    Cappuccino

Very cute French inspired coffee/chocolate/pastry shop! We came in on the whim while waiting for friends to meet up for an event. My husband ordered a mocha while I ordered a cappuccino. We also got a cookie croissant (which is all the hype!) and a baked tart. The cappuccino was beautiful and tasted great. The cookie croissant was flakey and soft on the inside because of the cookie. My husband enjoyed this tart and coffee too! It's also very family friendly since a bunch of little families were also in there. Very cute fine! Would love to come back and hang out more when we are in the area.

This review is more like 4.5 stars. I pass by this bakery often enough, but never had the opportunity to try. For my daughter's birthday I decided to order their Fiji cake (Coconut lime mousse, mango gelee, key lime center, ladyfinger, and an almond coconut base). I do have to say it was super delicious! My only complaint is that I had to call and make the order (online order would have been easier, but I do understand with custom cake it's better to directly talk to them). It was really difficult to communicate because of the noise level at the bakery. When I went into the bakery to also pick up some pastries (really delicious) I understood why the noise was so loud. I think the interior is built in a way where the noise just gets amplified. With a lot of conversations, little children crying, and espresso machine working it was very loud. Aside from the noise factor this is a legit French bakery!

Every morning when I go into the office I stop here. The coffee is strong and if you know me, you know I love strong, bold, smooth coffee. The morning rush line can get a little long and sometimes the wait can be frustrating but..again, the coffee is good enough for me to practice my yoga breath instead of flipping out cause now I'm 15 minutes late for work instead of 10. It's also a great place to sit and work. Lots of seating option. I also go in on my lunch break for their caprese sandwich which I am also addicted to and yes I have to have a raisin pain or croissant with my coffee. They are like a bad, expensive habit because I shouldn't be eating pastries so much and 8 bucks for coffee and pastry, then 11 and change for lunch in a recession is going to bankrupt me.

Passionfruit, coffee, caramel, earl grey macarons

In light of COVID-19, I appreciate everything this business is doing to keep afloat and be conscious of keeping everyone safe. I'd been craving macarons for weeks and I was about to just order some from very far away (like states away) when I discovered this place just a few miles from my house. They were taking phone and text orders for select meals as well as pastries, and it was as easy as coming in and paying! I ordered coffee, mango passionfruit, caramel, and earl grey macarons, and every single one was amazing. For $2 per cookie, they are an easy new favorite place and I wish them the best through this difficult time!

They still make the best cookies in the world (nostalgia may be a factor). Fresh, flavorful, and not too sweet. I've tried most flavors, and they're fantastic. FAVE COOKIES - caramel pecan (delicious, love the soft caramel) - lemon cooler (totally unique to Hope's, get one) - sugar (they use the best sprinkles, sweet and crunchy but not waxy!) - peanut butter (classic) - pumpkin spice (seasonal, tastes like actual pumpkin!) The vanilla ice cream is also better than what you can find in stores, so I pick up a pint whenever possible. Goes great with the cookies! The service is always friendly and quick even when they're busy with huge college orders, and it's easily one of my favorite counters to order from in the area. I always tip, because other quick service restaurants have made me appreciate this so much. They share the space with a pizza place, so unfortunately there isn't much Hope's-specific indoor seating. But the benches outside are cute, and cozy in decent weather. I wish their other locations were still open, so appreciate this one if you have regular access! The only other one I've found is a mini stand in a souvenir shop in Reading Terminal Market, and their selection isn't as good.

First off, the inside decor and decoration on the outside of the building are super cute and perfect for an ice cream/cookie shop! The employees at the shop are really friendly too. I didn't sample any of the many ice cream flavors, but they look great. The cookies got me, they are amazing! So many fantastic recipes and they're super fresh, too. I think these are some of the best cookies I've had! Make a stop!

Angelos popped up on both right away with stellar ratings. So here we go: Yes indeed. The decor immediately screamed pleading, subtle and cleanliness! We were sat down by our friendly host and immediately went for the menus. We ordered a French Toast, A Raisin bread French Toast and an Egg and Cheese Sandwich. I personally had the raisin toast and it was sublime! Would have rated it a 6 star if I could. It was that good! We also ordered juice which was fresh squeezed. Excellent! Prices were good, which I find a tad up, but worth the quality. All in all, if you are in the Philly or Villy area, this is a must stop!

It just wasn't hot to me. Could have been the air temperature. The waiter was very attentive and stopped by a few times to see if we needed anything. Dad enjoyed his omelet and my pancakes were delicious. I didn't enjoy the bacon, taste like I was eating pig. I know it's pork but had a strong taste or flavor I didn't care for. Cheddar scrambled eggs were good but could have been hotter. Looks like a lot of seniors ate there. So good place to bring your parents.

Almost gave it three stars because of being rushed to finish our appetizers but more on that later…read more The outside of the restaurant isn't all that special looking, in fact one in our party walked right past while looking for it! Once inside, the feeling was a lot better. Not much in the way of art work on the walls, but still had a nice warm feeling. There were 3 of us and we did a lot of sharing. The Scallops in Shredded Filo was good but the Crab & Artichoke, with garlic aioli, parsley and capers was definitely "the winner". The Seafood Ceviche with scallops, halibut and shrimp was also delicious. While 2 of us were still enjoying our appetizers, our entrees were brought to the table and our plates moved to make room for them. I made the comment to no one in particular that I would try to eat faster as the seafood ceviche was pushed off to the side of the table. We had a 7 pm reservation and for the most part the restaurant was full by that time but we were not intentionally eating slowly. I could see if we might be taking up too much time eating and they had to move the tables but that was not the case as the restaurant was only half full by the time we left. For an establishment that is charging the prices that it is, Avg $18 for appetizers, high $30s for entrees, no one wants to feel rushed. The Halibut Almondine with Beurre Blank was good but not as good as we had hoped, with it being on the dry-side. The Dorado with Baby Vegetables was delicious as well as beautifully presented with "potato fish scales". A shared warm Pecan Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream completed our meal. Their menu is extensive making it an easy decision to return but I will mention that we would like a more leisurely experience this time around.

The Choice is one of those restaurants that appears to be hiding in plain sight. When we first…read moreconsidered dining here, noting that it had received very positive reviews from a variety of sources, we were surprised to find that no one of our acquaintance had even heard of the place, let alone darkened the door. And yet... when our party of three arrived for a recent Wednesday evening reservation, we found the 50-seat dining room full and joyously overflowing. ... And, given the fact that the menu is awash with a host of French and Asian fusion innuendos, you would probably never suspect that the restaurant is owned by two Ukrainian families. But, since the well-traveled co-proprietor Volodymyr "Vlad" Hyvel served as sous-chef in London's Nobu and also put in time at Le Cirque, Alain Ducasse and Jean-Georges, his diverse culinary inclinations make impeccably perfect sense. Matters piscatorial - both preludes and main courses - play a major role in Mr. Hyvel's repertoire. His starters, for instance, range from cold items such as Yellowtail Sashimi, Tuna Tartare, and Lobster Ceviche to a comforting tomato-y Fish Soup awash with shrimp & scallops. Among his starters, however, the chef's magnum opus proved to be his extraordinary Scallops in Shredded Filo (pictured). The rich & meaty deep-fried bivalves arrived at table accompanied by a zippy wasabi cream sauce... and were simply irresistible. Entrées are pretty evenly divided between "Meat" and "Fish and Seafood." In addition to Filet Mignon, Short Ribs, and Grilled New Zealand Lamb Chops with a spicy Peruvian sauce, the former category also included Chicken Teriyaki and Duck Canton splashed with a seductive caramel-coffee-orange sauce. Once again, however, for our party at least, seafood took center stage. My dining partners decided upon the Halibut and Branzino, respectively. The former was companioned by mushrooms and finished with a green pepper dressing; the latter was presented with creamy mushrooms, crisp potato balls, and a side of fennel dressing. My Wild Caught Striped Bass (pictured) was a particular treat, as the filet was wrapped in a crispy potato crust, served on a bed of creamy leeks, and splashed with a delicate red wine sauce. If The Choice has a weakness, it is their desserts. As noted above, appetizers & entrées are both delightfully innovative and cosmopolitan in scope. When it comes to sweet endings, however, options are exceedingly limited and creativity is conspicuous by its absence - Chocolate Meltdown with Vanilla Ice Cream... Pecan Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream... Warm Apple Tart with Vanilla Ice Cream... Ice Cream. You get the picture. Given the quality of all that has gone before, you expect more... and it simply isn't forthcoming. Just be prepared... Dinner at The Choice is not a cheap date. Those aforementioned highly-touted Scallops in Shredded Filo, for instance, will set you back $18.00. Lobster Ceviche goes for $28.00; with appetizers topping out at $32.00 for the Pan-Seared Foie Gras. Entrée-wise, that Butter-Poached Lobster will put a sizeable $60.00 dent in your wallet, while all finny fare goes for either $35.00 or $40.00. Meats are $35.00 per, with Chicken Teriyaki occupying the menu's bottom rung at $28.00. Even those rather nondescript downhome desserts will set you back $12.00 per. Given the current state of economic affairs, I am not suggesting that these prices are outrageous by any means. However, given the restaurant's location - the western 'burbs - and the laidback atmosphere and service, they are a bit on the heady side. Not exactly a likely candidate for a last-minute inexpensive casual evening out... Fortunately, the fact that you may BYOB helps to soften the blow somewhat.
