    Pistachio croissant, a lot more

Ran into this online by chance and then was excited to go. I see this bakery is a fave for some local vegans as they have a reasonable amount for that crowd, and why some other locals come here too. I have now been to Mighty, DeadKing, Merzbachers, Artisan, High Fidelity, probably others, and here and this one is the winner for me . The clear assortment of vegan versus non-vegan and a nice array of flavorful and standard but quality wheat foods makes this bakery an overall winner for me. Besides GF options, this place could use a cafe too, I agree. Some of the other places mentioned do have cafes and Mighty would be the winner in that category. Because all these brands are prominent in their own way and because Philadelphia is a big area, they are all here to stay! Enjoy the quality of bakery that we have in our various Philadelphia enclaves and neighborhoods.

Everything and plain bagels to go.

Four Worlds Bakery has consistently offered great bread options for many years now. I love how crunchy the bagels are on the outside and soft texture inside. They are made fresh daily with sourdough. I usually buy plain and sesame. They accidentally gave me everything bagels this time although my receipt says I should have received sesame. Thankfully I like the everything bagels too. Currently, the price for one bagels is $1.45. They also have a great selection of breads. I usually get the pre sliced option. The flavors I've tried so far are Olive Rosemary Levain, Classic Pan Levain and Rye. All options taste great.

Heaven in carb form! Finding FWB will likely not be good for my diet, but so very good for my soul. The Croissants are out of this world: buttery, flakey and not overly sweet. The raisin option is something special and unexpected. Imagine a Cinnabon and a raisin had a baby, born in France. #YUM Can't wait to try more, specifically the bagels! I'm also a fan of the online ordering system. Avoid the in person disappoint and check out their real time inventory on their website. "Know before you go"! And if you're lucky enough to live in an area where they deliver too, then even better! Spending the $15 minimum to cover the delivery should be easy peasy with their vast selection of baked goods.

Small local bakery worth the visit! Tons of pastry options and bread options too! FYI they only have regular drip coffee and everything is To Go, but the prices are fair and the treats are just that.. along with being fresh, fluffy, and yummy!

Fantastic little West Philly gem. I pass it on the way to work every day and stopped in today. Very knowledgeable young woman working the counter and described all of the available goodies to me. Ended up with chocolate raspberry croissant & pistachio cream croissant. Holy moly this

Love seeing a positive face in the morning! I orders a BEC on sea salt rosemary-- my goto. Bagels were out in ~5 minutes, and it was a delicious bit to eat with coffee later on. The shop here is pick-up only, and on some mornings when I've visited especially in the winter, it's kind of painful to wait inside because it started to get a bit cramped. More just a heads up but not a piece of feedback though since their lot is pretty small. If you're grabbing breakfast in the Rittenhouse area, this is nice option for you! Just know that you'll have to take it to-go and eat it elsewhere.

The everything bagel seasoning was very good but the bagel was mediocre. The bagel was loaded with strawberry cream cheese which had good flavor. The others had regular bagels and had better reviews of the bagels. A couple egg sandwiches were described as being "good" and a plain bagel with cream cheese was given similar review. I'm not sure it's the kind of bagel shop that I would go racing back to at any point but it was decent. A bright light was how good the staff was to work with in terms of being friendly while placing an order. Probably brought this review from a 3 to a 4 based upon the staff interaction.

When ordering coffee, I'll let them know what I want (drip coffee) with whatever kind of milk (with heavy oat milk enough to change colour) and sweetener (with sugar please). Then you let them know any sides you want. I may or may not be saying it a bit quickly, because I'm half awake, and running on auto pilot, because I've lived in the Northeast for so long. The absolutely delightful lady behind the counter got it all recorded, fired, and sorted as and when it was coming out of my mouth. Confirmed everything, collected my payment, and we kept it pumping. As soon as the coffee was ready, called me over to grab it, because it was chilly and rainy while we waited. When one of the items I was ordering was taking a long time, the staff let me know that the item was taking a while longer than expected to finish cooking. My food came out perfectly done. Also, when they pass you your food, they confirm how many things you're ordering to make sure you get all your stuff. This operation is efficient, fast, and friendly. It's inexpensive for what you're getting. Coffee is excellent. Bagels have that snappy exterior, and chewy insides. Hash browns are crisp and piping hot. Coffee is rich and dark. Genuinely, you can't have any complaints when everything is done just right.

I went to Middle Child a few weeks ago just after 3, only to find it closes at 3. Today I returned, around 1, and there was a good crowd there having lunch. I ordered the Surfer, and the Hash Brown Potatoes. The Surfer is Middle Child's most popular sandwich. It's made on a Ciabatta bun, and has a thick layering of tender, lean, House Turkey breast, with melty Swiss cheese, arugula, blueberry chutney, and Duke's mayo. It's hard to describe just how delicious this sandwich was. My biggest concern was the Ciabatta bun - it's not one of my favorites, as I've found them to be tough and difficult to bite through. My fears were quickly put to rest after the first bite! The bun had a slightly crispy exterior - and when I followed through with my first bite, the tender, soft interior of the Ciabatta was a pleasant surprise. In fact, it complemented the thick savory Turkey, arugula, chutney and mayo! It was one of the best Turkey sandwiches I've had. Now, if that wasn't enough, don't forget, I ordered the Hash Brown Potatoes. It said Hash Browns on the blackboard, see attached picture, but these 'weren't your Mama's hash browns'! They are described online as Latka'd Hash Browns. They are thick crispy squares that combine a potato pancake latke with a hash brown texture. The interior reminded me of my mother's potato kugel, which I still reminisce about. In one word, those fried crispy potato squares were outstanding. It's 'a must try' and goes so well with the Surfer! Last, but not least, the Limeade! It was so refreshing! Not too tart, not too sweet... just right! I'll be returning to Middle Child in the not too distant future!

Turkey was tender, bread (ciabatta I think?) held together fine even though the sandwich was pretty loaded. Definitely a lean-over-the-plate kind of sandwich, got some chutney on my fingers, but that's kind of expected with a sandwich like this I guess. Also got one of the latke hash browns on the side and that thing didn't last long at all - crispy outside, soft in the middle, I finished it before I was even halfway through my sandwich. Might've been the better item honestly, don't tell the sandwich that.
