Shepherds Pie

I'll start by saying don't come here for the coffee. It's fine but it's just basic coffee. It's not a specialty coffee shop. But the coffee will do fine if you just want a pick me up. Come here for the food. This Shepherd's Pie is what's worth the trip. The meat had a real hearty kick to it. Perfect with a little HP sauce. And if you want the real Irish snacks like McCoy's chips and the good Cadbury chocolate, they got it all.

Ate miles away from the center of the city of Philadelphia. Lot of groceries and snacks and candy from Ireland. The server was busy but kept coming around to top off everyone's coffee. Inside feels like old southie before it got all bougie

Irish bacon, sausage and two egg breakfast

First time here and really enjoyed our Irish breakfast. I got the Irish bacon, sausage & egg breakfast with a side of the Irish soda bread. All were very good. They make their breads in house. Nice friendly diners at neighboring tables.

The Irish Shame. I read and read the reviews and I simply don't get it.... Maybe they sold the place to some else recently or something because I did not experience any of the things in the reviews but the disappointment describe in only one of them. Has nothing Irish but some package good and some little square cakes that say St Patrick's on them... Other than that, my redish beard has more Irish than this. The fries are bland and super soggy, the fish is store bought and is not even the good kind. They are also listed as a coffee place.... My god, horrible coffee Ugh!! Sometimes Yelpers make me wonder. I thought I would walk in and find a gem here, some Guinness battered fish&Chips, but instead I got plate filled with horrid food.. I gave tow stars instead of minus five, because of the service... The only thing worth salvaging from this Irish shipwreck!!

My first taste of home since arriving in Philly and I really enjoyed it. Had the half Irish breakfast with proper brown bread and a big pot of tea; delicious. The cafe even stocks some great Irish products like beans, peas, biscuits, ketchup, tea bags etc They also have frozen rashers and sausages that you can buy and bring home for your own freezer. Service was great, by a lovely Irish girl called Lesley. She could have done with some help but it didn't matter to us, we weren't in a rush and she was extremely nice. Definitely be back again

Don't be discouraged by the simple decor, the food here is great, really tasty comfort food. It's also really cheap with lovely staff.

I've been wanting to try this place out for a while. So, when my college best friend came in town…read moreto spend some time with for my birthday celebration, we wanted to do brunch and this was one of the places I suggested. She picked this place and we headed over to West Philly to check em out. The restaurant is situated at the corner, with signage that makes it noticeable enough so you know where it is when driving up pr passing by. Inside it is to large, but the setup is in a way that doesn't make it feel crowded - some cafe wooden tables (a few two-seaters and a couple four-six seaters) and some countertop seating like a diner. The staff are all cool, down to earth people working hard to serve the people and give the best service as possible - we had a fun moment with two of them and they made sure to check on us throughout our meal.. As for the food - it was very good and I was happy with my choice. Because they had a specialty menu based on one of my have artist (Jay-Z), I had to get something off of that menu. There were a couple of chickens that caught my but I ended up going with the "Lobster & Scrimp" which was a shrimp and grits entree that also included lobster. My friend also got the #3 option from the specialty menu (think of his song about certain people in a French city ) which was a variation of a French toast. Our food was served at the perfect temperature, good portion size and had a good flavor/taste to it. For drinks, she got the Peach Lavender Lemonade and I ordered the complimentary drink from the specialty menu - the "D.O.A" which was a dragon fruit and orange aperol spritz. I'm not normally a spritz person, but this one wasn't bad and I actually enjoyed/drank it all; I think the dragon fruit taste added something extra to it for me. Good spot for brunch/breakfast. Look forward to coming back to try out more dishes from here.

Sabrina's has been on my brunch places to try for a long time. I chose the Wynnwood location…read morebecause it was one with a shopping center and easier to find a parking place. We went on a Monday around 12pm. It was busy, but we were seated right away. Our waiter (Zacharius) was very nice. He helped my daughter decided between sweet and savory. She decided on Chicken and Biscuits (savory). Little did we know, it was a new item on their menu. It took a little longer to prepare. She didn't mind the wait if it was going to be good. Unfortunately it wasn't as good as anticipated. She said it tasted ok but the chicken was overcooked and the gravy was too thick. She let them know, and they seemed glad for the advice. The waiter said he would let the chef know so he could improve it. I decided on the Brioche French toast w/ strawberries. A side of scrapple and coffee. The French toast just tasted like toasted brioche bread (unfortunately). The syrup did the heavy lifting along with the strawberries to make it good. My advice would be to dip it in the batter (if there was any) longer to give it more flavor. I will not get that again! The coffee was pretty good. I also ordered a side of scrapple. Not telling my age......but I've been around for a while! Never in my life have I ever seen scrapple stand up (see photo). It was hard! Crispy like a potato chip! I was surprised that they had the nerve to serve it to me! I did break a piece off, because I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Then I sent it back! I rarely send food back, but this was unexceptable. I must say they soon came back with some properly cooked scrapple. It tasted fine! Lastly, they have metal chairs. The chairs are very uncomfortable. Not sure if this is so you don't stay too long or not, but if that's the strategy....it works! I really don't like to give bad reviews. I try my best to find the positive if I can. Unfortunately this wasn't a very good first vist to Sabrina's for me, but they're staff was very nice and pleasant. The atmosphere and decor (except the hard chairs) was nice as well! That's why they get 2 stars. I will try another location sometime in the future and definitely order something else.

You'd likely drive past this diner without giving it a second thought. But the sign reading…read more'homemade bread' caught my attention. After fasting for a blood test this morning, I said to T, "let's give Ace a try." And I'm glad we did. The building goes back about ninety years, maintaining its old-fashioned ambience ... or what one might consider lack thereof. The menu is more limited than what you'd find in contemporary diners, but they had what I wanted, a western omelet. Served with coarse buttered grits -- delicious! -- the omelet was better (and cheaper!) than what I ordered in Florida's popular "House of Omelets." So, dummy me, I didn't take a photo of the bread that brought me in, in the first place! (I was preoccupied with a phone call.) Eggs come with two thick slices of pre-buttered white bread toast, which I'm guessing makes excellent French toast. The diner is open for breakfast and lunch. While it wasn't busy mid-morning, takeout orders were flying out the door. Apparently Ace Diner is no secret to locals.

Our waitress was thoughtful and welcoming, and they even started us off with a free appetizer of banana bread, grapes, and chocolate-filled rolls. What really stood out was how we were treated. The lady with black hair (possibly the owner, if not, she deserves a raise!) was genuinely kind. She took pictures for us, chatted and joked with us, and was consistently attentive. It felt like more than just service--it was hospitality at its finest. Food: (9/10) The food was amazing. The smoked salmon was perfectly cooked inside the eggs and seasoned beautifully nothing bland on the plate. I tried capers for the first time, and the way they worked with the omelet made me a fan for life. The combination of eggs, salmon, and capers was spot on. Major compliments to the chef! Ambiance: (10/10) The restaurant was clean, including the bathroom, which says a lot. In the morning, it had a nice energy customers were eating and chatting, music was playing softly in the background, and the art added to the cozy aesthetic. The space was lively without being overwhelming. Overall: A This place easily made it into my top 5 breakfast restaurants. I'm not usually big on breakfast, but I loved everything about it here. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying everything on the menu.
