This is my second time visiting a Matcha Panda location, and I'm happy to say the quality is just as good as the Chestnut Street one. They definitely seem consistent, which I really appreciate. I came with a couple of friends on a Saturday afternoon, and wow... this place was packed. Even with the crowd, the staff stayed friendly and worked quickly, so we didn't have to wait too long for our drinks. One thing I still love is the seating. They have giant plushies sitting in the booths, so if you're by yourself, you're not just awkwardly staring at an empty seat across from you. Maybe I'm the only one who appreciates that, but I think it's a cute touch. The matcha here is the real deal. It's bright green, fragrant, and has that rich, earthy flavor with just enough natural bitterness that you know they're using quality matcha. A lot of places advertise matcha, but this one actually delivers. I ordered one of their matcha desserts with ice cream, and it was creamy, refreshing, and let the matcha flavor shine instead of burying it under sugar. My only complaint is that it was pretty warm inside. It was a hot summer day, and I honestly couldn't tell if the air conditioning was running or if it was just fans. Either way, it wasn't very cool inside. Thankfully I had ice cream, so it didn't bother me too much, but it's something to keep in mind if you're stopping by on a really hot day. Overall, another great visit. Friendly staff, consistently high-quality matcha, and a fun atmosphere. If you're a matcha lover, this is still one of my favorite spots in Chinatown. read more

I came in from California and immediately started searching for a matcha spot. I was in the area and came across it. They offer samples of their soft serve flavors! I personally thought the matcha one was the best. The service was quick and informative. And I loved the little booths they had, it was adorable. That aside, I do think the drinks are mediocre. I ordered their most popular, Mango Matcha and their Hojicha Latte. Sadly I was disappointed, the mango matcha was VERY sweet, but the texture was creamy. I just couldn't get over the overpowering sweetness of the mango puree, but that's my personal preference. The mango flavor itself wasn't bad! Maybe half sweet would be the way to go, Im not sure if they do adjustments. If you love yuzu, I don't recommend their yuzu soft serve HOWEVER their matcha soft serve is pretty yummy Their Hojicha was watery...I really hoped it would be better. I don't recommend it. I need to be so honest about this place, I've come here on several occasions and while I think their matcha is good... I don't love their options! I always find myself having a hard time choosing a drink because many of them have dairy embedded into the interesting aspect of the drink. I always end up being just okay because I can't get the actual thing I want. I do think it's nice you have some non matcha items on the menu for those folks who are just there to support their matcha addicted friends. A nice little treat. The Matcha Cloud Americano was good. Not spectacular but good. Unique for sure although I think I prefer a traditional americano. The nice cream was smooth and tasty even if on the pricey end. A cute spot that is equal parts vibe and taste, although I wish it leaned more into the taste (food quality and price). I'm not disappointed but wouldn't go back unless I happen to be in the area. The staff though was the best part. Very kind and helpful. Came over on a Saturday afternoon at around 3:30 pm and we were able to order immediately. There were regular tables and booth seatings with giant plushies seated at some. They had some different options from cream puffs to drinks to ice cream desserts. Matcha Gelato - It was a pretty large sized ice cream and the matcha green was such a vibrant deep color. The gelato itself was creamy and smooth that contrasted well with the crunchy, fresh cone. Wow! This place lives up to the yelp hype. I came here on New Year's Day ~ 4 PM. They were already sold out of the Matcha cake and something else that I wanted now that I can't recall. So I end up getting the Matcha crème brûlée hot drink with oat milk and it was so good. It is not too sweet but just slightly sweet, which is perfect. Desserts are best when it's not too sweet. And I got the Matcha puff which I couldn't help but compared to my favorite Bibble and sip matcha puff in New York City. It's smaller than the cream puff at Bibble and Sip, and just slightly more expensive, but it was still really good and the puff filling was incredibly light and again my favorite descriptor "not too sweet". The interior is also really cute and the large larger tables are reserved for three or more people. They also have cute giant stuffed animals at these tables that you can take photos with and just have a really warm and inviting on beyond. The service was also really great. It was my first time coming and the gentleman at the register came over to help me make my selection given how cold it is. I really wanted a hot drink and so he pointed me to the right direction. I'm so pleased with both of my items. And maybe I'll even swing back before heading back home to DC. Parking is a pain but it's a pain anywhere else in Chinatown. You order up front and they'll bring your order once you're seated. The desserts were tasty but I think I'd want a little more matcha flavor. I still haven't tried the soft serve, that'll be next. We came here twice during our mini weekend getaway! The first time, i got it to go. I got banana matcha and strawberry matcha. Both the drinks were really good, good matcha flavor. The second time, we were exploring the area so we sat down to enjoy some drinks and desserts. We got ube gelato, ube cream puff, avocado matcha and a tea drink (can't remember which one). Ube gelato was really creamy and good! The cream puff wasn't bad but the shell was a bit hard and very crumbly. Avocado matcha was meh, it wasn't sweet enough. The tea was good. My friend told me when I came to visit Philly that there wasn't a lot of REALLY good matcha places in her area. So I hunted around and found Matcha Panda! We visited and the place was very pretty! I loved the decor and the big stuffed animals they had at the booths! The staff was very very friendly! We got the creme brûlée, the banana milk, the banana milk matcha, and the gelato bomb drink! We were all extremely impressed by the quality and strength of the matcha. After having very watered down, pale green matcha drinks, we were in heaven. All of us could not stop singing praises for each others drinks. Not a single bad thing to say about any of them. The gelato bomb had the most smooth, perfectly sweet delicious gelato on top and a pretty un sweetened matcha underneath. It was an amazing combo. The banana milk matcha felt like drinking banana bread in the best way (we got another before we left). Everything was totally amazing. This cafe focuses on cuteness to serve matcha centric desserts. There are tables that are seated with a giant plush that are great for larger parties. The requirement is that only 3+ people per party are allowed to sit here. When I went, there were not many other customers and absolutely no 3+ groups of people so I was surprised when this rule was enforced. I ordered the roasted green tea gelato cup. The gelato on top was a mild hojicha taste with not much tea flavor as well as undetectable sweetness. I suspect that they forgot to add sugar so I was quite disappointed. The strawberry was freeze dried and not what I expected. I wish they gave fresh strawberry slices as that would have better complement the dessert. The bottom was some sort of coconut cream/milk. It did not fit well with the dessert as well. Overall, the dessert felt like a haphazardly put together mishmash of unrelated flavors.
