Had nothing but a positive experience! Staff was nice and we ordered cookies to go for the holiday. We decided to order quiche and sit down inside. It was clean and spacious. Elegance has recently started to serve breakfast (great). This is a much need service in the downtown Wayne area. My wife and I always wondered why someone didn't start this (although though Spread is terrific for on the run). Today my daughter and I stopped at the Elegance Cafe in Wayne for lunch and we had one of the best lunches we've had in a long time. My daughter had a slice of the Quiche Lorraine with a small Sharazi Salad and I had a hot Croissant stuffed with Ham and Swiss Cheese with a small Chicken Bowtie Salad. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The Quiche Lorraine was the perfect slice with lots of bacon and swiss cheese and my daughter polished off her nearly her entire Sharazi salad leaving me just a couple of forkfuls to try. The hot Croissant with Ham and Swiss Cheese was delicious and the croissant was perfect; not greasy with just the right amount of butter for flavor. There was a ton of sliced sweet ham (honey baked???) and cheese. We also got a couple of desserts to go (Chocolate covered Strawberry, Chocolate Cupcake with Chocolate Icing and Chocolate Truffle Chocolate Covered Cake) that look absolutely delicious and we can't wait to dig in. They have one small table for two outside, but just down the block towards Lancaster Ave. is a large tent that allows outdoor seating for all of the N. Wayne Ave. restaurants in case the Elegance Cafe's only table is taken. The server behind the counter was very friendly and gave us a warm greeting and salutation after we received our order. I would highly recommend the Elegance Cafe and we will be sure to visit again! read more

If what you want isn't on their menu, they will go out of their way to make it for you! Not to mention, one of the best bakeries on the Main Line!! Lots of stops today and this was another. $4.50 Ice coffee it was ok. A decent cookie. I wanted lunch but it was crazy busy with moms and kids. It was a pain to get the coffee. Here is a cup. I stopped in for a coffee and I got myself café mocha. The attendant was friendly, the service was quick and the coffee is good. It was also a comfortable interior design in a great location. Given the other reviews here I decided not to rate it higher because I do not know the place well, and this is the first time I went. As you can read in other reviews, the owner is a rude obnoxious woman. Not only is she ignorant to her customers but also to her employees. Thats why there is always a help wanted sign in the window. I feel bad for anyone that has ever had to work for her. The food isnt that great but i can tolerate the tuna salad. So i walk in from the doctors office i work at next door at 3. I hadnt eaten all day because we had a busy day with patients. I order from debbie, who is lovley, a tuna sandwich. The owner immediately yells to me that i was lucky because they close at 3 and they had already cleaned up! I replied, "i think your lucky that i even came into order a sandwich"! I also said that i could go across the street to the great American pub and get something. She replied "bye". So after telling her how rude and nasty she was i left! I went across the street and had an awesome lunch At The Great American Pub. They are always friendly and the food is good and reasonably priced! Quite frankly, im not sure why anyone would pay $32 at Elegance for a tiny cheesecake anyway when you can go to the giant for $12. Dont shop here! She sucks. read more

I can't really understand why most of the reviews on here are incredibly low, but from my experience, Elegance Cafe fulfilled most of my expectations. For one, the staff was neat and courteous to me. My orders were quick and painless, and I have never once experienced or seen any form of rudeness/mistreatment on the part of the servers. I have even known one case where the owner of the cafe was more than happy to accomodate a girl from the local community to play her harp outside of the establishment. The ambience of the place was a nice compliment to the food I received here. It was small but clean, cozy, and very comfortable. I find the food here excellent. While I have yet to order any of the hot foods (aside from the spinach lentil soup which was possibly the best lentil soup I have ever had from any cafe), my favorites from their cold food selections include the vinaigrette salads, the bow-tie pasta, and the avocado chicken which I highly recommend. I have also attended several parties catered by Elegance, and the food is always delicious. The staff who cater the parties were also extra diligent in their work and went out of their way to make sure everything went smoothly. The only criticism I can think of are two things: 1) The cafe does close a little bit early compared to many of your other standard cafes. 2) It can sometimes be crowded/slow during lunch time because of the long lines. Other than that, I recommend Elegance to anyone looking for a comfortable place to eat. read more

I heard great things about Elegance but after visiting this location multiple times...the compliments about this place are only for the Paoli location. The atmosphere is nice but the woman that helped me was incredibly obnoxious and rude to her employees, vendors and me. Both times that I got food she had to check to see if they had grilled chicken then I had to wait (5minutes) for her to check and tell me that it'll be 2 minutes to heat it up (ended up being longer) Was it frozen? I didn't get the right ingredients either times on my sandwiches. Second visit I ordered a grilled chicken wrap with cheddar cheese...I received a grilled chicken quesadilla with American cheese. You would think that paying ~$10 for a wrap...there would be more ingredients than just chicken and cheese (chz was extra anyway). All in all I don't recommend this location. read more

Came here for breakfast. If you order an omelette, be prepared to wait at least 20-30 minutes. The omelette was greasy and they got my companions order totally wrong. We didn't bother to have them correct it because we didn't want to wait another 20-30 minutes! Staff seemed to have an attitude too. Learn some patience! A friend said let's go to Elegance as we meet often for lunch in the Wayne area. We arrived at noon. The menu--they were not serving veggies, egg salad, or chicken. So I got a tuna sandwich, when it arrived it was clear they had taken the end of the bread and shaved it to look like a normal piece. The bread was dry, the lettuce in the sandwich was thick and tasteless. My friend's salads looked very unappetizing and we didn't finish. The iced tea was weak and had no brewed flavor. We were overwhelmed by all the choices so it took us 3 min instead the usual 30 seconds and the lady was rolling her eyes and trying to rush us! I stopped by this café after taking the train into Wayne from 30th street station. The options are marvelous and the place's cheery vibe really worked for me. I tried their tarragon chicken salad, a cheese danish and grabbed a brownie to go. I will say this now, I have never tasted a brownie as unique and incredible as theirs. It literally melts in your mouth. I have no idea how they make it but on my way out of wayne I stopped by the bakery again for one! Their salads are extensive and their pastries run the gamut. This is probably going to become one of my favourite places for food in the area. The staff is incredibly friendly and vibrant. They were so hospitable to me as I waited for my best-friend to pick me up from the cafe. I'll likely be stopping by elegance cafe every single time I come for a visit. Wow! Can't believe the score is sooo low for this place! Guarantee, you stop here between the hours of 11:30 - 12:30 during the work week, there will be a line! I'm obsessed with their chicken salad. I get my usual, 3 salad combo (tarragon chicken salad, bow tie pasta, and the garden salad), plus a multi-grain roll. And yes, I will agree with the previous reviews, if you decide to get something "made," it is in fact...made to order, so do expect to wait a little bit as they prepare your sandwich, etc. I love this place!
