Banana Bread Latte and Morning Bun
    Shaelyn H.

I ordered the banana bread latter and a morning bun, both were good! The service was good and they have a cute ambiance.

I've had this place saved as a "want to go" for so long and am kicking myself for waiting this long to try them out. The service is super friendly and they prepare your drinks at a reasonable pace. I had the vanilla bean shakerato & a butter croissant. The croissant was flakey and warm. The drink had a good flavor to it. I would definitely come back and try the other shakeratos.

Really good Almond croissant, had a few bites before I remembered a photo

I stopped by during lunch on a weekday to try to seasonal banana bread latte. By late lunchtime there weren't many pastry options left but they did have an almond croissant which I grabbed. I got the banana bread latte with oat milk, and got my things to go. There were a lot of seats but literally all of them were taken. Service was fine but it was just one person behind the counter taking orders and making everything so I did wait about 5 min which was fine. The banana bread latte had a lot of flavor in the first sip and I enjoyed it, and then kind of lost flavor as I kept drinking it. The almond croissant was realllly delicious though!

The coffee is ok. Not bad but not spectacular. I got a regular iced latte. Love the interior though. Ample seating. Great vibes.

My first stop visiting Philadelphia and I was disappointed to say the least. The girls at the counter were so rude and rolled their eyes at my friend. $6 for the tiniest coffee I've ever seen. I ordered a cappuccino and was given something else. The building itself boasts "Scandinavian design" but they just painted every surface beige and hung no art on the walls. But the worst part overall was the attitude of the baristas. The coffee tasted fine but once again was not what i ordered.

Really cute coffee shop!! Stopped in for some morning coffee and a chocolate croissant and wasn't disappointed. The vibe is really clean and quiet so it's a great spot to go to if you want a nice coffee shop to work from. Will definitely be coming back to spend some of my study days here!

Nice, cozy cafe with a modern, simple interior. Great for working and having a nice drink. I've tried the matcha unsweetened which is good. I also really like the vanilla bean latte or cappuccino extra hot and less sweet. The black bean flecks are a nice touch with the rich vanilla flavor. Drinking water is available and bathrooms are clean. Service is good.

Nice, clean, and comfortable...but not necessarily my cup of coffee. (See what I did there?) Alchemy is a pretty sharp looking coffee shop. Everything seems to have a perfect angle and the same shade of white & wood stain, from the furniture to the wall art to the cups that they serve the coffee in. That's pretty cool, I cannot lie. And even though it kinda has a bit of a museum aesthetic, you'd think it wouldn't be very comfortable - but it was! I was quite happy sitting there and reading my paper. Where Alchemy falls short, in my opinion, is the lack of privacy. This seems a little weird to suggest since it is a coffee shop with multiple areas for seating and people are constantly in and out, so there isn't really an expectation of privacy. However, I am a little hard of hearing (ask my girlfriend), and I could hear every single word of every conversation that was being had in the shop. It's a little off-putting and distracting. I suppose this is the drawback to a small coffee shop, but there are worse things. Also, the drip coffee wasn't very good, I don't think. It tastes very watered down, but the price was about what you'd expect. I did enjoy my latte, however. Really well made. I'd go back to Alchemy but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Good coffee in a super-stylish setting. They are popular, which means the line can make it feel a bit cramped. I feel like I'm standing over the people sitting at a table--because I am. But they make a good espresso, and the cold brew is some of the best in the city. Their ceramics used for in-house drinks are super-cool. Lots of people lingering and working. There are some outside tables, which I've enjoyed.

    Iced Matcha w Pistachio syrup

No amount of words can express how much I LOVE their matchas and HOUSEMADE syrups. So far my fav has been the Iced Matcha w vanilla bean syrup - you'll understand once you try it! Although the seating seems pretty congested and gets filled quickly, Alchemy Coffee does a great job of making use of the limited space it has. *They also have a limited edition pistachio syrup for St. Patty's that I tried last year and they're bringing it back - def worth a try!

I don't think I've ever visited an an hour where I've seen it not. Often a line going from the counter, down the stairs, all the way to the bathroom. If you're looking for a quick coffee stop, don't expect to be in and out of here. That being said, they've got some kinds of seating not typical of coffee shops, including this nice long U-shaped couch seating. You'll be around with other folks reading or enjoying their joe, but it's a nice change of pace. Working-wise, wi-fi is solid. Outlets are sparse. Hard to stay a long time here. Music is at least at a tolerable level to tune out and is not usually too bumping. Staff here are quick, but won't be the friendliest. They won't be rude either. They're just trying to get through the line so don't take it personally Overall: would much prefer other places like Capital One Cafe for the reasons I visit cafes, but I can see this being a nice place for other more leisurely-natured visits!

It is a very small shop, so there are only a few tables inside, along with a few outside depending on the weather. Although small, the interior is clean and cozy. A single restroom is available. Parking is on the street. Mild noise level. They have a good amount of drink options, including rotating specials, as well as pastries, bread, and misc items like granola and coffee beans. The drinks are delicious - definitely recommend their matcha. The pastries are huge, flavorful, and filling. Slightly dry but I did go right before closing. They have a nice variety of flavors (both sweet and savory), so most palettes will be satisfied. Prices are definitely fair. If I weren't just a traveler passing through, this would easily become a regular spot for me. It's at least on the "must return to" list! 10/10 recommend.

We braved negative degree weather for the roughly 10 minute walk from our hotel. We walked in at a good time. This is the type of place where a reservation for breakfast would be required. We were sat immediately. The dining area is tight. A green velvet bench, marble tables, metal chairs, all packed into a small area. You could very well have your butt brush over the table of the patrons next to you if you have to get up for any reason. It's tight. Our server was around quickly. He was super friendly and kept things conversational, light and sophisticated. My wife ordered an iced latte, I had their hot drip coffee. For a starter, we had to try the cinnamon knot bread. While it wasn't what we were expecting, it was good. Although, we wouldn't order again. The bread is presented as a small loaf, room temperature with a cold cream cheese icing drizzled over top. The bread had a mild cinnamon flavor and was dry. It lacked the sweet, moist dough you expect from a cinnamon bread. My wife ordered the French style omelet. This had gruyere cheese and chives. Beautifully plated, perfectly cooked and the taste was spot on. It was good enough to forget that she paid $21 for just an omelet, no meat, no sides. I ordered the Eggs Benedict. Pretty standard here. The eggs had bright orange yolks which is common for farm fresh eggs. The "coffee" hollandaise didn't come across with a coffee flavor but it was rich and went well with the ham and English muffins. One thing that stuck with me was their drip coffee. Not sure if it has been a while since I had a light roast but the Rival Bros. Revolver coffee was so good, I got a bag of whole beans to bring back home with me. I may even order it again online. Enswell succeeded on all fronts. The ambiance and service was great. The decor, impeccable. The food, thoughtful and tasty. The details from the silverware to the plates added to the experience. We would come back.

Didn't love the copper sharp cheese that was a bit messy and tangy. I kept thinking they must have added some type of sauce on it. I'd much rather come back for a simple fried egg combo and chedda cheese. I was also offered sparkling water, but I do wish it had more fizz. The service start to finish was superb in friendly and fast service. I'd come back for mimosa/bar for sure.
