Ever had French Asian fusion food? Well now you HAVE TO at Maison Lotus! I had a date night here for the first time and every single thing I ate was incredible! It was so fun to try French and Asian foods together in one meal! I highly recommend the spring rolls and the cloud bread, they were so good. The place was super cute and the staff was very nice. I will definitely be coming back here for another date night.

A friend was tagged on Facebook having dinner in the most beautiful restaurant. "Where is that?!" I asked. That's how I learned about Maison Lotus, an Asian restaurant in the former Margaret Kuo location. Did I love my meal there? Not exactly, but I thought it was by-and-large good, likely prompting a return visit. I generally gravitate to restaurants that specialize in one type of cuisine. Maison Lotus is fusion, offering Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese dishes. We started with wonton soup. The broth had subtle sesame flavor, enhanced with cilantro and crispy shallots. I wasn't enamored with the wonton or its stuffing -- a combination of shrimp and pork. For lack of better description, the dumpling was "mushier" than I thought it should be. The star of my meal was pad see ew with chicken. Though I doubt their wide noodles are homemade, they tasted like they could be. Lucky me; leftovers tonight! My previous experience with shaking beef was in a Vietnamese restaurant on Buford Hwy, an area known for Asian restaurants in Atlanta. The dish was memorable. It had tang. Maison Lotus's version is Americanized. The filet mignon was good quality and cooked medium rare -- but it lacked distinct flavor. (My husband, not an aficionado of Vietnamese food, thoroughly enjoyed the dish.) Maison Lotus's bartender serves up innovative drinks. Their dessert menu also stands out. The staff we interacted with is great, particularly William, the assistant manager and Olly, our server. While my preference is for Chinatown hole-in-the-walls, I think Maison Lotus has a bright future on the Mainline. My friend, the fellow tagged on Facebook, has been there twice in the last month alone.

Fun ambiance

Great atmosphere, fun and tasty cocktails, and good appetizers at this Vietnamese inspired fusion restaurant. Service and entrees were not as great. The real stars were cocktails here. The pho cocktail was incredible and really did have the herbal and star anise flavor from pho. We got the crispy duck buns, summer rolls, and a salad to start and all were decent. The summer roll wrapper was a bit plastic-y but otherwise tasty. The mains were a bit more disappointing with the pork in the Vermicelli bowl being overcooked as well as the beef in the Crying Tiger. The seafood curry fried rice had some mussels that tasted a bit fishy but overall was good. I'd recommend coming here for happy hour or just some cocktails and an appetizer or two.

I had a great brunch experience. Everything tasted great. I think my favorite was the French omelette & the French toast. The Matcha latte and the Maison 175 were both delicious. The atmosphere was relaxing. The service was top tier, thank you Justin! Emily was great & took us downstairs to check out their beautiful new speakeasy & private event space. I highly recommend & will definitely be back.

Wow! This place is beautiful! So it is a cafe starting at opening, the dining room opens at 11am for lunch and upstairs opens at dinner time. Very nice people working here, offered descent conversation and invited us back. We plan to return. I enjoyed a delicious capaccino and spinach and cheese Danish. The dough was magnificent! Nothing else to say. The menu looks exciting and I want to try more food. There is a plan for a speakeasy later this summer.

When looking for a new dining experience, social media does a fabulous job of highlighting new places. In March, TikTok first piqued my interest in the newly opened French Vietnamese Maison Lotus in Wayne. No disappointment with the food, service, or the lovely lotus-focused atmosphere. Our server, Olly, was very attentive and accommodating during our stay. Our chosen appetizers: steamed dumplings and crispy spring rolls -taste freshly made. My entree: the Salmon Wellness Bowl -delicious. Dessert: The Pistachio Opera cake looked too pretty to pass up, but we shared it and enjoyed it. Vietnamese libations (Mocktail: Lotus Spritz, Lychee Eclat) were pretty and delectable. I plan to return to Wayne to shop in the preloved stores and try to visit Maison Lotus to sample their cafe and pastries.

Late lunch at this darling French Vietnamese cafe. Great service, friendly hostess and attentive server. My entree took 15 minutes but I didn't mind the wait. I've had better Bún but this noodle bowl was tasty. I think it was meant to have daikon radish and could've used more chopped peanuts and lettuce. It was expensive for Vietnamese but worth it for the lovely surroundings.

Came here for a special event and the whole experience was so wonderful! The owners and managers of the special event space and Maison Lotus overall are lovely and compassionate about their business and making sure that everyone has an exceptional time. I'm still dreaming about the tofu curry and broccoli they served but overall can't wait to come back to more events!

Shaking Beef

The Shaking Beef is really good! Have ordered it twice and it's consistently good. Nice restaurant and well renovated decor.

Veggie dumplings, Brussel sprouts, Spring rolls, and Broccoli from the HH menu. Also pictured is the Lychee martini.

Food was good but a bit heavy, the dumplings were our favorite. We were at the bar for HH and the bartenders were super friendly as well as the waitresses. The ambiance was nice, it kept some layout from Margaret Kuos but also felt like a new restaurant with the bar being the new centerpiece. There was actually a storm and the power went out for a few minutes but all the staff remained calm and attentive.

Interesting little spot in downtown Wayne. Close access to parking in a slightly less busy section of town, this place has ample seating both at the bar and throughout the dining room. Service was friendly and fairly attentive. The drink menu is fantastic! Fun combinations, uncommon spirits (pisco, for example), and fantastic flavor. Highlight of the evening! The food was less of a success. The hot stone wagyu was fun, but the pho sauce was a little bland. Still a fun experience though. The shumai were bland and mushy, not a good offering on either taste or texture. Hard pass for next time. I'm a huge fan of pad see ew, so that was a must, and they have a decent offering. Though, if you like a darker flavor, this might not be for you. I like it all, so it worked for me. The Shaking Beef was pretty good as well, with a large portion of well cooked meat. Delicious! For a side, we got the mushroom sticky rice, and that honestly wasn't that great. Bland, overcooked. Sounded excellent, but just didn't deliver. Overall, the drinks are great, and the noodles and entrees we had were good, but everything else was a miss. We will probably be back for drinks, but it'll be a bit before we try again for dinner most likely. Stick to the noodles and specials, avoid the apps and sides.

My neighbor and I came here for dinner on a weekday. We order the lobster shumai, the dumplings, and the rock shrimp. The lobster shumai was very buttery, and took me slightly by surprise. The dumplings were typical, and the rock shrimp was our favorite. But it is quite hard to go wrong with rock shrimp. Given this small portioned meal, the price is not worth it. Service was not very attentive, nor engaging. I love the decor of the restaurant, but I just simply cannot defy justify the food nor the price.

We recently decided to stop by Maison Lotus for a nightcap after dinner at Blue Elephant (their sister restaurant). We absolutely love Blue Elephant so we had high hopes. I would like to go back to try the food to give a full review, but the bar menu was good and I enjoyed my cocktail. Also the aesthetic of the bar itself was very nice, and the bartender was very kind. The main reason for deducting two stars is because of the flies. Perhaps it was just because we were sitting somewhat close to the front door (where two big LED lights are mounted), but there were small flies and gnats ALL over us, as well as the floor. Every time the front door was opened, we'd be pelted with more bugs. It was so bad that we decided to leave after just one drink. I really think this place has potential, and I would love to come back once they get a handle on the issue, maybe in the winter months, or just at a different seating area, and try their food. I don't want this deterring anyone from trying it out, more just a cautionary tale not to sit at the bar by the door (hopefully that's the only spot that has an issue)!

Service is uneven. Food is tasteless. Decor is very fancy. There are better options around Wayne.

Nectar is a standout on the Main Line--modern, stylish, and always a little bit of an experience…read more The space itself is gorgeous, with its high ceilings, warm lighting, and sleek, Asian-inspired design that sets the tone for a special night out. The food is consistently impressive. Sushi is fresh and beautifully presented, and the menu offers a nice balance of creative Asian fusion dishes with familiar crowd-pleasers. The Peking duck and lobster fried rice are delicious, and the cocktails are equally well-crafted. Service is generally very good. It can get busy, and sometimes things move a bit slower than you'd expect given the price point. Speaking of price, it's definitely on the higher end, but the quality and atmosphere usually make it feel worth the splurge. Perfect for date nights, celebrations, or when you want something a little more upscale than the usual Main Line options. Nectar doesn't disappoint.

Made a reservation for dinner here and checked out the previous reviews for dress and environment…read more Dressed up a bit and showed up for an early dinner around 5. I was surprised when we arrived that the place was empty. Environment is upscale Asian decor with high ceilings and a combination of booths and tables. Tables and the parking lot filled up by the time we left. Everyone was dressed very casually. A regular at the corner table came in her tennis outfit. We came, of course, for the food. Two of us ordered a sushi special roll and another off the menu for an appetizer. They were not impressive or tasty. The crab roll seemed to be lacking a lot of crab. The foie gras appetizer although $45 was a good value for three pieces nicely browned on top of some sushi rice. The entree special of scallops with risotto was just ok. The scallops needed a better sear and the plate presented was a sleepy beige all around. The venison special was the envy of everyone at the table, tender and flanked by the goat cheese dumplings. The rack of lamb was not cooked as a rack but as individual chops. It was tasty nonetheless and served with pillowy gnocchi. Desserts were enjoyable including the beignets, chocolate cake, and the strawberry frasier. Service was ok but we were obviously treated differently than the regulars. Not sure I will include this place on my rotation.
