Interesting spot among coffee shop/bakery type places. I stopped by for some personal reading and computer work on a weekday morning. One thing of note is that a majority of their comfortable non-counter seating is reserved for non-device visitors during the morning and early afternoon. It was something that I totally agree with, but just happened to go against the purpose of my visit. No matter, I had a productive visit at the standing counter that was more ergonomic that I was originally planning. I ordered some coffee and pastries to-go. I ended up having the pastries later-- delicious! Love the monkey bread in particular, but everything I had was solid. Staff were super friendly and prompt in serving too. I think overall it's a great place for specific purposes at specific times. I think it would be nice to know that in advance, but maybe just didn't look in the right places where that is posted. Or-- it would be nice to have some of the seated table areas for computer work still for those that can't stand for longer periods or need the support.

Cute bustling spot with excellent coffee, good food, and friendly service. Love love love the breakfast sandwich, with its fluffy bun and delicious sauce. I liked the vanilla canele flavor, though I have never had another canele and can't compare texture. The rest of the things I've tried, however, have just been good. The corn blueberry cake was way too sweet. The tuna baguette was fishy and the bread tough to chew. The turkey club was decent--I don't think I've ever had that texture of wet, mushy turkey before, but that beats dry turkey and the flavor was good. Some of the other items (like the pizza!) look yummy though, so I'll have to come back to try more! And to have more coffee and breakfast sandwiches :)

Bryn Mawr desperately needed something like this and once they iron out a few things this place is going to be close to 5 stars. Why did I give it 3.5 ... boy I wish Yelp had 1/2 stars :-) Food: 4.5 - almond crossiant was as good as any we've had in Europe - wow! Bagels are delicious and we really liked the chicken salad sandwich. Coffee was great but why not a mocha option? Staff: 4 - friendly and eager to please - once fully trained they will be fine Ambiance: Layout is great and decorating is solid Noise level: -1 - holy heck, when you sit in the front area you literaly can't hear without screaming at your companion. The fix is easy. There are no soft noise absorbing surfaces in the entire place

New location that just opens up at Bryn Mawr! I come here weekly for my weekly bread. I absolutely love coming here. The options are endless! My go to order is the country white sourdough, plain bagels, & a morning bun. I've also gotten the almond croissant which is absolutely delicious! I love how spacious this location is and can't wait to come to try more of the other options they have there.

Tuna melt with cold tuna in it. They only have sour coffee, no dark roast. Room is kind of echoey. Why would anyone come here?

Service: each person with whom we interacted (hosts, manager, food runners and especially our server...she was fantastic). Food: For the table, we got Calamari: very light and crispy, but the meat was nice and tender Pepperoni and soppressata pizza: excellent, with an amazing sauce, sausage and crispy outside tender inside crust. Dinner: The kids both got the Rigatoni Vodka. This is what I had the first time we visited. It was just as delicious. Packed with flavor and the sausage was perfect. Tender, and just a touch of heat. My wife got the Gemelli. A pistachio pesto - this was probably the best pesto I've ever tasted. Creamy, fill of flavor and a touch of acid that brightened it up nicely. Incredible. I got the Bucatini Amatriciana. Pomodoro sauce with guanciale. Blew me away. The pomodoro was unbelievably well balanced. Exact amount of sweetness, slightly acidic and the guanciale brought the salty note, in the form of crispy crunchy bacon flavor, but surprisingly tender. Blown away. We had to try dessert. Tiramisu: it was as good as expected. Very well made Vanilla Panna Cotta: this was exceptional (like pretty much the rest of the meal) delicate and creamy, and a huckleberry compote (?) that was insanely good. A touch of salt was in there to make it positively sing. I could not more highly recommend giving this place a try. Absolutely the whole package. Loved it and will be back!

For my main course, I had a crispy fried chicken cutlet topped with a perfectly dressed Caesar salad (not on the menu but absolutely worth asking for). I believe it was around $31 and worth every bite. The frosé was spot on too but order it as soon as you sit down so it has time to reach that perfect consistency. The service was amazing . Everything was on point. I'll definitely be back!

Parking was also easy, with a garage directly across the street that the restaurant will validate for you--a nice bonus considering parking around a college campus can sometimes feel like its own competitive sport. The restaurant itself is spacious and also has private rooms available if you're planning a private celebration or event. We were seated at one of the tables surrounding the large bar area, which had a nice atmosphere. Our waiter was attentive throughout the meal and did a good job taking care of us. We started with the Cheesesteak Egg Rolls, which were really good and definitely a great way to kick off the meal. For my entrée, I ordered the Nova Cravers, which are essentially three sliders served with fries. The sliders were decent, although I do wish the fries had been a little crispier. My wife enjoyed her Fried Chicken Cobb Salad, while our son was happy with his Chicken Parmesan and side of pasta. The highlight of the meal, though, may have been dessert. We finished with the Banana Beignets, which were absolutely delicious, especially with the yummy dipping sauce. All in all, we had a great experience. Between the beautiful setting, convenient parking, attentive service, and solid food, Refectory is definitely a place we would come back to.

I had the BLT with avocado and every part of the meal was excellent. The toasty bread was crisp and had a really nice texture; the egg was cooked just how I asked; the bacon a perfect balance of crisp and chewy. I asked for an extra side of avocado (I'm all about getting my fiber) and it arrived at the peak of perfect ripeness. The home fries were tender and savory. Also my cappuccino was delicious. The dining area was very clean and had a faintly rustic feel. The bathroom was also sparkling clean. I was in and out in less than 40 minutes, too, but never felt rushed. There were plenty of vegetarian options. I'm not too sure about it if you have to avoid dairy or gluten; the menu has a lot of that. Handicap access was pretty good: no steps to get in and out of the place. Honestly I can't wait to visit here again!

It's now a chain, so it's not surprising the quality will vary depending on the location. It was a Monday morning around 11 and it was packed - we waited about 5 minutes for a table. The server was very nice as was the service. We shared the Chicken and Waffles, and the Pancake Egg Special - which is 2 mini pancakes, 2 eggs, anyway you want them, and a side of bacon. We also ordered the Cheesy Grits. I asked for the eggs to be 'an omelette', with tomatoes, onions, peppers and cheddar cheese. I also asked for the bacon to be crispy - I don't like to 'chew' my bacon (I bake my bacon to a light crispy crunch - it's a difficult act to follow). Sabrina's fell far short - it wasn't even close to crisp. The omelette, however, was really the star of the breakfast - the veggies tasted fresh, and with the cheddar cheese, it was excellent. The side of grits was too salty - my partner, (who is from Atlanta and grew up eating them), said not only was it too salty, it lacked any real cheesy flavor. My pancakes were average - recently I've been having pancakes that have such a sear, it stiffens the top and creates a chewy texture - these pancakes had that attribute. They tasted okay, but I like a light and fluffy pancake - these were cooked very quickly on a very hot grill. The waffle was good, both the texture and taste were fine. However, the fried chicken was thin, dry and chewy, with too much breading. Overall, Sabrina's Wynnewood was a disappointment. However, when I'm in Fitler Square, it's a favorite of mine.

So rather than their week at NJ shore, the crowd beat it to Apple Walnut. Took a little over 10min to be seated, so not terrible, but this was at the very tail end of service. I was born with an intermittent fasting stomach; I've never been a breakfast-eater and brunch is gross to me! I mention this because I've never taken my son out for breakfast foods so it was great to have this experience. My little one had a HUGE "Go Go Bananas" It said it was "hot cakes stuffed with Bananas" but they were just plain. It mentioned caramel on top which wasn't there (they subbed syrup without asking); frustrating and unprofessional. It also had a slice of poundcake French Toast topped with grilled bananas, and then banana French Toast with granola. It was a decadent treat of gluten and sugar that we don't normally eat at home. My son was really happy. My burger was okay but not memorable, and the fries were that awful batter-dipped cheap kind that I don't eat and they just made the whole thing "mid" as the kids say. Service was very very slow per the crowd and it being the end of the shift. Our server was cheerful and I told her to take her time, but I didn't realize we'd be left waiting forever for water refills, 30min for food (kitchen's fault), and at least 10min after asking for check. I still tipped well over 20% but their staff seems too spent and overwhelmed from the crazy crowds that are so unusual this time of year. In summary, it was great for decadent breakfast foods, diner-quality for my burger, and while I understand how taxed our server was, the service really dragged. I had seen reviews commenting on the wait but do beware that it's still suuuper bad apparently at all times of their hours, and even random weekdays when people are enduring their Trump staycations. I rate it a 3 but my son was so happy with his food so I rounded up.

I now understand why people line up for this place: they serve an outstanding brunch. I had one of the omelettes of the day, which in this case was artichoke, bacon and mozzarella. While that may seem like an odd combination--I can't remember ever having an omelette with artichoke in it--it totally worked. In fact, it was one of the best omelettes I've had in recent memory. It also came with a yummy biscuit (especially yummy if you ask them to bring you honey butter) and breakfast potatoes (I accessorized their ketchup with a bit of hot sauce and bingo).
