful inside, and I loved the gold chopsticks! Will come again.

After a long, delayed flight from the West Coast, I arrived at this restaurant hoping for a relaxing meal. I chose to sit at the bar, where three seats were empty. Despite sitting there visibly and even raising my hand to get the bartender's attention, he-- a white male with dark brown hair tied in a ponytail--never once acknowledged me. He served guests seated on either side of me but completely ignored my presence. Fifteen minutes passed without so much as a menu. Then, a man sat down next to me, and within 30 seconds, the bartender greeted him, handed him a menu, and took his drink order. Only after I waved him down again did he finally bring me a menu. At that point, I decided I'd be ordering my food to go--he wasn't getting a single extra dollar from me. Unfortunately, the food was just as disappointing as the service. It lacked flavor, and the only mildly redeeming dish was the chicken lettuce cups. As I left with my takeout bag, a couple took the bar seats I had just vacated--and of course, the bartender immediately handed them menus as they sat down. This experience was disheartening and frustrating from start to finish.

From front to back: Short rib with potatoes, tomatoes, and pineapple, shrimp tempura hand rolls, drunken noodles, prosecco

My experience at The Blue Elephant was 10/10. From the moment I arrived, the entire staff including the host, our waiter, and the bartenders were all so kind and very attentive. My friend and I ordered quite the spread - chicken lettuce wraps, steamed gyoza, shrimp tempura hand rolls, short rib, and drunken noodles. The portion sizes were very generous and the prices were (mostly) reasonable. The Peachy Queen cocktail was $17 (which I thought was pricey for an ordinary cocktail). But The Blue Elephant on the other hand ($13) was a much better drink in my opinion. While the food was delicious and the staff were amazing, the tables were very small. As much food as we ordered, I wish we had a little more space to comfortably enjoy our meal. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at The Blue Elephant. I can't wait to check them out again for brunch and happy hour.

Drunken noodles, eggplant entree, salad, fried rice

I LOVE this spot. The atmosphere is super cute although I was a little bummed we ended up in the bar area. If you want something a little less loud and crowded, upstairs is a better option. The spicy salmon appetizer was by far the best thing we chose. The sushi rolls were a great appetizer option. The fried rice and drunken noodles were excellent. The eggplant entree was not was my friend expected, it was a lot of fried food. The salad was very peanut buttery. I would ask your server for recs or check out the pictures before you spend the money.

Birthday dinner review! Usually, it takes some digging for me to decide on a place perfect for my birthday feast. But when I found out that the restaurant team behind favorites of mine like Azie and Mikado Thai Pepper had a fusion restaurant that merged Japanese and Thai cuisine with Italian. And the end result was perfect fusion without the confusion. The interior was posh and featured a lot of the decor played to the elephant theme. The service was spot on with their recommendations, and the bar poured tantalizing cocktails and mocktails while also featuring an exceptional beer and wine list. The miso old-fashioned was smoky and flavorful with its Suntory Toki whiskey, miso, and bitters. The seasonal Fallen Leaves cockail was a surprising tiki concoction with Bulleit Rye, kabocha squash orgeat, blood orange, and lime. The Italian and Asian fusion shined throughout whether it was through items like a red curry duck pappardelle, edamame truffle tortellini, panko breaded eggplant teriyaki, and a wasabi Caesar salad. But for our dinner we indulged upon the following: Kobe Beef Hot Rock - perfectly seared by us kobe beef with an incredible ponzu sauce! Signature Nigiri - when you get a chef's selection of five perfectly prepared pieces of nigiri you tend to enjoy it before taking a picture! Senza "Tuna" Rolls - vegan sushi is something I've never been curious to try before, but seeing spicy tuna done with soy-marinated bell peppers, carrots, pickled daikon, and a tofu-based spicy aioli was something that unexpectedly delivered. Green Curry Lobster - a classic made even better when it is paired with a basil mafaldine pasta, white wine! Passion Fruit Chocolate Cake - a perfect mix of decadent chocolate and tropical fruit that should not work but absolutely did! Toss in a weekday happy hour, a late-night happy hour on Friday and Saturday, and a Sunday brunch buffet and you have plenty of reasons to check here out!

Food was great and the service was excellent. My mom is a very picky eater and they were able to accommodate her. My aunt and her ordered the chicken sandwich and fries and said it was really good! I got the California roll, shrimp tempura roll that came with miso soup. Very good! Bathroom is clean and the restaurant is so cute and kinda small.

4.5 Came back for happy hour and saw they updated their HH menu! The shishito peppers were the favorite of the table. Salmon canapé would've been a strong contender but there's only 3 small pieces for $8. Also felt like the umami tots weren't worth the price, it's just tatter tots with spicy mayo. The corn fritters were crispy and indulgent. Probably should've gotten less fried food but that's our own fault. We ordered the green dragon roll and it was really good and unique for a vegetarian roll. I would come back to try their normal menu or their Sunday brunch.

Order a bunch of things and watch everyone swoon. The food is rustic, but also at the same time can be dainty and super flavorful. I love the atmosphere in this restaurant, and I've always enjoyed every bite I've had, whether it's the Shakshuka or Casoncelli with veal, golden raisin, amaretti, parmesan (my favorite go to) see many pictures. Occasionally, you can find chicken liver pâté on the menu, and I've always enjoyed their fish. The Branzino is spectacular, but don't miss out on the Crudo in the antipasto section. Last time I was there, I tried the focaccia bread with ricotta--don't miss it! The food is New York-worthy, absolutely delicious. A few other standouts over my past experiences have been.- yummy appetizer size pizza, delicious meat, mushroom, gnocchi, handmade, pastas, wonderful simple salads, and the crispy potatoes are delicious as well. I've also tried the Arancini, which is the best I've ever had. OK, I'm officially gushing, but this is how I feel about this restaurant!

Disappointing Ambiance Despite Good Food…read more The food was good, but unfortunately, the dining experience was ruined by excessively loud hip-hop music. For night dinners at these prices, I expected a relaxing atmosphere where I could enjoy the meal and conversation. Instead, the music played for staff's entertainment; it was so loud that it became difficult to relax and enjoy the experience. We asked the staff to lower the music, and it was lowered for about 10 minutes then was raised again. This is not creating a comfortable dining atmosphere for customers. The seating arrangement was also far too crowded. Some tables were less than two feet apart, making it very easy to overhear other customers' conversations--and for them to overhear ours. Polite standard rule is 3ft. space between tables rather than trying to fit in as many seats as possible. Having an ass in your face while eating when walking in between tables is gross! The food was good, but the loud music and overcrowded seating significantly took away from the overall experience. Unfortunately, because of the atmosphere, I won't be returning.

I had read many reviews about how slow the service was so I was somewhat prepared, but it truly is a place you need to dedicate two hours to for a basic meal. Bus boys and our waiter were very apologetic for this, and everyone was very friendly. Drink service was also quick. The food was just ok. We got the special middle neck clams and they were not great quality. I ordered the casarrece which was good but not amazing. Husband got the carbonara which was flavorless and too creamy - sauce was more like an Alfredo honestly, I would come back for a drink and app just for the vibes but wouldn't seek out another meal here.

Located in Bryn Mawr on Conestoga Rd, there is a private lot and street parking available. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. We were greeted by a friendly server before we even stepped inside. The host station is right inside and we were welcomed warmly once again. They offered us our choice of inside/outside seating. Being our first time there we wanted to see the interior. I mentioned this and they gave us a great table upstairs overlooking the restaurant. The store is decorated with a lot of Italian transportation...small cars and Vespas. I loved the high ceilings, and the upper level seating. They also have a huge TV on the wall, and decorated for the 2026 World Cup, despite Italy not qualifying! Our server, Alex, was very personable despite being busy with a large bday gathering and several other tables. He made us feel welcome as he went over the specials and took our orders. I got the chicken Parmesan which is my goto litmus test, while my date got the beet salad with grilled chicken. The food arrived promptly and looked and tasted delicious. My chicken parm was yummy, crispy chicken with melted cheese over delicious spaghetti! The beet salad was also well received. We saw several tables getting some delicious bread and asked for a basket. I thought it may be complimentary however it was 8$ a basket. They make it in house and drizzle it with olive oil. Served with some fresh rosemary and soft butter, it was delicious and well worth the price, just don't fill up on it! We were pressed for time so turned down their house made gelato, however we passed the gelato station on the way out and regretted this decision, it looked amazing! I mentioned to Alex that my entree was delicious but what set the restaurant apart was the service and atmosphere. It was warm, welcoming, and friendly. Some Italian places can be a bit on the cool/formal side so this was a nice change. Stop in and check it out, save some room for that bread and the gelato!

The service was very good: attentive and friendly. The ambiance is similar to Not Your Average Joe's in Ardmore with the upstairs/balcony seating and downstairs and big screen TV showing sports, but much noisier, especially as the upstairs also was filled with guests. By the time we left at 7:45pm after a 6:45pm reservation, it was loud enough that we had to fairly shout at each other to continue our conversation. The food was okay, except the salad which was excellent, but not worth returning for just the salad. - beet salad - 4.5/5, plentiful small diced red and yellow beets, avocado, arugula, a light dressing and burrato with crushed pistachios. a very solid starter salad and the server kindly split a large order into two small plates for us to share - fried calamari - 3/5, having just eaten at Estia last night which has a very good fried calamari, this one was not breaded as consistently and some of the pieces were a tad on the large side for a reasonable bite and too chewy to be cut with the fork or knife. - penne puttanesca - 3/5, my husband ordered this and while he not a self-proclaimed foodie, for him to say it was just okay means it was really just okay - linguine vongole - 3/5, points for the very plentiful offering of clams, i counted probably 20 generously sized clams (sometimes you get miniscule clams with this dish), but overall the sauce was too salty and there's not much you can do to fix that, and the linguine was a bit overcooked, definitely not even close to al dente We skipped dessert as by that point our ears were starting to ring with the high decibels coming from around us on the balcony and the floor below. It looked like a lot of people were having a good time so maybe it's just not for us.
